Been a customer since 1978. You cannot beat the personal service at Bills. To buy the right instrument or piece of equipment its imperative to be able to have the hands on and listen with your own ear ability to decide what is right for you. You cant have that with internet purchases. Bills Music allows you to have that experience before you buy. Excellent!

The sales staff and sales manager patiently worked with me and took the time to show me all possible options and finishes. I reached out to Bill’s music to rent his Hammond b3 organ and leslie for me and my fiancé’s wedding ceremony. Online it says they rent it out at $99/week with a minimum purchase of 4 weeks, noting that it includes free delivery. I knew I wouldn’t need it for 4 weeks but we were willing to pay the $400 minimum amount to just have it for the one day, our wedding day. The first gentleman I spoke with was very kind and said he felt like it was a great offer but he didn’t have the authority to approve it. He informed me he would ask his manager about my offer and he specified that his manager would be the one getting back to me. I patiently waited for a call from the manager but did not receive any call for a few weeks. I finally called the store back and this time the manager answered the call. I restated the offer that I’d given the previous employee and before I could even finish the manager cut me off and told me he didn’t have time for this. I was quite taken aback as he began to aggressively inform me that he didn’t have organ available to rent me. (I hadn’t even told him the date of my wedding yet mind you). So I asked him if would like to know the date of my wedding. He practically bites out at me”well when is it?!” I told him the date and he immediately says nope not available. Then he says I’ll call you back and let you know. He calls back the next day and says “I can rent it to you for $899”. I was shocked. I’d been willing to pay the 4 week price when I was only keeping it for one day and this guy wanted to charge me more than double that. So I said well what about your portable organ? Can I rent that one for $400? He says nope that ones gonna be $899 too! I was so angry I was shaking. I told him no thank you and hung up. I thought I would just have to deal without an organ. My sister, God bless her heart, actually found a guy online who was willing to rent, setup and deliver his Hammond b3 and Leslie for only $150 AND he brought it the day before so we could rehearse with it without my even asking him to! I literally cried! I was so excited and happy and I thanked that man profusely as well as paid him extra!I would warn everyone away from this store because their customer service is horrible!

I was looking for a hard-to-find Parker Fly Deluxe, so when I found an eBay listing for a 99 that happened to be nearby - at Bills - I was relieved to have the choice to buy from a trusted, local store with a great used gear warranty and in-house shop. Leni from online sales was responsive and helpful with answering my initial questions about the listing, and both Mick and Leni were great to deal with when I came by to see it in person. This is legit the most excited Ive ever been about a guitar - the moment I first picked it up, my mind went blank. No licks, no shredding; I just sat there with trembling fingers, giggling to myself as I eked out just enough notes to ensure all the switches and pots worked.Thank you Bills for helping me bring home a marvelous guitar that Ive daydreamed about for 20 years! Its everything Id hoped for.

Some of the most awful customer service I’ve seen, anywhere, and I’ve lived in Savannah, GA, NYC, Rochester, NY, Monterey, and LA. I hardly ever write negative reviews, but it is warranted here. Brian was rude, unknowledgeable, and completely unprofessional. While much nicer than Brian, the other technician I spoke with, whose name escapes me, knew less about amps than I did; I was teaching him things myself. Back to Brian, he quoted a handmade late 1800’s early 1900’s French violin I brought in to sell as a piece of junk worth $150. He also literally called me a fool for putting $100 strings on it. He said, verbatim, “I don’t care what you paid for it or what work you had done, I don’t see it as worth anything and you can keep that piece of junk bow too.” (The bow is a carbon fiber reinforced bow purchased for $250 new and played only a handful of times.) He then had me go look at amps with the other salesperson who was kind but had no idea that Tonemaster amps were modeling amps and tried to tell me they had tubes. Not a big deal, he was kind, but it’s something someone in a music store should be aware of. In the time I spent with the other sales rep, Brian disappeared and didn’t even show up for me to thank him for his time. Completely rude and unprofessional. Oh, and the violin? I took it to another shop right after who appraised it as easily worth $1500-2000, so I will be selling privately and never going to Bill’s music again. To Bill’s/Brian, no, you don’t have to buy my violin, but you do have a responsibility to treat potential customers with respect, regardless of whether or not they’re selling or buying and to NOT CALL THEM NAMES. No exaggeration, Brian called me a fool to my face after knowing me for five minutes. I very well might’ve bought an amp from you without selling the violin if you’d treated me with basic human decency, but instead now you’ve lost a customer for life, and I will be sure to let every musician or potential Bill’s customer I know to not expect a good experience at Bill’s. Peace out.

WOOWWW!!! A musicians dream. I found the staff to be very helpful and actually interested. One employee checked for a guitar he thought I would like! The store is huuuge, with about 50 different options of 40 different instruments. The prices range from beginner to expert to collector (they have a guitar signed by C.C. Deville). An entire area dedicated for percussion and another for acoustic guitars. I spent 45 minutes in the front half of the store and still had things to see. I was in awe of all the different styles of electric guitar and even the small metal statues of stick musicians. Will be back and DEFINITELY recommend

I was charged for a $200 repair I didnt need. I brought in a malfunctioning tube amp that was making a loud electrical popping sound when I used it. The shop replaced my power tubes for around $200 and said it was fixed.I took the amp home and almost immediately had the original issue of the loud electrical popping sounds overpowering my signal.I brought the amp back in and the shop could not recreate the issue. I should note I am not convinced they ever recreated the issue in their store. I ended up taking the amp home and the issue persisted again a third time now.Eventually I found out the popping sound was caused by interference from electrical devices/electrical issues in my house. This is why Bills Music could not recreate the issue in their store. But then why did they charge me $200 to replace the tubes if that was not the cause of the problem? Why did they assume the tubes need to be replaced when by their own admission they could not recreate the issue in their store?Instead of saying they didnt know what the issue is/could not recreate it in the store they swapped out my tubes which were perfectly fine and charged me $200. That is shady business practice and I will not be a customer at this store again.

Massively disappointed with the Super-tune service— NOT the place to go if you would like your instrument respected or properly cared for.In addition to not following through with the cleaning or electrical work, which is what is advertised, I was greatly insulted to be told by Ron that most guitarists dont use their tuning knobs, when I called back to comment that they were still cracking after their Super-tune service, despite being the main reason I brought it in. I was told that they did the best they could, and I was welcome to have them fully replaced for an additional $70.Upon opening up my guitar to do it myself, i discovered all wires and pots were exactly as they were before tune-up.. there is absolutely no way they were addressed at all. To lie about the cleaning was one thing, but to double-down and assume Ill agree that most guitarists dont use their tuning knobs is absolutely insulting. To cap off the lack-luster care, even the jack plate was mounted the wrong direction— my Les Paul is curved, and Ron reapplied the jack plate with the curved portion not flush with the guitar — which does not affect the electronics, but is unfathomable that someone with his experience could make a mistake like that, unless they were careless or drunk.Lastly, I specifically tried to go local with this purchase, NOT go to guitar center— to have my instrument properly cared for. I would not recommend anyone take their guitar, or any instrument to Bills music, unless you dont really know what youre asking for anyway.Shame!

Turns out it was the 9V battery, which I could easily replace myself in 5 minutes. I was charged about $60 of “labor” to replace the battery and clean the electronics. That’s a lot for replacing the battery, which was wore out while the bass was played in store. I also usually have Bills setup my Floyd rose bridge guitars and they charge me close to $100. I called Guitar Center after I saw the price of this repair and was quoted $49 for the same service. I will never set foot in Bills again.
