Mo Noor is an absolute treasure to visit and work with. We were looking for a unique Persian rug to complement our living room space and found Noor by chance. Mo invited us into his shop, gave us tea and treats. He made great conversation about the history, rug types and details about care and cleaning. We eventually bought a rug from him, from which all of the proceeds went to his charity work he does in Cambridge. Couldn’t be happier with our rug and our experience with Noor, and would happily recommend him for purchases and repairs!

Mr. Nooares oriental rugs are absolutely stunning. You are able to find so many unique rugs with beautiful colors. There are many different types of statement designs and pieces that can really pull a house together. It is truly an experience finding and purchasing a rug at this store. I cant wait to buy more!

I contacted several people to discuss the cleaning and repair of my Persian carpet. Mr. Noor was the most credible and easily the most gracious. He took his time to unfold the rug and examine it and provided a reasonable quote for what was needed. When I got the rug back, it looked as good as new. I am so pleased with the service that Noor Oriental Rugs provided and would recommend them without reservation.

I have had the pleasure of spending time with Mr. Noorae these last few months during my work as a volunteer with the Sufi Service Committee, a charity organization he has been engaged with for many years. During my time spent at the store, I have witnessed Mr. Noorae conduct his business with a fastidiousness, honesty, etiquette, friendliness and personal touch that is truly special. I contacted Noor Rugs to pick up and clean my rugs. To my surprise Mr. Noor came in person and took the time to explain the cleaning and repairs that were needed to restore my rugs. It took awhile but the end result was amazing. Thank you Mr. Noor for your outstanding work. Anyone needing oriental rug cleaning or repair this is the place to go.

We had three beautiful silk rugs that we purchased in India about a decade ago. One of them had been damaged, unfortunately. About an inch of one edge separated in a couple of places because a chair had been run back and forth over it. We brought all three rugs to Noor Oriental Rugs to be cleaned, and to have the damaged rug repaired. Mr. Noor set our expectations about how long it would take to clean and repair, and he beat that time by at least a month. As for the repair, we cant even tell where it was. All three rugs look like new. Were very happy with everything Mr. Noor has done.

Such a delightful experience, even in the midst of a pandemic. Mr. Noor was so accommodating, thoughtful and kind. Our rugs had been in storage, we knew they needed to be cleaned before putting them down. The work Mr. Noor and his team did on our nearly 50 year old rugs was amazing , they were cleaned with such care! When we put down our beautifully cleaned rugs, the colors seemed to burst from the threads. We did not remember them being so vibrant. It has completely changed our living space. We had a 9x 12 beautiful Oriental Rug we decided to replace. The problem was : how do we get it out of our home and donate it to someone else who could enjoy it. Noor came to the rescue. They were very professional and friendly, and came to our house exactly when they said they would, and efficiently took the rug from our living room and loaded it onto their vehicle. They gave me a paper acknowledging my donation as well. I would recommend them highly!

I cant say enough about this company and the kind and generous man who runs it. Not only did he do an excellent job with cleaning a rug I accidentally poured olive oil on, but he also works very hard to help those in our community who need it most. Took my heirloom 9x12 oriental rug to be cleaned, and couldnt be happier with the whole experience. Mr Nooraee was incredibly transparent about the entire cleaning and conditioning process, and even taught me about the provenance of my rug and the history of its design. The results were even better than I had hoped for, especially since this rug has seen a bit of abuse over the years.

I dont typically review things, but this unassuming rug shop blew me away. After driving past it countless times, I finally stopped in when searching for a small rug. I had spent who knows how many hours sifting through countless mass-produced options on Wayfair etc., but couldnt bring myself to pop on something that I couldnt see/feel (also couldnt pronounce any of the materials used to make the rugs). Plus, Im always happy to be able to support/learn about a small biz. Mr. Noor was super knowledgable and passionate... even detailed (using a map!!) where/how my rug was made. The rug he helped me select is perfect not only in terms of the look/size, but also in construction/quality. Now, knowing what goes into the making of an authentic rug, Im not worried about it holding up to household traffic.... which is a welcome and pleasant surprise, because I was dreading having another item in the house (like my light colored velvet couch) to worry about someone ruining/spilling on. Will 100% visit again next time Im looking for a rug, and thankfully wont waste another minute scrolling on the big aggregator sites. Sidenote: I also found in Noor Rugs -- a perfect destination for clothing/furniture/etc. donations! They have an entire room full of business attire, winter coats etc. that they give directly to those in need.

I brought an Afghan rug that I bought at a consignment store to Mr. Noor to be cleaned. Mr. Noor identified the rug for me, we chatted about other topics (he organizes volunteer work with local shelters and is generally an interesting man to chat with), he gave me a fair price and did a wonderful job on the rug. I took my Iranian rug to Noor for cleaning. In addition to being a very sweet and welcoming man, Mr. Nooraee has a deep and intimate knowledge of his craft; he was able to identify the region from which it came by its design and shape.The results of the cleaning were spectacular, Id say it was like new, but I dont remember it ever having looked this good.

This place deserves 10 stars! I recently moved to Boston and was in need of a rug to make my space feel more home-y. I connected with Mr. Mo Nooraee (owner of the shop) and he listened very intently about the type of rug I was looking for (color, size, design). He welcomed me to stop by the shop to look over some options, however, I told him that I was fairly busy and wasnt quite sure when Id be able to visit. To my surprise, he offered to bring a few rugs to my place! All of the rugs were quite beautiful and were just what I was looking for. It was so hard to choose just one! On top of that, he went even further by offering to hand wash my rug with green shampoo, and then deliver it to me!Overall, my experience with Noor Rugs was convenient and enjoyable. Mo is a solid guy who genuinely strives to make everyone he meets happy.P.S. Noor also has a charity campaign to end homelessness among women and children! Pretty cool, right?!

My wife and I feel very fortunate to live with a number of Persian rugs that we have collected over the years. When one of them, that is about 100 years old, was in need of repairs we began to do research to see who we could trust to do a top notch job. Fortunately we found Mo Nooraee of Noor Oriental Rugs in Cambridge MA. They are extremely knowledgeable and their work is outstanding, all done by hand, so you should expect it to take some time - there are no rush jobs or inappropriate lower quality short cuts in Mos world. I took two rugs in to get cleaned and was very happy with the results. They are very friendly and explained the whole process. It was clear they truly understood the how the rugs were made and the best way to clean them (especially to avoid any bleeding of the dyes). I purchased an elegant runner from Noor Oriental. Mo was extremely helpful in picking the right one as he had an incredible assortment of styles, colors, sizes, and finishes. After always passing by Noor oriental rugs store on my way home from work I finally decided to pull the trigger and take my rugs in. I have not seen my rugs this clean in years! Mo is incredibly gracious. I work for a local charity thrift store -- Noor donated a number of beautiful rugs that have been a boon to our cause.Beyond providing us with beautiful hand-crafted carpets, they went to the extra effort and expense of meticulously cleaning them. This involved dusting and shampooing each one; then treating them so as to be moth-proof, deodorized, disinfected, and stain and dry rot resistant; and finally reconditioning the wool with lanolin to restore its original luster.The cleaning and restoration of these rugs dramatically increases their value. Our prettiest Persian rug got soiled on New Year’s Eve and I was afraid it got ruined. I searched in Google for professional rug cleaning and was impressed with the reviews of Noor Oriental Rugs. Although the cleaning cost more than I was planning on, I felt confident leaving it in the care of Mr Mo and his associates. I felt treated with kindness and respect and the cleaning was finished sooner than expected. I’m very happy with the result. It looks and smells clean. Definitely recommend! I was even offered breakfast when I came to pick it up!

I called Noor oriental Rugs in desperation on the Friday of the Memorial Day weekend as I had just discovered my sodden oriental rug. A sewer line which had backed up and flooded the room had not been discovered for several days, and the rug was soaked and smelly. They picked up the rug the following day, washed it and returned it to me some weeks later in excellent condition. In addition to finding Mr Nooraee and his staff very competent and efficient, I was also pleased to find them very gracious and a pleasure to deal with.

I own two Oriental Rugs that were both badly moth-eaten, cat-scratched, and dirty and had been looking for a traditional rug cleaning service. I didnt want these to be washed by a generic commercial cleaning service using harsh chemicals. After looking online I found Noor Oriental Rugs and decided to give them a call. Right from the start I was impressed by Mr. Nooraees approach to business. Aside from his vast knowledge and years of experience in the rug industry he also provided a very welcoming atmosphere to meet, drink excellent tea, and discuss not just the rugs and what needed to be done to make them beautiful again, but also what can be done to help out those less fortunate on a very practical local level. I purchase 3 rugs from Noor Oriental Rugs in the past 5 years and had my Gebbeh 8x10 cleaned. The experience couldnt be any better. When I first arrive at Noor, I was welcomed by their staffs, then a cup of Persian tea, while the staff and Mohammad (Owner) ask a few simple questions to narrow down my search for a Oriental Rug. While going through each rug, Mohammad explained the region and history of the rug in everyday English so I could understand it. In addition, Mohammad and the staff does not push on their sale even offered a trial at home to see if it works with my decor. PERSONAL SERVICE is what I am expecting if I want to spend my Money, especially over $5000.00. The reason I am here is just to look up the Noor telephone number. The review posted by real is not considered to be a review, but an insult and a harassment and there should be legal action taken against it. Whatever Mohammad and their staffs do in behind the scenes should not be cared as long as its legal. As a regular consumer, I only care about the result of a cleaning/repair and the final product. They can wash the rug in the sewer for all I care, but as long as the product that comes back to me is up to my expectation, then I will pay for it, otherwise I am sure Noor would stand by their services and products a 100%.

My grandparents left my parents many Persian rugs they had acquired while living in Teheran for over 30 years. The rugs have been distributed to children and grandchildren. I received 4 rugs which had been stored in a way that allowed moths to work on them, leaving many bare spots. I found Mohammad Nooraee and his business in my search for nearby, well-reviewed Oriental rug repairers and took all 4 to him. He helped me to understand what these rugs were worth, what they needed and the time it would take to clean and carefully repair each one. After the rugs were cleaned, he asked me back to view what kind of damage appeared once the threads the moths had destroyed were gone. Three of the rugs could be repaired, each missing thread int he pattern replaced, and the fringe restored. The fourth was too damaged to repair. He said he would give me rug in replacement, for the price I paid in expectation of repair. During the next 2.5 years, I was invited to see progress and received regular brief updates from Mohammad. I picked the rugs up recently ans was astounded at how beautiful they looked. I could see no sign of repair of the bald spots or of extensive cleaning. The rich patterns are more beautiful than I remember and once again whole.The rugs feel soft and luxuriant I am very pleased with the work. I understand why it took so long, and am glad I was patient. Thank you, Mohammad and family.

Mr. Nooraee, and his staff, have a calming effect. There is evident passion for his work, and pride in the outcome. The experience in his store feels old-fashioned - in the positive sense. Mr. Nooraee strikes me as a good man and, although there are bona-fide contracts for service, he seems like the kind of person you could likely do business with by a handshake.

I first met Mr. Mo Noor at the lovely House of Sufism in Boston where he has a weekly meditation. Mr. Mo is a gracious and most welcoming host and extremely generous. His beautiful, handwoven rugs line the floors of the three story brownstone where people come to gather each week for meditation and reflection. It is here where I learned of Mr. Mos passion and dedication for charitable work, tirelessly helping the citys less fortunate. As a young child, working under a mentor in Iran, he learned the importance of giving to others, and has continued that tradition into his adult life. Ive been coming to Mr. Mos company for a few months now, each Sunday, helping him sort clothing and other items to donate to local homeless shelters and programs for poor and low-income individuals and families. His shop is full of impeccable, painstakingly handwoven oriental rugs, of intricate, superior quality, made with love and exquisite care and skill. Mr. Mo handwashes all of the rugs entrusted to him for maintenance and cleaning. After a few moths of volunteering with his clothing drive, he surprised me with a tremendously generous gift of one of his fine oriental rugs. Not only was this above and beyond typical generosity, Mr. Mo even took my Armenian ancestry into account in choosing a design and style for the large carpet he gifted me. It has a beige/ivory background and intricate designs, made of beautiful soft blues and red shades, carefully and symmetrically placed throughout the rug, complete with tassels woven around the edges. It makes a fine addition to my bedroom and I couldnt be happier. Mr. Mo has a fantastic selection of rugs, all of which are handwoven, and a tremendous amount of patience and excellent customer service. If you are looking for a new oriental rug or need to have yours cleaned, Mr. Mo is the man you are looking for.

Very pleasant customer approach but highly overpriced. Rug cleaning was more than 3x higher for the same green, handwash service I paid elsewhere. Unless you have extra money to spend I would recommend to look elsewhere.
