I have come to this store for many years. Always friendly and an awesome variety.

Buying things at true value as opposed to home Depot depends on the price of gasoline and the distance between your house and home Depot and your house and true value.Because things at true value cost two to three times the amount of the same product at home Depot it needs to be treated as a convenience store. If true value is way closer and you only need one item fast then go there. Thats the only TRUE value it has.

I bought the wrong water line cap at Home Depot, mostly because I didnt really know what I was doing. I ended up at True Value trying to find a washer to fit inside the wrong one right before they closed, but the guys there just kind of grinned at me and took me to the right part instead. Thanks guys, it worked perfect. :)

Nice clean decent store, prices are a little higher than home Depot and Lowes but you dont have to walk for miles and deal with the traffic and parking etc. Very nice people and excellent customer service. They have some very nice gifts, artwork and home accessories as well, but pretty expensive. Its stuff you wont see elsewhere though. So if youre in Caldwell and you want to keep it local and not hassle driving to Nampa big box stores this is your place!

I absolutely love this hardware store. The staff are extremely friendly and helpful when needed but dont hover. I strongly encourage everyone to support smaller stores like this so they dont go the way of radio shack.

I dont know why I continue to give this place any business. I continually get horrible customer service and treated badly by virtually every employee there. I am not one to throw the race card out, however all my white friends claim to have good service there and virtually all my non white friends claim horrible almost discriminatory behavior towards them. Im done with this location and refuse to give them any future business.

Great place and the staff are very knowledgeable. The cashier helped me with replacement batteries for my key fob and even assisted in getting it open. I wasnt even sure you could open it since it was a factory key. Everytime I go in for an oddball reason, they have the answers!

Decent True Value. Not sure about the value part, but one of the better hardware stores in a pinch. Or if your just tired of the orange or blue hardware stores. You know who you are!

They always seem to be in sick with product. Prices arent very expensive and they usually have what Im looking for. The customer service is great.

The markup on common items is out of control. This product is $3.88 at a supermarket a mile away.

Their employees know the stores items and are always willing to help you...

Shop there often probably two to four times a week the convenience is great theyre little short staff these days and a little higher in price but I obviously appreciate their location enough to pay a little extra. When somebody is available to help they do a good job.

Helpful, had what I needed. They also told me what I needed to do with packaging in case I needed to make a return..Which I did!

Went in to get some post caps. They had 3. Needed 30... still my first pick as far as going anywhere for household improvement implements.

Manager at this location is super rude. multiple visits asking him for assistance, just has all rude comments. this guy is supposed to be part owner too. asked him why he is rude and he stormed off.

Week I just went in to but a cheap glass cutter (which they had). The only problem is I asked them if I tried it and it didnt work could I return it and the lady said no. So Im not quite understanding that. But the employees seem pretty helpful and friendly.

There is nothing more important than customer service, and True Value lost our business forever, and we are telling everyone we know. Owning a handyman business, we had been customers for 20 years. Urgently needed restroom, and the manager informed us that it was closed due to COVID-19. We would have been happy to sterilize the entire room. No apology given, just a cold, rude, resounding “NO”. There are better options for your hardware store needs, and they have MUCH better prices, too. Home Depot, Lowe’s.

Went in to buy a few bag goods. Person working register was like Ellen trying to sum an algebra equation. Manager assists her n then saw the ever expanding line of customers. Rather than open the other register, he barked at us for not properly social distancing and for blocking the way of other customers.... Then walked away to go n I guess manage??? I left n went to Bi-Mart...

Good place to go for hardware. Every time i need a specific nut bolt or what not i choose true value. Been going here for a long time , since it wad ace. Staff is very friendly and helpful. Sometimes the prices are a just a bit higher than some of the big stores, but its the big stores that drove up price for these little hatwares stores. There are not money little hardware shops left . so get out and support this store great for all you hardware needs.

Weber in to buy one item and I was told if I decided it wouldnt do the job I could NOT take it back which I feel is bad for business.

Friendly and helpful staff. I went in to buy Espoma cactus and succulent potting mix, although they didnt have what I was originally looking for, the staff was more than helpful in suggesting an alternate mix that would work just as well. I ended up getting plant starter mix, succulent fertilizer, and a big bag of sand to add to my potting mix. The gentleman that helped me was also nice enough to carry the bag out to my car for me, which I greatly appreciated. I will be back for the quality products and friendly customer service.

A little more spendy than the big stores. But for the hard to find knick knack part, you just might find it here.

I was treated like royalty at the Caldwell TrueValue today by manager Dave who came in and took care of me on his day off! Not only did I need a lawnmower today, I needed it delivered 13 miles away to my home because my tiny Ford Fiesta wouldn’t cut it. From the time I got there until the time I was mowing my lawn was under an hour! And Dave delivered it himself. In this day and age, NO ONE gives this kind of personal service. I made a dozen calls for help before reaching this TrueValue and I really lucked out! A+++

My husband was at the RV park. A bolt fell out of the stairs leading into the RV. He was tired from traveling and not sure what he needed. At Caldwell True Value, he said this owner knew his inventory and was exceedingly helpful. The owner loaded him up with the supplies and he was out the door in minutes. Great service.
