My five stars is for the ladies at the register & in the bakery. Especially Monique who went above and beyond helping me with cupcakes today. It was so refreshing to have great customer service. Thanks Monique!

Competetive prices and good produce with occasionally excellent sales. Staff is always friendly. Things can be a little hit and miss sometimes for stocking and having items labeled/priced, but the variety of items and brands available is remarkable for such a small store. It is a good service and convenience to the Village. Since it has become a Smart&Final I am a now a regular customer at this location.

What a great little store! Im visiting Carlsbad from Palm Springs and happened into the store across the street from my hotel. Ive never been to a Smart N Final extra before but if I had one at home, it would be my store! The employees were all friendly and helpful!!!!!!

Conveniently located off the 5 Freeway Carlsbad Blvd exit. Not all Smart & Final Extra are the same. Great deal on the eggs. Spend $25 and get a dozen for .99 each, max 4.

They accept my money to shop there, but have no bathrooms available for their customers. Then they should close down, until they are able to have working bathrooms. Im sure the staff have working bathrooms. Unbelievable, management should be on it to get two running bathrooms working.

Better than vons Ralphs. Not as good as aldi or winco

I went to this place to buy a few things.First service is Bad by from check register and the Manager.I was over charged. So I had to come back and tell them that I am over charged. She Did refund but after I wasted 45 Minutes back and fourth.Be careful of items on Sale items. You might be overcharged . Check your receipts.I don’t recommend this place. I fact go to any different store.Bad service and rude people.

We go here a lot as its convenient. I am still bitter about the 4 racks of chicken we bought that was all rotten and did not figure it out until at family with grill. you cant sell meat that will make people sick. end of story.

Ive stopped in here a few times and will definitely visit many times more. Shelves are always tidy. We were looking for something in particular one visit, and the lady who i believe was the manager on duty was very attentive and took extra care to find out for us. We were pointed in the right direction for what we were looking for.

The meat, vegetables and fruits are very fresh, but some cashiers are dishonest, they are used to collecting more money than the actual price in this store. I feel very tired to correct their mistakes every time.

This is your typical grocery store, although prices did seem a little bit high. Their produce all looked really good though, and everything was stocked well. The employees were ok. One guy was kind of rude and the cashier was definitely not friendly, like she didnt want to be there, but I attribute it all to a bad day.

No more whole chickens! Just as I was about to ask for a rain check, an employee called out for emergency assistance at the dairy cooler. The look on the managers face showed instant conflict. He is so wonderful all the time and so happy but fatherly strict with his employees I could not be selfish. I just smiled and he leapt for the phone, then smiled back. This store has tidy displays, many home cooking things not found at big stores, beautiful flowers at reasonable prices and specials both ordinary as well as unusual. The cashiers always seem satisfied with their job, even when tired. This place is just one step above the country grocery you imagine. Great attitude seals it. I love to come here for a quick stop as it never stresses me to shop and I usually find what I need that other stores do not. E.G. I found the brand of hot sauce my partner has been demanding! This is the fifth store I searched this week.

My once-used-to-be-Albertsons neighborhood market became Smart & Final. Dont pay enough attention to groceries to know which one had better prices. These guys had a nice selection of things I could pick from. Their danish was delicious. Their rotisserie chicken? Holy moly - no joke, it made me have to think if I liked theirs better or Costcos... I still dont know. Really friendly staff. Helpful.

They have great deals on ground turkey.

First of all, the produce area smelled very strongly of mildew. Secondly, when I approached the check out line the checker did not look at nor greet me. I greeted her and she ignored me. She was snapping her gum and I very distinctly said “Hi! How are you today?” She curtly said fine thanks without looking up. Then she checked her phone while my credit card was processing. She was not going to say thanks or have a good night so again I said “Thanks! Have a good night! “ She acted as if she’d rather be anywhere else but there but she had time to joke with another checker about playing on one of those mobile handicapped carts. I’ll never go back there! First and last time shopping at Smart & Final.

Wow disgusting!!! The wife and I just walked out of there. Trash was all over the outside and inside of the store. Seriously clean up the trash!! We live at the beach! Respect it or get your ghetto store out of here! On top of all the gross trash theres always a huge line and only one checker on duty usually. Disgusting place! Seriously pick up a broom people. Receipts , store flyers and bags all over the parking lot?!?!? This does not belong in Carlsbad!

I was really surprised with the selection that this place has, especially for a store who also sells some items in bulk. very reasonable prices compared to the other Carlsbad grocery stores.

No baggers and the old lady behind the register didnt even try to help bag! I have a Masters degree in bagging now? Rude. Also, very confusing signs. Creamer said $8.99, but vanilla and hazelnut are together and when I checked shelf, one was $9.99! Different flavors are different prices?! Really?

A nice variety of fresh fruits and vegetables plus other food items. I like their frozen food section and their selection of cleaning items.

The only grocery in walking distance from Carlsbad Village, and fortunately its a good one! Prices are good, selection is excellent considering their size.

I was shopping for a party I was going to throw and my friend and I were kicked out and one of the workers called the police on us saying we were trying to rob them. Because we had a lot of liquor in our baskets! I am offended and was falsley accussed of robbery which resulted in the arrest of my friend for his own personal situations and the impounding of my nieces car. I do not like that Smart and final and would never suggest it to anyone!!!!!

Parking lot is kind of tight.

Charged me $50 for a $2 purchase and refuses to get back to me or give me a refund. Rude on the phone and not understanding of a situation they caused. Might have to take this to small claims court which is absolutely ridiculous

It is cheap and convenient for sourcing food during long stays.It seems that there are many people who use it frequently when staying at a nearby hotel, so it can be used for food procurement for self-catering during long stays.Also, there are many large bags in the US, so its cheaper to procure snacks here as souvenirs for Japan.

I got it all for my special dinner tomorrow, my family rich turkey.
