Overall the store itself is convenient because it’s right in town and in walking distance but the employees are always so extremely rude and miserable. There are a couple kind employees but mostly the managers are just nasty to customers. The closing manager Jess was so inappropriate while I was checking out Thursday night (9/16) she treated me poorly and then while I was walking to the door she said to the customers in line “it’s okay I know her” and I stopped and asked “you know me?” Because I don’t know her at all. She replied “I know your mom” so she continued to tell the customers personal details about my life that she has no business knowing let alone gossiping about. So unprofessional it makes me sick. No point in even calling to report it because most of the managers either don’t care or will just make the situation worse. They work for each other, not to help the paying customer. A manager should never behave in that kind of manner. They need to do a better job evaluating and screening their employees.

For fast service without crowded fair price

This store is not as well kept as other Dollar General stores in the area at all. Sometimes the wait for a cashier to show up to the register just to cash you out takes a while. It is very cluttered and unorganized. No automatic handicap doors make it very difficult for anyone in a wheelchair, on crutches, or any kind of walking assistance to get in or out. Which also makes using a shopping cart difficult as well.

Respectable staff.Only thing is their Vendors need to keep up with the price changes.Its embarrassing; getting up to cash out and your total is more then you have.

Had all the little snack items. That I needed for my son and I. Store was clean,and looked like. They just received a shipment. To replenish what they needed.

Great store that never disappoints me. Its about as good of a convenience store as you can get. Its crazy how they just appear out of nowhere!

Dollar General is a good discount store on the main thing about the one we have is that they have brand name items at reduced prices. Last time I was there I was able to pick up a 2L Coca-Cola item such as Coke, Sprite Diet A&W for a dollar. In a time where prices are rising quickly its good to be able to get a good discount on items and not have to buy in bulk. The store is worth the trip.

Seemed to be very crowded with stock sitting around. But pretty clean and had the products I needed to get.

I love this store. Its right around the corner from my apartment. The staff is friendly, unlike the staff at Newark dollar general. Those people enjoy targeting and accusing innocent people of stealing.

Every time I try to stop here, the line is super long and there’s only one cashier. In the off chance that there isn’t a line, I have to stand at the counter waiting forever for the cashier to be done with running the whole store by herself in order to get checked out. Whoever runs this establishment needs to staff it correctly. This is a disgrace.

Just what youd expect from a typical Dollar General. I only stop occasionally, but always seem to have the bad luck of going in when the bus has just dropped off a load of shoppers all at once. The last two times I stopped in, this has been the case. The staff seems nice and helpful and its no fault of their own, and maybe I just have REALLY bad luck and this hardy happens at all but Ive happened to catch it both of the last times. But overall a nice store and normally they move you through quickly, unless you have MY luck! lol

Usually has what I want for reasonable amount.

This store is small, cluttered and hard to get around. Trying to get a cart into the store through the doors is almost impossible. Boxes in the midst of unpacking are in the aisles. Also runs out of most things on sale due to small shelf space. The employees are nice and polite but Canandaigua definitely needs a new store. I will drive further to go to one in another area.

Dollar General in Canandaigua needs to clean up the store a bit and do some refurbishing. Also, no bathrooms is a turn off!!
