I have two kids so naturally if I want a drink or something for them I will get a small. Twice now they have been out of small cups. That’s not the issue. The issue is they refuse to put a small in a medium cup. And they force you to buy the larger size. This is not the front line workers fault. This is poor customer service directed by poor management. I’m not asking for a a free meal, or anything special. It should, I feel be common sense just advise the small will be put in a medium cup.
Not sure what all the hoopla about this place is. The chicken club was not very good tasting. It could have been the cheese they used but just not the best chicken sandwich Ive had. The tater tots were good though. And the milk shake was decent. Service was good and I like how they do the order in the pull in spots. For a fast food place its okay.
I really love their Strawberry milkshakes and I add Butterfinger pieces with whip cream and its the only place that also gives you a Maraschino Cherry which I love. I did have a problem with one of their ordering stalls outside. Once I was able to order, service was quite speedy.
FYI: they currently have no mozzarella sticks and no popcorn chicken, but they do have chicken tenders.We love sonic but had a stressful experience at this one. Even though their menu looks no different than it has for a long time, they were out of mozzarella sticks and popcorn chicken- two of the items we ordered. The young man who took our order kept rushing us to finish our order before we were done. When we were discussing what we wanted, he kept asking if we were going to order anything else. I’m sure many others would appreciate if they could update their menu daily to show what is or isn’t available that day. Even if all they have is duct tape, that would be better than just telling us that what we want is unavailable. Poor management to run a store that doesn’t keep stocked up on menu items.
Wait is so incredibly long! Half the stalls are blocked, so we HAD to join the drive thru line. I tried to order through the app, it wouldn’t let me as this location wouldn’t even come up on the app. Wait in a forever long line, just to find out, they have no medium or large cups. I look at a review from 2 weeks ago, that complains about the same thing…. No medium or large cups. 🤯 I can’t say we’ll be rushing back to come back to this Sonic. It needs some serious help!
I love the drinks. But I always get sick when I eat the food. I dont think they change the oil as often as they should. Oh and I always only get ONE onion ring with the box dinners 🤣
9:20 pm and this place is completely dark despite showing they are open until 11pm. Driving past the stalls they have signs up that they are apparently out of ice cream and any size beverage. Its Sonic. How can they possibly run into a situation where they cant serve ice cream or drinks? That is what they do. Fail. Luckily DQ was open down the street.
This is the only current Sonic in Alaska and it is always slammed. If you like Sonic, it is just what you would expect at prices that are incredibly reasonable for Alaska; however, the staff is so slammed that they are frequently out of the hand-battered onion rings and often make errors on orders. I hope they expand the kitchen and staffing to handle the constant rush.Also if a Sonic rep reads this please bring back the white gravy and lemon berry slysh
Worst drive thru Ive ever been to in my 37 years. I sat in the drive thru with out moving for 25 minutes. Missed my sons school pick up because they are doing construction and theres no way out of the line!!!!! Called the store and the manager wasnt helpful. Told me it would be moving soon... WHAT A JOKE! If could give zero stars I would!!
Worst Drive thru ever been to completely screwed up order. They either need to have better management or lay off the Wacky for reals
I went through the drive through yesterday 08/01/2021. It was extremely slow but that was not the worst. My fries were old and cold upon receiving them. I tried them as I drove away and i would have taken them back (I was still in the parking lot) but it would have been an extremely slow process. I didn’t want my burgers to get cold too.Very disappointed Sonic!

Burgers are horrible. I couldnt even finish the burger. Only good thing of my meal was the soda.
Love the food, I tried to get some today since I was out that way. The drive thru line went all the way through the parking lot and they had a car parked so as to block access to the stalls. The only option was the drive thru. After 15 minutes of waiting in a line that didnt move once in that time, I headed back to Anchorage
Its okay as far as Sonics go. Traffic and drive in spots are usually full. Food hasnt quite hit that real Sonic sweet spot of taste yet. A lot of the food just doesnt taste as fresh and hot as it could. But I have hope for it! I still come whenever I can. Drinks are always amazing. Excited to see Sonic come to Anchorage. Still a fan!
Ive been to others in the states and always loved it. I hope this one doesnt disappoint either, but it was a good amount of food for a surprisingly good price, and I even got 2 pup cups. With ICE CREAM! 😀 🐶
If I was able to give - stars I would. The food was good but the service was the worst I’ve ever had. The cashier was busy taking our order in the lobby and taking the drive through order at the same time he didn’t even give me my receipt. I waited almost an hour after ordering to realize that my food was given to the customer behind me and they got mine and their order. When I went up to ask about my order the front counter ask the server where my order was and he pointed to another customer. I was literally very angry but I wasn’t rude, just wanted my food. Without my receipt I didn’t get a refund but instead received a coupon which I’ll be thankful for. But I think they need to be more organized. This was my second trip here and both time it was just a terrible wait. First time was 40 minutes for their slushy but that was of course the first month it was open.
We went there and it wasnt open despite the hours listed, no sign notifying the public. Disappointed was ready to try them out, guess with reviews it was a blessing it wasnt open.
Service took forever even though there wasnt a line at the drive thru when I arrived. I pulled into a stall and after a few seconds hit Order. No one took my order or came over the intercom at all for about 15 minutes. No warning of a long wait, no acknowledgement of the order button being hit, so after a bit I started thinking maybe no one saw it. Other people had pulled in and gotten their food and left before I had even had my order taken. To top off the long wait, the employee arrived with my food, and as he handed it too me, and read of the receipt I thought that meant he knew what was in the bag. I get home and discover I have no burger even though it was the first thing I ordered and the first thing he read off the receipt to me. The wait has always been long but not that bad and I was surprised and disappointed about the burger being missing.
They were busy both at the drive thru and park and order. It took a little bit to get our order but the food was great for the price! Two of use had a combo meals and total was $15.00
Mediocre and somewhat low quality. I like the marketing and aesthetic more then the burgers and shakes. The Chicago hotdog wasnt bad though
Waited one hour for 4 drinks and when I received my route 44 cranberry limeade it was pretty bad! Unfortunately I was not the only one who received a bad drink, as my son was trying to enjoy his drink he sucked out some black object from his slush. Very disappointing and upsetting to keep on giving Sonic our business and in return receive bad quality food.
Got to just love Sonic! They are still the one fast food place that serves delicious cheap food and doesn’t try to act healthy! Keep it up Sonic! Great people at this location btw although long lines may slow you down to meet them.

As far as fast food goes its decent, fills the stomach but have never had anything from here I couldnt go without. Poppers have probably been the best thing here I have eaten.
Great food and they get your order right. I removed one star for this reason:You know Sonic is known for speed, right? Not this one apparently. I recommend not coming here if you need to be someplace at a certain time and need to grab some food real quick.Other than the speed, it’s a good place, good food, etc.

The drive thru was PACKED! We managed to find an open stall, but we figured ordering would take quite a while considering how busy they were. Nope! The most time consuming part was figuring out what to order! The food was hot and yummy, and it came out super quick. These people are on top of it!
Very nice, clean Sonic, very welcome, very remote! There are no Sonics anywhere in Anchorage, and that just blows my mind. Was so good to get a taste of home again. Well be back.
I dont know what it is about this place, but they cant follow instructions. When I order a slush with ice cream dropped in the slush and NOT mixed, it never fails.....it comes mixed. 😠 Food isnt bad. Typical greasy spoon type.
Absolutely HORRIBLE service here! Said someone was on the way with the food and 15 minutes pass by with no food, when we ask about it they misplaced it all and had no receipt for what we ordered. Not worth your time going there. What a joke
Quick and easy bite! You dont even have to get out of your car. I went there with a truck (2500HD) and the drive through is manageable.
This was my first trip to a Sonic ever and I loved the food and all the choices! And the kid that served me was a sweetheart!⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
I got a coke slushie... But it was practically just ice. The ice was slightly tinted brown, showing there was in fact a little bit of flavor to it, but you couldnt taste it.
The food tasted pretty good, staff were very friendly and their ice cream treats are above par; Their slushes are also really good.The wait for the drive through makes it almost not worth it, especially if you travel to it from out of town. We waited about 1 hour and 10 minutes, give or take, to order and receive our food. After ordering though, once you get to the window, you pay and then leave.It is nothing against the employees, its just the location and the fact its the only Sonic Drive-in in the state. Theres too much business for this one location. I would love it if there were more locations in other major cities so its not a hassle to visit.
Waited in drive thru for twenty min, in the same spot. Ohh yea I had to back up a little to let people out because they were waiting just as long. So maybe not the same spot. And also people need to know how to use two drive thrus. Other than that, I love the slushies!!!!
I love that more of whats down in America is coming all the way up here in the kuiper belt region of Alaska! Sonic is a sight for sore eyes.
Long waits for food that is pretty average. The drinks are good though but hard to say if they are worth a 20 to 30 minute wait.

Drove all the way from anchorage to get food here, and it ended up being closed at 8pm. Online said open until 11, as did the voicemail of the phone.
This Sonic should have their fast food card revoked. I’ve given it numerous chances and yesterday was my last. On our way to a mid-afternoon Alaskan wedding, we decided to try and grab a quick lunch. When we arrived at the drive thru, there were only 4 cars in front of us. Fast forward 30 minutes later…we still haven’t been able to place an order. When we finally made it to the order intercom, I was then asked to wait on hold even longer. After sitting, waiting as long as we could, we finally had to bail the drive thru line when no was coming back on the intercom otherwise, we would have missed the wedding. Maybe it’s just me but I seem to have the same challenges at Wendy’s in Wasilla regardless of what day or time it is. Maybe Alaska is just extremely inefficient in the fast-food sector.
French fries were cold. Got a blackberry cranberry lime aid and it tasted staticy.

Including all of the completely incompetent staff!!You guys have had more than enough time to figure out how to do your job. However the drive thru still takes WAY too long. It’s quite ridiculous. Good food. Good slushies. Even better, they put a fry in my tater tots. Many would be mad at this but I love fries better than I love tater tots. And its a sonic in Alaska. Of course I love it. Missed the one we had in Arizona. I moved and now after waiting 5 years, I can enjoy a NERDS grape slushy once again!
If there’s one sonic not to go to in the entire USA it’s the one in wasilla. Terrible food, dried out out dogs, no one answers the phone and drive through is a 20-25 minute wait to get all the way through. Eat at mc donalds! It’s more worth it than this place!!!!
Long line, always. The food is not worth getting, the wait has always been long even for the simplest of orders. The drinks though, despite everything bad about this place Ill stop by everytime Im in town for the drinks. That is literally the ONLY thing going for this Sonic.

Love Sonic but this place is sooooo slow! I have never been to a fast food place that has taken so long. I have been sitting in the drive through for an hour and still haven’t made it to the menu to even order!!!!! Need to figure out something to make this move faster! It’s ridiculous!
Waited about an hour for a couple of drinks. They did have a baseball team come through and order individually, but so what! Manage your business and service your line. Disappointing. Looking to spend my money elsewhere.
Our food was cold by time we got it. The grilled chicken sandwich was dry and somewhat tough/chewy. Was not impressed at all with the fries or onion rings. This was our first time and pretty sure will be the last. We are not big on fast food to begin with and this is a reminder why we don’t waste money on fast food. The ravens enjoyed what we didn’t eat
This is not like a sonic in lower forty-eight Ive been there 3 times no onion rings we got no straws no ketup and frys cold burger Luke warm I would recommend not going to this restaurant if KFC gets a way better rating that should tell you

The food left a lot to be desired. We grabbed breakfast here and I thought it was because they were new. Now several months later I gave them another chance and not only was it the soggiest burger I have ever gotten, they messed up my sons kids meal. The drinks are okay but I for one will not be returning to have them mess up a third time.
Menu on top board was sized so small you needed a magnifying glass to read it.Food was so slow we thought they had to run to Fred Meyer to get the ingredients.5 of the things we TRIED to order, they said they were out of. You have 1 job. Keep food available for the customer. And you failed at it. Obviously the manager has no clue what to order .Never again
Many of the carhops are incredibly nice but the kitchen at this location is substantially slower compared to other Sonics in the lower 48. Hopefully this will improve going forward.
Reasonable prices and helpful staff. The food is good, although some items seem like they might be microwaved as they are a bit chewy/stale (pretzels and some of the bread items). All in all, it was a fun experience and the staff was great. We particularly enjoyed some of the items unique to Sonic, like mango-lemonade-nerds slushies, Frito-Chili burrito and the many loaded shake options with every mix in you can imagine.
Fast, friendly, ACCURATE orders, everything I love about Sonic in the lower 48 right here in Alaska. Cant wait for the one in Anchorage to open as I actually live their. Thanks Sonic staff Wasilla. My late lunch was perfect!
The food was either salty or bland. The popcorn chicken would have been enjoyable if they didnt glob the sauce in the middle and call it a day, making all of them either soaked in the sauce or untouched. The lemonade and the limeade were the only good thing about both of my experiences jg team
Lobby was closed for no reason at 7pm. Very long wait at the drive thru. Over 30+ minutes for one shake. Give me your card. Take you shake that was it.

I get when it’s busy the wait time will be longer. So as we watched the little buttons on the screen get closer and closer to the “headed your way” it was all good. Until the cars next to us who arrived after us got their food before us. After 20+ minutes when I push the button to check on it, a girl shows with one drink. We ordered 2 drinks, popcorn chicken, cheese sticks and pretzels. I was given the excuse the headsets were not working - yet our order was just fine on the screen and I paid for it. When we finally got our items close to 30 minutes later I asked if it was sitting or just got done. They said it was just finished. When I asked jay the issue was I got an other reflective excuse about a drive off in the stall so they didn’t know where the food went etc etc. I would have been better with “we just messed up, sorry”. Instead I got excuse after excuse and no offer for a fix, discount or free item. Then get home and they forgot any of the sauces 😞

The food is usually good but service takes an eternity. Its basically a traditional restaurant with in-car seating. We Almost always have to wait 30+ minutes for food after ordering.
You make hotdogs, burgers and snacks. How the hell does it take an hour in the drive thru to get your food??? I see the owner reads the reviews and comments back... but what are you doing to prevent such long wait times???
The other reviews aren’t exaggerating when they state how slow this location is. Thirty-five mins for one Route 44 drink, when they had only one vehicle at a time in the drive thru and a handful in stalls, is quite ridiculous.*Update*I appreciate the owner responding. I’ll definitely call during business hours. They have the opportunity to thrive at this location. Hopefully this will improve.
So so sooooo incredibly slow. Good food but my god please re-train the workers this is not up to par. Your loosing so much revenue and I assume customers at that!

I ordered a cheesy bacon pretzel with no onion and had onion rings as my side. What I got was a bacon pretzel with onions and onion rings that were old and soggy.
They are beyond slow. they have the drive thru blocked so no one can get out. will not be coming here again i’ve been sitting for 15 minutes and haven’t even ordered

Pretty good! I got the ocean drink somehow it tasted different than Florida,that one tasted better than Wasilla. The hamburger patties tasted fresh, not as sloppy. Over all good!
Don’t waste your time. I drove up they didn’t have strawberry, so I couldn’t get the shake I wanted. So I ordered food, and they messed up my order before I even give them my debit card. I just drove off they had an attitude as if it was my fault. Not cool .
Extremely inefficient and slow. More than a dozen employees standing around while orders in the lobby are all taken through one register. Most employees dont seem to know what theyre doing. Lines are 20+ people deep while several tables are being taken up by employees eating. The only redeeming thing is that theyve only been open 8 days so some levels of inefficiency can be tolerated. The food is just regular fast food, nothing special. Money handling is all done out of sight. I dont recommend this place and I cant see them lasting in Alaska. The drive in concept is not likely to work when snow and ice are 2 feet deep or more.
Not sure it was worth the drive from Anchorage. But the cherry limeade was on point. The grilled chicken sandwich needed more seasoning. The portion size is good. I was introduced to Sonic while living in Atlanta, so it aint the same.
Wait time is about 50 minutes even if you place your order beforehand to be picked up. Customer service is not good either. The front desk person should not have to be taking drive through orders. Boxes inside the dining room taking up two tables makes the restaurant feel even more disorganized. Food is cold by the time you get it
Getting a couple of drinks here literally takes forty five minutes. Orders are usually correct, but two limeades and a blast shouldn’t take most of an hour.
