Really great service all around. Had to get a wire replaces for the lights on the trailer to work and they fit me in despite being busy. They were fast, super helpful, and a great value. Best U-Haul o have used.

Woman doing tests this morning couldnt help get propane. She says danica can help us and multiple people start pouring in needing service. She continues to sit at the computer and says 5 times Danica will be out to help us. Danica never shows up and the lady doing tests dorsnt think at all to go get Danica while 6 people are awaiting service. The woman at the desk had clear attitude of well thats not my jobTerrible service for no good reason.

I understand that Bozeman is a college town, and that moving trucks are hard to find after graduation — which is why I rented (and paid for) a moving truck over a month in advance. I’m frustrated because I woke up this morning to a phone call saying that not only was the truck I rented not available, but that no U-Haul trucks were available within 300 miles of Bozeman. I was supposed to pick up the truck tomorrow so that I could move, and had planned this all around ending my lease at my apartment the day after the move, and I was only given notice today that I would have to completely change plans. Of course, every other moving truck agency (Penske, Budget, etc.) had rented all their trucks already too, so I was left to scramble in an attempt to fix this. Thank heavens for Enterprise in Missoula (a 3 hr drive out of the way to pick up the truck), or else I’d be begging for a lease extension right now. U-Haul was kind enough to return my rental fees in full, which is much appreciated, but I would certainly still recommend looking elsewhere (in Bozeman and in general) for a moving truck.

Great service. Riley set me up for a brake controller. He spoke very highly of his install crew in his 7th Street Bozeman location. Amazing customer service! When the parts arrived and I set my appointment for installation Sam was super! Installation was amazing and I was able to purchase a wireless controller that made everything much easier for everybody. Technology upgrade! Made an appointment ahead of time for 8:30am. Was asked if it was a “drop-off”... nope, that’s why I made an appointment. Was told “my hitch guy won’t be here until 9am. I check back at 10am, guy hasn’t even started the hitch install. Told to come back in 1.5 hours. Came back 2 hours later and still waiting. It’s is now 1:30pm. 5 hours to wait WITH an appointment.

After I returned the vehicle at 7:08pm last night (Bozeman location closed at 7pm), the webapp to return the truck kept locking up and refusing to work. I tried multiple different browsers, and was never able to progress beyond submitting the photo of the odometer. I ended up on the phone with Uhaul support for 40 minutes (in -15 degree weather), and as nice as the lady was they were not able to help me at all. I saw employees inside who kept looking over at me, but ignored me politely knocking on the door, and then they walked out directly past the truck, made eye contact with me, and then drove away leaving me to fight with the non-functioning app in sub-zero temperatures.It ended up taking longer to return the truck than the time I actually used it for a cross-town run, and at every step along the way Uhaul was either unable or unwilling to help. A poor showing by the company all around. If you make the mistake of renting here, be warned.

I made an appointment to get a hitch installed at 7 am today - about 2 weeks ahead of time because they had to order the hitch. The local store is too busy to answer the phone, so the calls go to the call center. The call center made the appointment and said the hitch install would take 90 minutes maximum, so I arrived at 7, expecting to be able to get to work by 9. After I got there, the guy said they would need to keep the car all day and I could come back around 6pm and that I could rent a truck if I needed to leave. He also said that the call center regularly makes appointments that the location doesn’t honor. What?!

Never use this UHaul, by far the worst one in Montana, maybe in the country. Expect threats, harassment, and to have your account billed double by the sneaky manager, Donald Whitford, if you point this out.U-haul corporate will do nothing to help you, so for your sanity while moving, go literally anywhere else.

On a cross country trip with my daughter pulling a uhaul trailer for the first time. The chain began dragging and scaring us. We pulled into the uhaul in Bozeman and Don, the general manager, helped us right away and made us feel secure again for the rest of our drive to Tennessee. Thank you thank you!

This location is really good. Very helpful and fairly laid back. Rented a trailer and my lights did not work. The tech spent time replaced a fuse at no charge and we were off.We have rented from this location multiple times, always the same.Inside you will find a good selection of moving items

I cant say enough about the service received from GM Sara Martin. I had issues with the wiring of my camper Thursday before Memorial Day weekend. She provided great service, was super friendly, and installed the correct adapter herself. A great asset to this location!

This place is allowing their customers to put names and contact info on their accounts for emergency info.I did not authorize being used as a alternate contact. I refuse the letters that are being sent to me and called them to have my info removed. They refused to remove me. Theydont accept returned mail.They have a person as a customer who is not reliable and i wont be responsible for her actions.

Edit: Review changed to one star due to aggressive and rude behavior from one of their employees, Don Whitford. Do not do business with this U-Haul unless you enjoy getting scammed, threatened, and harassed.When I tried to place my complaint, Don threatened to call the cops, since apparently he can personally refuse service on behalf of U-Haul for any reason.

Had a tow-hitch installed. It was a fairly easy procedure is what they told me but when one lacks tools and space its a bit more difficult. Regardless, the tow-hitch could be had for about $85 (online) but most were cheap and did not come with a good dongle for the trailer wiring. The installation with a lifetime warranty and was very reasonably priced in the end. I was recommended to U-Haul by numerous folks and have not regretted it since. Great job guys!

I rented a 9ft cargo van to bring some household item up from Salt Lake City. The van was clean and amazingly comfortable for the 16 hour round trip. Being a timid driver I was surprised at how easy the van was to drive. I quickly learned to use the outside rear view mirrors to monitor traffic around me. And best of all, the van got great mileage, even when fully loaded. At the rental center itself, I received good advice and lots of support for using my van. I will definitely be using this U-haul center the next time I need to rent a truck.

Best service. So impressed! Sarah helped us and was some of the best customer service iv had. I would highly recommend her. We came in very stressed because we had ordered the wrong size truck with another company and now they were sold out. We rushed to uhaul expecting it to be a process and more expensive. She made it very easy and stress free! Thanks!

I made an appointment to have a hitch installed. The day before the appointment, I was asked if I could move the appointment back 3 days. I agreed. When I brought it in, they told me I could wait because it would be pretty quick -- less than an hour. It actually took almost 3 hours. They have terrible customer service and clearly dont appreciate the business.

A reservation is not a wait list, but that is what you apparently get when you reserve with them. I just had to eat $180 in hotel reservations and now I will probably need to drive for 12 hours straight to fix what should have not been a problem if they actually had a truck to back my reservation.I would use any other means to move yourself than uhaul if you have anything sort of time sensitive aspect of your move.

We rent trucks from this location a few times a year, they now are charging $20 to drop it off after-hours, which is bs. Also, these trucks NEVER get cleaned, front or back.

I went in about 6-8 months ago to get a hitch and wiring harness installed on my Subaru. Since then the wiring harness has stopped working. I took it to my car audio specialist, whom has done excellent work for me in the past (all of which still works flawlessly) took apart the car and was horrified by the awful wiring job they did and how he wasnt surprised that it failed considering they used inappropriate connectors for an environment exposed to weather and how parts of the system were simply loosely hung from another wire with two loose zip ties, essentially letting this part bounce around in the back of my car. I then called asking about the crap install job and the person I spoke to said, I have done thousands of these installs and letting the box hang wouldnt cause it to fail. Its an electrical system and they fail. I told the car audio rep this and he was appalled. There is no warranty on this install even though they did it in one of the most round about ways they could. I will be returning for them to fix this, but I will gladly take it to Sound Pro to get this installed properly for a cost then having them simply redo this hack job if they decide to charge me. I will not be returning here for other wiring installs later on. The hitch is fine, but the wiring is not. Go to a car audio professional.

My boyfriend and I moved from New York to Montana about a two weeks ago. We had originally planned on just taking our car, but we had too much stuff and ended up having to get a trailer from Albany, NY. After driving across the country over the course of 5 days, we needed to find a place to store our stuff after giving back the U-Haul so we could find an apartment. When we checked with this U-Haul location, there was one storage unit left, which they gave to us free for a month with our trailer rental. Chad was awesome, and got us the keys to the storage locker within ten minutes. In an hour and a half, we had our stuff unloaded and the U-Haul returned. He even offered to keep an ear out for apartments for rent for us. Everyone was very friendly and helpful. I would definitely recommend using this location for renting a U-Haul.

Amazing service and staff! I came in this location to buy a tow hitch/ball for my receiver and to rent a trailer. They had exactly what I needed (and more) and their staff, especially Chad, could not have been more helpful and courteous. I had the wrong information for what I thought my vehicle required, but Chad hooked up examples of different types of hitches to determine the correct one. When I purchased the wrong wiring harness (my fault), they figured out the correct one and even installed it for no charge. I would not hesitate to recommend this location for any of your towing/truck/moving needs.

I went to this U-Haul to have a hitch installed two years ago. First, I scheduled the install for one in the afternoon, but the reservation agent made the appointment for 1am- so when I arrived they had no idea I was coming. They had time to do it and indicated the install would be about an hour. Four hours later I am mad and still waiting. Not once did anyone come out and volunteer any information about why this was taking so long. I asked a few times and they said my factory wiring harness was to blame and they were working on it. I asked if there was a discount for making me wait 3+ hours more than they indicated and the person responded that he wasnt going to charge me for the extra labor- that was my discount.Big surprise, the trailer lights didnt work correctly after the install. Having purchased the warranty, I came back to U-Haul and they fixed this. Three months later, the lights arent working again. I come back to U-Haul and am informed that the warranty doesnt cover the lights (even though it did the first time). However, my boyfriend can hook it up for me, I just have to buy another $40 or $80 wiring harness. I am shocked the warranty doesnt extend to the wiring harness and do not appreciate being condescended to. I dont need my boyfriend to do something I am perfectly capable of. More to the point, U-Haul should honor their warranty.Dont waste your time at this location!

We were provided with a trailer that had an issue with the door. We noticed it only later in the day but thought that wasnt probably that bad of an issue if Uhaul let us leave with the trailer. We brought it back late at night the following day and the next morning they called us to say that we had damaged it and they would have to replace the entire door. They didnt believe us when we told them that we had nothing to do with it. Good thing we had insurance....but I still feel that it was not right to be accused of something we didnt do and that they didnt even try to consider the fact that one of their employee might not have done their job properly... so if you rent a trailer at this location, be on your guard...!

We put in a reservation from this location a week ago and were just called today (the day before we move) to let us know that they dont have the truck we reserved. Now my Fiance is having to drive to Helena to pick up a truck with out being offered any discount or apology other than them covering the mileage and extra day on the truck. Seriously? No discount? If you wont have time to drive across the state to pick up your truck in the middle of your move then I suggest renting somewhere else if you can.

Upon dealing with this Uhaul I will forevermore boycott all U-Haul locations. What happened was I called and reserved a van to use for 24 hours. I called at approximately 2:45 p.m. I made the reservation for 6. I showed up at about 7 and noticed they emailed me at 6:30 telling me I needed to call a number. So after I just got a 22 Mile ride from Livingston, Uhaul told me I was screwed for the night. I told them I hope I freeze to death and my mom sues every ounce out of them. I have had negative interactions at other locations but this just solidifies that they hire morons only.

While moving across the country I discovered that my lights on my trailer went out. I stopped in here to have them install a new connector to my car since it was obvious that one of the wires had frayed in half. The guy that installed it ended up frying my electrical in my car and my trailer. He refused to fix what he destroyed. Once he realized what he did he tossed my keys back at me and told me he didnt have time for this. Do not use this uhaul location!

Type of service will be based on who is working that day. We have used them 11 times. We have had from the best to the worst service. Worst service is normally very worst and the rudeness that comes after they screw up is unbelievable.

Don’t do anything wrong. They will nickel and Dime you, and say to hell to customer satisfaction.

The manager here, whos name is prominently displayed all over the place is not only very rude to his staff but customers as well. The employee turnover rate here must be very high the way that he treats his employees. I wouldnt patronize this business if there was another u-haul place in town. This rating isnt a reflection on u-haul as a company, just this particular store and its so called management.

Understaffed, rude and over priced. It’s always a long wait for propane fills. Only a mile further north on 7th are two much more local options for propane refills.

While traveling our hitch broke off our RV. Happened on the weekend prior to 4th of July...very busy time for everyone but Jess was able to fit us in his schedule - on 4th of July no less! Spencer was very professional and did an excellent job of installing the new hitch on our RV. Also, our thanks to Mary for helping us install our new electric tongue jack.

Worthless staff! First, got a storage unit and they told me it would auto pay monthly. I got a late fee because they lied about auto pay so that was a week long hassle to get a reply from the manager, saying she fixed it. Now, my unit is locked after they failed to square themselves away TWICE. I’m livid and never doing business with them again. Much cheaper and better places to store things around bozeman. DONT WASTE YOUR MONEY HERE

Friday at 5 PM and only one person working the desk with a line out the door. Well be lucky to get out of here before they close.

The staff here are great. They get you out the door and on to your move as quickly as possible.

This is by far the WORST experience at U-Haul I have ever had. First, I tried ordering a 5th wheel hitch from a dealership but they ordered the wrong one so I went to UHaul. They said they could overnight it since I needed it by the weekend, but it cost over $200. I went in at 7a.m the day after it arrived and was told the job world take 4 hours. I ran some errands and waited until 11 then came back. I was then asked oh, didnt anyone call you? I said no and was then told that all the parts had not come in. No one bothered to call me, Chad was the one who was supposed to do the job. I got a bunch of excuses about how busy they were. I was then told the other part would be in by 10:30 the next day (Friday before my weekend trip). I finally got a hold of them at 11 a.m. and AGAIN Chad did bother to call me. The part had arrived an hour earlier at 10 a.m!! I dropped my truck off again then called at 3 to check on it and was told by someone that it would be ready in half an hour. I got there at 3:30 and spoke to Clayton and he told me it would be at least another hour! Whoever I spoke to on the phone didnt even check so I drove 12 miles for nothing when I could have stayed home for that time and been getting ready for my trip. Chad is by far the worst, he has an attitude and doesnt have any empathy. On a positive note, I dealt with Clayton and he was very apologetic and got the job done and they gave me a discount on the shipping charges.

I have rented from this Uhaul many times. Not only have I rented trucks, but also storage units. I have never had a problem, I have even had them make things right if a reservation fell through. They always left me satisfied and happy I came to this Uhaul.

Didnt have spaces big enough for is but had weekend hours which is nice.

Im only familiar with their quality of installation and their warranty, and both are extremely disappointing. If you have a trailer harness lighting adaptor installed in your vehicle and it fails shortly after, they will tell you that electronics fail and that there is nothing to do about it.

Terrible Service. Spent an absurd amount of money on ubox moving service. Store Manager actively mocked me while I was trying to figure out why my boxes werent delivered in the expected method. Move arrived two weeks late. An awful experience. Wont be using their services again.

Tearing your place apart & stuffing it into boxes is, already, a downer, and I perceived that as just another dry & dreary chore. I expected to see only trucks, boxes, and all things move related, thrown around with bundles of warnings, cautions, and pressure/scare tactics to purchase extras. INSTEAD (!), I found some relief from stress surrounding me! Enough so that I took a pause to write this review.In addition to plenty of info ~ much that most wouldnt have thought about (did you know they offer 30-days free storage with your rental??) ~ I, also, found the treat of expanded, interesting & important, info about where Im going. I came in to get a car towing trailer and was told that i was not aloud to get the trailer... his reasoning was becouse to vehicle i wanted to tow had 4 wheel drive. apparently he had ruined a car by towing it on one of those trailers... witch is becouse hes an idiot that dosnt know how to tow... ive done towing like this before with no problems... but it didnt matter to him he wouldnt let me rent the trailer so i had to pay for a tow truck to do the same thing i was going to do... i spent about an hour in the store arguing with the manager... its not his business what im using the trailer for...

This place has everything you could want to move your personal gear. Sara is amazingly helpful, accommodating and went out of her way to help us with our move!

Helpful and courteous, not a bad place to pick up for long hauls

So I have two uhaul horror stories one involves this location one involves a different location. The one involving this location is this, two days before my wedding I went in to reserve a trailer so that on the day of our wedding we could put all the rental chairs etc. in it at the end of the reception. They associate at the counter took all my information including my credit card number and made the reservation. On the morning of the wedding when my best and I arrived to pick up the trailer we were informed that I had no reservation and the best that they could do was rent me a smaller trailer at full price. Knowing that there was no way that all of the rental equipment would fit in a smaller trailer my best man started call around to other uhaul locations. In the mean time another associate noticed what was going on and called someone who could find us another trailer. Well he did find a trailer, and I am very thankful, but in order to get the trailer my best man and I ended stealing the trailer from another uhaul location. So the second story is this, the week after my wedding my new wife and I moved to Seattle. This time we rented from a different uhaul store in Bozeman and you can find that review on their page.

My expierence was terrible at this location I feel thoroughly ripped off Ive been here several times and every time I think to my self why on earth do I come back to this place ... I can tell you this much Never will I use their services again in my life ... Im even going to file a formal complaint ...

They seemed understaffed and I waited around 20 minutes for service. Lots of incidental charges, so dont expect to pay close to the price on the side of the van. Otherwise the rental went without issue.

Unloading 7 pallets as a partial & took them 2.5 hrs. scheduled at 9am. driver wasted his hrs & had to wait till next day as didnt make it for the other delivery. Wont go there anymore
