Fantastic breakfast. Corned beef hash cooked to perfection (without my having to specify crisp). Two scrambled eggs wouldve fed a family of 4. Extremely pleasant staff even on a very busy Sunday morning. I believe we have found our go to breakfast place.

The food was OK, wasn’t really a welcoming environment. There was news crews out front and walking through the restaurant. Very uncomfortable.The breakfast burrito tasted like it was thrown together. It tasted like somebody cooked eggs then added bell peppers on top, then added onions on top then put it in a tortilla.I went to the restroom and there was an employee standing in the bathroom stall surfing on his phone. I waited for a while but he continued there on his phone. I eventually left without using the restroom. After a while I saw him leave the restroom and go back into the kitchen. Very odd.

The food and service was superb. I only gave it four stars because of the anxiety I experience in small places. However, they do have outdoor seating which is spacious.My first visit here was take out, which was handled in reasonable time(given that I did not order ahead). I ordered French toast and a 3 egg white omelet with spinach,feta, and tomatoes. The portion was bigger than expected and the taste was really good. Definitely recommend this spot to locals and tourists alike. Another perk: all-day breakfast!

The food was average and way too expensive for the quality and time you had to wait to receive it.Many customers were complaining about how long it took and over cooked eggs.The interior definitely needs a upgrade and still doesnt justify the price of the food served.There are many other breakfast options available within a few miles. Id choose them first.

Food was horrible. Went for breakfast. Bacon was grease filled, scrambled eggs tasted like powder and the hash browns very flavorless.

Old place but very clean, good service. The food was worth it, big portions. We would definitely go again.

5 of us at breakfast. Quick attentive friendly waitresstook our order. Shortly thereafter we were treated to one of the best overall breakfasts - anywhere! Pancakes were uniquely thick, fluffy, and had a rich unique taste. Waffles were as we all hope for - great flavor, nice firm outside while perfectly done inside. Thick flavorful bacon strips. Biscuits and gravy with rich slightly spicy sausage flavor gravy. Scrambled eggs were definitely farm fresh eggs whipped and served hot. Prices are ridiculously reasonable. Adequate parking on both front and rear of building. Honestly, you can take the “Best of the Rest” from other Cape breakfast spots and not equal our dining experience.

The food was not that good. The waitress was great. They over charge for their food. And I was also charged over $5.00 on my payment.

The breakfast menu had a nice variety of options and the coffee was nice and hot! Convenient parking in the front and plenty of parking in the back. It was a busy Saturday which was nice to see!

Today was mine and my wife’s first time visiting South Cape Diner. Absolutely great service! Everyone is so friendly. Portions are big. I ordered the French toast meal which comes with French toast (obviously 😉), choice of meat and two eggs. The two eggs that came with my meal looked more like four so I’m not kidding when I say they give big portions. I advise you go and have your own great experience. We will be going back again soon.

First time here and what a wonderful place. Service was awesome and so were the people. Especially one particular gentleman who sat in the back corner booth who is a regular. Paid it forward he said, he bought the breakfast for all of us at our table. God Bless this kind gentleman. Went over to personally thank him and turns out we had some things in common like where we grew up.

Horrible. Would not reccommend. The inside of my breakfast burrito was cold. I was ASKED if I wanted salsa and sour cream and said yes with NO mention of it being an additional $2 charge. Waitress never came to check on our table once. Dropped off the food then came back to drop off the check. No refills. Just overall poor experience. Very disappointed.

Loved loved loved the special that day, lemon pancakes w choice of meat and eggs! So good! Not good was how long we waited for our food. Granted, we were warned that they only had 1 cook and it was Saturday morning. 1 hour to get food. My complaint is that I could swear a couple single and doubles got their food before our 5 top that came in later. It should have been in order, not unless a regular comes in.

Tried this place last week. Walked in and were greeted within seconds and seated in half a minute.I read reviews saying that meals took a long time, so intentionally timed our food from the moment we began ordered to the moment it was sat on the table. It took a few seconds over 9 minutes. That is more than acceptable.Drinks were kept filled and the staff seemed extremely friendly. You definitely get a good amount of food for the money. Food quality was actually really good. Almost reminiscent of those old South Jersey diners that I grew up on.Overall, 4 out of 5 is really good. I will definitely go there again.

Very good place to have breakfast. We found it by accident, because we had our dog with us and needed outside seating.We all had omelettes and eggs benedict and were very happy with it. Stuff was very friendly and took good care of us. Even the dog. 😊

If youre looking for a small town style diner in the city this is the place. Excellent food every time we come. Only complaint is the furniture needs updating!

Ordered eggs Benedict to go. Also asked for extra hollandaise sauce. When I got there servers were no where to be found. After 5 minutes they came out. When I got home not only was there no extra hollandaise sauce but there was none on my eggs! Hash browns were half burned. I gave it a 2 because I also ordered a grilled chicken salad which was pretty good.

If you like dense biscuits, youll love their biscuits and gravy. The chicken fried steak was really good. Of course, you can never go wrong with coffee and bacon!

Worst customer service I have ever seen. I was at the diner today with my wife and two young kids. Upon enterung, the waiter informed us of 30 mins wait and we ordered. After 45 mins, she came back saying they have a large phone order the food will be out in another 20 mins. At this point, with hungry kids, I had no choice to leave. The waiter was neithet apologetic not care that we were leaving. Even if food is 5 star, Id not go here again.

Ordered pancakes from the healthy options section. They were slathered in canned pie filling and soggy. When we mentioned it, we were told tough, you ordered it. Never heard of a restaurant that didnt stand behind their food.

Home fries were really good. All of our eggs had a green tint and when we asked about it, we were told its because they microwave the cheese on the eggs. Not sure how that would turn the eggs green, or why you would microwave the eggs, but we werent too happy about the explanation.

Excellent find even though it didnt come up on my search. My mom had the Cesar salad with a ton of chicken. I had a few I was thinking of and the very helpful waitress suggested the Tuna Melt. She did not steer me wrong! Very good, well be back!

Constantly delicious with the best service!! The portions are huge, we split the Turkey egg white omelet and add some veggies - they have the best homemade salsa - try it!!

This place needs remodeling and repair SO badly that its frustrating BECAUSE they have the BEST staff, are packed for breakfast and the food is usually so good. We have only done breakfast so far, but my husband does that every morning without fail.

So I was hoping this would be a hidden gem, but... The staff was very unorganized, not know who had what tables and yelling across the restaurant several times to each other to try and figure it out. Most of my wifes meal was unbeatable. The bacon looked as though it had been pre cooked and reheated in the microwave the scrambled were flat folded eggs now what most people in the south would call scrambled. So of course they tasted pretty much like cooking grease. The cheese that was on the eggs was definitely processed out of a bag cheese so much so that it had a powdery greedy taste to it. Although the pancakes were okay. I heard someone in the restaurant ask if the orange juice was fresh-squeezed and if not what kind of orange juice was it? The answer given was, you know orange juice in the gallon. So needless to say I probably will not eat here again.

UPDATEHad to change my review. Now I do love the food and the staff is nice, but I am starting to feel nickel-and-dimed eating here. My wife ordered a breakfast burrito, which didnt come with salsa. When she asked for a side of salsa, we were charged $1.25. For salsa. With a breakfast burrito. That and the service charge that is tacked on to every bill will force me to evaluate other options for breakfast. Theres no disclosure about the service charge ahead of time, so it feels sneaky and the charge for a side of salsa is not appropriate. I totally get that COVID has hit these local restaurants hard and that they are trying to survive, but these types of things are over and above what other establishments are doing. I especially do not care for the lack of disclosure of all fees prior to ordering. Its disappointing at a minimum and also and unethical in my opinion.Prior Review FollowsAbsolutely love breakfast here. South Cape Diner, Cape Coral Pkwy, Cape Coral,Fl. Here is some chatter and my 2 cents on the food.I have been here before and been a happy trooper. But alas this time I saw a sign asking for a cook. I should have left.Service and staff over all was excellent. Ah but the food. !!!I decided on the comfort food.Meatloaf,mash taters and cole slaw. 10 bucks.....Oh so wrong. First the cole slaw. Though it was fresh and crunchy it was just horrible with a very sour vinegar dressing.There was no mash potatoe. The potatoe were out of the box with too much liquid... It was like eating runny malt-o-meal.The gravy was box too.Tasted very good. Dark color but no bits of beef to be seen.The meat loaf was like a slice of dark rye bread. Heavy tasted horrible.I will be back but once a new cook is here.

Great food, great price. There is an extra percentage charge if you pay using plastic means (debit, credit) but still a fair price. I had a giant chicken wrap with honey mustard and fries. 9 bucks for a giant burrito and the best fries I ever had. Will go again for some of my late shifts since I arrive in the area at 1pm

Found this place a few months ago, I bring my family or come alone, it’s now my favorite place in the cape. The staff are so friendly and welcoming. The food is delicious. One of my favorites in the morning is the oatmeal with fresh berries, their chef/owner makes it fresh every morning. Love this place.. Keep in mind folks when dining anywhere during season at restaurant in Florida, there will be a wait, be patient, it’s definitely worth the wait at Cape Coral diner, Highly recommend!!

Fast friendly service, clean and distanced dining room. The menu was pretty basic for the breakfast side which is what we had. The food came out quickly and was tasty. We would go back if we travel to cape coral in the future.

We have been coming to the South Cape Diner for several years. We went back the first day opened when they were at 25% capacity and we were very pleased with the procedures for safety they were using. Went back the second week and to be very honest it will be the last time to spend our money there. They changed their protocols. Left condiments on table and offering coffee while cleaning others peoples dirty dishes. Brought ketchup and hot sauce in original bottles, not individual containers for safety. In addition, I believe it was either the owner or manager...he broke a neon sign and then loudly swore. There were several tables occupied. While frustrating I am sure, he should recognize he finally had paying customers in his establishment. To top it off, there was fruit flies everywhere...there was the previous week to but thought it might be a one off. Given the COVID non safety procedures, literally swatting fruit flies when we ate, and the non professional manner of the manager, we will not be back. Lots of other places trying to comply with safety procedures.
