Used to be the best spot to come to from Staten Island for legit halal takeout. Now post pandemic they raised prices on everything by several dollars for basic plates and began charging for every topping in the salad bar. How petty are you guys. Nickel and diming customers after charging $10+ for a basic chicken and rice plate.

The cashier, Talha did an amazing job attending to the customers. Polite and nice. The food was also amazing, it was filling and tasty.

Let me start of by saying, if you’re an open business and can’t afford a single bulb. You simply don’t care. The fork in the platter was a subtle, yet careless touch.This establishment lacks inventory as well as a welcoming food for any new comers. Nothing was stocked, the place is filthy, and the first bite of food? Meh. No contactless ordering, no management.. this isn’t a place you want to visit.Parking gave them 2 stars, but yet no one was there.

The guy taking the orders doesn’t feel like working. I understand, but at least get the order right.I asked for mild and you gave me extremely spicy tika masala.It took 20 min to have the order ready. I am not going to wast 20 min waiting to fix your issue.Get it right from the first time

Food here is well priced and a little bit different from your everyday halal platter shot. The portions are great the food is fresh. Our favorite is this halal spot platter.

I stepped inside and did know I was in the right halal spot is how off-putting the establishment is. Nothing of this place says Halal. I ask is gyro on a spit, no they are not, pre-made. Is Fried chicken sandwich a chicken breast or a patty, I was told its sort of a patty. Light fixture incomplete and unclean environment. Almost an I-dont-care feel is what I got. I walked right back out not ordering a thing.

Great portions, food was freshly made. I ordered the lamb kabob platter and was pleasantly surprised at how tasty the kabob is here, quite a lot of toppings available for the platter which was really great. I will definitely be returning, next stop, the Old Bridge location.

I was in my way to JFK airport and I found this place The Hala Spot .The food was excellent and affordable The cashier was very friendly with happy smile it the end I want to say the place is clean and definitely worth the visit

I liked the restaurant itself. It appeared clean but I wasnt impressed with the food. I travel a ways to get some real lamb, but found that they on served the processed lamb gyro, style of meat. That was a disappointment. The young worker,who took the orders was friendly, but inattentive.

Found this little gem when googling for a good halal spot in jersey! Food was really good and service was just as attentive! Have now eaten several times here and each time it has not disappointed! 2 thumbs up!

The place is clean. Bathroom maintenance is well keep. The foods are delicious and worth the price. I personally like their ice cream but my cousin didnt.

Last time I went to this place it was half grocery store and half take-out restaurant. I guess when the food is good you definitely need more space for the customers to sit. I tried couple of things like zinger burger, chicken kebab roll on naan, and chicken over rice. Everything was delicious my only mistake was that I didnt took pictures of the food(actually i took one) because I was really hungry. The place looks more like a mini diner but with gyros. So all Im saying that this place is a must try.On a side note for the restaurant manager is that try to make a zinger burger a little more saucy.

Ordered chicken platter along with mix gyro platter. Both were made to perfection. Will be visiting soon to try other items from the menu.

I ordered yesterday and the food was ok so I ordered again today. This time they gave me a charcoal burnt keema naan. The top looked fine but bottom was BLACK. The fries were a mixture of stake fries with McDonald’s skinny fries as if it was gathered from multiple peoples left over plates. Fries seemed like the were microwaved. I am so DISAPPOINTED AND DISGUSTED. People spend money to buy food, this meal wasn’t for free I paid for it. If you can’t provide good service you shouldn’t run a business. God watches when you do all of this disgusting dealing with innocent money giving customers. I am very disappointed! Shame on you!

My favorite Halal food. The workers are great never had any problems with them very respectful and down to earth men. The Food is amazing if you haven’t tried the food here yet stop reading and get down there grab yourself a plate and bring your appetite with you because the portions are huge and the food also makes good leftovers lunches. The restaurant is clean and it’s usually busy after 6pm so try to call ahead if you can never got cold food from here yet. Also completion of the order I give a 90% rate after 6pm and 100% before that. Well packaged bags as well.

If there 100 stars I will love to give to this place + halal OMG the best experience it was 11:30 I just got out off 14 hours shift that’s place blessed me with Halal stop special plater I will recommend to everyone it’s Halal + Desi + vegetarian + desi maza!!!!!!! Halal Guys who? This is going to be my to go spot from now on. So much flavor and goodness in it. the white sauce is not very dense like the other Mediterranean places. its just perfect. portions are very generous! price is top notch! Its 20 minutes from my work but that doesnt stop me from driving here to grab the mix platter. yum!

LIES!!Just ordered from this place. The Food is undercooked so the lamb was GUMMY. The platter had about 3 spoonfuls of rice with a plate FULL OF LAMB! It wasnt what was advertised at all! We called to complain and was told there was nothing they can do. There were no spoons & forks in the bag. Needless to say, we will never visit this place again or any of its affiliates! GO ELSEWHERE & GET YOUR MONEYS WORTH! Theyre giving LAMB OVER RICE A BAD REPUTATION!!

Ive eaten here multiple times however my last two visits resulted in extremely stale (and likely frozen/cooked/refrozen/cooked etc) chicken.Their lamb entrees are nice though and they are very generous with their toppings when you order inside. Just stay away from anything that is chicken.

So very good. I had the combo potato pot. Just spicy enough. My hunnee had the Lamb gyro platter with the naan bread. Humungous serving sizes. No complaints, plenty to bring home.The rice was different but had a good flavor too it, not our style of rice but the place was steady and the gentleman at the counter was nice and helpful.If we are ever in the area again we will make it back.

I was studying for my SATs and needed some food for my lunch break, and we decided to hit up The Halal spot and it was a great decision. The chicken tandoori leg over rice platter was mouth-watering and delicious. Loved the atmosphere and the service!

I placed an order over 45 dollars. The driver dropped my food. When I got inside there was stuff missing and the refused to bring it back. Would never order again

The food is excellent. We come from staten island to get it too and it is worth the short drive! Order ahead because it is made to order and we once waited an hour although the clerk said it would be ready in 20 minutes which was kind of annoying otherwise I would give 5 stars.

I had the lamb gyro sandwich. Price was great and I did not wait long. My HUGE problem is I drove less than 5 min to eat at my job. The lamb was room temperature. No HEAT anywhere on the meat!!!! What the!!!! I started in half hour and could not return to the establishment. It was good just freakin not HOT. I’ll give them one more chance and I’ll be sure to ask them to be sure the meat is hot.

Have been to both spots (Carteret and Old Bridge). They never disappoint! Food is always fresh and tastes absolutely great. The gyro rolls and platters beat any in New York, plus they offer items from a fresh tandoor alongside burgers and fries. This is a place a group of friends can go to and there is something for everyone. Highly recommend!!!!

The food is very good, but the service is very bad. I made an order through the website of the restaurant and I paid the amount with the food delivery, and the delivery time was 1:30 pm .. Until 1:45 pm I did not receive the food I called the restaurant and said that no one is delivering And he wants to go to collect the food even though I am at work and time does not allow that, and he should have called me well before that .. I went to pick up the food, he did not return the delivery amount and his treatment was very bad

First time ordering here and got the tandoor thigh and naan. The flavors were really good. The spice was spot on and the naan was delicious. Can not wait to try other items from here.

I was passing through NJ and found this restaurant near by me. Thought to give it a try and you know what, the chicken tikka I had that day was the best chicken tikka I ever had. Fresh and juicy. I will definitely visit again if I pass through I95.

We met with friends at this place for dinner. we heard about this restaurant from quite a few people. Well, we were not disappointed. the staff were so friendly and we felt fantastic. The food was just great. We had a great time and we shall absolutely come back again. Warmly recommended.

The order looked nothing like what was listed. It was missing most of the ingredients to which the restaurant was rude and said they don’t include everything (except lettuce) unless I make a special request to include them- that doesn’t make any sense.I wouldn’t order again from here.

I got the cheeseburger and I’m a food blogger so i was hoping to post about it but it was so bland and like idk felt like i was eating beyond meat :( got 2 combos too portions are big but i mean the white sauce is too minty - something just doesn’t fit right

The food is great there just had one bad experience the salad was very old and brown.I asked for fresh lettuce and was told no.I have been here several times just wasnt treated fairly the lettuce was clearly brown he agreed that it was brown but was to much botherd to make a fresh salad.Anyway it was a wasted drive for me,I did not purchase my lunch from there.If I go back I hope to receive better service.

Food just okay- not that great, kinda cold. Place wasnt clean: crumbs all over the tables, stuff all over their counters, trashcans overflowing. No other customer was there so it could have been cleaned. Also, not really attentive to customers, instead just constantly having their own conversation and using rude language. Suggestion: maybe have some music on while customers are there and maybe be a little more attentive and respectful to customers. Not coming back again.

The chicken kebab are very good . Ordered kebab and said well done . They made it perfect . Very good with their white sauce

My first time ever trying Halal food, I ordered the potato pot with chicken. Wow was impressed with the flavors and taste , it was so good mouth watering sauces. I will be ordering more from this spot in the near future.

Good platter options. Food is clean and well prepared. Cant say these guys are the best South Asian restaurant taste wise, but they serve up decent food and salad. Foods got a certain home cooked freshness that other similar restaurants seem to miss, and thats what makes this a restaurant that we return to often. Worth a visit.

I come here about once a week, and every week I purchase the same exact thing.. The chicken Tikka platter. It tastes really good! I always get a few orders of chicken nuggets, because they are way better than fast food chicken nuggets and what may be the best thing about this place is that they are not stingy with the white sauce. When you go to eat here, they will even put as much white sauce as you want and even give you a cup on the side. It is quite incredible! I completely recommend this establishment as a very fine eatery.

Love this spot. The best food spot in Carteret for sure. Been coming here for a very long time and the staff is very friendly. The owner is also very friendly and you can tell is appreciative of your business. One time I forgot my wallet at home, and they let me take the food and told me to come and pay later since I’m their loyal customer. They also can take big orders if you ever want to cater from them.

The food here was very good. There can be a little bit of a wait if you are going to dine in as they get a lot of take out orders but it would have been worth it.I had gotten the chicken gyro platter where you can pick as many (or as little) veggies to go with on the side and an order of masala fries.I would definitely recommend both!

Wow is all I can say. As good as the NYC Halal street vendors!!! Ive tried a number of other halal shops in the area. None match this level of greatness!!! One warning...order ahead. Might have to wait up to 20 minutes for your meal. But damn well worth it!!! 😀❤

Amazing taste at an amazing price. Would be the best way to summarize the Halal Spot. Platters are much more flavorful compared to Halal Guys and the customer service is outstanding. I would recommend the mixed gyro platter and the chicken tikka on naan. If gyros aren’t your thing, there are plenty of other options to choose from to satisfy your taste buds. Definitely coming back here again!

Affordable, delicious, quality variety of food. Ate here 3 days in a row after finding this restaurant. The lamb gyro is overflowing with lamb, the white sauce is a must have addition, the tandoor chicken is highly seasoned and spicy (also good), the butter chicken is delicious.
