Always a great experience. The owner Julio is amiable and very knowledgeable. He goes above and beyond for his customers. Were incredibly fortunate to have such a wonderful shop in the neighborhood!

Solid shop if you dont have a car and cant/dont want to order online. They have a good selection and some of the prices are pretty good like their Philo Micans, but for the most part the prices are astronomical, like 2-3x more than you typically see. I understand they are paying higher rent, but I found a 3 planter for $28 that you can find all over Amazon in 6-packs for $12. Apparently they come with a free succulent, so theres that I guess.

Only positive experiences at this shop. The owner is passionate about plants and will chat about them and their care for as long as you want. Impressive selection of succulents and exotic plants.

You can tell these folks love all things plants. They are super friendly and professional. The store itself is beautiful and inviting. I will be back!

What a wonderful surprise to find this place! I would have travelled much greater distances. The plants themselves are beautiful with many options, but even better was the owner’s knowledge and care in helping me find the right plants for my apartment, taking into account aesthetic, care routine, and my preferences. Furthermore, he delivered the plants next day. I will most definitely be back!

Micro Plant Studio is our favorite place to purchase pots and plants. I always have a pleasant experience when I stop by, plants are healthy and happy, the owner is kind, knowledgeable, and goes above and beyond to ensure your satisfaction with your purchase. This is my go to place when I am gifting as well. We have several plants from here in our apartment, they are still thriving months later thanks for the guidance we have received from Julio. Really an amazing business that we are lucky to have right here in Southie!

What an adorable shop! I walked in hoping to find small succulents for an “up-cycle” project, and walked out with the cutest plants for our yogurt jars! The store is very clean, and although small, it houses a ton of beautiful plants and pots. I didn’t expect the shop owner to be so knowledgeable, but Julio clearly has a passion for plants and was a patient and fun teacher. I now feel confident that my not-so-green-thumb will be able nurture and grow the miniature succulents I purchased. Highly recommended, and will stop by again soon!

Expensive plants and poor customer service. I love supporting my small local businesses BUT you cant explain away that a simple hanging rik rac cactus was exactly 130$, no exaggeration. I let the owner know he should check on the plants, as they were dying and left, it was upsetting to leave with no plants after my long commute. Go to Mahoneys, Lyman Estate, Brattle st Florist, Rickys Flower Market as they all have healthy inexpensive indoor and outdoor plants!

Picked up some beautiful rare houseplants here tonight ☺ amazing customer service and the shop owner was so fun and bubbly and friendly. I am an avid house plant hobbyist and all the plants were super healthy. He is very knowledgeable about all plant needs and care instructions and VERY transparent and anyone who says otherwise must not have been listening. I will absolutely come back again! It is like heaven in there!

TLDR; business owner is unaccommodating; take your business elsewhere.Called to ask if they would pot plants in some new hanging planters I was gifted. The owner picked up the phone. Was clearly distracted and asked me to say everything I said twice. Then told me he wouldn’t have time to do the potting until tomorrow. No problem I thought. Then I asked if he sold water plants and his response was not yet. I asked if he knew any place I could get them and he told me no, he was the only place that has them. Highly doubt that I thought. I’m sure a google search would have been more helpful. That was the first warning at how unwilling to be helpful this business owner is. But then the last straw was when I showed up on my portable scooter after driving to him for 15 minutes to drop off the planters and he told me I couldn’t come in the store with it. Didn’t even offer to come outside and get my planters or ask me what I needed. Just gave me the option to leave. Refuse to do business with someone who treats customers like this. Left disappointed and surprised.Response to the owners response: You could have at least offered to meet me outside or asked what I needed before giving me the ONLY option of just leaving. But sure, continue to take zero responsibility for your bad service.

I suggested this place to my Mom and Aunt and they said that everything in here is adorable. Thanks for giving them a splendid experience.

Love this shop Julio is great

A few weeks ago I had the pleasure of going to Micro Plant Studio. I was looking for a fig tree as well as some house plants. Prior to arriving I called the shop and told the owner what I was looking for. Not only did he send me pictures of some selected items in advance of my visit---he also had some ready for me to review once I arrived. What is more special is that when I shared with Julio pictures of my space and where I was planning on placing the fig tree, he actually recommened that I not get it. The tree would be next to the radiator (the only place in the space where I could house it). This type of heat would certaintly have a negative impact on the plant but honestly I had not thought it, neither had the designer who suggested I put it there. I share this because not only did Julio provide with me extensive knowledge on how to take care of my new plants, he also saved me more than 100 dollars. In this kind and selfless gesture he showed me that his business is one that is grounded in integrity. Thank you, and by the way, the plants are doing amazing well!

In the time of this pandemic, I was looking to support a small business owned nursery. I’ve frequented the South Boston block of other small businesses & always wanted to stop in Micro but never found the time until yesterday! I was so impressed with the cleanliness of the shop, very wide variety of plants to choose from and how knowledgeable the owner was! I purchased a Pothos plant aka Devils Ivy. The fullness and length of the branches I fell in love immediately. I could tell the plant was very well maintained and cared for.After posting on my social media a short story video of the esthetics of Micro, so many people messaged me asking the location. Everyone was impressed by the short 30 second video. I will definitely be purchasing more plants in the very near future. So glad I finally shopped inside this gem!

I had such a wonderful experience here! My friends and I were just walking by when we discovered this place and decided to go in for a bit. Was so impressed and amazed by the selection of houseplants and succulents. Julio was amazing, super friendly and answered all of my question about the care / latin names of each plant. Definitely going back when back in Boston again.
