I purchased an 8 X 10 area rug from a big box store. It needed to be cut down to custom size to it into our RV. I brought it to Carpet Depot to have cut and cut side bounded. They were able to match thread color and am very pleased with finished product.

My experience with FLOORING DEPOT is unequivocally the worst I have had with any company in the region. My client purchased a top of the line Mohawk Carpet highly recommended by the sales person at FLOORING Depot which evidently was very poorly installed and within the first year began to show signs of buckling. When brought to the attention of the representative, Steve, there was, he said, no recourse. MOHAWK CARPETs one year warranty had expired and the installation date 18 months prior. Upon inspection, Steve agreed the carpet needed stretching and admitted that the installer FLOORING DEPOT had employed for the job had been fired. They would re-stretch the carpet for a fee of $300. There would be no compensation for the poor installation. A carpet is only as good as its Installation. We proceeded scheduling for the stretching which could not be done until Steve felt he could get the best team. Finally, a date was set, not one to necessarily accommodate my client, but one adjusting to FLOORING DEPOTS schedule. The carpet stretching was last in a general remodeling, repainting project. Furniture and fittings had been removed and the apartment vacated for the approximate three weeks of the renovation. The carpet had been thoroughly cleaned and was ready to be stretched. The installer we were told by Steve, would be at the apartment first thing in the morning. By 10:00 am no one arrived. Steve was called only to say, he did not give us a time. (He had. He said 9:00 am). Then he said he would track down the installer and call back. He never called so I called back at 11:30. Steve was gone on another job and the manager BUD would take over. NOON: no call back from Bud who was tracking down the Installer. Bud said he would have it done today. 12:30: Called back to speak to Bud. Bud was gone for the day. I spoke to Steve who said the installer had the flu and would not come. He was trying to find another installer for today 1:00 PM I called Steve only to have him reprimand me for expressing my concern by telling me that I BarK at him each time I call.I take exception to this comment, to Steves rude, abrasive and demeaning posture which is clearly harassment. When I pushed back on his manner, he said he would try to find someone to do the job. It is clear there are no adequate installers employed by this company. I gather they free-lance installers and he was trying to find someone to do the job.I began to research carpet stretching companies in the region on the internet, found one in less than five minutes and have successfully arranged for the job to be done at a time that suits my client and not a time that suitsG FLOORING DEPOT.This has been a most distressing situation and an illustration of complete incompetence on the part of FLOORING DEPOT and its employees.

They sent people who didnt know how to install the product we purchased from them, and the installers ruined our furniture and our air conditioning duct work. We bought a very expensive resilient type of tile from them, plus laminate flooring. They had to remove the existing ceramic tile from our floors. The crew removed the tile without covering any of our furniture and with the air conditioning running. The dust from the tile removal completely inundated our furniture ruining some of the textile coverings. The A/C sucked up the dust and we ended up having to have the duct work and air handler replaced. (I spoke to some other installers later, they said that the first thing they do when removing ceramic tile is cover the furniture with cling wrap plastic to protect it, and seal off all A/C duct returns) The crew chief said he had never installed this type of tile before. His crew put it in. We had to have another man come back and remove it and do it all over again. The folks at Carpet Depot apologized and they did send one of the installers wife over to do some cleaning of our home, but the damage was already done. They did not display any real concern for all of the damage caused by their crew. Their son who came over to look at the work even joked about it saying that it could have been worse, and laughing. I would never do business with them again, nor would I ever recommend them to anyone else. They seemingly just wanted our money, and the heck with the quality of the work. Maybe they have done good work for others, but they sure didnt for us. They did this work 3 1/2 years ago, it has taken me that long to calm down enough so that I would not write a totally negative review.
