I genuinely hate to leave a review like this but I was so completely disappointed in this place.I can’t recall what the dishes I ate were called (which is unfortunate) but I had to order two because the first one was so bad (the photos are of the second dish and the dessert). I was excited when I ordered my first dish because I could order 2 sauces! for it because there was two enchiladas (I think that’s what it was), but when I receive my dish it had two problems: it was DROWNED in sauce, and it was the chicken version — I had ordered the vegetarian. It was nice that they gladly replaced it with the vegetarian version but the puddle of sauce was the real problem.The second dish was actually pretty good and I love that they have a collection of hot sauce bottles you can go grab for yourself. This was particularly handy because there was a lot of bean paste and it was a little bland. The rice was delicious though!I think the dessert we ordered was the ‘special’ that evening and it was definitely not something to write home about. The taste was good but the texture was really not right and again, it was somewhat soggy seeming.I have friends who LOVE the restaurant but I really can’t understand why.Ending with some positives.. their corn chips and salsa were great, our server was friendly, the layout is fine, the atmosphere and dishes are authentic, the prices are okay, and they’re pretty well gluten and nut free.

The food tastes homemade. Really enjoyed it but just a tad bit expensive (hence the 4 stars instead of 5). I highly recommend trying this place out if you want to experience unique Mexican food and their serving size is very good too.

Had a craving for Mexican food and our meal satisfied it. Large portion and it was delivered fast and fresh. Support local as they need help during the lockdown. We had Flautas and Quesadillas and got the yummy chips and guacamole.

Ordered from skip the dishes hoping it was good, but it is not. Food was super bland and tasteless, no flavour expect for the enchiladas, that is it. Definitely was not worth the $80 I spent on my order. $15-17 for 2 small tacos and rice… no flavour.

Our first time in was a fantastic experience. There was no need for over-the-top, fancy service - the food spoke for itself. Our server made us feel comfortable with the menu choices, the plates were delicious and the whole place had a casual family kitchen vibe to it. 10/10 would go again.

I find it rare that when you order to go food that it shows up any where near as good as eating it in the restaurant. This is one of those places where the to go food travels well so i recommend it if you dont plan on leaving the house. I also enjoy eating in this restaurant as well.Chipotle enchiladas ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Definitely one of the more authentic of any Mexican or Tex-Mex restaurant in town. Service was good, staff were friendly. I ordered the flautas and nachos, both were excellent. I was surprised with the high quality of the complimentary chips and salsa. As with any good Mexican place, they use cilantro liberally but tastefully. Im hoping to head there again soon!

La Bamba is incredible - do yourself a favour and try their nachos with shredded chicken. Everything I get here is so great and I will continue to support them as much as my wallet and diet will allow.

Liked the atmosphere the place creates. its not a rich sophisticated vibe, the music and the place gives it an authentic Mexican feeling. The food is actually really good, good for a change up. pleasant staff and fast service. will certainly go back again

Fairly authentic and flavourful Mexican cuisine. The staff are very friendly and attentive and almost all of the options can be made vegetarian if needed.

My wife and I went to La Bamba on a date. The staff was very friendly and the restaurant was clean. The food was pretty good. I got the tostadas and they good but it was something I could have made at home. My wife got the tacos which were made with corn tortillas which were very well made and had lots of flavour.I would go here again but I don’t think I would get the tostadas.

This is the best Mexican food in the city. The staff is fantastic! I recommend the enchiladas :)

Easily one of my favorite restaurants in the city. We have been coming here since it opened all those years ago. Really incredibly authentic Mexican food, but not only that the staff is incredible. I have never had such unbelievable service from any restaurant in my life. My go to meal is the Bamba Sopes - delicious every single time. And the fact that they are locally owned makes this 100x better!

We went here last week Friday - tried about 6 different restaurants that had more than an hour wait before calling La Bamba. Though small, they fit us in. Super quick service. Chips and salsa are great, fresh (free, I assume with a main ordered). Flautas were fantastic, good sized portion. Ive never had a bad meal here.

This little slice of Mexico represents the cuisine beautifully. Friendly service and delicious food. Gol-darn, i might just well come back for seconds!! 😀

Very good food! I ate here while on vacation to Saskatoon from Toronto. We have a lot of really good Mexican places in Toronto so I wasnt sure how it would compare, but I honestly think it was better than a lot of the places Ive tried back home. I would definitely recommend this place and will be back here if Im ever in the area again!

Its kinda hard to find a good mexican dishes, what I expected wasnt something fancy, I was looking for a routine mexican food that I can try and I got it here. Pretty fresh and good quality with cheap prices, average 18 dollar for a meal.

Fast service, great food! Very delicious, and reasonable portion sizes; however, the prices seem a bit high for what you get. Our bill came to $35 for two people whose meals were each rice, beans, and two 3-bite chicken wraps (no drinks). If you love Mexican food, or youre just looking for something different, this is a great a spot. If youre really hungry and/or on a budget, there are better options available.

The food is great, went with family and we all ordered very different dishes. Very pleasant, vibrant atmosphere. The only gripes I have with this restaurant is that almost everything seems to have red or green sauce and it seems to make all the different dishes (that I have tasted) very similar. It is a must try in Saskatoon but I dont think it will ever become a staple restaurant for me.

Amazing homemade, authentic food and great, speedy service. The enchilada are to die for anyway that you take them and even the chips and salsa that you start with are a winner. LOVE this place!

The best Mexican food in Saskatoon, but its small and usually busy so make a reservation especially if youve got a larger group. Ive always had great food and really friendly and efficient service. Food is well priced and if youre hungry after your meal, they will bring you more rice and beans (not that Ive ever needed more food). However it does have a very casual vibe and may not be great for special occasions, although Ive definitely had my birthday meal here once.

Went for the first time tonight and it wont be my last! The food was awesome, so fresh and very authentic. The chipotle sauce was amazing, it had a great kick to it, but not too much. Their chips are amazing! I cant wait to go back and try more!

La Bamba Cafe is the best Mexican food in Saskatoon without question. We order this via SkipTheDishes about once a month and its next level every time. If you can pop in while theyre still located on Boychuk Dr its worth it as its a nice, cozy cafe. Great selection of Mexican beers too.

This was our second time at La Bamba and we will definitely be going a third time! The staff is absolutely wonderful, we got our meal in record time, and my daughter and I shared and both left stuffed!! My daughter said the smell and the flavours are the same as her bffs moms cooking, and she is from Mexico!

Great food, great service every time. Ive eaten here dozens of times, best Mexican food in the city by far, probably the best Ive ever had. Comparable to the best in Mexico and Arizona for sure. I will continue to dine here as often as possible.

Cozy small place. Staff seemed very kind and attentive. The tacos were nice and juicy, Id like to try more of them. The meals come with rice and refried beans, not a fan of refried beans, but if thats your thing, then fantastic.

This place has a decent selection of food and drinks. Particularly good options would be the flautas or the enchiladas - I prefer them with the green salsa but there are several options. The parking lot can be kind of busy, depending when you go, but there is street parking near by, if you really need it. Guac is good, too. Generally pretty good.

Cosy restaurant, authentic Mexican food, reasonable prices. I had the taco salad and was still hungry but they offer you as much rice and beans as you want. They dont want anyone to to home hungry. Service could be a tad more attentive (filling water glasses) but its generally okay.
