Well it is time to give my latest review of my service visit. I posted three reviews in the past that reflected excellent service of this establishment. Please be mindful that Prater Ford is still awesome thus why I still gave it 5 stars but, I will elaborate on my experience further. When I brought in my 2011 Ranger I was approached by a representative named Trey. I explained the situation of what was wrong and he wrote up the ticket and I also explained that this would fall under my extended warranty. This is when things went out of control. The first thing was the way he wrote the problem up the technician only assumed part of the problem even though I made very sure that I covered all the information that was needed. Then came the warranty situation he stating I had no such warranty. This when I had to get Greg and Jim involved. They took it upon themselves to rectify what Trey could not remotely recover from. Again please let remind you that this has nothing to do with the service department. In closing as I mentioned Greg and Jim took care of everything and all was resolved and a great repair was done on my vehicle. I will continue to bring my truck by expecting the impeccable service that Prater Ford provides. I just need to bypass Trey and go straight to Greg! Again thanks Prater Ford service department.

I have bought two vehicles at Prater Ford, and have been pleased both times. On this occasion, I needed to replace the tailgate on my F150 pickup. Joe, in the body shop, helped me to find a used tailgate that was in good shape and already painted the correct color, thereby saving me about $1500. And it even has the built in step feature, unlike my original tailgate!

Very accommodating except we waited over 45 minutes past our appt time to be seen.

My car broke down. And we stopped at prater Ford for service. The owner Jim personally took care of our situation as we were driving back home to chicago. When they didn’t have the part Jim had the sound mind to pull the part we needed to get the car fixed and on our way home. Hand down southern hospitality at its finest. If you have car trouble or are looking for a vehicle prater Ford is your best bet!

I love the service an cleanliness

Went by Prater ford just to look at the options on the 2020 F-250 comparing them to the Ram and Chevrolet just to see what all options where available. Was greeted by Mr Prater in the parking lot and told him I was just looking. So he sent Mr Nelson out to assist me and we discussed everything and went in his office to do paperwork. Everyone was very nice at the dealership and made sure I was taken care of. Needless to say they put me in a new truck within 30 minutes of me being there. I would recommend them to anyone. Very fast and courteous people to work with. They went above and beyond to make sure I was happy with everything.

Outstanding service team! An appointment can almost always be scheduled sooner than at other dealerships. Customers are interacted with in a respectful manner, and an honest assessment of parts and labor is the norm. Ive been told that I do NOT need to service or replace a part, if theres really no need for the work to be done – this place does not push unnecessary expenses at all. And, they have even been able to address virtually every service issue on a vehicle other than Ford. Five stars!

I bought my first car here and am so happy with it. They were very helpful in explaining everything which was great since it was all new to me. They have a great sales team. I absolutely recommend this place if your a first time buyer!Also, ask for Brian when you go. I told him what I wanted and could afford every month and he even stayed past closing time on a holiday to find the perfect car. No pressure or sales tactics either 👍

I had a problem with my truck not starting and they were able to work me in to their schedule. I did not have an appointment and they were able to start working on it fairly quickly. They checked to make sure what the exact problem was. They updated me on what was wrong and what the cost would be. Very helpful and nice staff.

Service center is very slow. Schedule to have a oil change done. Was told it would only take 45 minutes so I waited. Over a hour and half later they finally got done with it. Very poor customer service.

Im a ford fan and they are very competent in service and parts.

The Ford place in Dalton wanted to keep my car from 7am to 5pm to replace my recalled air bag so I called the Ford place in Calhoun and they told me they could do it in 3 hrs. So naturally I took my car to Prater Ford in Calhoun and they actually got it done in a little over 2hrs. Thanks for a great job Prater Ford. It sure was a lot easier to be without my car for 2 hours than to have to be without it for a whole day. Youve got my business from now on.

I cant say enough about how great my experience with Prater Ford has been. Ralph Ramos was one of the kindest and most helpful salesman I have ever dealt with. He genuinely showed compassion and care as he helped me with the process of getting me a vehicle. He made buying a vehicle so easy. From the financing to the sales department, I was very pleased. I would highly recommend Prater Ford to anyone looking for a new or used vehicle.

Drove from Canton to check out a car. Eddie was a breeze to deal with. Very laid back, no pressure at all. Was very accommodating for test drives. Excellent experience, and they earned a customer. The wife and I were very happy with our purchase!

The service department is not trustworthy! I took my vehicle there to be serviced and purchased The Works package. I specifically told them that my brakes were scrubbing and I needed them checked. They supposedly checked the brakes (which is included in this package) and told me they were 8mm thick and didnt need to be replaced. They also told me they drove it through the parking lot and and didnt hear the scrubbing (the metal on metal scrubbing sound was completely obvious).After paying for the service I picked up my vehicle and drove it straight to another mechanic in town who checked my brakes and said they were completely worn out to the metal. At this point I didnt know who to believe so I told them to change the pads and save them so I could see them. Sure enough they were completely worn out. I called Prater ford back and spoke with a manager who never gave me his name. He never once apologized and tried to change the subject off of the fact that they obviously didnt check them. He said he would check with the techs and see about it. Dont take your car here, they obviously dont do the work that you are paying them for!

The service team at Prater Ford did another fantastic job. A Big Thank You to Ashley & Greg they make you feel like family, very friendly and with a positive attitude and you are always greeted with smiles and they say hello whenever a customer walks in.On 01/21/21 Ashley diagnosed the problem when she looked in my Truck (2nd visit for the same issue), and had the parts on order within minutes; my Truck was ready the next day.Thank You.Joey Soko

I took my 2013 f150 FX2 in for transmission reprogram that Ford sent a recall out on. They said it would take about an hour and it did. Friendly people good customer service.

Traveling from South Carolina to St. Louis, MO to take my Mom to visit my brother and see his performance. My Ford Edge starting having issues between Marietta, Ga and Calhoun. We had to spend the night and the next morning the Prater Ford people took wonderful care of us. When it was determined that it was a serious issue, they helped getting Ford to cover the complete repair and helped us find a rental car to get us the rest of the way to St. Louis while waiting on the part to come in.

The mechanic replaced a had my truck in the truck and the third tail light replaced in less than thirty minutes. Plus they were clean and friendly. Everything you could want in a dealer-mechanic shop. If you have a late model Ford, Prater Ford is where you want it serviced.

Sales dept great service dept needs some customer service training so they can better serve who they sell to!

Im really disappointed with Prater Ford. I live about 10 miles from the dealership and for past 25+ years, I buy a new truck every 2-3 years. Im old school and really like doing business locally but Ive shopped there nine years and they absolutely cant ( or WONT) compete with other dealers within 50-100 miles.Ive even gone so far as to recommend via email how to get more business and close more deals simply by being more competitive with dealers in ATL.Id much rather keep my money in my home town but when were talking about thousands of dollars, I just cant justify buying locally.So, here we are yet agin for the third time.....and for the second time in 10 years Im buying another RAM 2500 from out of State and trading in my Tahoe which was bought this past FEB about 25 miles south of Calhoun.One good thing I have to say is Ive talked to the owner (I believe his name is Sam) about things other than his business model and he seems like a great guy.

I have had all my recall work done here. What is weird though is that they did a full inspection on my vehicle the first visit. But then the second one it was just the recall that was completed.

Good folks down here at Calhoun Prater Ford. Met the owner himself- he gassed up my car! I really was impressed with that so much I purchased the vehicle.

The best deals around and even out of this town !!

The service department has serious issues. Set an appointment up and deliver the car two hours early and some how it still takes three and a half hours to complete. Wish I could say its the first time but it is the fourth. Then you bring the issue up to the manager and he doesnt care. His comment we need to be more realistic when giving out time. So I guess they will tell people it will take five hours to do an oil change instead of a normal 30 minute job. There are better service centers out there, just a heads up.

Finding parts for an older truck are hard no matter where or who you are. Had to drive 2 hours from Tennessee to here but worth the drive. I was having problems finding a fuel line and they by chance had one, couldnt wait its my work truck. Service guys had my part ready to go when i arrived so basically an in and out trip minus payment time and other things that come with a purchase, machines only move so fast. Also had my Staffordshire terrier with me that couldnt sit in the car on that hot day so i brought her in too. No one gave me a hard time and even helped me acquire scissors to cut out a bowl for water for her too. Good customer service and the little things like scissors to take care of my baby make places like this worth traveling to for a purchase. Small town feel with big city professionalism.

Keep away from the service department. Went there for an oil change and mysteriously one of my lug studs snapped off while my tires were rotated. Kind of strange considering that I rotate my tires regularly every 5-6 thousand miles. They attempted to charge me $75 for something they broke. They also claimed I had a lug stud on the same wheel that was stripped so that left only 3 lug nuts holding the wheel. I left, bought 2 new lug studs and nuts, and found a place that charged me $10.00 to replace the lug stud. They also were nice enough to check my entire vehicle for a striped lug stud and did not find it.

Geeat sevice! We can in from out of town with some truck issues. Prater Ford did everything they could to get us back on the road. Our truck handled better then expected due to there attention to detail. Thanks everyone at Prater Ford!

Fast service

BEWARE!!! Took a 2009 F-250 for a service, tensioner belt issue and a cleaning exhaust filter light coming on more frequently and smelling exhaust when it was doing it. Paid $945.00, drove it home to only discover something terrible went wrong and the cab of the truck was filling with exhaust to the point of being unable to drive it. Called Prater Ford and they told us to bring it back in. They discovered that someone had broken the exhaust sensor and tried welding a bolt on it to fix it....BUT, of course, that they didnt do it. How did they inspect our original issues that brought us in if they didnt touch the exhaust filter?? Prater Ford has been the ONLY people who have been that far back in the engine. They are denying they broke anything and said the cab now has to come off to fix it. Someone in their service department made a mistake and broke it. The truck would still be experiencing the same small exhaust issue had they not messed with it. We are now left with a very large expense to fix something they did. We deal with commercial diesel engines everyday, for the last 35+ years to be exact. No way to fool us on this Prater Ford. Should have read the reviews prior to bringing it in...saw where you guys have broke lugs and arm rests on other peoples vehicles and have not owned up to those service mistakes either, too bad this mistake isnt as cheap as a fix. Going to cost us THOUSANDS to repair what you broke. Apparently there are no honest businesses anymore.Adding to give a response to their reply:Still lying I see. When we paid the $945 we were told everything was fixed or we would not have left. You told us to bring it back only after we almost died of carbon monoxide poisoning by driving a truck with exhaust pouring in. Someone in your service department made a huge mistake and broke the exhaust sensor, own up to it. We will tell everyone we know what crooks you guys are. It was laughable when you tried to blame it on Brooker Ford because you saw that they worked on it when we got bad diesel fuel SIX or SEVEN years ago....and injectors that were replaced, due to said bad fuel, are not far back in the engine. Brooker didn’t touch anything as far back as that sensor and I’m sure it wouldn’t have taken that many years to have a problem. Honesty should be a policy you implement.

The service department had some problems that took more time isolating and making the repair than it should have but in the end they got it right and were very fair in the final charge for the excessive time required to complete the repair... Mr Jim Prater was very helpful and took a personal interest in getting the problem resolved..Thank you......

I have never had such a pleasant car buying experience as I did at Prater Ford. The salesman was nice, true to his word, and quite entertaining to talk to. And when he said he wouldnt waste our time, he wasnt lying. We were in and out in under an hour. My 10 year old daughter didnt even have time to start complaining that she was bored! My new 2013 Ford Escape is everything I wanted. It has so many advanced options and safety features I was looking for. The salesman even linked my phone to the car for me before we drove off the lot. I couldnt have asked for an easier, speedier, or friendlier shopping experience.

They wouldn’t even let me come in to have a diagnostic run to see why my check engine light is on, it’s unbelievable. It’s thursday and the man who answered the phone is saying I can come in Monday. Ok, great, I’ll just pray it’s not something super serious and I don’t end up on the side of 75 with my kids in the car and a broken down car. I bet if a good ole boy with a pick up called in they’d be like “sure bring it on by!!” Absolutely unbelievable. May just drive all the way to Akins ford 2 hours away so I don’t have to deal with this nonsense.

I would not personally do business with this dealer. Some of the Staff are dishonest or are poorly trained. Third option is Just lazy. One of the above apply to my knowledge and experience dealing with them.

The service department is very disorganized my husband called Monday to set up an appointment to have recalls fixed they said they had both parts to fix the recalls I take the car there and they said they didnt know if they had the part then she said she did then I go back to pick the car up to find out they only fixed one recall she said our car might not even be on the list for the other recall but I got a recall letter for it so even though we live in Calhoun we will do business with Booker ford in dalton like we have always done but decided this time we would use prater ford will never do that again

Poor management, poor service dept, price was doubled from the quote, and poor communication. After waiting a day and a half for them to call us about our with statics we finally went up there and nobody could tell us anything definite at first , them after getting there attention it still took another day and double the cost . we took it up there for breaks.

I made an appointment to have a recall fixed on my car at 11:00 and I got here at 10:27 it is now nearly 1pm and they have not touched my car yet and the reason being is all the paying customers get in first since they dont make money off my recall ( that is was I heard them say to each other) and now I am waiting for them to return from lunch so they can fix my car this is ridiculous worst customer service ever
