This is a great resource for the greater Bozeman-Yellowstone area. Very well stocked on new and used lenses at competitive prices. Also, RENTALS. For those of you passing through, or maybe filming here for a few weeks you have a great resource here. I would give them 6 stars if possible.

Stopped in today as I needed a lens to replace my broken kit lense on my Nikon 3400. I was looking for a Tamron 18mm to 400mm lense. Unfortunately they do not carry Tamron. I chated with Brian a little, explaining to him, that I was also looking for Sigma 150mm to 600mm for wildlife photography. He showed me a few few different lenses. One of which was a gently used Sigma 150mm to 500mm lense at around 1/2 the price of a new Sigma 150mm to 500mm. I was able to take some test pics as I considered the purchase..I ultimately bought the lense. Trial will tell if I made the right choice in not pursuing the 600mm lense. By purchasing the used lense I have money left for the Tamron 18mm to 400mm or a Sigma 18mm to 300mm. Anyway I left feeling satisfied with the purchase and the customer service from Brian.a

Bozeman Camera is a local treasure. Whether I am looking for a recently released lens for my sony mirrorless or some random vintage accessory for one of my film cameras, they have been able to hook me up. Good selection, great staff.

My husband and I have been renting cameras and yesterday purchased an almost $2k camera he was perfecy fine without a mask. He needed a couple extras for the camera so I went in I have a medical exemption and they denied me service. I will be taking my business elsewhere! Not cool

The only good camera shop in Bozeman. They allow you to rent out equipment (at a decent price) before you decide if you really want to buy an item. They have a fantastic selection of Canon, Nikon, and Sony products. As well as the fact that they sell DJI drones and GoPro products as well. The customer service is phenomenal. I have had all of my needs taken care of professionally and quickly.

Great store, great service. I’ve been in a dozen times at least and they’re always helpful, whoever you deal with. Today, I went in to get advice on neutral density filters, and he told me he could sell me one, but didn’t think I needed it based on my camera and editing software. Will buy more camera equipment from them in the future.

A good selection of new and used lenses and cameras, particularly if you’re looking for a good interchangeable lens system. Knowledgeable staff, decent selection, and friendly service.

Loved this camera shop! I came in with my cousin and sisters a week or so ago and everyone was super helpful. I came in with no intention of buying anything and just talked with the guys who worked there for a while until I was, very easily, sold a new lens. They had an incredible selection. I dont think Ive ever seen a shop with old Pentax film lenses before. I bought one and was given very helpful information about the new lens and an old one I already owned. I wish I lived in Bozeman because I would love to apply to work at this camera shop. great staff and great selection. wish I could say I would return often but I live in Virginia!Thanks again

Just went today to get a quick fix on one of my lenses. It was a quick and easy experience. The staff is phenomenal and super friendly. I cant wait to stop by again here soon, hopefully to buy some near gear instead of a fix! They have a wide variety of gear, everything from camera bodies to lenses, to backpacks and all the stuff in between. Thank you guys!

Great camera shop! I was looking for a new Nikon D850, which is backordered with a multiple month wait at most of the big online retailers. On the recommendation of a friend, I called Bozeman Camera. They were very friendly and helpful and said they would likely have one for me in the near future. Well, a little over a week later they called and told me the camera was in and waiting for me. Fantastic! And the price was entirely competitive with the big online retailers out of New York. It was well worth the 1-1/2 hour drive to Bozeman to buy locally at Bozeman Camera. I highly recommend you check them out.

I had checked some online rental companies but they had high rates, high deposits, and extra fees at every corner. So I looked local and found Bozeman Camera. By far my favorite, local camera shop. Everyone there is super knowledgeable, friendly, and more than happy to share their experiences and recommendations. Rental prices are reasonable and the items are great quality. Ive purchased my most recent camera body and lenses through them, and all are still working perfectly. Ive never had a bad experience here, and the welcoming committee, Sage (aka: the owners dog), is always a highlight of my visits. Youre truly missing out if you arent shopping here!

Great service and friendly atmosphere. I was looking for want turns out is hard to find item. Staff gave me good advice as to where I might find exactly what I was seeking and then asked me to hold while they did a quick search for me. A few minutes later they suggested an item that was in store stock that not only addressed my need but would also give me flexibility to do more. At a very reasonable price too!

We knew before we went to Yellowstone last summer that our photography gear bag didnt have the range to do the place justice, so we contacted the great staff at Bozeman Camera & Repair Inc. before our trip to reserve two lenses. Not a problem. Stopped in to pick up the lenses, they were waiting as promised, and were exactly as advertised, with no fuss, no muss. The guys made sure we knew how to use them and that we felt confident with the various features of each before we left the store. Best little camera shop in Bozeman. They pack some serious hardware and some seriously well trained staff. I exclusively buy my camera items here rather than online (even if it is a few dollars more). Really good selection for modern day DSLRs, but also an extensive film collection as well. Lots of accessories like books, bags, tripods, and lighting as well.One thing I appreciate is being treated like a serious photographer, even when purchasing baseline camera models. If you need a repair or cleaning this is THE PLACE to go. They also have a great selection of both used and new lenses. They are very competitive on price with new lenses and totally worth buying here rather than online.Ive bought several used lenses and new lenses from Bozeman Camera Repair. Ive never had a single issue with a used lens and when Ive wanted to trade up on a lens theyve always given me a great price on my old lens. Ive also rented lenses from them on a few occasions and the rates for rental are very good.The staff is very knowledgable and will help try to find the best camera or lens for your needs and will never try to oversell you.

My experience with Bozeman camera was in a form of mail order. They answered all my questions, provided accurate ordering information and fulfilled the order in a timely fashion. Both the trade-in and new Lumix order was done as they initially promised. They even stepped in to deal with unreasonable brokerage fees that UPS had charged to ship to Canada. Thank you Brian!

I will continue the five star rating.In the relatively small town of Bozeman we are fortunate to have two high quality stores serving professional level photographers and also the general public. This might be due to nationally recognized photographers based here near Yellowstone National Park and in a relatively small town environment with great airline connections. I have dealt with both and both are excellent. Bozeman Camera and Repair seems to have more used equipment at a good price while the other store is the traditional landmark type place for excellent staff and new equipment.This high opinion of both this store and its quasi competitor might have to do the the highly regarded Film and TV department at MSU graduating a batch of well educated students every year.I think the nearest other places offering this level of professional camera expertise would be Seattle, Denver, Minneapolis or Chicago.

Could be one of the last best photographic supply houses in the country. I was shocked at the in stock equipment. They have a huge huge selection of used equipment as well. You would expect to see a store like this in LA or NY, not bozeman. Overly impressed

These guys are the best in town. I had them special order a Nikon telephoto lens for me. Within a couple weeks of purchase it got a piece of dust inside that was causing a nasty dark spot in my pictures. Rather than referring me to Nikon service and leaving me without a lens for several weeks they gave me the same lens from their stock, and sent the defective one back. Above and beyond.

Just stopped in to see if they were interested in an old school Polaroid camera I had. One older gentleman was nice enough to help me. The manager or owner Rick was completely rude to me. I was only asking merely to see what I could get for it and they treated me like I was an idiot.Dog was sweet,Customer service was not.
