I must admit I was a large fan of this store, as a matter of fact I had been feeling guilty because I had been going to other larger business in Oregon City. So I decided to change it up and support a store this weekend. However to my surprise I had a rather bad experience this Sunday afternoon. Now I am Premier Status at Ace, and this is because I am a local Canby community member and a home owner. Today I had to come back to Ace for a second trip because what I purchased wasnt just right for what I needed. While I was looking at something I overheard the nice lady at the paint counter say the young gentleman Isnt that the man they followed out of the store earlier. I am an electrical engineer and I have never stolen anything in my life, I have no idea what I could have done to be subjected to profiling, I actively engaged with the staff while I was in the store earlier and I left paying with everything I had gathered. Now I have worked in retail (once upon a time) and I did not do anything that should have alarmed anyone that I would have been committing theft and then to have announced so clearly in front of me, I am deeply offended. I have spent a great deal of money at this store in the last year. It has been my go-to because it is just down the street, and sure it might cost a little more but it feels more like a community store then going to one of the larger big box home improvement store. However, I will be taking my business to another establishment. Caveat emptor: if you wear your dirty weekend work overalls to Ace the employees might follow you out.

If employees are going to speak rudely about a customer, consider doing so where the customer can’t hear it…

Always friendly and knowledgeable (except for this one time an assistant was incredulous i believed countersunk washers were real, which made for a fun story).For a relatively small footprint, they carry 99% of the items I need for home upkeep, maintenance, and repair.

I appreciate the paint options, the staff was helpful in picking a color and the appropriate size of can for what I needed. There seems to be quite a few sales going on for interior and exterior decorating. I also love the eclectic fun and even whimsical impulse items near the check out.

I go there all the time I wish they were a little bigger but for a small Corner Store Ace they got enough supplies to get you down almost any River the employees are very friendly and helpful they go from gardening to Plumbing decorative decor installation electrical supplies paints power tools and some welding supply if youre in the projects you will not leave that place empty-handed

I needed spare keys for my personal locking mailbox. The first two keys made would not open the mailbox even though they stated that they special order the blank keys specifically for mailboxes. Took the keys back the next day. I was informed that they were cut incorrectly and they would make new keys. The new keys also would not open the mailbox. Today I took the keys back to Ace and asked for a key specialist. Bethany was the only employee available at the time. She said she was not a specialist, but would be happy to look at them. She determined that it was not the key pattern that was incorrect but the thickness of the blanks. After numerous filing attempts and burnt fingers, she produced two perfect keys. Thank you Bethany for the extra time and effort. It was greatly appreciated.

Great ! They always seem to have what I needed. Everybody is super nice and helpful.

Do not enforcing masks. When we asked why a woman nearby did not have a mask on, the employee told us they are privately owned and do not have to enforce the mask rule. I wear my mask to protect others, they should mask for me. Masking will keep some businesses open, and should be enforced.

These guys are great & have an integrity level rarely found these days with retailers. If they dont have the correct product, they wont try to sell you something that will compromise the integrity of your project. They also wont attempt to sell you the most expensive product if a less costly will do just as good a job. If a better product can be found elsewhere, they wont hesitate to point you that direction. Their associates will never claim to know something if they dont. In short... theyre honest and genuinely do want to help their customers.While you can find similar products at big box stores for cheaper, youll save far more going here in the long run. Their products arent garbage & their staff actually does care about making sure youre purchasing what you need.Ive never had a bad experience there & feel like Ive gotten to know the staff quite well. Great folks. Great products. Great service.

I was there looking for something to put on my stairs so that they wouldnt be slippery and I found what I was looking for they had everything that I need it I was in and out in a few minutes everyone was friendly the store was kept up nice everyone was wearing masks the store was really clean

I call this store my team because they almost always have what I need in stock.

Have had many positive experiences at this store but this past experience showed how involved they are with our community. I forgot an item in the parking lot this week. I realized that I had forgotten it when I got home but before I finished unloading my truck, my phone rang with an employee letting me know that they had my product at their front desk. Two things. One, the people at this store are so trusted that someone would carry a 20 pound item across the parking lot hoping they would get it to the right person. Amazing in my opinion!! Two , in these times taking the time to look up who could have purchased the item and contacting them is above and beyond. I am not surprised by this stores employees actions but am sincerely touched.Jim 5/21/2020

I walk with a walker I tripped in front of Ace Hardware there I was l could not get up and [ying on the ground out came Mr Hesse,Ginny and a nice young man they took me into the store and ended up the owner took me home. When I am in the store most of the staff is very nice and helpful.However, about a month ago, I went in to get some paint. the gentleman in the paint dept. seemed less than enthused about helping me.Hard to describe, but, he never asked me if he could help me when he saw me looking around in the paint dept. He acted like he really did not want to take the time to mix the color of paint I wanted.As a matter of fact, I ended up having to ask him for his help.while I was waiting for the paint I looked around the store and everyone else was friendly and asked if I needed anything. Too bad, in the specific dept I went to first I did not have the same customer service.There does seem to be another issue in the last few months I realize that new employees get hired and may not know the answers to all customer questions. however would you think that they should be trained to ask a more experienced employee or if there is not one available. Hopefully they have a way to look up information. Or at least take the customers number and have someone call back with an answer. My phone experiences lately have not been helpful, sometimes it is more convenient to call ahead so you know you are not wasting your time for an unnecessary trip.

I was looking for pool filter sand which you can find online but not in any stores. Staff was so nice and helpful and had everything I needed. Will definitely be a repeat customer.

I will go here first before anywhere else. 98% of the time they have what I need and I dont have to wander all over the place trying to find it (Home Depot/Lowes). Good people who are knowledgeable is also a huge plus.

This is a great store with a very helpful staff. The plumbing story??? If they dont have what I need they order it and usually comes in three days. Great paint department and window screen repair service. Best store in Canby.

The staff is friendly and most have been there a long time and are very knowledgeable about there product. This is a smaller store and there inventory reflects that. This is an Ace Hardware and holds to their name (for me it is seldom to find a bad Ace Hardware). I my opinion this is the best store in town.
