I dropped in on a Saturday and waited for the service. Quite pleasant in the dealership in the waiting area - had a free coffee and read the Wall Street Journal. Liam the service rep had estimated the time correctly and I approved new windshield wipers by text with him. I really like the service at Subaru Santa Cruz.

Please dont buy extended warranty unless you are willing to pay $220 for oil change every time and other things that they clam they will do to your car.sales person was excellent but service is very expensive . Also look at the monitor in service department, you will see that most of the cars suddenly need wheels alignment!!! even new ones. Why???

Worked with Service Advisor Liam O’Connor. Overall experience was very positive. They were able to take my car as a walk-in (drive-in?) without appointment, check, fix and test in one day at a reasonable fee. Liam was great, professional, courteous, knowledgeable and set my expectations appropriately. I would recommend this dealer for service.

Disappointing. Traveling from out of town, made an appointment three days ahead of time. Dropped off the car and told them I absolutely needed it at the end of the following afternoon to go home. Service wasnt necessary and I could have had it done back home. Well, its time to go home and no car is ready. Was expecting an update this morning. No call. Called at noon, no one can give me any more info than its being worked on. Asked for a call back from an advisor with more details. Hours later no call back. This didnt need to be a stressful situation but they are making it one. The staff is super friendly, but not what I would consider as being on top of things. This is a $1500 service for a safety sensor.

Russ Thomas, service advisor was over the top in professionalism and service. I was stranded in Santa Cruz due to a broken axle on my Forester. I am from ArizonaHe arranged for parts to be flown in from Portland and somewhere on the East Coast. In all it took 6 days for the parts and service to be completed.Russ kept me informed every step of the way. He also communicated my stranded status to the technicians. I believe they made my work order a priority at Russ urging.Thanks to Russ and the mechanics at Santa Cruz Subaru. First class all the way! I cant thank them all enough for the way they handled this case.We had a safe smooth safe ride back to Arizona.Andrew Cenedella

What a fantastic service center. Showed up 10 minutes early for an 8am appointment and they had me checked in and into a loaner car in less than 10 minutes. Great customer service. I rented an Ascent for a family get away - very nice vehicle and very straightforward process. They performed the 60k mile service on my Outback while I had the rental and kept it for a couple of days until I returned the rental. A very positive experience indeed. I recommend this dealer as they provided high quality service on my vehicle and treated me as a valued customer even though this was my first experience with Santa Cruz Subaru.

I went in for a simple test drive, and almost went through with purchasing a car before realizing I was going to be scammed. They do make you feel bad if you don’t purchase the car that day. While the salesman was very nice, and I thought I could compromise on an awesome Forester, he couldn’t even relay me the interest rate when I asked multiple times, which should have been a huge red flag for me to walk out. The bigger red flag should have been that they put me down to test drive a Corolla instead of a Crosstrek, or the annoying messages from the agent sorted like an email with a signature at the end of every message. It’s not needed. I left before even touching the contract when the finance manager was mentioning that I would actually be purchasing the vehicle, instead of what the salesman mentioned of me being able to hold the vehicle for me for a few days and I can bring the down payment when I can. It seemed too good to be true, and sure enough, false. There was a clear lack of miscommunication in both parties, withholding of information I know I should have and that just did not seem professional at all.At the end of the day, they are scammers with a different title in their resume, and I almost fell for it.If you’re planning to buy a car here, as a woman, don’t go at all. You’ll feel belittled and stupid by the end. No amount of apologies will account for their actions they already did.I’ll continue my vehicle search, but not here

My mom likes to tell me its so much more expensive to get my oil changed at the dealership... I normally try not to argue with my mom because moms are always right, but not this time. I get my oil changed, fluids topped up, an inspection, and a car wash, all for a little more than Valvoline (which sadly bought out our local Oil Can Henrys). Worth it. The service is great, you can borrow a bike to go to the mall or sometimes you can get a ride home while you wait. Ive always had a good experience here, even when things get a little busy. 10/10 would recommend.

Why would you book my appt just to have my car sit around over an hour ? The appt should have been 1 pm giving the mechanics the time they need. This is elementary planning.

My first visit with my new 2021 Subaru Outback XT was not a good experience at all. I’m going to give them a chance though.I took my new car in to have a CD player and wind deflectors put on the windows and moon roof. I was told it would take about 2.5 hours. It took 5hrs.When I returned to the dealership, the moonroof deflector was not on. I told them and they fixed it 30 min wait. I pay my bill and am on my way only to find that the infotainment screen was a scratch/ scuff on it. I called my advisor and left a voicemail. Hours went by and I did not hear back. I then sent him a picture by email in which he responded he was sorry about it and he’d get back to me about it. I am hoping to hear from him today as promised.So my first experience I have not been pleased at all.CD player works, wind deflectors look fine. Just that damn scratch on the infotainment screen has scared me as well.

They do funny business- sending the check to corporate and then they have to wait until corporate credits them. Pretty bogus. I didnt realize that until signing. Fantastic service. Friendly and fast. First time I visited this location for an airbag recall for my outback and decided to get an oil change as well since prices were reasonable and convenient with the car here. Quick turnaround. I was also impressed with follow-up since a wheel arch was damaged during the service and the manager immediately took responsibility and ordered parts to replace it. I have never experienced such superb service at any dealership. I was shocked that a dealer providing service for my car that I had bought elsewhere could be so accommodating. I will definitely be back.

TERRIBLE EXPERIENCEMy mother is a senior citizen and has been a loyal customer of Subaru for many years. She took her vehicle for a 90,000 mile maintenance job. Upon completing the service, a mechanic by the name of Liam informed her that her car was leaking coolant fluid. He explained to her that it would be AT LEAST $4,000 dollar job. We decided to get a second opinion by a reputable mechanic in the area; upon thorough inspection NO LEAK WAS FOUND.We called Subaru to further inquire and inform them of our findings. Liam became defensive and argumentative. We asked to speak with the manager Brad; he was not helpful and clearly sided with his own.Liam tried to make a defense and subsequently sent a picture with “proof” of the leakage. It was clearly a picture of ANOTHER vehicle’s engine! We could not believe it!!! THE NERVE!!!SHAME ON YOU FOR TRYING TO PREY ON AN ELDERLY WOMAN OF HUMBLE MEANS!Don’t bother responding, we are taking our business elsewhere. Steer clear from the service department at Santa Cruz Subaru!

I can’t brag about the customer service at the Santa Cruz Subaru Parts Center enough! I’m not kidding when I say I pulled up at the back of about 8 cars all checking in for appointments. My battery had died and I had a sick 2 year old on the way to the doc in my car along with my cat fresh out of surgery...not only did they push me through service urgently but they replaced my battery and washed and returned my car in less than 45 minutes. I know they made a technician stay during lunch to work on my car and he had the best attitude about that as well. 10/10! They take care of their customers!

She is showered with attention and treats and gets just as excited when we pull up to the service center as she does when we get to the beach. Great place for express oil changes & even comes with car wash nearly as cheap as doin it yourself. Complimentary ride and rental car during service is terrific. Front staff is very friendly. My only knock against on this place is don’t ever rotate ur tires here, ive had a few broken wheel studs & i can only trace it back to this place. But for a quick oil change this is the spot, they get u in & out fast.

I was looking for a family suv, chose subaru for their safety features, we decided for the ascent, about 3 weeks of having the vehicle, they started asking for pay stubs, social security card. (Everything was provided) they said my social security card was not legible. I Was told to bring the car back until I obtained a new card.When we brought it back they had us waiting for about 2 hrs.Let me tell you theres a difference of treatment when you are there for purchase or for something else.I was ready to write them a check for the full price of the car but decided to cancel the contract based on the treatment and how they handled the situation.

A potentially serious conflict was resolved quickly and satisfactorily with maximum attention from management, and complete professionalism from everybody involved. In my opinion, it matters most who you are dealing with when things go wrong. This was a weird one, where some little miscommunications & errors threatened to combine and blow up, not particularly any individuals fault. I appreciate the attitude and all-out effort to resolve the situation at least as much as I do having my car purring like a kitten. I would be back, if they would have me. Hopefully not necessary for some time.

I recently had new tires put on my car and I wanted to give a shout-out to Sandra in service. Not only did Sandra order my tires, schedule my service appointment, and process me out she also researched various tires for me ahead of time and provided three from which to choose. I have a lease through Subaru of Santa Cruz and am always pleasantly surprised by how courteous and efficient they are. I dropped my car off to be serviced at 11:45am and it was done by 1pm. They had it washed and ready for me which was a nice gesture.Their Covid safety protocols made me feel safe and secure. Everyone was wearing masks, they stood more than 6ft away which made me feel better being in a busy shop.Ashley at the service center is so friendly and helpful. They handled my emergency situation fast and safely. When the buzzer for my back door malfunctioned and refused to stop its insane beep, Subaru tried to help me over the phone. Unfortunately it was a computer issue and needed to be fixed in the shop. Upon hearing that I have a sick child at home and was concerned about bringing my car in during a pandemic, they jumped to action. Brandon got all the paper work done, had the buzzer fixed and even serviced my ascent and I never had to go inside. Then when I was unable to pick the car up for a day, Ashley and Brandon worked to have it delivered to my driveway with copies of all paperwork included. UPDATE (3 DAYS LATER): Revised to 3 stars from 1.CONTEXT: I live 45+ miles north of SC Sub and the drive is over 1 hr.RESOLUTION: SC Sub proposed to drop off loaner at my home, take my car, fix the error, bring car back and take back loaner. I volunteered to drive the loaner down on repair completion, and take my car back as a safe-check that everything was done correctly. This is my precaution after the failure of the original repair.FINAL TALLY: Original repair job was corrected. I lost almost 1/2 day of work, cost of fill up for the loaner (both ways), cost of fill up for my car being brought to SC Sub.POSITIVE: SC Sub acknowledgment and willingness to correct.NEGATIVE: Broken process at 2 places: person doing incomplete repair job, no final check of work done. My 1/2 lost work day plus extra cost of gas fill-up.I revised my evaluation to 3 stars because of the additional expenditure on my side in time and cost due to the error on SC Sub. (I am 100% opposed to using social media platform as a form of extortion and Yelps business method to business owners.)================================POSITIVE: Sandra, the customer service person, was great: very personable, customer-centric.NEGATIVE: the actual repair was a disaster: imagine bringing your car in, then on your drive home, the dashboard rattles and squeaks, screws started falling out, and the underside of the dashboard falls off. When at home, I saw that the dashboard tabs to fasten to the metal brackets were broken off, screws were all over the driver and passenger side floor and both undersides of the dash were hanging. Ive contacted SC Subaru; they said they will fix this. Well wait and see. Ill update this review. SC Subaru was where I ordered this Outback and the only shop that serviced this car.

They have snacks and drinks for free in the lobby and dogs are allowed everywhere:) I sat outside in the enclosed dog park and was able to work using their wifi! My service advisor was Sandra. She took the time to look up and explain issues uncovered in an inspection of the car. We discussed types of trailer hitches. She regretfully recommended that I not pull a trailer with this car due to engine issues. Ive given it thought and Ive decided to buy a certified used Forester from Subaru of Santa Cruz. My lowbeam bulb went out the day before a cross country trip. Called Santa Cruz Subaru and they directed me to their Express Service. I was in and out with a new bulb, fluid top-off, and carwash in under an hour!
