This place has the rudest people working there. The don’t allow you to take pictures in the store and pretty rude about it. They lost a sale and could have cared leas

Went on a vacation with my parents to Maine. My dad wanted a Maine ballcap, and we were gobna grab some T-shirts so we stopped at this gift shop, it was one of the only ones open. The prices were very high, which is normal for tourist traps. I saw an art section and needed a pen for note taking. In the pen section there was a white plank covered in drawings and signatures, this is common in stores near the pens so you can test how they write. There was no opening to write anything so I grabbed 2 different types of pens to see how thick they wrote. Again it was so full of writing that there was nowhere for me to out anything so I colored in the openings in the letters of a word on it. I noticed a woman standing behind me, I assumed she thought I was shoplifting, so I ignored her and switched pens. Then she rose her voice and asked why I was vandalizing the display... I was confused I said oh, no, Im just testing it. She was very loud and angry, asked why I thought it was acceptable to act like a child and vandalize her property. I said, Its literally so drawn on I could fit anything if I tried. She replied Just because everyone is else is breaking the law that means you can?.... breaking the law? Really? I explained that there is usually a surface like this near the pens to test them out. She was still shouting and angry, told me to put the pens back and again called me a child.The other employees were so happy and nice, it was a shock when she came over and started berating me. Obviously I put the pen back, and had my parents put back a hat, 2 t shirts and a hoodie. They lost a near $100 sale by berating a customer. She could simply asked me to stop. It was already completely covered, its like getting a ticket for spilling water at the beach.

Always had great service. Owners are extremely helpful and nice. Unfortunately, they have to deal with entitled, rude tourists all day.

When I asked the lady at the counter if she still carried it, she was quite surly and said they no longer carried it. I put my Christmas card purchase on the counter and paid for it, no thank you, nothing. Rudest woman I have ever encounteredIf she works for you, you may wish to replace her. If she owns the store, she may want to consider selling. You really arent doing anyone a favor by selling them things with your horrendous attitude.
