Your Emilia phone answering system is terrible. It doesn’t make out sounds well and stops you from going to an operator or a live person. I’m sure you are missing many calls and business due to this phone blocker answering service.

Their Covid precautions put me at ease as soon as I entered. The young man that checked me in was very polite and professional . Dr. Roma was very thorough and took plenty of time to answer my questions and concerns about progressive lenses. Flo was the best to help find the perfect frames. She was not going to let me settle on a less than perfect pair. I never felt rushed. This is my new place to go from here on out!

Branch manager, R—o—chelle, is unprofessional and incapable of doing her job. Optometrist did not write a prescription as promised nor did we receive a prescription as promised. Front desk did not order sample lenses as promised.Called branch multiple times for a follow up on sample lenses and prescription, but they did not pick up the phone. Finally picked up the phone when we called from a different number over a week after the exam. They still refused to provide us with a prescription as the branch manager said the prescription was not finalized.

Worst service Ive received anywhere. GO TO A DIFFERENT LOCATION! They are incredibly unprofessional here. They were running late and who I assume the manager was was helping me out. I was amazed at how rudely he acted. The other employees were kind and professional although incorrect regarding important information theyd given me, such as the costs of the exam. No problem with the insurance, they just didnt mention the additional cost of the getting contacts for the first time, despite me specifically asking.

I have had the worst experience with this location as a potential new customer.. My first appointment was on a Saturday and had to be rescheduled because the day before they did not get verification of insurance. I come in for the rescheduled date today and the doctor leaves as Im there waiting to be checked in by other staff. To think they had the nerve to think i would set yet another appointment. ABSOLUTELY NOT.. Taking my business elsewhere..

Whew! The customer service here is horrible! I was trying to let the older lady know that my lens kept popping out but she was dismissive in what I was telling her and saying they seem fine. Its dangerous to have my glasses lens fall out while driving but she didnt seem to care. Her overall attitude ticked me off and will be the last time I get my glasses at visionworks.

I called and had my prescription transferred from another location after a bad experience there. It was there by the time I got to the store. My technician was wonderful. She was able to get me in and out quickly and she was very professional and helpful. She also got me a price much more reasonable than other location.

Incompetent management. The manager melted my frame using a heater. Never reordered my frame, and after a phone call and a month later, I stopped in and she still hadnt ordered my frame. Now I am told to wait another month. Nope!! Ill never shop at visionworks again.

DO NOT GO HERE!!!!! They are extremely rude!!! I asked VW to mail my order to my home, due to COVD-19 and I have small children. VW texted me to come in and PICK UP my order. I called the store to alert them of the error, and they absolutely did not care, they werent the least bit apologetic. I asked them could they overnight it order and the manager said absolutely not, it will get to you in 4 to 5 days! My husband and I have been customers for years..................... NOT ANYMORE!

Very rude and very bad customer service.I took my son to get new glasses. They intentionally ignored us and they talked to us so rudely. Everyone we ask a question, they seemed so irritated. We will NEVER go back there again. They hired people who don’t want to work there. No wonder their rating is really bad. I wish I could give them 0 stars.

This is the worst place you can go! I recommend you to NEVER go here and to spread the voice and let all your friends and family members with vision needs to stay away from here for their own good. I went to this location exactly 22 days ago and was prescribed new glasses. To this date (8/24) I haven’t been able to get them first because the order took 18 days to be ready and second because even thought I received the message that my lenses were ready, they have no staff to cut the lenses and put them on my frames. Went on Tuesday to pick them up and they stated the technician wasn’t there, tried yesterday again, same story, tried today, same thing again. They don’t care about my health and how much they are inconveniencing me. Today I couldn’t even go to work cause I couldn’t bear the headaches I am getting because I don’t have my glasses. They are very unprofessional and careless. They only care about taking the money from you apparently, for that they were very quick! I am very disappointed and frustrated and will never go back to them. And I’ll make sure as many people as I can know to stay far away from this group of careless and unprofessional people. Trust me when I say you are better off somewhere else.

My 2nd year at Vision Works IN Bowie. My overall experience was great, to include the exam and choosing the perfect pair. Von was extremely patient and ensured I received the best value using my insurance. I ended up getting two pair and Im so glad I came back this year.

Glasses and service are mediocre at best. The best part is usually the doctor... Not a big fan of any VW to be honest but it’s what my insurance accepts. Management here is struggling just like every other branch.. and I would know because I used to work for this company. Sadly Some things never change.

Dr. Isabella Roma was very thorough in my eye exam. I can’t recall anyone ever being so thorough and helpful in my vision needs. Usually it’s just “one or two” but she very receptive of my feedback with tests and continued to find the right prescription for me. I look forward to returning again in a year.

Dr. Roma was great! The eye exam was rather quick yet thorough.The problem comes with the staff at the front. Yvette was rather short with me and the other customers that came in. Nothing about her demeanor was friendly or welcoming. Seeing how rude she was to customers asking simple questions was extremely off-putting.

I’d like to start off by saying that the staff are super friendly.ButWhen I got there for my appointment. They didn’t have it on file. Which was rectified. Cool.Then they said my contacts were on backorder and I would have to wait 5 business days. Cool.I called two weeks later. They were still on “back order”. Cool.Then I called two weeks after that to find that they had indeed been there the entire time. From the day of my appointment. 😒. When I go in to pick them up. The prescription of my contacts were wrong for my right eye (although the prescription on the paper was correct.) so now I’m told I have to wait 2-3 days because they don’t have those in stock. SERIOUSLY.Fast forward 15 days, I call (because no one has called me) and guess what? They’ve been there.In conclusion. I will NEVER use Visionworks again.

When I called to schedule an exam they told me that they didn’t know how much my co pay would be when I provided them with my insurance. Then after the exam (the doctor was great) I had to wait almost an hour to be seen to close out the bill. When I said I just wanted to leave without buying because it was taking too long, a lady told that I would have to pay for the exam and the trial contact lens unless I bought contacts through them. I just find it ironic that they didn’t know how much anything would cost before I arrived but had all the answers after the exam. Never again will I come here for an exam.

I was at this location because I needed my glasses adjusted. I was greeted by Andy at the front desk who also assisted me with my adjustment. He was very nice and professional. I had an excellent experience and I did not have to wait long compared to some of the other locations.

I was dreading having to go into Visionworks to get my frames replaced. I thought I was going to have to fill out paperwork, and have to wait 5 days for the frames to arrive. However, I was pleasantly surprised on May 10 when I walked in and was immediately greeted by multiple employees. The young lady looked up my information, and saw that I had a warranty. My frames were in stock, and I was out of the door within 5 minutes! Kudos to the Visionworks team in Bowie!

The exam and buying experience was good but the coming back and needing assistance part has been horrible. A screw fell out of my glasses all I needed was them to put it back in for me because it’s so small I couldn’t do it myself. Well after Andy(I believe that’s his name) tries for 30 mins to put the screw back in while huffing and puffing he can’t accomplish it either and says he has to order a new screw for me they don’t have the one i need there, Ok whatever! So I give him my name and number and tell him to call me when the screw comes in. A week later no call so i stop by and ask if the screw came in and he said no he hasn’t ordered it he doesn’t know how to order it says he needs to talk to so and so and try to order it. He then tells me to just go to Lens Crafter down the street and they can fix it for me. Thank for the help Andy! (Sarcasm) I will definitely be going somewhere else if you guys can’t handle putting a simple screw in eye glasses.

My husband and I went to this Visionworks to have our eyes tested and were both prescribed new glasses (we both do heavy computer based work, so I wasnt surprised at that). We spent almost $1000 for our frames, lenses etc. and when we finally got our glasses, the lenses just did not work for either of us - they were so uncomfortable to use and we both just stopped using our glasses. We waited too long to return them to Visionworks (they have a 30 day guarantee), so we could not identify what the issue was (they claimed when we called that we just needed to get used to the glasses since they were new to us both) but we recently went to a new eye doctor and lo and behold, the prescriptions that were prescribed to us were BOTH TOO STRONG! We had them changed but had to pay for a service, that in my opinion should have been provided from the getgo. I will never patronize a business that errs in the most basic element of the service they provide - and now that we have found a facility with a competent ophthalmologist, we will be sticking to it. That aside, the staff was great, but we still ended up about $400 in the hole (we used our old frames for the new lenses since they were virtually unused)...

Had my eyes examined there because of proximity to home. Optometrist was courteous and professional but the staff will cause this store to close because they are clueless and rude. Drinking fluids while talking, calling several times because of failure to document insurance information handed upfront. It has been 2 mths since my exam, I couldn’t get my Rx filled there, I returned to the Bethesda location.

I made an appointment for today at 3 pm a week in advance. The store is located in a town center. However when I showed up the town center had a HUGE block party ( which the receptionist did not tell me was happening) so parking was impossible. On top of that they closed all of the major streets including the street that leads to vision works. After driving around for 30 MINUTES looking for parking 1.4 miles away I had to then walk and try to navigate my way to find the store. This made me 30 mins late for my appointment. When I finally made it to the office both the receptionist and doctor told me I had to reschedule because they had a 3:30 and closed at 5pm (as if they would actually need the entire 1 1/2 hrs) I was so disappointed especially since they knew this event was going on a did not let me know ahead of time. All I wanted was to buy a new pair of frames smh. I should have read the review ahead of time. Don’t waste your tine here with people who don’t care. I only gave them 1 star because 0 was not an option.

I came in to return a pack of lenses wipes that I purchased by mistake and the customer service woman at the front desk wanted me to wait until she finished completing a client intake she hadnt even started yet before she serv in did me. So Im supposed to wait how long to get a refund on $5?The customer service at the Bowie location sucks. Side conversations take precedence over customers and getting up out thier seat to help you is too much of a task to do. I will be looking for another location even though this location is across the street from my home. I will not back....sad!!!

Went in for contacts - Overall, optometrist didnt listen to my concerns, one staff member tricked me into doing something I was uncomfortable with, but the receptionist was really helpful, patient, and honest.I visited in May of this year because the place was conveniently located to my house. Whenever I visit an eye doctor, I get nervous when they blow a puff of air in my eye for the exam, so I warned the examiner. He said ok, I wont and waited for me to relax then did it and made a sarcastic comment. I was already uncomfortable by the time the optometrist came to see me. He was friendly enough, but when I finally received my contacts, I noticed something was wrong. My eyes were in pain and I began to form a headache sitting in the chair. I informed him and he told me that I should just test them out despite my concern. I told the receptionist and she was kind enough to tell me to throw them out. I left and found another place that was absolutely perfect for me.

I cant believe this place is still in business if my issues are any indication. There are 3 Eye Care stores in Bowie Town Center, 4 if you count Sears...Now I understand why Visionworks was the only one I was able to get a same day appointment. I had my appointment and first I found the staff to be unresponsive, unprofessional and not very knowledgeable about anything. The optometrist I first saw was really good...the only positive. However, I had to return to the store a week later because I lost the temporary lense. The second optometrist had no clue what the prescription was and didnt understand what the initial optometrist prescribed, but provided me a contact that he thought was prescribed. He called me 5 minutes later and told me he finally figured out what was prescribed and told me to come back and get the correct lense. I never received a phone call or a text that my contact lenses came in. After calling 3 different times I was told they were there. When I went to pick them up, it took over 30 minutes to get them, there were no instructions/ fittings, they didnt tell me these were the test ones and not the actual order and when I questioned where my 90 day supply was, the staff had no idea. I had to wait until the following week to talk to the manager to get answers. Then I went back to tell them I needed a slightly stronger prescription. Another optometrist (3rd one) was on site. He did not check my eyes simply put in a new prescription. that was over 2 weeks ago and my new contacts still have not come in. I stopped by over the weekend because after calling I was told they were in. The young lady couldnt find them. She opened the drawers and started literally throwing contacts around in the drawer looking for them. Then stated Well, I cant find them, you have to wait to talk to someone else. After another 35 - 40 minutes they looked in the log book and I could tell by the discussions that something was not right...no contacts, nobody knew anything, told to wait and call manager on Monday. I asked before I left if they were ever ordered? Yes, of course, I was told. They also placed a note in the box for manager to contact me. That never occurred so I called...guess what? Contacts were never ordered. Are you freakin kidding me? Of course it wasnt the stores fault, theyve had problems with this company before. Of course you have. I have already paid for my 90 day supply and hopefully I will get them at some point...will probably have to pay additional money because I ordered a different type; but, if I could get my money back and go some where else Id be out of the door. Once I receive my order I will never go back to Visionworks. If I could give minus stars, I would give -10 stars. This staff needs some serious customer service training. Fortunately there are several other places I can give my service that provides a professional staff!!

Set up an appointment on the 29 th or the 1st for the 5th of March. Got there 10 till my appointment and at 15 after was told they had not gotten authorization from my insurance because the system was down on Friday but failed to inform me before I wasted my time to drive over and wait!!!! This place sucks and I will never return!!! So think of the money you just lost forever!!!!! However you did do a favor for a competing business!!!! Thanks for nothing!!!

Poor Customer Service experience: I called to inquire about my contact lens order which had been changed because the Optometrist changed my prescription for one lens. The new lens caused blurred vision, thus the prescription was changed back. When I attempted to explain this to the clerk who answered the phone, she was very rude and would not allow me to speak. She subsequently hung up on me. When I called back, her coworker asked me to spell my last name 3 times while giggling in the background. There are many excellent Optometrists in the DMV and Vision Works of Bowie is NOT one of them. I will not patronize that establishment again. Substandard service, discourteous and unprofessional behavior.

I was told that it was a BOGO on glasses, which turned out to be false. When the glasses came, vision was blurred in both pair. They promised to fix it. The second time, vision was still blurred in one pair. Again they took them back. After three weeks I had to call them to inquire about my glasses. These people are incompetent.

This is simply the worst experience I had buying glasses in the last 15 years. Do yourself a favor and walk across the street to Lens Crafters.I ordered frames and lenses and was told that they would be ready in 1 week. Needless to say that 3 weeks later im still waiting. Worst is that, whenever I call to inquire about the status of my order I am given the runaround and no straight answer, all this with attitude. Good luck talking to a manager since they just will tell you that hell call you back in 30 minutes... which never happens.This is a company/branch that obviously does not care about the inconvenience they are causing their customers, so dont encourage that behavior by shopping there. Their competitor, Lens Crafters, is in the same shopping plaza.
