Best, best best quilt store around! Beautiful fabrics, always and only the best! So knowledgeable, helpful, and caring folks who are there too. Always meeting other wonderful sewists there too. They also do such quality long arm quilting there as well. Can hardly wait for their classes to come back. Unfortunately, those are on hold until the pandemic stuff has passed and its allowed again.

I am amazed at the design sense of the long arm quilters at Golden State! I usually leave the pattern and thread color to the long arm quilters choice. Its like a gift when I pick up my quilt and see what they did with the long arm quilting. So, yesterday I picked up several quilts. Their choice of pattern, thread color ...and even the size of the pattern to match the quilt design...elevated the level of artistry of my quilts.I love this quilt store. You can never get to the bottom of all of the kits, fabric and notions that they have. The staff are very knowledgeable and pleasant. I routinely get color consults from the staff when I am stuck which is often.

I placed an order online for some fabric. They did not have the amount that they had listed available, so I asked them to cancel the order. The order was cancelled and says that I was refunded, however I was not refunded the total amount that I paid. I have reached out several times via email asking for this to be corrected, and have been ignored every time. It has been over 2 weeks with no response or correction. Definitely shady behavior and with this being my first experience here, I won’t be ordering again.

Went on n there today with my ten year old. We were thinking about learning to sew and quilt. We needed the basics to get started and purchased our tools. They were very friendly and seemed genuinely excited that we were beginners. The lad at the counter was very friendly and helpful. Definitely worth stopping in this cute shop.

New to quilting, the staff are caring and helpful to new learners... and the fabric choices are endless!

My mom went into this place and asked if they had quilting classes, and I guess the lady she spoke to was very rude and short with her when she told her no. Like your job much lady? If not, get another one and leave yours for someone who will!

Golden State has the best selection of Kaffe Fassett in the Bay Area -- worth the drive. They also carry Cherrywood hand-dyed quilting cotton.
