Beautiful location! Nice atmosphere, and great food and drinks! Every city needs a coffee shop like this.

An awesome find on our way to Bristol Caverns. Didn’t realize there were two locations until we had ordered at the Drive-Thru. We went early afternoon and what we purchased was fresh and delicious.

Finally got a chance to visit Blackbird after so many months of missing opportunities 🙌 The interior of the bakery is classy, like a peaceful coffeehouse with amazing atmosphere. It can be busy at times so having patience is key! The employees are friendly and attentive amongst the noise. There is variety here so anyone should be able to walk away with something.I got a few different treats to try: the strawberry dream, the chocolate dream, regular chocolate cake, apple fritters and Bavarian cream Bismarcks. The cakes were all so delicious, moist, and fresh. The frosting was rich. The portions here are huge and high quality, so each treat is worth the price in my opinion.My personal favorite was the strawberry dream cake. If your looking for a moist cake with fruity taste infused in every layer, you will not be disappointed! Cant wait to return.

Nice bakery. Atmosphere is great. Usually playing jazz. Food is good. Had a cake batter frappe and a raspberry cheesecake this visit. A little expensive but worth the price in the long run.

Everything we got was delicious. My husband got a butter pecan waffle cone, one son got chocolate ice cream in a cup, the other got a chocolate chip cookie, and I got a blueberry lemon cheesecake bar. My bar was huge and I ate it in 3 separate sittings. Honestly one of the most delicious desserts Ive ever had. The only complaint I might have is that the chocolate ice cream was a little grainy, but my son ate it and liked it anyway! Definitely will return.

Blackbird is always a first choice when passing through bristol. The desserts are delicious (I love the cheesecakes) and the staff are friendly. Its a little pricey but its honestly worth it for the quality. Definitely recommend!

The Chocolate Tower and Donuts are awesome. We had been to the Bakery and were very impressed, so we decided to spend a beautiful summer day and go back. We drive 2 hours one way to take some friends to the bakery. Our friends said it was worth the trip. Best Donuts he had ever eaten. He wants to go back again....I see a Fall trip to Blackbird Bakery in our future.

WARNING: This bakery is for cheat day only! It might be easiest to belabor how much of a treat everything is, but what’s important to know about this place is that it sets the standard for quality ingredients and presentation as well. Imagine if a hibachi place in the Tri-Cities tried as hard as Blackbird? Or any restaurant in the Tri-Cities tried as hard as Blackbird. Here, the effort shows and we can only hope more restaurants follow suit.

Food is 5 star!! Everything we have got from the bakery has been delicious.Service is 1 star! Both times we have been (the most recent was yesterday 8/21/21) the employees we have encountered have been kind of rude. A couple of months ago on our first trip, the guy checking us out kind of made fun of how much we were buying. We will not be going back any time soon!

Everything is Fabulous! We come for the donuts, but never leave without taking home some macaroons! The staff has always been helpful and friendly, and you cant beat a bakery thats open 24 hours a day and only closed on Sunday.

So I usually love blackbird. However, I called in July to place an order with someone named Joanie or Janie or something to that nature, for our wedding in September. She took my order for 150 cupcakes and said that was great and she would get them to us the day of the wedding. In august around a month before the wedding I called and asked if we were still good to go, and someone said yes. A week before the wedding I called again, again I got a yes. I even asked for a price when I called but they couldn’t give me one because they weren’t the baker. Fast forward to my wedding day and my husband goes to pick up 150 cupcakes, and he’s told “we must have lost your order”. They LOST my order, and still made my husband pay for MORE cupcakes because of their screw ups, and it still was only 40 cupcakes. Will not be recommending for any big events or parties.

Great products but the service was terrible!!! Walk in with about 10 or so people in line. There was one person at the register and one person filling orders. The bad part was you could see at least two people through a doorway to the back on their phones and talking. They stayed back there for a while before coming out to help move the line and then the lady that waited on me rushed me and was kinda rude. Again the items I got were good but maybe work on the customer service.

Its a charming and wonderfully cozy café and bakery. The pastries are delectable and fresh, and the coffee is wonderful. Not to mention how convenient it is that its right down the street from the Bristol hotel.

I stopped into the Bird to grab my daddys favorite donut only to find they had sold out. Upon asking about them the lady was quick to say we can make that for you. The staff was super friendly and the place looked spotless and smelled amazing. So glad I was able to stop in while in town. I hear the owners are pretty amazing 💙

It was a really solid experience at blackbird. Spent 20+ dollars on small stuff here and there, donuts, macs, cookies, etc. great experience and service the only real knock is paying roughly 4$ for a very old lemon bar. Unfortunate.... however, I would recommend this place, it was a pretty good experience.

Blackbird Bakery was phenomenal! We were visiting from out of town and stopped in for breakfast. The building is absolutely gorgeous and they had decorated it for Christmas. It was so cozy and comfortable. They had a huge variety of pastries and sweets available and everything we got was absolutely delicious. The coffee was also great and we enjoyed just sitting on the couch by the fireplace and visiting. We actually ended up stopping in the same evening after dinner so my husband could pick up a cheesecake and the place was packed! They had a musician playing live Christmas music and the line wound through the entire room. From cookies and brownies to ice cream and cakes, it was a great place to get dessert. We were blown away by this unexpected find!

This place is quirky, but in a good way. They have the best tiramisu Ive ever had and its so cool that they stay open 24 hours. The prices are also super great!

First time there so I picked out a little bit of everything. So far Ive eaten half an apple fritter, half a maple donut and a macaron. The macaron is one of the best Ive ever had!! The apple fritter was scrumptious!! The donut left a little to be desired.... It was 2pm so maybe they had been there since this morning. However, I ordered a maple and it was more chocolate than maple. Also, when I told the girl behind the counter that I was gonna get a half dozen donuts she just started putting a miscellaneous variety into the box. Wasnt sure if she was making up a box for a call in order or what but then she said Ill meet you down at the register. When I told her that I wanted to pick the ones I wanted she said Oh, so do you want any of these that I put in the box? I told her no and then as I was telling her what I wanted she said there was already a maple in there. Well if what she pointed to was a maple then they need to rename it because it has no maple flavor. It was chocolate glazed and had some kind of beige colored squiggle on top of it that didnt taste like maple. Besides that one snaffu, the service was good and I cant wait to try the croissants I bought.

There stuff is pretty good, agreed, until you try to get something made for you, talked to bakery manager about making a wedding cake, she rushed through our conversation on phone spit out a price told me to email pic of what I wanted haven’t heard anything back, called last week she was on another call asked to have her call me back, never heard from her, then called today couldn’t get through till 12 to have a rude person answer phone and said hold on and disconnected the call, I’m done!!!! Not that good to keep having my time wasted!

Superior coffee and pastries. This place is a gem. If you are traveling down I-81 and looking for a great coffee shop/ bakery, it is not far off the interstate and well worth the stop.

I love this location. However there are a few bad eggs that work at the location closest to the bristol state street.. Would like to see a change in attitude twords alternative customers from specific employees. Otherwise this place is great priced and great quality!

Delicious bakery in a very cute atmosphere. Lots of great choices for food and drinks. Lots of seats for a relaxing stop. There was a short line but it went quickly. The brownies were so good. We will definitely be back.

Be very careful with how much you’re getting charged. I bought a cheesecake here and they show $4.95 in the display case but charge you $5.50 + tax … very unethical. I get the impression that they’re not very concerned with what their customers think.

People come from all over the Tri-Cities just to come to Blackbird. Everything Ive ever tried has been super delicious, but the chocolate croissant is hands-down my favorite. Its a town favorite for a reason!They carry all sorts of pastries. Macarons, scones, brownies, cookies, danishes, multiple kinds of donuts, and coffee of course. Their hot chocolate is amazing and perfect on a cold day.

We were excited when Blackbird opened in Bristol Va. closer for us to try. We went over from Abingdon one morning and bought a sampling of all. I was so disappointed. Donuts all seemed heavy and greasy. Fritters same. They were large. Not a big pastry person. Thought I would try cinnamon rolls, although I just read a very 👎🏻 revue on them. Shoot! Will need to try for myself.

My friends from Bristol Tennessee bragged about this place. It’s been in the family quite along time. Went to check them out and my doughnuts were raw in the middle( creamed filled)but my cheese cakes were fabulous!!The staff were friendly , quick and efficient. Recommended for sure.

The amazing pecan rolls and coffee is why we keep going back. The sevice is terrible. The new store is much better just hope they open inside soon.

Had a hard time finding the bakery. Then the young man who waited on us rushed us through wanted to order more items but he had turned to wait on the next customers in line. This was our first time to the bakery. Needless to say we will not be going back and the items we bought had a very sour taste to them and we didnt eat them.

Blackbird Bakery is so good you may become addicted. If you like sweet treats this place has something fresh and amazing for you. The staff are very friendly and helpful. The store is bright and clean. The atmosphere is relaxed and fun. They have plenty of seating upstairs, downstairs, and even outside. Whether youre working to beat a deadline, relaxing with friends, or something in between this is a great place to treat yourself. If youre traveling through Bristol, Blackbird Bakery should be at the top of your to-do list.

Best local bakery, hands down. They offer a huge selection of goodies at reasonable prices. Always fresh and tasty. They have a drive thru building now- separate location than the downtown one. They hardly have anything and have a huge menu of donuts but never have what we want. Skip it and go to the main bakery! It’s worth getting out of the car for.

We are new to the area and we were hearing all super fantastic things about this 24 hr bakery !! How delicious and above and beyond this bakery was. We were there at 10am. The display shelves seemed picked over. The two young gentleman behind the counter were entertaining a friend who was pretending to be a patron and they ignored us longer than they should have so they can work on their customer service some..We each got a donut so our 40 minute drive was not a complete loss and I gotta say..the chocolate iced donut was nothing to make me drive the extra time that it takes. Im sure we wont be coming back anytime soon... Especially since Bristol Bakery being just down the road from Blackbird was phenomenal as bakerys go !!!

A fun tourist experience, perhaps perpetuated by our timing of coming on a holiday weekend. Long lines and cafeteria style ordering took away from the ability to really look at the cases and what was for sale when we were there. Id imagine this isnt as much of an issue on non-holiday weekends. For our taste, the cheesecake we had purchased was half cake/crust and half cheesecake...not our style, but certainly not a bad choice for someone into that kind of ratio. We were at the main location for our purchase as we tried to go to a satellite location earlier and they only allowed drive thru. We prefer to see the goodies before purchase and pick directly from the case as that is part of the fun of going into bakeries for us. Overall a good experience, but I dont know if we would be back as it was not exactly our style of baked goods.

Went to the one on Common wealth . The donuts were bad , cold couldn’t have been fresh. Try the convenience store next time couldn’t get worse.

Even with the lack of enjoying the inside of this wonderful bakery for now its still worth the trip down to pick up some of your favorites. The donuts are always as tasty as they are colorful. Flavor choices abound and you can find some very delicious tastes. The other selections are wonderful as well. Everything tastes homemade. With the exception of the cakes which I havent had yet I would recommend anything that sits in their cases

I stopped in here while staying in Bristol for work. I was expecting a more general bakery, with savory breakfast items as well as sweet. The savory options were minimal, but the butter croissant was perfect. If I needed donuts or desserts, I would DEFINITELY come back here and try something from their amazing case of beautiful pastries! Should have done my research rather than just seeing a bakery sign on my drive in and making assumptions. Only reason for a 4 star is that I cannot speak to the quality of the vast majority of what the serve since I didnt try it.

Went to Blackbird for the first time today. I had heard great things about it from friends, so we drove an hour and a half to try it out. I got two donuts, a tart, and a slice of cake. The donuts were nothing special, tasted like a normal Krispy Kreme donut to me, but the tart and cake were absolutely delicious.What made us frustrated was the lack of good customer service. The line was very long but that did not seem to light a fire under any of the staff at all. We waited in line for an hour. Sometimes not a single person was at the counter, they were all in the back. When they were present, staff would often ignore customers to chat with one another. The staff member helping me stopped in the middle of fulfilling my order to check her phone. Not sure if this is some sort of sales tactic (having a long line to create a perception of value?) But it was frustrating to have our time so disrespected.

I took my boys there after perusing a local cruise in. The atmosphere is wonderful and the selection was so great my boys changed their minds about 4 times before settling on their choices. Everything was scrumptious. We will return! And quite a long line for almost 9pm.

Good place with good food just needs better staff that knows how to get the line moving and the customers out the door without such a long wait!!

Are you kidding me? Theres a bakery / dessert shop thats open 24 hours a day? We hit this place twice a day while we were in Bristol. Mornings brought quiche or donuts or fruit tarts, and it was ice cream late at night. The staff behind the counter was always friendly and helpful (and patient). Plenty of room to sit and enjoy your food and coffee, with mezzanine or first level dining room, and outdoor sidewalk seating.

I dont know what the big hype is for this place. Got a chocolate mint brownie. The green color was there but no mint flavor. Most unfriendly staff Ive ever encountered. No smiles and sour attitudes. Last visit for us.

Beautiful selection of pastries, fruit squares are delicious. They know how to make real coffee. Overall, a great place that must be experienced at least once a day.

We special ordered a Fresh 9 Orange Cake, from Blackbird Bakery. It is one of the most delicious cakes, that you will ever try! It is very much worth, their price. Very, very, good.

Wonderful experience! We tried a sampling of their confections and each was a stand alone success. The donuts were some of the best we’ve ever had; the eclair melted into the palate and the presentation was delicious by itself. That being said, the surprise was the pumpkin dream cake. It was perfection with every bite. This place is well worth the drive.

Live this place. My husband and I go all the time for something sweet and a cup of coffee.
