Daryl and Ellen the owners are some of the finest people I know Ive been buying boots from them since 1987 Ive probably bought six or eight pairs myself if not more and every girl in the family has a pair from here too and so does my son not only if we give him his gifts and to extended family members the best boots you could ever hope for or at this place and apparel too but mainly boots for any budget and any price range and any style any type leather or skin and dressy for work you name it
My absolute favorite in Boone! I have boots, furs, shirts and tiaras I bought there over the last 19 years. Imagine olivanders wand shop from Harry Potter but it’s western wear.

Great local owned place. We got there just before closing, yet they were kind enough to stay open and allow us to look, try on boots and make our purchase. We ended up with quite the haul. If youre looking for great people that sell quality western items, this is the place.
Very friendly and helpful staff. They are some of the nicest folks we have met in Boone. They have a great selection so be prepared to spend a little time walking through. They also have a little horse tack for sale here and there. So wonderful to see folks like them still around. Would be happy to return should we wonder away from Alabama again.

My family and I went to Boone for the afternoon yesterday just to stroll the shops on King Street. After having hit or miss luck with the shops (lines waiting to go in, rude associates, etc) we were about to chalk it up to a loss and were walking back to our vehicle. We were about to pass Watsonatta Western World when we decided to take a look. Weve always enjoyed walking through and smelling the leather smell- not to mention checking out all of the amazing boots. I was browsing through the jeans when Jamie walked up and asked if I needed help. I told her I did, and she spent the next 45 minutes to an hour helping me find the right jeans, a pair of boots for my son, and a jacket for my daughter. Mind you, they had closed for the evening but Jamie didnt skip a beat. We had no idea until we went up to the front to pay! Jamie was fantastic- extremely personable and knowledgeable. If you need a pair of jeans that actually fit (not skinny jeans) or boots, or a hat, or anything else western wear-wise, stop. Dont pass Go. Dont collect $200. (Sorry for the monopoly reference.) Go straight to Watsonatta and ask for Jamie. You wont be sorry. We live about two hours from Boone. Watsonatta is the ONLY reason Ill be returning to Boone.

My Husband was looking for some boots for me and found this place online since we didn’t live far we decided we would pay them a visit. We went in and Wow the selection of Boots was Amazing! I knew what I had in mind so I showed the sweet girl that was helping us. She brought a similar boot in my size and they were perfect actually better than what I had in mind. Then I went to pay for them and they mentioned I could get a shirt for 25% off with the purchase of boots. Win Win! I was really impressed with how helpful and nice everyone was and the selection. Have a very good stock of western wear but the prices are very high. The store was so overstocked that it was hard to navigate through the isles; especially with the covid 19 pandemic going on, They just need to break down and move to a larger location

Great Western Apparal Store. Hats, boots,belts, shirts you name it and its Western- they probably have it. I have bought boots and hats from here and they last for years.You can even buy a saddle for your horse, if you need one 😄If in Boone North Carolina make a visit here. Found the store on google when we were in town for a wedding. My wife and I went in to look for a pair of boots for me to wear to the event. Very friendly folks up front and Jamie was fantastic with her information and helped me find just the right pair. By the way, the John Wayne socks are the most comfortable ever. We both love them. Went in looking for a pair of boots and found them fast. maybe too fast! Im typically a bargain shopper, but I now know why theres a big sign in the front door saying NO Cameras or phones! Because they are WAY over priced and dont want you searching for the best value. I ended up spending $100 more than I couldve paid elsewhere. And thats with the Military discount I asked if they had. The owner is also very rude! The other employees were nice. You cannot return anything. I wouldnt go back. But I do like my new Justin Riding boots.

What a great place to shop! The staff was so helpful in finding me the perfect boots. The even helped my wife find a great fitting pair of boots when she thought shed never find any to fit her.The ladies there spent a long time helping try on various sizes and styles until we got it just right! Next time Im getting a western hat!3/20/21 Came back to buy a hat. Was totally turned off when the guy at the counter embarrassed and insulted my wife if front of all the other customers. She was interested in a hat for a granddaughter and and wanted to send a picture. Didnt see the half hidden sign about no photographs. Instead of politely pointing out the policy, he yelled at her and called her out in front of everyone in the store. Not sure well ever go back after finding other options.

I bought my second pair of Western boots (first really, nice / expensive pair) from Watsonatta. They have the best selection of boots anywhere I have been in NC. They have a great selection of higher end Lucchese boots which is what I ended up purchasing. Im not sure how they do it, but literally all of their Luccheses are $75-100 cheaper than anywhere else you can find them online. Their customer service is top notch. I will continue to support them and buy through them as I build out my boot collection.
I have shopped this store for several years. I have bought several high dollar shirts, a hat, and now 3 pairs of boots. The staff has always been super nice and accommodating. They even helped connect us with a man to re-sole a pair of boots I wore a hole in after wearing for a solid year. Repair was really top notch as well. Fortunately, I have not experienced the owner several have referenced. Minus the older gentleman, it really is a good shop that is in fact packed top to bottom.....which is part of the appeal for me. It’s always a discovery, and the staff know just what to find for you.

Got my first pair of boots here years ago. Went back a few months ago and the ladies were kind of rude. The guy was very friendly. They have a decent selection of boots and leather goods and such.
Owner was not wearing a mask or enforcing employees/customers to wear masks which is very dangerous and inconsiderate especially considering how small of a space it is!

After traveling to Asheville, Concord, Charlotte, hickory, and Lenoir....this place blows every boot store out of the water! Biggest selection of all brands even custom hand made boots and my tin hauls where $30 less than anywhere including online! The staff here are beyond helpful and as friendly as can be. Spending $300 on boots make me a little picky and the lady helping me was patient and understanding and never pushy like other stores. I will never shop anywhere else for boots!

This is a MUST VISIT store if you love anything western! The staff are friendly and helpful, especially Ellen! They stand behind their merchandise, and they carry all the top brands.
Good prices on boots and belts, they also have clothes but the boots and belts is what takes me there. They have very expensive boot and everyday price boots ,its up to you and your style on which ones you end up with. The shop stays very busy. Some stop by just too walk through for the huge selection.
God forbid you go into have a look. The older clerks rude attitude clicks with every 1 star review here. This store is located on a very busy strip. It may be news to you but some people may want to have a look around that are just starting to consider boots.
Im just going to say that I didnt even purchase anything from this store and its owners made me and my parents (who were visiting in town) feel victimized. The people who own this place are rude and it surprises me that theyve been in Boone for 40 years. In case some of these reviews dont mention it enough, I have since heard from two friends that they were yelled at as well for asking reasonable questions of the owners.

Great store. I stop every time Im in Boone. Its tight in the store, but adds to the appeal.
We drove 3 hours specifically to visit this store and boot shop as my boyfriend had bought multiple pairs of boots there before and spoke of its tremendous selection. After looking for about an hour and my boyfriend and I trying on one pair of boots each, we were unable to find anything we wanted, save for a pair that I liked that had a defect which made them uncomfortable to wear. As we were leaving the store, an older gentleman (I found out later, the owner, sadly) asked us if we found any boots. I replied, “Not this time!” and smiled warmly. This gentlemen then proceeded to tell my boyfriend and I not to return to his store if all we were going to do was look around for an hour and waste his employee’s time and not buy anything from them. I have NEVER been treated so rudely in my entire life. I will most definitely be making sure everyone I know is warned not to give patronage to this establishment.
The older gentleman with the beard (who is also the store owner) is extremely rude. He snarled at multiple customers and was just downright ugly. I was planning on getting a lot of stuff in there but left empty handed because I was so put off by how rude the owner was.
I bought a couple belts there but theres hardly any room to walk around and to really look at things. The staff wasnt very helpful but the owner was very helpful.
Dont go to this store!! My husband and I drove almost 2 hours from out of state to buy me some boots at this store I found online. I hadnt been out of the house since my Mom had died unexpectedly a couple of weeks before. This was a therapeutic trip for me. They had some lovely boots and tried to be helpful but they were very busy! You were left sitting for long periods of time waiting for them to bring you and several other people boots. I ended up being in there for at least two hours and wasnt able to find anything that fit right that I liked. One of the ladies told me to check back and I said I would. As we approached the front door/register area, a man, (owner) came out from behind the register and askedYou arent going to buy anything after wasting all our time?! He yelled it, so everyone turned to stare. I politely told him that I wasnt able to find anything this time. My husband opened the door and started through with me right behind him. The man said Dont ever come back! He then shoved me and locked the door behind us so my husband couldnt come back in and confront him for shoving me. We stood outside the door in disbelief! We even thought about calling the cops but decided it wasnt worth it. I had come here to buy boots to cheer myself up after losing my Mom! I am a very quiet person, a stay at home Mom, who generally tries to find the good in everyone I meet. I was contacted by one of the ladies after sending an email. They said please dont hold this against us. He does things like this because his daughter was murdered years ago and he never got over it. I initially didnt write a review because I felt sorry for him but it seems this is a habit for him that his family and other locals make excuses for him. He had no idea what pain I had recently been through nor did he care. He should stay home away from people if he is too full of hate and bitterness to control himself! This was the most terrifying shopping experience Ive ever had! Thank goodness my children werent with me!

We just went in to look around and my son tried on some hats w/ help of one of the ladies working there - owner interrupted her and informed us we were looking at 100 dollar hats and are we really going to spend that much?. Glared at us the whole time from the moment we stepped in the shop - why run a store if you dont want people to look? Do not waste your time here.

The little old man is a piece of trash. He harassed us for looking at items in his store. Ive never been disrespected more by a retailer, than my visit here. I offered to slap the **** out of him, but he was too scared to step outside. Do not visit.

Went in with the intent of purchasing a pair of boots. Took the liberty of taking a box off one of the stacks (there were many, as the store is overstocked and crowed). Got scolded by the owner, who prompty took the box out of my hand and take it to the front desk. He then proceeded to yell at one of the employees to not let the customers remove boots themselves.I walked straight toward the back where my wife was looking at getting a pair herself and told her it was time to go. They lost about a $1000 purchase from us because of his lack of respect for those who keep him in business.

Darrell is rude and cheap. I spent close to two thousand dollars on boots and tack from here and in return I got no respect. I always steer people away because of my last experience and Ill never spend my money there again. Id drive out of state before I ever spent one penny here. I dreamed of working here and in the small amount of time that I did I realized how terrible he is. Small businesses are suppose to be like family with their employees and I know from experience with my familys restaurant and this store was awful to me. PlAin and simple worst place to work and not a good local business to support. If I could give them less that one star I would.
