Absolutely the best sandwich shop Ive been to in a long time. Little hole in the wall at the end of an alley, best bread, authentic meats and they sell pasta and oils for cooking. 100% recommend, these guys are the real deal!!

A beautiful shop that feels like hidden treasure, filled to the brim with delicious Italian treats and tradition, with freshly made pasta, preserves and pickles and incredible cured meats. The sandwiches are a joy, with excellent Italian bread right from the adjacent bakery (worth a visit), with the staple Italian (Mortadella, Genoa Salami, Sopressata, Provolone, Lettuce, Tomato, Onion, Hot Peppers, Olive Oil, Vinegar, and Oregano. Mamma mia!) leading the charge next to the subtle but powerful Panino (Prosciutto, Fresh Mozzarella, Tomato, Basil, and Olive Oil.) being easily accesible, with tons of fresh and expertly cut options to discover alongside the friendly and clearly local staff. In pandemic times. we picked up our sandwiches (as well as a plate of meatballs, yum!) and drove off for a picnic in the Esplanade, perfect for the improving weather!

Clearly my new favorite—cool and interesting little hideaway with a great staff. Clean quick and efficient with the highest quality meats and breads. The Italian sub stood out as the winner in a taste test —despite being very sparse on the meat—order double meat it’s worth it. Highly recommend this place.

I had high hopes for the Italian sub, however, it fell short due to the minimal about of deli meat. It was mostly lettuce which was an absolute bummer as the bread, cheese and meat tasted amazing. Willing to give it another try although this time I wont get anything with deli meat.

One of my favorite places in the North End. Tucked down a small alley, this place and the bakery next door will give you genuine Italy vibes. Sandwiches are delicious and huge for the price - my favorites are the Italian and Chicken Parm. Lots of cold cuts, fresh pasta, and other goodies as well.

Well worth turning off the busy Hanover St. sidewalk in Bostons North End and heading down the narrow, clean alley. We took an out of town friend and got chicken parm, caprese, and Italian cold cut sandwiches with three Pellegrinos for, I think, $41 (plus a healthy tip, because the service was quick and efficient). We took it all out to a table on the Greenway and watched the world go by. Delicious real Italian subs. I was in Mortadella heaven!

If you find yourself in Boston’s North End and are not looking to spends hundreds of dollars on a dinner. Stop by here, order a Panino Lady to go and walk down to the waterfront of the Boaton Market and enjoy one of the best kept secrets in Boston. The DePasquale family run an amazing business.

The Salumeria at the end of this tiny alley takes the bread that they bake at the Paneteria along with fresh Italian cold cuts and ingredients, and puts it together in a sandwich that really validates the Best Sandwiches in the North End sign that hangs outside the alley. Everything tastes amazing and the bread is just perfect. This is one of my favorite spots in the city because of just how good and inexpensive it is.

Couldve gotten more at subway. Totally not worth the money for a slice of meat and cheese on a really large roll. I now get the Family Guy joke about the bread sandwich. Also wanted to mention that they wanted to charge 2 dollars to swap hot peppers for roasted reds. If this is the norm, I am completely blown away by this highway robbery. So disappointed here.

My wife and I went there to get a couple of sandwhiches based on the phenomenal reviews. Its a nice little place tucked at the end of a narrow alley. When you enter there are assorted homemade pasta (for you to cook yourself) a catering menu and the sandwhich menu. The sandwhich menu is pretty simple, about 6 or 8 varieties. My wife ordered the meatball parm and I have the panino ( prosciutto, mozzarella, basil, tomato and olive oil). The prices are extremely reasonable at 8.50 for a full sized meal of a sandwhich. Most importantly they were arguably the best sandwhiches we had ever tasted. Both were absolutely phenomenal, though very different. The panino was light, not guilt inducing, and served cold - perfect for warm weather. The meatball parm, by contrast was a monster of a sandwhich, thick, filling and delicious. Like I said both were excellent. You wont find a better sandwhich place in the north end or even the entirety of Boston.
