First time here, the before and after pictures of the corned beef are self explanatory. My waitress was awesome, too! Im new to town but will be coming back!UPDATESo Ive been coming here daily almost 2 weeks and love it because every meal really is comfort food, the waitresses are all great as well as the kitchen staff. But, today I guess its the boss here, sporting a leather vest and just being rude to his staff. I could hear him all the way in the dining room barking orders in between standing at the register counting the cash
Oh my goodness!Our 1st time here with my hubby and our son.I got a veggie skillet that was incredible!!We all got breakfast which was delicious.Service was excellent!Clean and efficient!
Extremely good food here! Massive, juicy burgers, excellent philly cheese steak Benedict, fantastic chicken fried steak! Food was brought out quickly, waitress was a sweet heart, all in all a great restaurant! Will definitely be coming back on our trips to and from Springfield!

Just came in and sat for 10 minutes without being acknowledged (other than being told to sit anywhere) and left. After the first 5 minutes another couple came in and sat down and were immediately brought menus. They were brought their drinks and we were still being ignored. Just got up and left without anyone saying anything to us at all. Okay....
The cinnamon French toast was absolutely amazing, Ive traveled to 7 states in the last couple years and hand down this is the second restaurant I have given a great review. Not sure were you buy your bacon but dont change it its the best Ive had. Service was great and very attentive. If you stop in Carthage you need to stop in. GREAT FOOD!!!
Good place for dinner. I had some chicken livers, not many places have them anymore. My love had a smokehouse burger with avocado 🥑. I got a bite it was yummy! Service was great.Eat here... We must save these little local Restaurants.
It was a very nice and clean restaurant. The waitress was prompt and efficient. I had what they called a meat lovers scramble which was very good
I ordered a Mexican Omelette, with a bit of reservation. It was simply awesome! I strongly suggest it! It appears to be impossible to walk out hungry. Great food, large portions and great pricing. Mom and Pop ambience.

The fried chicken is 10 stars. My wife had the gyro and our daughter had the bacon and egg burger and they loved it. Service is excellent and prices dont hurt. Only place I eat when in Carthage.

Round cinnamon French toast was the best French toast Ive ever had in 56 years. Best hashbrowns Ive had in years I usually order southern cubed potatoes in because no one can make good hashbrowns. breakfast places
The restaurant was recommended to us by friends. It was our first time coming and we drove from an adjoining town for the purpose of trying them out. We were not disappointed. I had a sandwich with avocado, bacon and egg. I had never seen this on a menu before. It was delicious and with an order of tater tots, more than I could eat. Very much worth the trip.

Excellent Waitress’s 5 Stars ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️. But the Gravy is never Hot & they Watered down the Gravy. The Owner agreed with me today about the Gravy. I Love The German Omelet. Felt Sorry for the 2 Waitress’s today the Place was Packed. The Owner Could Of Filled Customers Coffee & Clean The Tables To Help the Girls.

The food was super delicious! I ordered a cheeseburger with fries and it wasn’t the best, but it was good. The rest of the crew that was with me added their review to be added: the liver with onions and mash potatoes were delicious (tender, flavorful, large portion for a hearty male adult to get full). Meatlovers Skillet and pancakes (it was good, the pancake large, moist and crispy brown edges when syrup was added-oh my goodness, it was so good!) the pancake platter (eggs, sausage, bacon, AND ham and a side of pancakes which was buttery, fluffy, moist and once you added the syrup-it was GOOOOD!) the French toast (fluffy, moist and good). I don’t understand why it was given any review less than that. The waitress staff was friendly and welcoming.
Extremely rude. Ordered food over the phone and was completely ignored by the staff when I went in to pay for it. They looked at me several times I even said hello and they ignored me walked past me and did other things. The absolute worst experience in town.

What a great place to eat the food is fantastic and the waitress are kind some of them are anyway had to sit 15 minutes yesterday waiting on the waitress and she gave her table to another waitress and today she did the same thing to me.

Did was great, as was the service. Problem twice we ordered Eggs Benedict and the chef and wait staff are not communicating in availability of English muffins which are an important part of Eggs Benedict abs they are served with biscuits instead. That is called the country Eggs Benedict . So work to the wise confirm that they have English muffins for the Eggs Benedict. Again food and wait staff are great . When its there so are the Eggs Benedict.

Food was good. The food was nice and hot. Best ham steak Ive in a while. However the service was HORRIBLE. No exaggerating here. Waited 10 mins for a menu and had to ask twice for our coffee. When the waitress brought us our food she just slid it on our table and left .. we had to ask for more coffee and napkins we never saw our waitress again until she brought our check nobody came over to see if we needed anything to see if our food was okay it was just completely unacceptable. Ive gotten better service from my 40-year-old grandson

The mashed potatoes were definitely canned dehydrated and not very well prepared. The service was surley, rude and condescending. The family meals should clearly have family sized sides and it should be stated as such on the menu.

Carthage Family Restaurant has delicious comfort food. Ms. Jenny is a fantastic waitress as well. Were always greeted with a smile and the atmosphere is comfy! My daughters love the homestyle ice cream too!

Easy to get to, just off of old Route 66 in Carthage. Old school, simple diner. Decent breakfast menu, I was able to get three eggs, toast and hash browns. Nothing fancy about it, just decent service and decent good. Not opposed to going back at all.

Nice stop, nothing fancy but it seemed to be a popular spot for the locals. Large portions, and quick service. I had the Greek specialty. A few blocks from the historic square.
It was really nice to see the waitresses were still there that were there in 2010. We lived near Carthage back then and frequented the restaurant because I had cancer and was too sick to cook. They were wonderful then, and are wonderful now.
I enjoy lunch at Carthage Family Restaurant almost every day. Ive always been treated with prompt service, excellent food and always feel welcome! Thanks to all of the hardworking employees that continue to strive for an outstanding experience!!
Good food friendly service. They say us at a table that hadnt yet been cleaned. When they swiped it off they didnt get the whole tabke.

Carthage is such a food desert. This is just another example. Everything comes frozen and then gets the microwave. If you are into Banquet this place is for you. 😝 I asked for a lemon, it was brown. The tea was not fresh. My food was cold. But hey, all you 5 stars know what youre talking about?

Very good food and great portion sizes. We were driving home from a vacation in Branson, found ourselves in Carthage at a time that we were hungry, so we decided to give it a try. It was better than all the fancy restaurants we went to in the bigger city. We got great service and if we are ever in the area again, we will definitely go back.
