I think they rip people off i needed to make a payment so I wouldnt loose my TV so I called in to see if I could make a payment and found out cash only which I thought was messed up cause I was already on the road on my way to Massachusettss to help my sis move home so I lost my TV for 40 bucks.But you should still tell your customers that its cash only when its time to make a payment so we know to come in earlier thats all im saying so people dont loose their stuff thank you have a bless day

Dont pawn and expect to sell later. They cheated me out of $1,000.When I took my wedding ring set in, the appraisal was $2,000 to sell. I chose to pawn for $1,000 instead. Unfortunately my financial circumstances didnt get better, so I went back in to sell the rings. The same guy told me the initial appraisal was wrong, and they couldnt give me the other $1,000. I went back a few weeks later, and they had my ring set on sale for $4,000. A very tough and sad moment in my life was made even more disappointing thanks to this experience.

Come in every chance I get. They really treat people right . Be They understand that its hard out here and go out of there way to help you get the most for your loans. They always help me get the most out the money I spend there. Keeps me coming back. Recommend you stop in and check out their goods. Though times mean we need come together. I was searching for a wedding ring and found one (because of an employee who took the extra time to bring one out to show me that wasnt in the case) I found a really good deal here, rather than having to pay three or four times the price in a jewelry store. They sized it for no cost because it was too small. Me and my fiancée both fell in love with this ring. Im not sure exactly what happened with the sizing the first time because I was sized the time before when I was in, but they sent it back to resize and did not charge me for sizing again. It only took a week to get it back and it looks beautiful!! I am a very happy customer and was very satisfied with the friendliness of all the employees.

Really good selection. A lot of cool artwork, and they occasionally get very niche items. Just make sure you know what youre talking about when you go in there. Two guys got very upset with me, because I didnt know something about what I was pawning. I didnt know much about my item, and they snapped at me. I just was trying to get a grasp on what they were telling me, and since I didnt understand it right away, they got incredibly hostile. Ive never had an experience like this, and it was really upsetting : / I still really like this place. I guess I just have to watch how I word things there. I guess their employees just dont have much patience. And thats okay. To each their own.

Ill give it 3 stars. Place was clean, big... Not very many items in the knife and gun department... the one item I looked at was nearly double in price vs what I found online.Took some watches in for them to look at. Did my research like they do before going in thinking I knew ballpark what they would offer. The one gentleman wouldnt even look me in the eye, didnt like that at all.. Seemed very disinterested in me and my items. They offered me about 25% of what I thought was fair, I know its a pawn shop, but it was a really really low ball offer.. I now know why their inventory is as low as it seemed. Overall not a bad place. More personable employees would be nice. They wouldnt negotiate at all. I wont go back..

I teach 6-8th grade at Youngstown city. One of my students really likes playing the drums, but the family does not have the money to afford his own to practice on at home. I stopped by to see if they had any drums for sale that I could get for him to use over the summer. After telling the worker the story as to what I was looking for, they decided to give a snare drum free of charge. They are really nice people, who care about the community.

I would not recommend for a lone they do not pay out and want top dollar for what they got in there and they ripped some poor guy or lady off to get it no good

My fiancé is a teacher at Youngstown city schools. He has a kid who plays the drums, but unfortunately due to his at home situation the kids family could not afford his own drum to practice at home. I suggested we look in a pawn shop to see if we could find a used drum to donate to the kid. To our surprise when we explained our situation to the owner, he donated a snare drum to us free of charge. It is awesome to see someone caring about the community and donating what they can to someone in need! We will definitely come back in the future if we ever need something!

I have a 24k white gold 3 karat real diamond engagement ring and the dude at Ohio gold and paws tried to tell me something completely different considering I have my original paperwork.. he tried to loan me 130.00 bucks.. what a bunch of rip offs.. I will never go back there or recommend them to anyone, I had to give them a 1 star or they would have gotten none. Do not take your jewelry or guns they, they try to low ball the hell out of you...

I wish I could go back in time and never step foot in this store. WARNING. They mishandled my appraisal request, and dropped a mint state sealed coin on the floor out of its case, before I even gave them permission to open the box. Very irresponsible & unprofessional, and mishandled a 1850 dollar coin. No one ever even put on gloves, and then they bullied me out the door after I refused their scrap price offer on the coin they destroyed the value of by hundreds of dollars. The crime was reported to the local police, as they were unwilling to take responsibility for any damages they had just done. The coin was handled behind the counter after cracking out of the seal and was rolling around behind the counter where I could not see, then they blamed it on bad packaging by the US mint. Yeah, sure. Never let them touch anything of value. If they damage it they will only offer you damaged prices and thug you out of the door.

First time being in a Pawn store. Absolutely amazing experience. Great stock of a wide variety of unique items. Prices were very reasonable on Silver. Staff was extremely helpful. They even place you on a list for unique items that they do not have in stock but might come across at a later time that you are interested in. Nothing but positive reviews from me.

Rated a two because the store was clean and a gentleman wished me a good day on my way out the door.Spoke to an older, balding man about price for a bridal set that Im trying to get rid of. The set has been appraised at five thousand dollars so I asked for fifteen hundred. He opened the box spent about one half a second looking at it closed it and said not even in the ballpark.I understand the need to turn a profit, but when I started looking through their jewelry cases at what looked like costume jewelry to me, diamonds barely visible, was upwards of fifteen to two thousand dollars.Absurd!Take your jewelry to a consignment shop and wait it out.

Called in to ask if they would buy a barely used and in good like new condition DJI drone. The guy that answered the phone said “we’ll look at it” and hung up in a hurry like I was causing him some great inconvenience by calling. Based off of this rude and less than one minute interaction I’m probably not going to ever go here to sell pawn or buy anything.

People do not think of selling your gold or silver here or any pawn shop etc. They offer 20% under spot price! You can easily get 20% over spot by selling on Facebook Marketplace or Craigs List.

Actually my first visit to a pawn shop and came to check out a 1963 coleman stove. Listed for $75 and was my good fortune to walk into a 20% off sale. Bought it for $60 and since it was so rare and pristine its worth well over what used versions have sold for on ebay. This collector is very happy. Gentlemen who helped me was professional and very friendly.

I chose to go here because of the volume of google reviews and the overall ranking even though it is 2 hours from where we live. Even though we did not find a wedding set as I was hoping...our trip totally paid off.My son has just gotten into coin collecting and brought along his collection to value check. The staff is knowledgeable and pleasant. A lady offered to help me at the jewelry counter after I had a chance to look a bit. A man behind the arms counter noticed my son was studying the money cases and asked if we needed help. My son was hesitant but Corey was very kind, encouraging and patient with him. He also included in the conversation, my teen daughter, who had been just along for the ride, but ended up making purchases along with my son. We were very impressed with our experience here and plan to return when my kids save their goals in allowance.Thank you Corey for not crushing my sons excitement when his collection was face value but realistically and knowledgeably embracing these young learners. My son is already planning his next purchase of coins and my daughter now collects paper money and has a hobby she is excited for.

A diamond from my wifes wedding ring fell out and got lost. We decided to sell it here and use the money towards a new ring elsewhere. I did this same thing here with my wedding ring that lost a diamond several years ago and both times I was treated very professionally and kindly.

I made the mistake of reading the reviews before I went in. The store was clean and the staff was extremely professional and helpful. Mark (longer beard) helped me and was friendly and knowledgeable about the items I was selling. I’d recommend them. 5 stars.

I came down from Akron (because, of course, none of the locations here were open), and I wasnt going on my behalf which was even more unnerving. I saw an item they had online and went in to check it out, it was exactly what I had been looking for. The guy with the beard was very helpful and honest, he even pointed out the one flaw I missed. The store looked great, not like the pawn shops down here that are full of junk, this shop has some very nice collectibles as well as a nice selection of guns. I will definitely be returning next time I am in Canton.

Guy was extremely mean and rude. A couple months ago I had a ar-15 sent to them from a online store. They called me when the gun came in and when I returned the phone call the guy was extremely rude. I asked him if the gun came in and he replied in a mean way didnt you get my voice mail. As if asking him that question annoyed him. I came in to get the gun and he wasnt polite at all! When I would ask him a question about the gun he would look at me in a mean way and he would cry about everything he had to do in the store. DO NOT GO THROUGH THIS STORE for a ffl transfer!!!! A quality store threats their customers with respect!!! This guy Im talking about makes you feel extremely uncomfortable and you can tell hes a bully. Go through a different store even if it costs more money!! I swear Im telling the truth!! this guy is a idiot..

It only takes one person to give you that lasting first impression of a business, and from the previous poor reviews here, Id say its the same person I dealt with. Tall thin guy w/salt and pepper hair. I was the only customer in at the time and this guy made me feel like I was a total inconvenience. I had several pieces of jewelry to appraise, and he became extremely impatient when I was showing them one at a time. He took my box and dumped everything on the counter and quickly went threw them as if on an assembly line. First time in a pawn shop. Next time Ill go to a jeweler. And puleeeze, no lame reply from the owner stating to contact him to discuss it, as he appears to always do here. Its gotta be known how this guy is and yet you choose to keep him. Besides, hes probably one of the owners.

I have bought about $2000 worth of merchandise from Ohio Gold and Pawn in the last 2 years. A hand gun, some electronics, jewelry and tools. Their prices were always fair and the items were quality. This is why they didnt get one star.When selling in the past I have been fortunate that the owner was in the building. He worked with me and I felt like I was treated fairly. Today I brought in $900 worth of merchandise. 30 easy to sell quickly on Ebay items. The man at the cash register asked what I wanted. I said $375. He went to a man with glasses who offered $150. I said that I couldnt go that low. They were selling on Ebay for $40 each and even after fees and packaging they would make $30 each. A tidy profit of $17.50 each. He stated that he only offered the $150 because it is the holidays. WHAT?!He walked away and ignored me. I left and will not be back. I took them to the Exchange and they gave me $375 cash. They offered $450 store credit.Sorry Ohio Gold and Pawn. I wont be back. I expect to be conversed with in a respectful manner.

I have never shopped at or sold anything to a pawn shop so I didn’t know what to expect. I had a ton of old jewelry that had been sitting around for years. I didn’t really want to deal with Facebook or Letgo so I figured something was better than nothing. I read reviews on tons of places very leery of “pawn shops”. This place had great reviews and they were right. Very nice store and the employees were knowledgeable and very nice. I got more than I expected after my research on pricing. They are great and I would definitely go back there again.

Very stiff on prices if you want to know what they will offer search your stuff just search Ebay and they give 50% of what the cheapest it sold for on Ebay..... I get its easy for the less knowing people but really every person in there should specialize in at least one section of the store.... still they have given some decent deals but seems just a bit too cut and dry for a pawn shop that I is based on a good deal premise

Stopped in today to sell 2 of my firearms. The employee there was( has a van dyke beard and kind of short, had dark hair/eyes, dont know his name) extremely rude and surly with me. Train your employees to look people in the eye and dont be all rude with me when i try to barter with you. Its already shameful of me to go there to sell, but i, like many others, have fallen in a bit of a rough patch. I dont appreciate this guys surly snappy attitude and looking down on the ground the whole process.EDIT: saw owners response. Appreciate the quick reply. If i ever return back here, i certainly wont be dealing with the individual i had an issue with before. Ill move my 1 star to a 3 and if i come back to have a good experience with professional, courteous people, i may move it to a 5. Then Ill start recommending this place to my network.

Very poor management. I went in to purchase a wedding band set for our 30th anniversary. I picked out a set but wanted to get the wifes blessing so I told the manager I would bring her back to see the set. He (Mark Van Pelt) told me to call and they would set the rings aside for me. They did not mention any money down or anything. I called back and talked to Mark at 3;41pm and told him we would be in at opening or before noon to make a decision. We got there soon after opening at 10:30am and the rings had been sold. I was very upset at their dishonesty and let it be know before I left. Mark told me not to come back, you can guarantee that. Do not give this place your business.

I came in to check out a watch they had listed on Craigslist, and when I arrived, they told me it had just sold. Something about the way they said it made me feel like they werent telling the truth. So, I bought a different watch almost a month ago...And the Craigslist ad for that one is STILL live today. So, the lesson is they really dont pay attention to their online listings, and they dont care at all if you drive all the way up there for an item that they sold a month ago but never bothered to take offline.
