Looking through the reviews for this shop, I’ve noticed that there is only one review that actually has some effort out into it, positive or negative. I’ll give a review with a lot of thought put into it. This shop is terrible. I have purchased three vehicles through Berkenkotter, a 1998 24 valve dodge and a 1999 Dakota from the south castle rock lot and a 2006 24 valve dodge from the Parker lot. I dare say that right there makes me a loyal customer. I lost control of the 98 on the highway and totaled it avoiding a deer at 75 mph. I had the Dakota as a secondary vehicle but eventually replaced it with a Jeep for the wife from another dealer. I decided it was time to get another diesel for my work so I got the 2006 from Parker. And yes, before there is any argument over it, the truck has 500k on it and I’m well aware of the issues with high mileage. So I purchased a warranty from the finance office. And it’s been hell. I have had my truck in this shop a total of 4 times over the same gears in the transmission since last winter. The first time was a couple solenoids. Second time they said there was nothing wrong with the shifts. The third time I took it to Parker transmission and they cautioned severely against driving it at all. So I brought it back in for another warranty claim. They “rebuilt” the transmission, which lasted me all of a week. They told me bring it back in as they might have missed something. So I did. And they blamed it on an external part and said I had to replace it for them to warranty their work, which had already failed. So, in compliance, I had it fixed. And within 50 miles, the same shift issue in the same exact gear has shown up again, adding another slip in another gear. I can’t trust my truck to be here ever again. 4 visits and they have eaten up over half of my warranty allotment, with my transmission being in no better shape than when I first took it in.Don’t get me wrong, the people employed at any of the Berkenkotter locations are very nice people. I have dealt with wade and Frankie at the south castle rock location and Michael and josh at the Parker location and one of the guys at the Brighton location (I can’t remember his name, but he helped me with probably 3 test drives one day). Every single one of them has been quick to respond and see what they could do to get my in the vehicle I wanted. Any time I’ve walked into one of the dealer offices, everyone there has at the very least said hi to me and usually ask if I need anything. And I can say Chris at the shop is decent with customer service. I believe that they are very nice people. But the quality of the work has left me severely wanting.I know there’s a lot of reviews trashing them for their vehicles saying they are junkyard quality and overpriced, but each vehicle I’ve bought came off the lot in safe condition and priced to the kbb value. And that’s three vehicles in a row. The Dakota failed to pass emissions and within 48 hours, they had it taken care of. They have no problem if you want a mechanic to inspect a vehicle before purchase. They don’t ignore people that come by unless you’re plain rude. They will tell you exactly what they need to get you in a vehicle. And josh went out of his way to make my trade in work due to the fact that I was a returning customer, despite the initial ruling that they needed more. The sales people will go way out of their way to get it done. And the gals at WinWin Financial are always nice and understanding if you are a little late. All in all, the people are great.I hope this review gives light to a lot of other reviews. Do your homework just like you would on buying any used vehicle and you’ll be alright. Don’t be rude and accept a delayers terms when you are the one who came to them for a purchase. I know there is a decent amount of negative in this review, but right now, I feel wronged. And I dont know what to do about it other than have my truck fixed elsewhere.
