Just picked up a Rack It rack.Thought I would share that I received terrible customer service from the woman who answers the phone. Shell reluctantly help you and make it clear by her tone that she has better things to do than help answer questions about a $1700+ product you have already ordered. Couldnt be bothered to send more info about finish options. One of my welds looks likes its dripping and should have been finished out before powder coating.Their sales and distribution people in the Seattle are are completely useless. Penalized me for their mistakes and marred my truck on install.Sucks to see a good American product so tarnished by bad sales and customer service people.
I’ve had my truck rack for about 10 yrs now. Very solid. Made in USA!! Purchased used on Craigslist. Made some small modifications and had a Gold Powdercoat done. Looks fantastic! I like the fact that the weight is evenly distributed across the top of my truck bed with 6’ of angle iron.Have recently purchased a wind deflector for the front tube just over the cab to cut down on wind noise. I’m assuming an issue with all racks.

As racks go, they are the best but the wind noise begins at 20mph! So they suggested their wind deflector which I bought for over $100, a complete waste of money! There is no way any engineering or professional design went into this product which is surprising considering how long the wind noise issue has been. Something tells me a first year aeronautics student in college would say duh! Make it this way.Do not spend a dime on this product.
Ive been using Rack-It lumber racks since the late 80s. If I bought a used truck with a different rack on it, I always had to replace it. These are stout. American made quality racks. The flimsy Chinese ones are dangerous for putting any weight on. I own a small family construction company and after bending the cheap junk early on, Ive insisted on Rack-It. I was at the manufacturing location and took a few pictures of the shop. Ive included them here...

I have used these racks on 4 different trucks over the last 15 years and very satisfied with design. I have had my local powder coat guy strip and coat because the factory coating does not hold up well.
We have installed many of these racks for our customers. The Rack-it team has pride in their finished product as well as service after the sale!
