Ryan our service rep at the Russell Cellular Verizon Authorized Retailer in Boone NC embodied every aspect of how to take care of customers. From our initial interest in upgrading our five year old phones, to placing the order, keeping up apprised of the eta and the all aspects of the setup, transfer, trade in and purchase of the phones was seamless. The whole time Ryan was kind, courteous, knowledgeable, resourceful and took the time to educate us on all things IPhone 13. It is a little bit of a trip up the mountain but the Russell Cellular team and especially Ryan helped reinforce that customer service lives strong in Boone. Thank you Ryan for all your help!

About a year ago I experienced exceptional customer service from manager Seth at Russell Cellular/Verizon. So good that a year later I came back to this store specifically to work with Seth. Today I opened new business accounts with multiple lines and devices. Seth exceeded my expectations again by providing THE ABSOLUTE BEST customer experience. He went far above and beyond my expectations. Especially considering how challenging it is to execute with call centers! Seth jumped through many hoops to get the job done. His teammate Ryan helped out and did an awesome job handling the other customer interactions. I was so impressed with both their patience and integrity as they worked with me and others. Huge thanks to these guys for making a daunting task quite pleasant. I’ll be back!!!

I was out of town recently with a phone crisis and called for Seth, but met with Connor. He helped me navigate through it, and when I returned to Boone, did a great job helping me problem solve. We went to the big Verizon store in town, and although there were only 2 cars in the parking lot, the manager at the door said we should come back in an hour and a half. Since we live 30 minutes away, and had no other business in town, we were very disappointed.Then we remembered that small Verizon store.We stopped in and were met warmly with smiles. Seth helped us choose and set up a new phone. We were home by the time the other store told us to come back.We have a new go to Verizon store in Boone. Thank you Seth!

We wanted a new phone and went to the big Verizon store here in Boone NC and were told it would be an hour and a half before anyone could help us. There were two people in the store. So we found a smaller version store that I didnt know was here. Turns out that they are the original one! The staff were friendly and helpful and we were in and out in under an hour. My son and I went to the store to switch our family plan from ATT to Verizon. Unfortunately ATT was not willing to unlock one of our phones despite being fully paid off. It took so long and many attempts. The people at Russell were patient and did several different things to help us out. They called ATT on our behalves but no luck. At the end they provided a solution that resolved the issue as we needed the phone for remote job. Great, caring and helpful crew. Thanks

Seth Boggs set the standard for customer service. He resolved an incorrect email to my business account, reset my PASSWORD, removed 3 numbers that were being charged on my business plan...and did it using my broken phone(no response when touching screen)! I have emailed Verizon and visited stores for 15 years in an attempt to resolve above stated problems, besides the broken phone issue.

Sold me a phone 8 weeks ago that is NOT compatible to service in our area. Cant make a call off any of the towers. My old phone worked great, but I shattered the screen. After many hours calling Verizon and visits another new phone $600 and still doesnt work. Called the Russell Verizon Guy and he said sorry maam, I said what? He said what else should I call you?

Everyone at Russell Cellular is helpful and friendly and makes it as simple as possible to take care of what you need. My husband and I went to this location in hopes of buying a brand new iPhone SE. We are long term Verizon customers, and we have never had any issues purchasing items outright. We had a rather aloof sales rep who barely made eye contact and was incapable of answering our questions. Im not sure if she was new to the role, very young/immature, or just very slow. She never offered to consult with another staff member or manager who would potentially know the answers to our questions (or at least understand what we were asking). In fact, she barely offered much at all.After tiring of having our time wasted, I decided we would try a different Verizon provider in town. We ended up calling the other Russell Cellular location on 421 Hwy, and we were able to make our phone purchase there with zero issues. The sales reps we worked with at the 421 store were considerably more engaging and knowledgeable than the young girl who was posted at the front at this Wilson Drive location. We will never use this particular Russell Cellular again, but we will undoubtedly purchase future phones and phone accessories from the other location.

I have been to the store 3 times. Each time I have waited as much as 40 minutes or more and not been acknowledged or greeted in any way by any staff during that time period. I finally left each time without having the work done and went to a wonderful Verizon store in Deep Gap.

EDIT: after 8 months, I got everything straightened out. Corporate was the screw up and these guys did everything they could to assist me. Be careful with trade in promotions.I have spent 5 months dealing with a promotional trade in deal that this store told me I was eligible for when I apparently was not. The entire stores staff swore up and down I was good. Nope. Now 5 months of screws ups and constant phone calls and I am still dealing with.

Drive as far away as you need to to get to any other Verizon affiliate. They have no customers and those who do come in are treated like a nuisance. 0 stars is for some reason not possible to give but thats what it should get.

The people were very nice and helpful. However, I was told I would pay $120 a month for two cell phones.One month later, Verizon charged me $260. One of the phones was insured for $12, both were on a higher super duper plan for $85 each, and I was charged $30 a piece for activation fees.Im sure this is all very good and legal, but I was told $120. I was told two cell phones would cost $120. And they didnt.Customer service said they were sorry for the miscommunication. But there was no miscommunication. I was told two cell phones cost $120 a month. I didnt know how much phone insurance cost because I was not sold phone insurance. Nor did I know how much activation cost because I was not sold activation.After hours with verizon customer service, after changing my plan, removing the insurance, I have been assured my next bill will be $120 a month. But why did I have that number in my head, unless that was the number I was quoted for the service described? Did I black out in the store while he asked Are you sure you dont want insurance on one of the two phones, and slightly faster internet for $182, and also theres an activation fee for both phones and it costs $30 dollars? I dont think I did. And even if I did, and then somehow spaz out a bit to make it look like I nodded my head, and then wake up with no recollection of the events... even if... WHY WOULD I ONLY INSURE ONE OF THE TWO USED CELL PHONES?Im sure the people at this store were very nice. Im sure they have hopes and dreams, and one of them probably loves to cook noodles or something. But I was told $120, and my bill was $280. Maybe it was the store. Maybe it was verizon, sneakily pretending like they misheard the type of plan I wanted. Also they misheard I want one of my two phones insured. Only one. Not both.But I am very upset. Because I agreed to a thing, and was forced to change my part of the agreement after the fact by a billion dollar company holding my credit score as hostage. And Ive decided to channel my anger into crappy boring run on google reviews.

What could have been a disaster and ruined my entire honeymoon was averted due to Frankie at this location. On the very first day of my honeymoon I managed to destroy my phone. Frankie not only handled the mess by working his way through the automated system for me, but he also was a master of multi-tasking as he was handling another persons crisis by phone at the same time, helping them avert their own crisis as well. Such a relief to know that a new phone would be waiting for me as soon as I returned home. We got in last night and sure thing it was on my porch - all I had to do was switch out the battery and SIMS card and Im good to go again! Cant thank you enough Frankie, you really did save the day! If I wasnt a Verizon customer already, your mad phone skills and amazing customer service would have switched me over for sure. Hope everyone in Boone is finding their way to you!!
