You have to stop by this place when visiting San Juan. Its 5 min from the airport. The chocolate is amazing and it was nice chatting with the owner about cacao farming

A lovely little boutique with a vast selection of delectable goodies. Call when you arrive though, the front door is locked so they can work in the back, I reefed on their poor door. A unique experience finding not just bean to bar but they grow the beans themselves too. We picked up the range of darks to do a tasting as well as some of the more adventurous flavors. If you can’t make it down here, Spicy Carribe in Old San Juan carries the basic dark bars too!

I have had the opportunity to try chocolate from around the world and Loiza Dark is in the top five. Their online website/order process is very easy to use. I picked up an order today, and again, not disappointed. The prices are very reasonable and the staff is helpful and friendly.I had to update my review to say the the Loiza Dark team outside themselves for Easter this year. The giant chocolate egg filled with treats was not only beautifully packaged but tasted as good as it looks. It was a great surprise for all.

We stopped in to visit Loiza Dark in March and learned some of the history of this wonderful chocolate factory from the owner. This is a family owned business and their chocolates are very good; absolutely zero waxy texture and after-taste. Even though the business name indicates dark chocolate, there is also an abundance of milk and other types. We selected a wide variety of options to bring back as gifts from our trip. This is very good chocolate, we recommend you try Loiza Dark from Puerto Rico.

Never went to the shop but I tried the chocolate from a secondary buyer and it was amazing.

I called earlier today, they dont offer tours unless its scheduled. That was fine, Id still go to the shop. Got there at 11:50, was going to stop in and grab a chocolate bar, but they had already closed for lunch. The sign says open till 12. Apparently not.
