Go here if you want the experience of an American diner! The menu is very large, although most are variations of the same breakfast items. We got the crab dip appetizer, cream of bisque soup, steak and eggs, and breakfast platter. Portions are huge and well worth the price. Crab dip was really good. We ended up eating all the bread and had a lot of crab dip left so just ate the dip with soup crackers. My brother wanted the cream of crab soup, but they were out so he settled with the cream of bisque soup. It was good, but needed salt and pepper. Steak and eggs came with melted cheese and eggs on top of it. Cheese is a ~$1.20 extra charge depending on what type you get. Our steaks were under-seasoned and definitely well-done even though we asked for medium rare. I ate mine with A1 sauce. It took 20 minutes for the appetizer to come out and the entrees came out 7 minutes later. Too long. There is a basket of butter, syrup, and different flavored jams to put on your food as you please. Menus were slightly sticky. Staff is very friendly!

The amount of food served was amazing my friend and I had to take some home and we used it for dinner. The prices are very low and you will get a complimentary bowl of soup. The only down side was that the main dining area is a little bit hot when packed full and the restrooms needs constant cleaning.

Did not really enjoy the food here. They have a very large menu but I ended up getting the eastern skillet with toast and a coffee. The skillet seemed like it was warmed up in a microwave rather than cooked when I ordered and the three slices of cheese they added on top didnt look the most appetizing. It was kind of bland as well and I couldnt quite finish it.The coffee and toast were OK.Giving Double Ts 2 stars cause food was still edible and the staff was nice.

I havent been to Double T Diner in a while and can say I have no intentions on going back anytime soon (or possibly ever). We were seated right away, but then basically ignored for at least 15 minutes before a waitress came and took our order. My husband ordered steak, eggs and home fries with onions. The steak was good, but the eggs came out with two slices of American cheese laid on the top. It was weird seeing it that way as opposed to mixed in the eggs. The home fries looked one stir short of mashed potatoes and had no onions. My son ordered an omelet with home fries. The omelet was ok but his home fries were overcooked. I ordered a Tuscany salad (grilled chicken with roasted veggies over greens). It comes with soup so I ordered vegetable soup. I have never seen vegetable soup look so unappealing and my son said it looked like it came from the sewer. I didnt touch the vegetable soup. My salad was ok but the chicken was overcooked so it was dry. Also, everything was incredibly bland. I only ate about two bites of the salad, brought it home, added seasoning and put it on a tortilla. This made it much better, but I shouldnt have to doctor up food that much to make it palatable. Also, the waitress never returned with our bill, so we ended up having to ask someone to get her so that we could get the bill and leave.

Me and my husband went here to eat yesterday. He ordered steak, eggs with cheese, home fries and a waffle. I ordered crab soup (nasty, floury, crab?), turkey and ham club (ok), onion rings(greasy globs of coated onions) and 2 sodas. Grand total $70. What? Huh? How? 15% gratuity forced on us, the manager was gracious enough to discount my food but i will NEVER EVER EVER eat here again. All these 4 and 5 star reviews, I must of ordered the wrong thing. Not to mention our waitress didnt have a mask or gloves on. Diners beware.

Got food here and it was a bad experience overall. The food was ok and the staff was good but everything else about my experience was bad. Let me tell you, dont get the fries, I am not even kidding when I tell you that the fries they serve are LITERALLY BOUGHT FROM MCDONALDS ACROSS THE STREET and frozen and reheated. I brought McDonalds fries into the restaurant to make sure of this and it was confirmed. Also they overcharged me on my bill by about $15 and I didnt find this out till I left. Alsp the silverware when I first got them were not even washed, it still had food left over from the previous customer.. Terrible.

Most breakfast foods and sandwiches are pretty good. Most others, in my opinion, arent great, but to be fair, I havent tried everything on their menu. The service is usually top-notch and quick. I always wind up here on Sunday mornings or early afternoons and its ALWAYS packed, as to be expected. I dislike being here during their peak times, but my boyfriend loves diner food. The experience is that of a typical diner: lots of families and pretty noisy. Be advised that during their peak times, its very noisy and crowded. Bathrooms are not always sparkly clean due to the high amounts of traffic, which is understandable. I dont go out of my way to visit any diner, but overall their food is up to par and the service good. If worried about social distancing, DO NOT visit during busy hours! Everyone is required to wear masks, but youre seated very closely to others in crammed spaces.

Im going to give the double T four stars for factors other than the food quality itself. Its been around for a long long time, and I have fond memories of it. Its a great place to meet folks and hang out for coffee or a meal at off times. The menu is off the chart in terms of the number of things that you can get pretty much anytime during the day or night. It has a vintage vibe even though its been enlarged and updated through the years. Its just a slice of the past in some ways. The portions are generally ample, and the cakes, pastries, and cookies are hugely oversized. You know how people say everything in Texas is bigger? They havent been to the Double T. These things are definitely a meal if you have one with a cup of coffee. Maybe even a meal for two. Its just kind of a fun place and always lively. A real institution at this point, and worth a visit if you arent looking for a foodie experience.

My grandpa and I had breakfast at double T diner off of route 40, on Rolling Road. The food was fine, it fulfilled its purpose. The problem we had was with the check. The tip was 15% and automatically added to the bill and labeled as a “service charge”. The definition of a tip is extra money given to show gratitude for good service, the fact that they took away my grandpa’s choice to pay is the problem here. We went to the front to ask about it and the clerk there had told us that on the menu it stated “15% service charge will be added to any bill over $30”. We didn’t see this when we first walked in and why? BECAUSE THEY WROTE IT AT THE BOTTOM WITH THE SMALLEST PRINT POSSIBLE! This is criminal and shouldn’t stand at all.

The bathroom looked like it wasn’t cleaned in DAYS & OMG!! the smell 🤢😷🤮. Just about ALL of our orders were made wrong or had an “uninvited guest” in. Food was over cooked. Undercooked. Not what it was suppose to be. Unusually funny looking. The salads was siting in puddles of water….Now what’s shocking is was THE WAITER WAS VERY POLITE but the food was just TERRIBLE! We calmly explained to the waiter our situations w/ our food. We ended up leaving w/o making a big fuss though we were EXTREMELY DISAPPOINTED & still tipped her $10 cash to include w/ the receipt gratuity just because she was so nice. Over $200 WASTED 🙄😒

I went for dinner last night, one of the servers delivered my Cesar salad to the wrong table. While my server did come back and take it from their table and place it on mine she was sure to tell me several times that the first table didn’t touch it. What would you know? I literally watched them use their hands to pick out croutons from the salad. I was appalled. Refusing to eat the salad. It was eventually replaced by my server who clearly had an attitude because I refuse to eat a salad someone else has been digging In especially while touching their phone and face. The servers attitude gave me “I spit in your food vibes” usually a great place to eat. Since covid I’m realizing that they aren’t very clean or knowledgeable on servsafe. The fact that the server even thought to bring the touched salad to my table and continued to tell me it hasn’t been touched has put me off of this place permanently. Perhaps she was having an off day?

I tend to order the dishes that I have eaten here on previous occasions. In the past, I absolutely loved the pork chops and the meatloaf dinners. It’s clear to me that something has changed. Both meals were terrible. The pork chops were more like pork slivers and dry and the meatloaf was dense, dry, and had an thick, gloppy brown gravy with this horrible unrecognizable flavor. I definitely will not be returning unless this “reinvented” Double T returns to its tried and true recipes and rehire the pre- COVID chefs. Also, the prices have all increased significantly.

The Double T Diner fits the bill in terms of having that nice 50 to 60s feel as opposed to a really modern restaurant. Their menu however is quite large, almost staggeringly so. They have branched out incredibly and offer an amazing array of foods. From that standpoint, this is no ordinary Diner. This one was very comfortable, I was seated almost immediately and greeted very quickly by a waitress. I chose the chicken salad triple-decker sandwich which was so big I could not eat it at one sitting. I got enough fries to choke a horse with it, and the coleslaw that came with it was excellent as well. They actually have cream of crab, Shrimp Bisque, and sometimes a seafood bisque on the weekends. I will definitely go back for that. The dessert offerings were unbelievable, and are strategically located way in the front so that when you enter you walk right past them. Pretty smart move, that. So many choices, too little time. I was so full from my oversized dinner serving that I could not possibly enjoy a dessert. Ill save that for next time. All in all, slightly to the pricey side - but you absolutely get what youre paying for. Plenty of food and really terrific food at that. On a scale of 1 to 10 this place gets an 11. In summation, I was thrilled and absolutely suggested for nearly anyone. 3 thumbs up and well worth the drive.
