My girlfriend got her food 8 minutes before me. However, they didn’t provide us with silverware. We asked multiple times for silverware but it was repeatedly forgotten. We finally received silverware after my food was out. My bacon was rock hard and they forgot my potatoes. They rushed the potatoes and brought them out still half raw. The self checkout registers are a joke. Every time we scanned an item it wouldn’t go through and it said ask for assistance. We had a couple items on sale, but when scanned the discount was not applied. The workers weren’t helpful at all, they were too busy talking amongst themselves. Very disappointed with our visit.

There is a manager working today September 20 ion the floor of the checkouts and she has been the rudest young female to adult I have ever met at this store in Brookings for a important look of this HyVee! Kindness & Caring towards any age should be a requirement!! Twice in the past week this young gal has been rude to others and I just can’t stand not helping the elderly! I did it instead. I helped the lady!!Go find someone at those check outs on your own! Customer Service should be you utmost importance along with having the correct prices for the signs above or below the products also. You treat your elderly customer awful. No customer service for them either! You are the closet grocery store but I am done. I have seen more elderly people walk with trouble from far away just to get a few things! It has been a shame ( rude managers like her are not acceptable) So disappointed the last years and now I am done. Wrong prices, charging more than it is advertised for. Not enough people working in the checkouts. Your PRIORITIES have been going down big time.

I love this place. It is very neat and organized and the prices are very good. My favorite area in this store is the fresh produce section and then after that, the fresh meat counter.

Great grocery store. Wish there were a whole lot more organic meats and organic grass fed meat. I do like that the specialty foods are in its own section.

The Hyvee in Brookings is clean and usually has the sale prices. With the way everything has been with Covid they are trying their best to keep up. I feel they were one of the first stores in the area to set up to make things more sanitized and safe. They clean the regular and self check outs after every person to help keep is sanitized. Their produce is usually really great too. They do require masks and have someone inside handing them out of needed. They suggest following arrows to go up and down the aisles which can be a bit of a pain since I dont always need something from every aisle. They are always stocking shelves when I am there so today for instance you couldnt really move around by the frozen and yogurt milk section easily. Sale items can go fast. There were a few things on my list they didnt have and it didnt seem like they had a big area for it. So, if you want something on a 2 day sale or even for the week that may be popular, you should go the morning it starts. I have had both friendly staff and not so friendly. The store is located at the end of a strip mall with a bunch of businesses and the parking lot gets very congested and needs some work done to it. There is also a Hyvee gas station located in the parking lot where the store and strip mall is.

Used to be a great store. Now there is never enough of the products that are on sale. You can drive a good distance and week after week there are no sale products available. Not shopping near as much there now. Have to fight the employees fulfilling pick-up orders also. Not good.

I liked it better in the past. Now when they dont have something that they had in the past, they say they will order it, but it doesnt happen and they dont contact us to let us know if they do get it. Weve had to look elsewhere for things we were able to get there before. I would also like to tell them that organic tomatoes would ripen nicely if they are not refrigerated. They dont keep the nonorganic in refrigeration. Thats what makes them sweet.

Took hr get food, it was cold and never got toast after repeated requests. Not happy to say the least.

Staff was friendly and showed my sister and I the correct place to pee. Separately of course. Also, they had bing bars.

Dana and her team put together the most beautiful arrangements for my simple wedding, and at a fantastic price, on very short notice, and during Valentines Day week! With very little direction, they managed to execute a perfect design for our decor, bouquet, and boutonniere. I will definitely be using Hy-Vee Floral going forward.

Jus went in got some baby carrots. The staff were friendly and very helpful. I liked the place.

This store has higher quality items than the Walmart down street its just a little more expensive. But they usually have what Walmart does not. They have a great vegetable, fruit, and meat selection.

By far the worst service went for breakfast was served at 1030 by someone obviously doesnt like her job or ppl with brown skin, she literallly slammed both i and my husbands plates on the table didnot ask if we needed anything else she spun off so quick asked for tobasco sauce which was served like breakfast plates slammed on to table. i wouldnt reccommend this hyvee to any natives or hispanics or in general ppl of color if that woman was serving the food wasnot as good as the food and service in sioux falls on east 10th st. this hyvee doesnt deserve star will not return even for groceries.

Frozen foods fuel saver day. Stocked up on a few things to get fuel saver rewards. They have a good selection if different products. There were some empty shelves that needed restocking. Not sure if it was because they were waiting for a truck, a sale or COVID.

Just another grocery store that doesnt have enough employees, so you have to do the self-checkout if you want to get out there in a timely manner.

Decent selections all around, better liquor variety than the local Walmart (no hard liquor, Brookings municipality has the laws structured such that only Brooking Liquor Store, owned by the city, may sell hard liquor).Wait can be a bit long at peak times, which is to be expected to a degree, so no real issues exist here. Prices are higher than Walmart. A full basket adds up to quite a bit more than Walmart on average, so one star was deducted for this reason.

Hy-vee is efficient and clean. It had what I was looking for so that’s good to me

I am a frequent visitor to Brookings, typically love the HyVee store selection and the service. However extremely disappointed with the customers who werent wearing masks. If you arent going to enforce mask wearing them you need to offer hours when the most vulnerable can shop in safety. Like my 83 year old Father.

I dont drink coffee so I know Im not empathetic to the people who frequent Starbucks that is right inside the door but it irritates me I have to run a gambit around people standing around waiting for their coffee. Seems like the Starbucks customers are more important than the Hy Vee customers..move Starbucks to the back of the store..also not happy that the store carries less and less national brands and more of their own.

Lines are getting long at check out, but everyone is friendly and helpful.

I bought a slice of pizza at their convenience store. It was in a big box and when I opened it, it was a dried-up small piece of pizza. Will go to Caseys next time so I can see the piece of pizza.

I live 400 miles away but when I am on the way here, I bring a cooler or two and load up with the fresh supplies cant get back home.

This is my go to store. I live across the Minnesota boarder but this store is closer and the service is better. The deli here is great. I love their Chinese dinner for two.They have a good bakery that made my sons bday cake. The meat department has bundles you can make and usually has fuel saver so I save on gas too!Its got a really good selection in the Health area for alternatives to meat and flour.

Love Hy-Vee as a rule. Usually great produce and product selection. Didnt buy meats this trip but did buy Chinese food for dinner and it was great.Visited during Covid-19. Staff wear masks. Ailes are 1-way (not that the majority follow it !) Staff wipe down the register counter in between patrons. But theres no staff that wipe down the keypad for your credit card, nor the carts. So its a little bit funny.No personal grocery bags allowed. Weird since we bag our own.Anyway. Still live the grocery store.

A good grocery store obviously. The parking lot is a wreck its the main thing that makes going to HyVee a hassle. They dont require masks yet. And the Isles are still pretty narrow so social distancing is difficult. Their prices are typically two to three times more expensive than Walmart.

Beautiful arrangements and reasonably priced! I dont live in the area, but I wanted to send my mom some flowers for mothers day. I called and told them roughly the amount I wanted to spend, and they took care of everything. The flowers were delivered right on time, they were beautiful, and the price was perfect. Great for flower delievery!

Some good, some not so much. Fruit and vegetables can be iffy, meat is good if not too high priced.

High end products with a small-town atmosphere. Friendly staff, genuinely nice people there. Clean They dont have short cuts, but maybe thats just an east coast thing? But otherwise, they have good, fresh produce and its a fair price for the value.

I love HyVee and have, since growing up in the area. Their quality produce and meats are excellent and their checkers are wonderful as well. Never ever had an issue with bad product or anything. However, there is a major issue that needs addressed. HyVee stores should improve their Aisles Online free store pickup service, to better meet the needs of people who need to self-isolate from congested places, during this pandemic. Yes... Especially, during a pandemic of all things!! Im immunocompromised and theres hundreds more people like me, here in our community. Individuals who are immunocompromised CANNOT take risks going into the store for even a couple items!! Some of us dont have anyone available to shop for us. Currently, in order to utilize the free store pickup service, your order must be at least a $30 minimum. This situation threatens the immunocompromised. Also, people cant always afford to spend $30 per store pickup order, every time just a few items are needed. I hope they change this to a No Minimum Purchase when ordering free store pickup, so that we dont have to go in the store risking our already, poor immune systems. We CANNOT chance this virus and its important to change this store pickup situation A.S.A.P.
