We have brought 2 of our trucks to TSI for repairs. They did a great job. Chris was very informative and treated us right. We felt confident the first time we walked through the door that we chose the right place to do business. They are fair and trustworthy. They went out of their way to do the repairs in the most economical way possible and being a business owner, we appreciated that. They were very accommodating and even gave us a courtesy ride to pick up the truck. We highly recommend Chris and his team!

Chris is not only very friendly and hospitable but clearly knows his stuff. He was able to trouble shoot by just hearing me tell of the symptoms I was experiencing. They were able to get someone out right away to upgrade the necessary software and they tried something much less expensive prior to making a big repair, saving me a great deal of money. My car was in and out of the shop in just a day or two. I would recommend Transmission, Inc. to everyone!

I went in to have my transmission serviced this morning, but was on the fence because of other issues with my car. Explaining my concerns with Chris Skoog at check-in not only confirmed my fathers advice, but opened my eyes to how important it is to pay attention to ALL the little hiccups your car may be displaying to you.Chris explained the function and possible transmission issues that could be happening in a way that I could understand. BUT, most importantly, he declined to do a service that wouldnt fix but exacerbate the issue; he apologized for being so honest. I LOVE THE HONESTY!!!!Chris gave me some good advice I will be using as I shop for a new car, and Derek Chambers (manager of the other business side of the shop) will meticulously inspect any vehicle of interest for me; Chris says Derek is a bit OCD when doing his inspections.Im so touched by the honesty I could cry right now; I have other stressful things going on in my life as well and really cant afford to spend recklessly. In an industry where people rip you off with a smile, these guys gave me pure unfiltered truth. I love it!~ A Customer For Life

I brought them the truck, they fixed the issue and flushed the transmission (the correct way) and in a timely manner. I’ll continue to give them my business on all my trucks! Friendly staff too. 👍

Outstanding service! I had issues with a sensor in my transmission and significant leaking from an aftermarket sunroof that a previous owner installed in my SUV. The shop manager was honest, friendly and very helpful. The issues were identified and remedied extremely quickly, which was important for us. The cost was less than quoted and the workmanship was outstanding. I would not hesitate to recommend Transmission Shop Inc in Brooklyn Park to friends and family!

My wife needed a new transmission and computer for her 2005 Jeep LJ. Chris and his mechanics went the extra mile to get things done right for us. I typically do my own work, but this project was a bit bigger than I wanted to tackle. Im always a bit hesitant to have others work on our vehicles, but the folks at TSI got it done right! Prices are very reasonable, and I wouldnt hesitate to refer close friends and family to TSI, and thats saying a lot for this guy.

Overall, I was quite impressed with this place. We came here seeking a second opinion and they were quite upfront and honest with us. Almost more impressive, they said good things about the shop that gave us the first opinion. It is refreshing to see companies speak positively about their competitors rather than trying to steal a customer. Also, the Brooklyn Park Bulletin Board on Facebook routinely has posts with people speaking positively about this place.

These guys literally saved me $6,000 or maybe even much more. My wifes Honda Pilot was belching out error codes saying there was a maintenance failure and transmission problem. It certainly appeared that the transmission was shot as there was a lot of hesitation when driving slow and accelerating. Initially I took it to the Honda dealership where I was informed that I needed a new transmission, a new alternator, and a new O2 sensor with a total cost of $6,000 + tax. With 140,000 miles on her car I thought it probably didnt making a lot of sense getting it fixed, so I started looking at $30,000 cars to replace it. But at my dads (and Angies List) suggestion I decided to drive it down the road to these guys to see if they could fix the transmission cheaper that the dealer. It turns out they could - a couple of hours later I got a call from them saying the problem was actually a partially blown fuse to the main computer which was giving a bunch of screwy readings and made the care behave oddly; the transmission, alternator, etc were all just fine. Cost to repair: 30 cents + some negligible labor chargers. These guys were well aware that Honda quoted me $6,000 to fix the car, they could have easily quoted me $3,000, twiddled their thumbs, said it was fixed, and I would have been a happy camper that I got it repaired for half the price I was quoted at Honda. But nope, these guys are about as honest as they come. They also spent a lot of time explaining everything to me, and it is very apparent they know there stuff and they are very good at what they do. Had the transmission been in need of an overhaul, based upon my conversation I was confident that they would have rebuilt it to be better than factory specifications. While my transmission is now just fine, if I ever have any future trouble with this or any other cars transmission, I know that this is the first place that I will call. It is nice to know that there are still honest companies like this that take pride in providing high quality work at a fair price.

I went here to find out how trust worthy/reasonable this shop was for a buddy. So I went in to ask a very easy simple question to diagnose that I already knew the answer to. Front desk guy asks what is the problem. I told him and asked for a quote would be to diagnose it. Instantly tells me he would have to take apart the transmission to even tell me anything. Also that he charged a customer 4K to change the gears in a customers transmission! for that price you could have a brand new one for parts and labor! Guy barely gave me the time of day or let me speak what was the issue. These guys are blood thirsty. I wish your pocket book luck if you go there.

Was very satisfied and will be back for any transmission/ services related. Good guys will & would recommend!

Not sure how to rate since I didnt get service through them.I walked in about a week ago and asked about having my vehicle checked out because of some issues I was experiencing with my Honda Civic Ex-l front axle.I was told by Chris we can get you in, in a week.So I took my vehicle to Honda and had it serviced there.Tbh. I am not sure of Chriss demeanor. He rolls his eyes a lot which if it isnt a negative intentional behavior, it can def appear to be. His tone wasnt very friendly either.I origianlly came to TSI because my father said they have good recommendations.II returned today with another issue.First I called and the individual spoke with had a positive tone. Told me to swing in and theyll code my car so that they can get me the correct appointment for next week.I came in and met with Chris at the desk again.Once again I didnt like the initial contact. This time I brought my fiancee with.Christ asked what was wrong, and I quickly highlighted the convo from that morning and vehicle issues.Chris stated.somethinf about not being able to mimick and something else.So my fiancee gave a better detail than I did.Chris stated to have a seat and someone will do a test drive with us.While we were sitting my fiancee stated that he didnt care much for Chriss attitude and began go look up other shops. I told him what my father said and that worse case scenario we could always go back to Honda. An older man did just that and was able to pull a code but didnt know what it meant without looking it up.When we came in Chris told us what it meant. He also stated that we were stuck with Honda because he could not work on a CVT in a Honda, only Nissian. He stated something like parts are hard to find or get.But then told us that I might need the whole.part replaced used or rebuilt. But he did seem nice when we came in.Disappointing I was prepared go trust their work over Brookdale Honda.I am also wondering if he didnt like our open convo about not liking the attitude initially at TSiSo I have nothing bad or good to say, but thank you TSI for finding the code to my possible problem. Now there are 3 sides to a story so ill wait for their side. Theres my version of what happened and their side, but then there is what actually took place.Well all have different sides.Once again nothing bad or good because my vehicle was not serviced there, but I see they have lots of great reviews.

Brought my Expedition in for, at the time an unknown problem. For most shops, this would have been a perfect opportunity to take advantage of a customer. The truck would not go into gear, so my thought was “oh no, the transmission went out!” The staff at TSI was very upfront in letting me know all of the potential problems, and worst/best case scenarios. After review of the vehicle, and discovering the problem, they did everything in their power to work on the cost to ensure my ability to cover the cost of the repair. Oh, and the problem was NOT THE WORST CASE SCENARIO!!!!!Ya hear that, all you “1Star, cheap, wanna get something for nothing, only review to complain to make yourself feel better jerks!”...sure, you want to Say that TSI charges too much AFTER you search Craigslist, and find some hillbilly, Inbred, toothless backwoods brush ape who shows up in a vehicle that is on its last leg, and sporting 3 different colors claiming “Affordable mekanix dun rite.”....well, if you want good professional, honest service, I highly recommend TSI Transmission.

Due to screwing up on the year of my vehicle & then had some mixup with a delivery problem, it took an extra couple of days to get my car back with a new transmission. I did get a small compensation for the extra days, but a few days later, my engine light came on, so I stopped to inquire about it. Youd think I was in a different shop the way I was received when I walked into the place. I guess after they got my big check, I didnt really matter to them anymore! I will NOT be back, nor would I refer anyone to them! They didnt seem the least bit concerned about my issue and were no damn help at all! A complete waste of my precious time!

TSI totally screwed me on a service call to diagnose a transmission issue. They were brought our truck by tow, they tore apart the transmission without providing an estimate. They did not have permission to take it out, but they did it anyway. They then quoted a price so un-reasonable that all I wanted to do was get my truck off of their lot. Now the price to diagnose a transmission is $550?The shop manager Chris Skoog cannot provide proof that he was given permission to take it apart. They didnt give us a written estimate. We didnt give them any approval to take the tranny out. We only got an invoice for $550 when we came to pick it up because we decided they were too high.Their practices are unfair, if you decide to not use them to complete the services. I would absolutely not recommend using their services. Now that we received the vehicle nack, it was delivered to us with the tranny in pieces I. the back of the truck, with fluid ruining the entire carpet flooring. After paying $559, this is what we get? An unusable truck, the tranny pulled apart and thrown into the back. At least most shops would have put it back the way they received it. We got slammed, and so will you if you gamble with TSI.

Long story short. Went to TSI to get my Mass Airflow Sensor changed, They told me it would be $475.00, I said no way Ill do it myself, Then they charged me $50.00 for some computer check that told them the MAF sensor was bad. So I paid them $50, for them to tell me the part I wanted them to replace was bad. They refused to give me my money back....... It gets better. My cousin tells me to change the pig tail wiring to the sensor first just in case it not bad. WORKED!!! total cost 30min and $2 ( I got the wiring in a junk yard).TSI = $475 PART= $2-30min $473 = ?????Gave them another chance to give me my money back, the guy says no. ah well, Im not going back.

Very happy. I thought I had a major problem - tranny seal broke during a road trip, had to drive a couple hours on a nearly dry transmission to keep the family ahead of an incoming blizzard, truck was screaming at me by the time I nursed it home. (I also had an idler pulley decide to start dying on the same bad trip.)I was convinced the tranny was cooked, and I was bracing myself for a couple thousand dollar rebuild. These these guys had *every* excuse imaginable available to them to take advantage of me, and Id probably never know the difference. What happened? They spotted the pulley and the missing seal. Fixed the pulley just to make it stop screaming (~$225), the test drove the truck to see if they could detect any tranny issues. They didnt feel that any (perceptible) damage had been done, so they put a new seal on and got the fluid levels back where they belong (~$325). Thats not to say I didnt take some life off of it, but at least there was no apparent need for more serious repair right now. I never thought Id be so happy to pay a shop $550 bucks. Im a loyal TSI customer now.
