We went a little out of the way just to visit Japan Village because I had to get some Japanese foods and snacks. This place did not disappoint. I didnt have the time to look at everything outside of the grocery/market section, but I did see a few places to get hot food across from the grocery section. We also went and saw the courtyard area which is beautifully decorated. If you are a fan of Japanese flavors or foods, check this place out! I hope to return there soon to check out what else that are has to offer, as it seems to have many multinational food spots, among other things.

If you’re looking for unique ingredients, Japan Village is definitely on point. Very fresh, great variety, middle to a higher price level, which is completely okay when you’re looking for a true high quality fresh food. You can find delicious mushrooms along the side with great pottery.

Whats not to love? Its a food hall with a bunch of great options from Japanese curry to your classic ramen, to baked goodies. The market is to the right when you enter the main entrance so you can shop from cult favorite snacks like yakult, red bean desserts, candies, and even household items like cleaning products, shampoos, and skincare. The options are endless.Highly recommend Setagaya Ramen to the left for some Tonkatsu ramen and Moriya for some pork katsu curry! The food is made fresh and piping hot! Perfect for the cold winter days and competitively priced considering the value you receive. The service is also really great, as everyone is very kind and efficient to boot! You must visit Japan Village in industry city!! Could not recommend it more to my own friends and family.

🇯🇵 Sunrise Mart and the courtyard outside with the benches and murals are the highlights. The food was a B and if you have a craving for Japanese foods and treats, and youre in Brooklyn, I would recommend it. I have tried the karaage, the katsu, the onigiri and the okonomiyaki, all were a solid B, though the okonomiyaki was served lukewarm and thats a no-no. The prices are also ok.They have several live plants 🌵🪴, which is a plus for me.

The flavors are fine, but nothing to call home about. Pricey for being in such an isolated part of Brooklyn. The Mount Fuji ramen was a cross of ramen and Italian pasta, reminiscent of a tomato soup; the creaminess was nice. The dipping soba (zaru), which is supposed to be chewy, was hard and cut into short pieces that made it really hard to dip in the sauce. The seating area outside is very nice. Indoors its not very atmospheric; Im not sure why people compare it to a Japanese village, it really looks like a food court.

Find you fix for Sushi, ramen, soba, udon, onigiri...at the food court section. In the market section, you can buy some hard to find Japanese snacks and groceries here, completed with fresh sashimi and the finest beef and pork cuts. More stuffs are added everytime we go.

Love this place!! There were many shops all around it. The Japanese market was well stocked and there were quite a few places to get great japanese food. And a large outdoor eating area to enjoy the meals you purchase and just enjoy the atmosphere. Everyone wore masks and you could social distance if you pay attention and say excuse me in the few spots that people would congregate. I will definitely come here again. 🌸

I love shopping at the Sunrise Mart location in Japan Village. They always have fresh produce, many types that would be hard to find in an average supermarket. They also have a multitude of organic fruits and vegetables. The meat and fish sections have a consistently great variety. They also have large selections of imported foods, especially noodles. I recently decided to try making Vietnamese beef noodle pho and got all of my ingredients from Japan Village. Beef bones and spices for my homemade stock, rice noodles, meat, and other veggies and mushrooms for the soup. It came out delicious and I’m so happy that Industry City has an Asian market.

For those who have been overseas and spent time in Japan. They will recognize quite a few of the staples, and even some of the eccentricities. A little difficult to maintain distance, bit it could have been with the time of day I went. They were wiping down and cleaning the stations continously.

Hugh diversity of everything that you can eat from Japan. They have a market that stocks all sorts of Japanese dry goods, frozen imports, high end meat and sushi grade fish. Then there are 7 different places to grab anything from a snack to a meal. A cafe, a omigiri and sushi to go counter. A noodles/soup counter.(eat outside in the food court). 4 sit-down table service restaurants (1 sushi, 1 hibachi and 2 with other menus). Great place to visit and try something new..

There were a lot of people, but that of course is not their fault. What I did is go take a walk around the complex and when I went back the line was much shorter. The store and everything looked clean and in good condition. The products they sell in the store are nothing you cannot find in other Japanese grocery stores for cheaper and within much easier access. The cashier was nice. If youre going to see Industry City in general, then I do think the trip is worth it. If youre going just for Japan Village... Probably not.

We love to shop in Japanese supermarkets since we always can get better beef and seafood with reasonable price. We had high expectation before we visited Japan Village especially for their food court. The exterior decor is super cool and modern with authentic and eye-catching Japanese painting. Inside Japan Village, it’s really bright, clean and wide-spaced.We were aware some stands were temporarily closed during COVID-19, but still felt disappointed that the options in the food court were limited and duplicated. We ended up buying only 2 bottles of Japanese sauce for Okonomiyaki and decided to get our lunch around 8 ave in Sunset Park since the food here didn’t look really delicious.
