Like many other cars that needed windshield glass replacement, I assumed that Gerber was a reputable company. This is the first time I used Gerber and maybe the last time. After the glass replacement, I experienced whistling sounds coming from the front of the windshield. After trying to get in touch with Gerber, which is almost impossible, since they use a dispatch number instead of a direct line to the shop, I had to make several attempts until they finally answered the phone. They scheduled a tech person to come out to check what was causing the whistling sound. He noticed that the weather stripping was loose from the bottom of the windshield. He pulled the entire strip off, took photos and told me that they would get in touch with me. I am still waiting to hear from them. Also, the initial tech person that replaced the windshield, forgot to replace one of the wiper bolt covers. After several weeks of frustration and still waiting to get things resolved, I would not recommend Gerber to anyone.

I was involved in a non-trivial collision and my insurance company directed me to take my vehicle to this Gerber Collision and Glass location. I had a great experience from estimate to drop off to pick up.This facility has a relationship with Enterprise rentals which made the complication of needing a rental vehicle an absolute breeze.The personnel at the desk were friendly and helpful. They worked with my insurance to work everything out and I was only responsible for paying my copay at the pickup of the vehicle.I received multiple texts about the progress of my vehicle during the repair as well as multiple phone calls to keep me informed. The calls were made by the estimator, Miguel, so I spoke to the same person during each point of contact. There was a slight delay to complete the repair, but the fact that a Miguel called me to inform, explain, and answer questions makes a huge difference.I have included a before and after picture to show how well the vehicle repair worked out. I am not a car expert, but the repair makes it look like there was never any damage to begin with. The quality of their work speaks for itself.I would not hesitate to use this repair shop again for body work.

I went with a friend to check on his car. The person we spoke with, I believe her name was Jennifer, was very nice and knowledgeable. She explained everything and told my friend that he would get regular updates on how the repairs were going. Very professional.

Jessica is the best estimator I have ever met and worked with. If I need to have damage to be repaired I will ask for her directly. She was professional throughout the process.

Gerber over charges. Got same work done for 25% of what they wanted. They are insurance go too. But over priced and pay kickbacks to insurance companies. They lie to your face with a smile.

My Jeep got hit in a parking lot and had over half of the back bumper ripped off. After working with the guys insurance, I chose this location since it already had high reviews. They made it super simple right off the bat, sending the estimate right to the other insurance company and arranging a rental car with Enterprise.However, the real reason Im writing this review is to say thanks! I brought my car in at 1pm on a Monday December 21st and picked it up at 8am that Wednesday. They had ordered all the parts and got it repaired SO fast, which was extra awesome because its right before Christmas and I hated the giant soccer mom SUV I got as a rental. My estimated repair time was a WEEK! Not only does everything look great on my car, but they cleaned it too (like on the inside)! Between hiking in the summer and my old commute of over 100 miles a day, my car was pretty dirty. Of course its not detailing spotless, but WOW! I was so surprised and happy to see they not only cleaned and vacuumed the front, but also my backseat and the trunk.I definitely recommend this location. The front office ladies are super nice and friendly, which always makes an experience great. Thanks for making my first accident a seamless repair experience!

I had an amazing experience with getting my BMW front bumper fixed. I’ve recommended friends to this Gerber location .... worth taking the drive to get your car professionally done right the first time.

Matt and his team were extremely helpful and very professional. They did a great job on my car, respected my time and explained all my options. I would definitely recommenced, genuine people that know what they are doing.

Vehicle was brought in for collision repair. The repairs were fine, however upon returning home the same day, the transmission fluid poured out into our garage due to a clamp not being secured. Gerber picked up the vehicle the next day and but failed to communicate with us about when we could pick up the vehicle. We called and was told twice that someone would call us back and did not receive a response. I had to physically go to Gerber to try and get information. The receptionist saw and recognized me. She told me my vehicle would be right out. I told her no one called me to tell me my vehicle was ready so I didnt have a way to drive it home, I was only there to get some sort of answer. Someone still came outside to give me the keys and I had to tell him the same thing. I had to pick up my vehicle the next day. The communication was the most frustrating thing.

Absolutely the worst service

I recently had my Chevy Silverado repaired at Gerber in Buffalo Grove. The quality of work was excellent. And the treatment I received from Jacklyn and Matt would allow me to recommend them to any of my friends and family. Thank you both very much for your hard work.

My preferred shop in the area. Ive had the fortunate pleasure to have a few of my cars fixed by them (vandalism and hit and run - fun stuff). The service personnel are direct about the problems and the cars come out as if new! Plus, lifetime warranty!

I brought some custom parts for my motorcycle to have painted. Charles Holsinger the production manager help me out he called me to let me know the progress on the parts and had the parts painted in one day !! and did a incredible job on them Flawless. Charles definitely cares about customer service and I will definitely be going back to them in the future.

My daughter brought in Jeep Wrangler due she rear ended someone. We also asked Gerber to replace the front windshield due to a crack that was not accident related. It only took approximately 14 days to complete, which I thought was super fast considering all the damage and the replacement of radiator and the windshield too. The best part is that Gerber decided to replace the “Angry Eyes” (plastic inserts that go over the headlights to give the front end a mean or angry appearance ) from Amazon, which I feel that they really didn’t have to do, but did and I’m so thankful for. They also replaced the windshield as a courtesy and did not charge us!THANK YOU GERBER FOR OUTSTANDING WORK YOU WILL ALWAYS HAVE US AS A CUSTOMER!!

Was informed 3 times car was on its way to be painted ,and I could then pick it up. Later informed that another part had to be ordered, then that was back ordered, then the wrong part was sent. So 2 weeks later picked up the car with a scratch in the new bumper and $2,300.00 more than the original estimate.. almost doubled the original .

Would not recommend this place if a speedy service is required for your call. I recently had my car serviced here due to a collision damage and the only reason i chose this store was due to the recommendation by my insurance provider AAA. To my surprise it took 10 days to get the car back. I TOTALLY UNDERSTAND IT REQUIRES A LONGER TIME TO SERVICE BASED ON COMPLICATIONS AND THEIR COMMITMENT TO OTHER CUSTOMERs BUT....... THE REPRESENTATIVES TOOK 6 DAYS TO JUST GIVE ME THE ESTIMATE WHICH IS COMPLETELY UNACCEPTABLE WHICH I AM SURE ONE WOULD AGREE WITH. in top of it the timeline to deliver the car was also not adhered and extended by 2 days. Very disappointing experience. Need to use rental car service for 10 days is very costly:(

Had to come to Gerber because of a failed repair from another shop, which caused a severe rust build-up.Gerber worked with my insurance company and the original repair shop to sort the entire thing out and get my car fixed quickly while at the same time making sure I wasnt charged for anything. The associate I worked with, Mark, proved to be both incredibly knowledgeable, helpful, and extremely courteous during the whole process. Everything from the billing to rental car was sorted out between Mark and my insurance company, and I received my car back ahead of schedule.Im very happy to have my car back and repaired quickly, and I would definitely use them in the future. Thanks!

They ordered me the wrong glass (didn’t have rain sensor and heads up display). That I actually forgave them for, even though I made a trip to their store for nothing. What I can’t forgive is that I was promised that a supervisor will follow up with me (no one did) because they had to order the glass.. I was first quoted $305 and then was told that it will be much more ... but why no follow-up? (not after one week!) Bad business practice. Wasted my time. I got fixed at someplace else!

In early October, 2017 I escorted my Mother-in-Law to Gerber Collision & Glass as she was in an accident and had to get an estimate of the damage. Jeff Dant was the Estimator and was one of the most respectful, patient, knowledgeable, tactful and professional people I have had the pleasure of meeting.Jeff made the experience for an older person who wanted everything explained slowly and in detail wonderful.This is probably the fourth time I have been at Gerber Collision and Glass. Windshield repairs, auto repairs and damage estimates included. Always feel that I am getting treated fairly and price competitive. Must be so as State Farm, Allstate and others always approve of estimates from a Gerber Collision and Glass.

The worst body shop around. I brought my car in for bumper repairs. Got my car back with bubbles all over replaced newly painted bumper. Brought car back for issue and was told that they dont have 100% clean paint booths so there is the possibility of getting dust/ dirt caught under the paint. Really!!!! This is what you tell a customer whos giving you there car to fix and it comes back looking worse. Wow bad customer service. After a month I finally got a car wash and when was drying I noticed my bumper flexing and sounding like paint cracking. Brought car back a second time and was told oh its possible that the bumper is defective well order a new one for you and call when in. I never got a call had to call myself to find bumper on back order. Called my insurance company to deal with these guys as Im over it. I also read that Gerber has monthly quotas and rush threw jobs to meet them. Well rushing to finish work isnt always a good thing. Especially when someones giving you their vehicle to work on. DO NOT BRING YOUR CAR HERE FOR REPAIRS. YOU WILL BE DISAPPOINTED.

I just recently brought my honda accord in for some simple repairs and left with a messy car compound all over parts not put together correctly wait over a week and a half. For a fender that was only repaired. I have never witnessed such a shotty body shop. My car needs a detail now. They did not even fix everything that needed to be fixed. My car has scratches that were not there before. If i had the option of giving this place a zero star i would . i dont recommend anyone leaving their car in this places hand. Horrible shop they should be a chop shop. The body man who worked on my car should be fired for what he did and how he handled my car. I have reported this to state farm. And for them never to recommend this place to anyone else.

I would not recommend walking through these doors- disorganized, messy, unprofessional, rude, and racist company! My eyes were open to the real way that Gerber runs their business. Don’t recommend working, or bringing your vehicle anywhere near here. They do not know how to treat employees or customers. Don’t waste your time.

They do a great job on erasing dings, replacing glass, and they work great with insurance companies. If your insurance covers loaners, they have a rental place right there.

Plastic molding went off on my car, this guys glued it back for free.
