Love this place. ❤️❤️❤️ I place an online order on Thursday night once a week for pickup on the following Sunday. That way I skip the line and go straight to the red table to wait for my prepaid order.Lous delicious iced lattes and pastries give me a real lift for the week. Im so happy I found this great bakery. Try the iced latte and one of the croissants if you get the chance. Even the plain croissant offers soft, crispy, flaky, airy and buttery perfection. 🥰

This place is a total hidden gem thanks to the black community that I discovered this delicious croissant. My boyfriend and I loved it and we were on a mission to try out a lot of black owned restaurants and this was one of it. I wouldn’t say this is a self promotion but also want to raise awareness to these lesser known businesses. We made a video of us reviewing the food which just has one word amazing. Search up Meecheer if you want to see the food in action. 😋

July 10, 2020: Tried a new place! Loved the pastries! Flavor in all the food. I had a Le Vegan and a chocolate creme puff.Baguettes are much like the ones in France crunchy and chewy. If you have a tough time with chewing then stick to the pastries. I will definitely go back for more!!!😃

OMG! First of all nothing truly ever lives up to the hype but this did. I asked a friend of mine radomly one day whats the best croissant shes ever had and she mentioned this place. So I went and after my first bite I knew this was something special. Next time I plan to go early in the morning so I can experience a warm one. Chefs Kiss!!!

HOLY CROISSANT, LOU!I live down the street and, like a fool, havent gone here until today. I was riding my bike by and there was a big line. Clearly, it was time that I joined it.I cant believe I spent so long depriving myself of these croissants. The flake, the crunch, the inside texture...EVERYTHING is perfect. The staff was so French that Ive been practicing how to say croissant the right way all morning—I dont want to offend these sacred bakers the next time Im there. Which, lets face it, will probably be tomorrow morning.

It is a shame they are only open on the weekends. They have an extensive menu of goodness. The service is friendly and quick. One of the owners, Karima, explained to me my order, chouquettes--which is so airy and flaky and melted in my mouth. This is an authenic French bakery amd bistro. What would shock people, and shocked me, is that they have very reasonable prices.

A much needed French patisserie/boulangerie right in Toluca Lake. They make so many of my favorites (including boulangerie style sandwiches) and they make them well. Go get some, dont worry about the line, it moves fast. My only complaint is that theyre only open 3 days a week!!

100% hands down the best almond croissants Ive ever had. This place is legit. Its tiny, but they get a lot of business. Its a take out spot. There are no tables. If I were you Id call my order in first. Works better. Everything is so authentic and fresh. I honestly wanted to go back before I left Los Angeles. I will definitely be back for sure.

Amazing everything. Pastries, coffee, sandwiches, and more! My wife and I have been looking for little French Cafes since we got back from our honeymoon and this place definitely is at the top of our list. The owners were super friendly and although its a small place it has a big feel. The chocolate croissant, the almond croissant, the chocolate AND almond croissant, and the croissant were all perfect. Flaky and soft and buttery! The chicken sandwich was also really delicious, everything was fresh and the sliced hard-boiled eggs really added a richness to the sandwich. Will 100% be coming back here as often as possible

This place is fantastic. I stopped by on a whim after searching for a coffee shop in the neighborhood. It has a fantastic authentic European/French vibe with coffee taste to match. The pastries are top notch and you can tell they were crafted with passion for excellence. Lou, the owner/baker took time to talk with me and my SO at length about not only how he came from Paris to LA, but also about our own stories. In all we had such a great experience I cant wait to go back.

The rating and reviews speak for themselves! This place is small but certainly mighty. I had the chicken with arugula and pesto and I must say, it was fresh, light and so yummy. I also had the potato gratin on the side which was DELICIOUS. 4 stars, all the way down. Keep up the good work guys! Until next time.

Great, great, great, awesome pastries. My favorite is the chocolate almond croissant. Croissants seem so simple, yet crunchy flaky ones true to their French standards are so hard to find. It is more expensive than in France... But if you want quality French pastry that doesnt taste like stale bread, this is the place. They bake it on site, and when we ordered a croissant, they picked it from the baked rack in the back, not from the display. Almond filling and chocolate are both very mildly sweet, and the croissants are flaky and buttery. Stale doughy bread posing as croissants no more!

LOU, The French on the Block is one of most extraordinary pastry and coffee spots one could discover. Tiny on space and giant on friendly, this shop offers the kind of french pastry that you can only dream of... The almond croissant is jaw dropping delicious.. Ive never tasted anything as decadent as that in the U.S. Classic croissants and truly every choice of scrumptious flaky pastry is off the charts. Owner and staff couldnt be sweeter...and on Sundays they have a booth at the Studio City Farmers Market - never miss it. Needless to say... perfection...
