I am a senior mechanical engineer and have worked with John for 11 years in a professional setting. Over the years I have worked with a great many machine shops and feel qualified to make a determination on who really gets the job done. Tempest machine caters to businesses that need low volume, high precision parts.In my 35 years doing this I have met the best and the worst. John is in the top 5% easily. He does not have some of the sophisticated 5-axis CNC equipment so he has some limitations on higher volume production. But he is also nowhere NEAR the price of the shops that have that equipment.During the last 5 years of my career John machined most of my parts, and there were many in the 3D cinema optics business, with no problems. These were very detailed, precision parts that go into optical assemblies. He sticks to his quotes and time promises. About as reliable as a fine watch and just as accurate.I dont know much about John personally but I do find him to be very personable and easy to deal with. If he figures he cant make a part he will let you know without wasting your time, just like a pro should.Hey John, I have this old bumper I need modified.......

I Showed up with a drawing and design for a small engine mount on a 125cc pit bike. Essentially all I needed was 2 holes drilled and an edge squared up. Something that could be done well enough with hand tools in a small workshop, but I live in an apartment and do not have the tools on hand. Long story short, he was rude, unprofessional, and wouldnt even take a look at the drawings, all because of his refusal to work with steel. In addition, his website is incredibly misleading.. would not recommend
