First off the customer service was awful. The tech was rude to me. Second, I was told they ran a diagnosis on my car, that’s why I was charged $130 and why they had my car for over an hour. When I called to get the diagnostic codes they couldn’t give them to me because they never ran the computer diagnosis. When I asked what they did to diagnosis my car, he said they pulled the spark plugs on my engine.I was told they basically need to re-build my engine. They wanted over $4,000, yet, no diagnosis was run on my car.I will never recommend Community Honda to anyone. I will tell everyone I know about my experience and I will make sure this doesn’t happen to one of my friends or loved ones.After speaking with multiple people, I have realized my experience with Community Honda is actually pretty common.I will make the drive to Iowa City to have my car worked on.Yes, I knew the repairs would be expensive. If you would like to call me and speak to me that would be wonderful. You have my number on file 😊

My fiancé and I went here and was not impressed. Upon first coming in here it was a great start they informed us a lot. Then when running our credit they got real crazy. They told us basically when we had our down payment proof of payment and proof of address. So we were constantly in contact with them to let them know that we were coming back to pick up the car. When we got there they got hostile with us when they seen that we had switched jobs and didn’t have as they called it consist income. We were on the phone with insurance company’s and they basically got rude with us telling us to get off the phone that needed to talk to us. The lady who was handling the financial stuff then began to talk to us like we were children. Basically telling us that we were not smart for switching jobs. When the deal Dennis told us at first that it was okay to have pay stubs from pass employers as long as we had proof of income. Long story short I would not do business with them at all and I would not recommend that anyone else do any business with them. It became very disheartening they way they spoke to us.

Drove 2 hrs. from W. DSM. Negotiation, financing and responsiveness from staff is A+. Salesperson told me car was in great used shape (rated it a 9.5) however sizeable dent between wheel and headlight on drivers side wasnt disclosed so I walked. I realize its a used vehicle, but when shoppers are driving long distances its better to disclose anything significant.

Dennis was the salesman we went through to purchase a new Honda Ridgeline RTL-E. He and everyone else at the dealership visited with us and were very friendly. I drove from Minneapolis to purchase a car from Community Honda. They were quite accommodating in the pre-purchase phase by sharing vehicle history and doing a full walk through via FaceTime. After agreeing to buy and arranging a pick up time they had it well prepared for a confirming test drive and quick paperwork. I was on the road back home within 45mins. Their selection of new & used Hondas I very limitted and their prices on what they do have is significantly higher than other Honda dealerships in Iowa. Was looking for either a new or slightly used (1-2 yr old) Honda Accord EX or touring model or a Honda Civic EX or sport touring, they had none! Two of the most popular submodels of the Accord and Civic and they had nothing, not even used!! Every single thing they had on their lot were BASE models Hondas, everything! Went to CR and their lot was filled with everything and is where I purchased my 2019 Civic Sport Touring at a reasonable price.

Shopped at Community online initially and 3 other regional Honda dealerships for a new Honda Odyssey trading in my Subaru Outback. Sam Porter and his team where immediately forthcoming with a low initial price and detailed offer including all of the hidden costs left out by other dealers. After alot of negotiation with the other dealerships to get near their price ended up going with the Community team. Through the transaction the price didnt change to the cent as we finalized the offer on the used car through to the financing agreement. The friendly team at Community team was respectful of social distancing protocols including masks and made a easy 2 hour quick transaction.

We just purchased a new CR-V from Community Honda and the whole process was quick and easy. We were at the dealership about an hour total. They did not have the exact color vehicle in stock and offered to find and pickup the exact vehicle we wanted. In a couple of days, we had the exact car and decided to trade in our 5-year old vehicle. I was impressed how easy they have made the car buying experience. Negotiation was pleasant and quick. Living in Des Moines, it is difficult to find a dealership that employs salespeople who look at you as a person rather than a sale, so it was a breath of fresh air to work with Community Honda. Jean, aka Frenchy, was delightful to work with and didnt try to push a sell on anything extra. I appreciated that Frenchy was easy to communicate over phone and email, and he described pros and cons in the different trim levels as well as a detailed history on the vehicles we were interested in. Found a used van online. Contacted via email, couple quick exchanges settled on a price. Put down a (refundable) deposit. They had the van detailed and ready for me to view in person. Once we decided to move forward with the purchase, the process took less than 20 minutes. A 2 month, 2,000 warranty was also provided which I think is great considering the van was not of the brand represented by the dealership. All in all, they proved the Honda customer service reputation.

My son was visiting from Minneapolis and said he had to get a tire patched recently on his Honda Civic. I wanted to replace the tire and made arrangements with Sam Beavers to get this done. We discussed possibly needing to replace 2 tires due to tire wear considerations. It turned out Sam was able to get the original tire replaced through a warranty and the second tire was not needed at all due to minimum wear on the remaining tires. A $250+ bill was reduced to the cost (around $20.00) of mounting the new tire replaced by warranty. I greatly appreciate Sam checking the warranty on the tires! Sam is a big reason my family has purchased multiple Hondas over the years from Community Honda!

We had the privilege of working with Nathan Gull, a very nice young man who had been with the company a little over a year. He spoke with me a few times by telephone as I was out-of-state. I also had good interactions with the companys internet salesperson. The company seemed honest and up front. We got a great deal on a Honda Fit and were impressed by the low paperwork fees. Another Honda dealer in another state had tried to add $900 in fees for doing paperwork, but Community Honda actually accepted our low bid on the car and added no extra fees to compensate. Received a decent offer by email. When we arrived we had decided to try and trade our old vehlcle. The trade offer was $2000 less than kbb. The sales person and manager acted like we had ruined their day by doing so. The sales person then disappeared and we dealt with the sales manager who acted like he was doing us a huge favor by selling us a car. When we left, no thank more like get the hell out of here. What jerks! Dont have to worry about being sorry because we wont be back. Do not deal with these people.

We had the opportunity to work with Community at two of their locations over about a month. We were in search of a new vehicle but then had an accident which totaled our family vehicle so our needs changed. If I had just worked with the sales people this would have been a 5 star review. We worked with a few different sales people as our needs changed & they were all professional & they worked hard to find us a vehicle that was a perfect fit. With 5 kids the last thing I want is to jump into a new vehicle thats not exactly what we need & want.Our big disappointment was with Kevin in finance. Every time we spoke to him he made us feel like his only concern was to get us to come in & sign paperwork on any vehicle even if it wasnt a good fit for us. He tried to convince us to buy a brand new Honda Civic that we were approved for AFTER we told him our family mini van was totaled and we needed to look at options for replacing it. A Civic for a family of 7? Worst of all when the sales people found us an almost perfect option on a beautiful used mini van Kevin lied to us when we asked him specifically if they had checked a certain feature on the vehicle. When we checked it ourselves & pointed out that he had been dishonest with us he blew it off and didnt even apologize for his dishonesty. I explained to him that we felt committed to working with Community over other dealerships with similar, lower priced vehicles, after the sales people had worked so hard to help us but he really frustrated us when he deliberately mislead us and he had NO response. No, Im sorry, my mistake, I understand & we appreciate you sticking with us, nothing! He argued with us about the feature in the vehicle asking why it wasnt good enough for our family instead of asking how we could make it a perfect fit. He tried to include an extended warrantee on our purchase agreement after we had told him a few times that we didnt want it. We ended up financing through a local credit union after we got an interest rate that was 9% LOWER than the rate Kevin got us approved for!I didnt really appreciate the way the handle some other things that came up but since I have limited experience with the other issues & limited knowledge on the best way to handle them Ill reserve my feedback.The last straw for us was the day we went in to purchase the vehicle. We sat down with Nate (our awesome sales person) & outlines what we thought would be a good deal. He said he needed to speak with Sam (who we assumed to be a manager). While we were waiting and sitting in the showroom we heard someone yell loudly they either take it home today or the deal is dead! Then moments later the same voice screamed Get out of my office! Kevin & Nate both walked out of an office at that point and we decided we had heard enough. It was disappointing to hear a manager speak so unprofessionally to their employees & I wouldnt want to take my chances being their customer.We left & bought a vehicle elsewhere. The day after we bought our new vehicle something came up that needed fixed & the dealership we worked with fixed it immediately & gave us a vehicle to drive during the repair. We both agreed we were glad we didnt work with Community because we doubted they would have handled the situation as well.

I was looking to purchase 2018 Honda HR-V Ex AWD in modern steel. Avery Holmgren was extremely helpful and courteous. He walked us through trim options and allowed us to test drive on the spot. He was a great conversationalist and completely professional. We went to negotiate on the price but unfortunately, we could not agree on what I thought was a fair market deal. Avery followed up with us to make sure if there were other options we could explore. We ended up going with a dealer with a better price. I would highly recommend going to Community Honda in Cedar Falls for your car shopping needs. Great staff, clean shop and fantastic cars. Always ask for Avery!

Not only did they have the vehicle priced aggressively, they also were very patient with me. After very little haggling they made me a deal I just couldnt refuse. We purchased a 2017 Nissan Murano here. Customer service was great, people were friendly, no one pressed us into buying. Came to an agreement by email. Only a few things that bothered me, was the vehicles interior wasnt cleaned before we picked it up. There was dirt on the carpet and dog hair on the seats. Also, whatever they used to clean the leather left spots. They also should have fill the tank with gas, it was almost on empty. For what we paid for the vehicle, this service should have been included.

Ran diagnostics over my civic not starting 2 years ago at this place. They tried telling me that I needed a new alternator (even tried getting an expensive aftermarket one too, because that was the BEST for me). I didnt listen and changed my battery and my alternator is still fine and working. What a joke. Dont waste your time.
