This was our the first time to Altitude Optometry as we are new to Boulder, and the staff and eye doctors gave extra care and attention to my two young sons who had not been in for an appointment in several years. Even though it was busy in the office that day, the doctor took the time to thoroughly go over each of their unique vision needs. We will definitely return to this location!

Was not expecting to be ambushed by mandatory extra $39 fee on top of copay for a specific test that I had to take because of covid protocol. Should have been more up front with it on registration.

The doctor and her staff were great! Very friendly and gentle w the machines that take images via bright blue and green lights. Amazing how you can see the backside of your eyeball. Altitude Optometry in Boulder, Colorado has been my place of vision for years for one reason: Customer Service and accurate vision. Altitude Optometry is located in the back of LensCrafters and they work in tandem until you have the glasses you hoped for.Apparently, putting a prescription lens in a wrap-around cycling glass is difficult for many reasons. The teamwork between Altitude Optometry (Thanks, Dr. Fluss!) and LensCrafters (Thanks, Mike!) was a score!Plus, the eye check equipment Altitude Optometry uses is high-tech and convenient.I would recommend Altitude Optometry and LensCrafters for your next pair ofcycling glasses!

Staff was personable, got to use OCT 3D retina scan for the first time, and Dr. Fluss explained all of my results very clearly and dialed in my new prescription painlessly. Overall experience was fast friendly and informative

Dr. Mortensen and Emma were amazing. They took the time to evaluate my kids, 12 and 16, and both were able to leave wearing new contacts!

My wife had some detergent splash into her eye. After flushing it all evening, it was still very irritated the next morning. We called Altitude Optometry, whom wed never been to before, and they made time for her to come in right away on literally zero notice. They gave her a thorough exam, flushed her eye out more while showing her the most effective method, and then gave her a prescription for eye drops to soothe the irritation. At no point did they try to make our emergency an upcharge or sales opportunity. Great people who gave us genuine care and great service.

So the doctor was very nice but without telling me they sent me home with the wrong prescription trial contact lenses. When I called back the person who answered the phone said they have me then because they were out of the right prescription. What is the point of a trial lense in the wrong prescription? Why wouldnt they tell me that they werent the right ones. Idk that was strange and Ive never heard of a doctor sending you home with the wrong prescription on purpose. Seems sketchy.

As a first-time patient, I felt at ease with the welcoming presence of the receptionist. I felt comfortable and confident with both the young lady who took me through the pre-exam testing and with the doctor during the exam. Im very much satisfied with my experience.

Technician clearly didnt know what she was doing.The doctor didnt seem to know how to set the machine, told me I had 20-20 vision, and did not mention any concerns that have been expressed in my last 3 years of exams.Desk person claimed that my insurance would not pay for the testing or exam or contact fitting when the same insurance has been billed, and paid for the last 5 years. I specially asked before making an appointment if my insurance would be billed and was told yes- no conditions. Being stuck with a $144 bill was a total surprise.I will be writing a writing on all social media platforms and will never return to your office.Thank you.

I have been going to Altitude Optometry for a number of years and been very happy with them. I recently had a sudden change in my vision in one eye. I booked an online appointment for the coming Saturday. Their equipment is state of the art and showed an issue that had developed in my retina.After my appointment Dr Fluss took the time to call a specialist to get a diagnosis with the information he had and called me back right away. I really appreciated his follow up and professionalism. I have an appointment to see the specialist next week.Great people!

This was my first visit, and it was wonderful!

During the Covid lockdown I ran out of contacts.. I contacted Altitude/Lenscrafters multiple times to get a couple extra lenses to get me through until I felt safe getting a new eye exam. I was told multiple times that they would get in touch with the doctor and get back to me. They completely ignored me, and I am still without contacts. They do not care that I cannot see. Terrible way to treat a patient during this stressful time.

I had a wonderful experience with Dr. Mortenson. The exam was very thorough, and she answered all of my questions and concerns. I thought the staff was very helpful and friendly. The optical staff was really helpful and patient. I probably tried on every pair of glasses in the store. They had a great selection, but too many to choose. He helped me pick out the best pair for me.

Dr. Mortenson has gone above and beyond what the usual doctor would do. She felt that I needed a specialized service, and provided referrals and consulted with her colleagues about my case. She did not take “no” for an answer, and persisted until I was seen by a specialist. I have seen eye doctors all my life, and I won’t go anywhere else as I can’t imagine a more caring and competent doctor. Thank you!
