Carmen is an excellent seamstress and a wonderful kind and patient women. She hemmed are dresses so they wouldnt drag the ground and altered the tops so they fit comfortably. Thank you Carmen It fix prefect!!

Carmen is wonderful! She was attentive to my needs, and I am extremely particular. I had my wedding gown altered by her, and Im so glad I found her. Definitely worth the money!

I got married in 2016 and forgot to review till I found Carmen again to give her number to another bride. Let me just say she is AMAZING. I bought a dress that was 3 sizes too large for me at the time. We talked over the phone and I sent her photos of my dress, (which had intricate beading) to make sure she could adjust it that much. She assured me she could and she did an amazing job. Much of the beading had to be undone and redone and she was meticulous in making sure it was perfect. She is timely, affordable, and so so sweet. I would recommend her to every bride!

Before finding Carmen, I brought my dress to Nordstrom and got a quote for the alterations. Not only did they say they could not take care of multiple of my requests, but they were rude, and they wanted to charge me over $300 even though my dress only costed $160. I immediately went on the search for a new alterations person. When I first spoke with Carmen, I immediately knew she would be perfect for me. She was sweet, knowledgable, informative, and extremely friendly. She told me how the entire process would go from start to finish so that there was no confusion. I had 3 appointments with her total. The first picture below is from the first appointment before any modifications. I needed to get a lace piece added in the cleavage because it was too revealing. She created THREE example pieces for me to try out during my second appointment. During my second appointment, she carefully pinned each of them in for me to decide which I liked best. By the third appointment, the dress was perfect. During the entire process, she never once made me feel too needy or demanding. She took each of my requests very seriously and was just a pleasure to work with. On top of that, her pricing was VERY reasonable, and I was more than willing to pay whatever because of how excellent her service was. Even though this alterations spot is in Carmens garage, which may be a little bit unusual, I guarantee your experience will be better there than any other alterations place in Tampa area. I went to Carmen to get alterations done on my pants and uniform, because she was recommended to me. I was told she did a really good job. However, my experience with her was the complete opposite. I called her prior to going to her business “home” it’s a 40min drive, I called several times but she did not answer and the call kept getting forwarded to voicemail. I drove to her business and the way I was greeted was being asked if I had an appointment and when I said no, I was asked why didn’t I call and schedule one. I told her I had, in fact I called several times none of which she answered. She told me she had a customer coming and I could go to someone else for the alterations I needed. I told her I came to her because of the recommendation and I was hesitant to go elsewhere because my uniforms weren’t cheap to just take anywhere. Her response was take one and see if she does a good job. That’s not an answer to give a customer by any means. It’s unprofessional and it speaks volume of her business. She may have given other people great services, but my experience with her was not pleasant. To include I was on the phone and instead of letting me finish my call she interrupted twice as I told her I was on the phone taking care of something important.

It was a pleasure working with Carmen. I had cups sewn in, my dress took in, and my grandmothers blouse added in the shape of a heart. When I came to pick up my dress it fit perfectly, I couldnt have been more pleased. Thank you for helping making me look beautiful on my wedding day!

Carmen is amazing and such an artist !!! My dress was 5 sizes to big and had lots of lace and beading to it which made it a bit difficult for other alteration people to get it to my liking. Other people wanted to charge twice as much then Carmen wanted and the other people couldn’t even get it to look like the way I envisioned it looking for my big day. Carmen on the other hand shared the same and even better vision with me from day one since I brought the dress to her. She did wonders to the dress. It did take a couple appointments to make it exactly right but that was expected of from day one. She even steamed my dress and vail. Trust Carmen !! Your dress is in good hands!! My mother and law and bridesmaid went to her as well for there dress and did amazing work !! Thank you so much Carmen for being apart of my big day and making me feel like a princess!!

Carmen is wonderful and was such a pleasure to work with! My dress was perfect after her alterations. She is SO nice and I never felt rushed or stressed during my appointments. I was initially a little nervous after my gown was shipped to me from out of state - as it was quite big and long. She was confident that it would fit perfect and it she was so right! Carmen did such an amazing job! She works directly out of an air conditioned garage out of her home, so it is very intimate and comfortable. Carmen is so welcoming and motherly. She added beading onto my dress and took the dress in at least 4 times! With many adjustments and changes (due to my indecisiveness) she went with the flow, and kept reminding me that it was no problem! I am so happy that I chose her, and highly reccomend her for your altering needs. Thanks again Carmen!

Carmen did a fabulous job with my wedding dress! I came in with a lot of requests to make my dress perfect, and she was able to tackle all of them with ease, turning around the finished product in just a few weeks at a great price. On top of that, she is so sweet and easy to work with! She took the time to show my mom and sister how to bustle my dress, so on the day of my wedding, they were able to do it without any issue. I would absolutely recommend her to anyone looking for an alterations specialist in Tampa!

I was disappointed with the service.. Carmen was a little rude and rushed..I wanted my dress altered and she cut too much material out, showing my underwear when I walked and expected me to be ok with it. She tried to fix it but it but she messed up again..I took my dress somewhere else to get it fixed.

This was my first experience with Carmen and she made it very easy and after just one fitting my bridesmaids gown fits perfectly!... and at a very reasonable price as well. :-) I would definitely recommend anyone in the area to use her bridal services... shes at the top of my list now, for sure! Carmen is amazing. She was able to shorten my dress in time for my wedding. She had less than a month to fix a dress that was 8 inches too long and now its perfect!

Carmen did a good job. Nice lady, just be sure to get specific when asking for a price. What was communicated at my first visit ended up not being true at second visit. There was a misunderstanding and changes ended up costing me more than I thought.

Carmen is so sweet and does an excellent job, she takes great care of the items she is altering. I took my wedding dress here two weeks ago and she was able to do some alterations at the last minute for me. I was so relieved to find her. She does great work and treats your garnent with such detail and care.
