A very small place but very popular. The wait to get the coffee is long because of all the individual made specialty coffees. So a simple coffee and tea takes a long time. They should try to find a quick away for that type of coffee. We split an egg sandwich which was very good and very reasonable. The young women running the place are very personable and do a nice job. Its upstairs seating and outside seating.

We come here every week as a family. Its usually a good experience, but recently weve been noticing that they are cutting corners with their food. Sometimes theyll over charge us, deviate from menu prices, or skimp out on our takeout orders. Yesterday is a good example. We ordered three pancakes, but all together. We usually order them seperate, but we figured we could save them the packaging this time. So we grab our order and go home. For each pancake they give us butter and maple syrup. But because it was done as 1 order, they only gave us one butter and and one maple syrup, although it was three pancakes. We called them, and they said, thats just how the order is done since its one order. But to me thats them being cheap and stingy, even though were paying good money for this stuff. Dont be cheap with the customers giving you business every week.

With a 30 min wait to place the order and a 30 min wait to get our food i thought it was going to be really good, however it was not. We made the mistake of tipping not realizing we had to bus our own table and were told there were seats when we ordered and there were not. When the waitress brought us our food we requested glasses of water and she said she would get them and never came back. Not sure how self bussing ensures the table was clean before we sat down. Especially after I found the table cleaner in the bathroom. Food wasnt bad but not worth the money we paid.

Stopped by while traveling through the state, wish I could be a regular!! The food is excellent if a little pricey, but you get what you pay for! I tried the orange ricotta pancakes - deliciously moist with just the right amount of orange. My partner had the beehive biscuits with bacon which were good - I have to assume he liked them more than he let on when I asked as they disappeared from his plate before I could ask to try a bite! He wasnt even that hungry when we went, either. The staff were very polite and helpful, despite the ordering/seating process being a little confusing for us. Place an order at the counter and theyll give you a table marker (ours was a toy panther) with silverware, bring your food and drink to the table of your choosing, but never come back to check on you or see if you need anything else. Read some reviews after we went and didnt realize we were supposed to self-bus? Of the three other parties that were dining in, only one cleared off their own table so Im not sure if that review is accurateTL;DR: food is yummy and worth the price, would come back if Im ever in the area again.

I dont give 5 stars out of principle but this place deserves it. Its a very cute cafe bakery downstairs and a restaurant upstairs (they sell beer, wine, and possibly hard liquor). The atmosphere is warm and pleasant. And the food. The food is incredible. The Beehive specializes in vegan, vegetarian, and gluten free options, so everyone has something they can really enjoy (they serve meat, dairy, and gluten products too). Everything tastes healthy and fresh, the portion sizes are perfect, and you dont feel gross after you eat. The desserts are also amaaaazing (the mint chocolate chip cake is probably the best thing Ive ever eaten). The service is great too! Everyone is so friendly. In the summer theres outside seating & a deck as well. Highly recommend.

Nice spot. Happy it was open on Monday. Mustve come in as the staff needed a break cause they were much nicer to other who came in after we were served. So, one less star for begrudging service.I tried the golden latte...spicy good. My mom had a perfectly pumpkin latte. Flavor was on point, but the latte was sloshed during the pour, so the cup was swimming on delivery. That sloppiness doesnt behoove a nice spot like this. Sticky sipping really detracts from the special visit. A quick wipe and new saucer wouldve made a much nicer experience.A bit more attention to detail could make this place 100%

The Beehive Cafe is an adorable neighborhood gem in Bristol, RI. It’s the perfect way to end a ride along the East Bay Bikepath. I’ve gone two times and you can definitely expect a wait on the weekends, but it’s worth it. You’ll have to wait in line to order at the counter, but hopefully you’ve brought along a friend who can snag a table somewhere for you. The polenta cakes with poached eggs and pesto are divine. Exactly the kind of thing you want to refuel you for the ride back home. The crispy chickpeas are *addictive.* Oh my goodness. You’ll be craving them for days!

I got their supposedly popular breakfast burrito, and it was pretty bad in my opinion. The beans tasted as if they were right out of a can, not even strained. The hash browns and the burrito had a strange taste to it as well... almost like a “clean” taste, but not the good kind of “clean” taste, rather the “clean” taste that reminds you of cleaning chemicals. I would give two stars, but the tea was good so I gave three. Maybe their other food is better. I’d steer clear of the breakfast burrito though! Not worth the price either. The cafe was cute and had nice outdoor seating and made good accommodations for COVID-19.

We go here often and the food is usually great, but yesterday we had a very disappointing experience. We didn’t receive a text saying our order was ready, but went in to check just in case at the time the original email estimated. Our food was on the table and was obviously sitting there for a long time- everything was cold. My boyfriend’s omelette was undercooked and runny, my egg was ice cold, and my drink was cold. Luckily my French toast still tasted good cold, and we just shared that. We would have gone back if we hadn’t walked to the park to eat it. It was a shame because the food is usually worth the price and the drive. We’re pretty understanding about the fact that covid is stressful for businesses and that it was pretty busy, but when the food is inedible it’s just not cool. We ended up getting the “your food is ready” text about 10 minutes after we started eating our already cold food...

We used to love The Beehive Cafe...until our experience at our last visit.Youll be as confused as we all were.We went around lunch time, it was very busy with a line to the door. We planned on eating at the cafe but when it was time to order we took a look around and there were no tables open for our party of 4. We asked the 2 female employees if there were open tables upstairs, they said they hadnt been up there recently so they didnt know. We checked, there wasnt. So we told the employee to just make our order to-go because we wouldnt be guaranteed a table. After waiting about 30 minutes in a very congested area and receiving several rude excuse mes from the employees, we grabbed our food and headed out the door. On our way out, we noticed there was an open table outside for 4 people. This restaurant is seat yourself, so we decided wed sit there and eat instead.I went inside to ask for utensils, which they hand out at the register. A female employee and a male manager were standing behind the counter when I requested them. She said how many do you need? I said 4. She then handed me the utensils, paused and said oh your food was to-go and took the utensils out of my hand. I said yes, thinking they would give me plastic utensils instead. NOPE!The male manager said if you order food to-go then you arent welcome to sit and eat and they refused to give me any utensils to eat the food that I just ordered from their restaurant!I explained that we originally ordered to-go because there were no tables available and now there is a table so we are sitting outside. He said no, our policy doesnt allow you to sit and eat. I said, but I just paid and got our food, were sitting out there because theres an open table, youre telling us we have to leave?? He said yes thats our policy. Being so confused, I stopped to let this sink in as the female employee stared at me with the most annoyed, unpleasant look. I asked, why is that your policy? I didnt know if I was missing something or was unaware of a local code so I was looking for a better understanding. He said thats just our policy.I went out to the patio, confused and shocked to explain to my group that they were making us leave. They thought I was joking. The 3 other tables of customers heard my story and encouraged me to go back in and talk to the owner. They all agreed, as paying customers, like them, we should be able to eat there. We went back inside and asked for the owner and some further understanding. They said the manager already spoke with the owner and he isnt allowing us to stay. We expressed how it didnt make any sense and that we wouldnt be returning if they wouldnt allow us to sit and eat our meals that we JUST purchased from their SEAT YOURSELF establishment. The females response? Okay then, dont come back. They couldnt care less. Classless, insulting, unpleasant, zero customer service. Zero kindness. So disappointing, as their food is good. But not that good. Not good enough to be treated like they dont value our business. Its so disturbing that there are people in this world that think its okay to treat others with no humanity...

Good, Okay and huh? The breakfast is really good here. We ordered the french toast and the pancakes the french toast was amazing. The pancakes were unfortunately heavy and dry. The okay part is paying upfront. We didn’t mind its just kinda weird in this market to pay upfront when other restaurants do that transaction after the meal. The table seating is confusing and that was never explained to us. Basically, when you order and pay, you are given a marker. You have to take that marker (in our case it was horse) and bring it to a table. Then the servers know where to go with the food. The huh part was that we had to also pay for a tip upfront? After the breakfast was brought to us, we ate and then brought the dishes over to a bucket upstairs. Essentially, we cleaned off the table ourselves. Think about that when you are paying for the tip upfront. Overall this place gets a B. The rating is only for the food. Service is lacking.

My husband and I use to live in Bristol and frequently came here - staff was always so kind and food was always so great. Came back for lunch for old times sake, I ordered a coffee and husband ordered a beer. Ask for his ID, I understand because we’re baby faced but after checking his ID they then apparently needed to see mine too. Rubbed me the wrong way because the woman behind the counter seemed determined to nail us for being too young to drink a singular beer, that wasn’t even intended for me to drink, with lunch that she forgot what we ordered and we wound up having to repeat it back to her. We’re use to constantly being asked for ID even as we push 30, but what isn’t cool is when it clearly becomes a power trip for someone. And then on top of all this they forget the beer. I asked when they brought the food if his beverage was also on the way since it hadn’t been called out downstairs nor had it been brought to us and the busser/server turned in her heel without a word got it, brought it to him, and when he said thanks! With genuine sincerity in his voice because he doesn’t get frustrated like I do, she still didn’t say anything back like no problem or a sorry about that. Bummer, loved this place and it had always been a special treat to us but the service is what kept us coming back in addition to the yummy food.
