I am being nice with a 1 star. They need to have a negative star. My father was a loyal customer for many years. Unfortunately he passed away last month. I called to cancel his service in the house and was told how sorry they were for my loss and said that the service was now canceled. 2 days after that I saw where they took $856.61 from his account. When I called they said sorry we should not have done this. We will mail you a check for the full refund. It has been 4 weeks and several calls with nothing. When I called today the person I spoke with told me that I should have never been told I would get a refund because it was a charge for the equipment.. I told them that they can come get the equipment and his response was that it is ADTs policy after 3 day of installation, they no longer want the equipment back. So I was charged for equipment that they dont even want. The account rep that I spoke to last said that he was the last resort and that it was final, and that he understood it was wrong but no refund would be given.NEVER use ADT system. They charged my father for no longer being able to use the service because he DIED. This is the WORST company and customer service I have ever encountered.

ZERO stars is what I want to give. I had an appt for 19 Aug to set up ADT as a new customer. I had to remind the tech to put on his shoe covers and put his mask on. During his time in my home while he was working with the equipment he would stop and watch Price is Right on my TV. He did this the ENTIRE time he was there. He struggled throughout the entire installment and had to call someone to proceed further at different points. The first week of having the system installed, the system went BEZERK and the alarm came on by itself and would NOT cut off!!!. The police was dispatched to my home. The monitoring center called and stated, we are working on your system and will call you back. Today is 21 October and I am STILL WAITING ON THAT CALL. Found out yesterday that the alarm system to include the app was NEVER activated and brought on line as well. I had NO service for the two months they were taking my monthly payments and STILL have no service. I have a two year contract. A new upgrade was offered. I read in fine print I had to sign a 36 month contract. I am military and will not be in the area in 36 months. I was told they can not do a two year contract even though that was my original timeframe. The company did NOT provide the services I signed for and is therefore in a breech of contract!! I would have taken the offer if I could have kept the 2 year agreement. I DO NOT want to be a customer of a company that has flagrant DECEPTIVE PRACTICES and I will terminate the contract, whatever it takes. I have ALL the receipts so there will be NO backpedaling trying to cover up the deception. The entire phone contact was recorded. Of course you can NOT reach the corporate office!! I would NOT recommend ADT to any one and ESPECIALLY OUR MILITARY COMMUNITY. USAA partnered with the WRONG security company!!!!

1 star is too much!!!I had an appointment with a ADT in New Jersey as Have used them in other homes.The time frame was between eight and 12 it is now 2 o’clock and nobody has showed up with NIO Call. Have called them three times with no call back. Received a text that they will be here before 4:OO. Not an acceptable situation.Called their corporate number in Fl and went in circles.

One Star Is Too High of a rating. Phone service is rock bottom. Widespread misinformation. Rampant conflicting information. Extended holds. ADT phone recording repeats ‘We care about your time’. Not true. ADT is woefully ill-prepared to handle calls efficiently. Multiple call transfers. Abrupt call transfers. Deliberate disconnects. Rude personnel. Apparently, no documentation that phone reps can access for consistency and follow-through from one call to the next. No transparency. Monumental disparities in prices quoted. I was told tech would bring hard copy of contract so I could read it (couldn’t read tiny on my phone). Tech didn’t bring it. Tech told me on the way out the door I couldn’t use my app for the service. Price on contract tech signed did not match price from phone rep. No info updated in system.

Do not use ADT. They will not work with you and will attempt to get one over on you every chance they get. We were half way through a 3 year contract when we decided to move 15 minutes down the road to a better place. We were told that they are unable to transfer our service and we would either have to pay 750 dollars or sign a new 3 year contract. ADT is a scam and I will never recommend them to anyone and they will be hearing from the Better Business Buroeau because this has been the worst experience with a business I have ever had.Edit response for owner:That comment proves that you read as well as your customer service is. I did not want to cancel. Just wanted to transfer my service from a rental to a rental home. We were offered this device for rental homes when we moved here but were not offered it at our last place. Instead you try and force me into another 3 year contract instead of just working with me to move my current service. Never did I say I was canceling which renders your whole comment useless. And having a 1.9 star rating tells the true story. With the way that non-contract security systems are booming, it wont be long till you become the Blockbuster of security systems.

I have my system one month, having a problem with cameras and I am not getting any resolution to my problem. Trying to get in touch with corporate and any number you call it brings you to every department except for customer service. Forget having the salesperson who sold you the system to call you back. I am so sorry I didnt read reviews before I purchased the product.

My suggestion is do not use this company. The camera works when it wants to and when it needs to catch something on video you can be sure it wont. Lets just say I had mine completely taken out of the house and they for 6 months kept sending me emails saying we have 100% connection and everything looks good. Ok, thats a problem. And when they refuse to fix stuff youll get tired of them youll want to cancel and you will have to cancel your bank account in order to get rid of them so good luck with that, you only did it to yourself if you get them. I warned you.

Ive had ADT for the past 1 1/2 years at 2 of my business locations. I was sold on the service because I was told I could remotely manage users. Not only has this function never worked...there has also been a continued bug that creates THOUSANDS of default panel users in the management interface that creates hundreds of pages of false users that have to be deleted one user at a time. Ive got tons of emails with ADT from the past 18 months and had many service calls and technicians out without any improvements. Must be the firmware is what Ive been told every time. Today a technician came out and actually put new panels in both locations with different firmware and.....the issue still is not fixed. The service I bought and paid for 18mo ago, and have been paying for monthly, has never worked...ever. I asked about the ADT Guarantee they give you that says if they cant figure out an issue within a few months of installation that they refund the customers money. Well, I never even got a response to that email as the District Manager will no longer communicate with me. HORRIBLE customer service....on a scale of 1 to 10 they get a flat 0.

One horrible experience after another with the best system that we paid $3700 for our NC summer home Oct 2020. 5 false alarms in less than 5 months; over 6 incorrect notifications on the ADT app. One was the night I had to call 911 to take my husband to the hospital. It said front door unlocked. Had our neighbor check the next day. It wasnt unlocked. My husband passed away three weeks later and the problems have persisted. ADT rep says after 3 problems I can get my money back. But another rep has said dont let them have the equipment without the money in hand. This is crazy!! Im grieving for my husband I have to deal with this?

The worst experience in my lifetime! No one takes responsibility for their actions and unethical procedures at ADT or Blue ADT. Which all is the same subsidiary companies. I have asked for my refund after putting in a order less than thirty minutes. And, due to a representative and his non-chalet. Now they have had the nerves of telling me of the way that I have behaved towards them with my persistent concern of wanting to cancel the order and their refusal to refund my money. If anyone is going through a issue with their unethical way of handling business. Please send a review and voice your concerns.

If I could give 0 stars, I would. I had great service in upstate NY for 15 years and moved to WA state and have had HORRIBLE service for 3 years. In fact, the latest actions ADT has taken have been borderline fraudulent. I tried to cancel, was told I had to give 30 days notice and then the next month not only did I get the email saying the communications to my system was working and all was good, but they billed me another month! And, I have NO idea how the communications were successful to my system -- I had removed it from the wall the day I cancelled! BEWARE.

The Corporate office did get in touch with me.BEWARE ... SALES DID NOT DISCLOSE 36 MONTH REQUIREMENT!!!I spoke with an Account Specialist today about canceling the service we established for our college age daughter. She said that we cant cancel because we signed a 36 month contract. I explained to her that 36 months was never disclosed to us. Why would we agree to a 36 month contract when our daughter would be graduating in a year? Her response was you signed it, but if you want to transfer it we can do that. I then explained that due to Covid, my daughter doesnt yet have a job and has no where else to transfer it to. In addition, I lost my job to Covid and we just cant afford to pay out the remaining contract amount. Her response again, you sighed it. For the readers benefit Ill share the same thing I shared with her. Our daughters apartment was broken into with someone entering in the middle of the night WHILE SHE AND ROOMATES WERE THERE!. I live 2000 miles away and was traveling without my computer at the time. So we spoke to a sale person and they were great about getting us set up quickly to give us all some needed peace. I signed documents using my cell phone. Yep, I missed it in the fine print and the sales person was well aware that we were talking about a system for a college student living out of state. He never told us it was a 36 month lease with not even a way to pay a penalty to cancel ... full contract payment is still required. There was absolutely no desire to listen or even allow me to speak with someone else who might have the authority to review the situation for some type of exception, even paying some penalty just not the full remainder of the contract. VERY POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE, for a customer who never missed a payment. Its disappointing when the sales person fully understood the situation and didnt disclose.

ADT is scamming people!! Their sales person can not count proper amount of sensors needed, then requesting you to pay for additional sensors after the installation day. On top of that, they broke one of my windows in my new house, even though I witnessed it myself, they are refusing to fix the issues that they have created!!! To Whom It May Concern:I have been a loyal customer of ADT for 19 years. We just expanded to one of our businesses and were planning on integrating into our other 3 businesses. However, after the poor account management we’ve been experiencing, we will no longer be doing that. Since we moved to our new home 4 years ago, we’ve had to replace 8 Z-way switches, all which require an electrician. It stops working, we call ADT, they send a tech out in 1-2 weeks, they show up and tell us they can’t help us. Then we have to reschedule in 1-2 more weeks so they can come back with an electrician. The last few times we requested the electrician the first time we called, and have been unsuccessful doing so. We have to hire/pay for a babysitter. We have to hire/pay for a worker to take our place at the business. And we have to waste our time and the technicians time, because your protocol says you can’t schedule an electrician the first time around. We have made numerous calls, been on lengthy holds, been hung up on. No one can seem to figure this out. Most of the time they replace the Z-way switches for free, sometimes they charge $200 (we were told we shouldn’t be charged). I was on hold for an hour last time, spoke with a rep, asked to speak with a supervisor, they transferred me to someone who was not a supervisor, was told an electrician would come out, then was hung up on with no return call. And low and behold, today there was no electrician. This is very poor account management/service in my eyes. It should not take a month, two visits, and however long on the phone to take care of one stinking switch. I have not been able to figure out where to file a complaint so I will put on every avenue I am personally aware of.

Stayed home all day waiting for the 12:00-5:00pm window, someone showed up around 6pm and my $250 quoted parts were quoted wrong and they were actually $650? If youre reading this ADT, you 100% tried to scam me, I called in 3 times confirming these prices before I took off work to get these parts installed, check my account as I had them note it every time I called -- Magically when you get here it goes from $250 to $650? I control the HOA contract decisions for the 50 houses in the neighborhood and I cant see us continuing our contract

ADT is very expensive compared to other alarm companies, with more advanced equipment.ADT always tries to charge you few dollars more every chance they get.Stay away from so called adt authorized dealers.They sell you outdated or used equipment and adt does not stand behind them.

I had the unit installed several years ago and I had the code inspector come in today and said it wasnt installed according to code. He added that the most problems he had was with ADT. I had the password which they say doesnt work. They would not give me any information regardless of the fact that Im a customer but they were willing to send me a bill which theyve never sent me before. And ADT person was supposed to be here to meet the building inspector and never showed up. ADT neglected me for over 2 years by not contacting and verifying their installation with the building code inspector. While the system works the customer service is despicable. And as you know customer service is very important to me and to be treated like garbage is beyond reproach.Your answer like your incompetence is too little and too late and if you had any guts you would call me and make amends to me for putting me in my family at risk. Look up my name in your database. or are you not smart enough to figure that out.I do not trust you and nor should anybody else

This has to be one of the worst security company ever. I moved to Florida in 2013 and had a break in my house. I called to install ADT system. The first two years were great. However, I am not sure if there were a change in management but the system was ran carelessly. I did not feel safe with ADT monitoring. Many times my system glitches and no one from ADT was aware my system was off line, until I would call to ask for technician to come fix the monitors. The pest control personal came to my house and triggered my alarm when I was at work, not only did they not call me to alert me my alarm was going off, no local authority were ever dispatched. I have spoken to several customer service personal from ADT and each have a “ reason” why the system “glitched”. At one point they reduced my bill to $15 a month to build customers relations. After years of struggle with ADT horrible service. I decided to cancel service only to be charged a cancellation fee over $500 .I asked on several occasions to speak to someone from cooperate, I was told they would reach out to me within 24hours. No one ever called me. Now that I have canceled my account ADT collections harass me almost two times daily for payment. They should have their collection department monitor customers home, at least one would be assured to receive a phone call.This company does not provide any type of security. In fact with ADT the only thing you are certain of is NOT being monitored.

Avoid Blue by ADT because this company is unethical and dishonest.1. Advertisement fraud. The advertisement states you can stop the monitoring service anytime, but the company charges me $800+ for early termination. I offered to send back all equipment in almost new condition but they only want money.2. Contract fraud. Before I bought the products, I was not informed about a fixed contract term. Only after I completed the purchase, they emailed me a contract. In the 20 page contract, they sneaked in a 36 month fixed term in tiny prints. This is intentional fraud and very unethical.3. Defective products. On 10/23/2020, I spent 2 hours and 9 mins with three customer service agents to try to make the system work, but none of the cameras can be set up. Because the products have so many defects, I asked to cancel the contract, but the company forces me to pay them $800+. It is unlawful and unethical to force customers to pay for useless products!

I am very upset, I have been an ADT customer for 28 years at our business location. Our cameras went out during a storm in November 2020, I have called the office several times. A technician came out on 11/19/2020 without the correct equipment or tools needed to repair our service. He placed a note on our account and DROPPED THE BALL! I called the office today and was told that a technician would be out on Monday 1/11 to review what needs to be done. I pay over $500 monthly to ADT and have not missed a payment or been late. I expect better customer service. This is a security company but we can not feel secure in our office because of the lack of customer service or support. I have to be held accountable to our members if someone walks out the front door and gets attacked if my cameras are down I have no way of seeing or documenting what has happened. I understand you lean towards your branch locations to handle the business, but I am filing a formal complaint against the 3980 Dekalb Technology Parkway, Building 800, Suite 820, Atlanta, GA 30340 where Shaun T is the branch manager for failing to follow up with me (THE CUSTOMER) and failing to follow through with my repairs. I have been a long standing customer and will probably continue to be one, but I am VERY UPSET. Someone needs to be held accountable for this lack of judgement on your companies part. Buyer Beware! This company engages in fraudulent billing activities. After years of having ADT service, which was generally expensive but otherwise satisfactory, I moved to a new state and called to cancel my service. The following month, I saw that I was auto-drafted for the next month and called the company to find out what happened. I was told that there was no record of me calling and cancelling. I thought that was very convenient for them, so I cancelled a second time and got the techs name and a confirmation number. Lo and behold, the next month I was charged again. When I called this time, I was told that it takes 30 days to cancel an account and I was being billed for a month and a half after I cancelled because thats how long it takes to cancel an account.Obviously, this is a terrible business practice and total nonsense. At no other time in my life have I ever cancelled a utility and been billed for the next month. Never. Thats ridiculous. Plus, Im sure if I didnt notice it, the same thing would happen every month for the rest of my life. At this point, all I can do is dispute the charge with my bank, file complaints with the Better Business Bureau, and warn other unsuspecting people on sites like this.Whats worse, I get harassing calls and front door visits from ADT all the time trying to get me to sign back up, despite telling them each time that I have no interest. They will bill you without a signed contract or installing the equipment. They use shoddy local distributors. It is nearly impossible to cancel. Even if you pay out previous contracts in full. Beware these people.Update: since posting this I have talked to a lot of people. Emailed the person below. My phone records show 37 calls to adt. Only one person actually gave a callback. I am still struggling a week later to remedy this situation. ADT makes me feel like a resident of the twilight zone.Darn google, why not allow a quarter start review. Customer Service is a unprofessional and will hang up on you when you ask them question like why my install is cancelled when I confirmed it...click....I call back why did you hang up on me. They apparently can just change their policies years after you sign a contract and force the new policy on you and not even tell you about it. Nowhere in my contract does it say that my service is not transferable or anything about a relocation policy. And despite being told by several representatives that they have changed their relocation policy within the last few years, corporate lied to myself and the BBB saying that their policy has not changed. So if you ever have to move to a new home, they completely screw you over. You have to pay for all new equipment, installation and activation at your new home and even if you cannot afford it, they will not let you out of your contract without paying all the fees. I have never worked with a company as greedy and uncompassionate as ADT.Update: I am on the phone with the 3rd person right now after an hour already. They refuse to cancel my service before the new owners move in. I have never in my life been treated like this by a service company and for absolutely no reason. And the stupidest part is that it comes down to $3.91. I even said I would still pay it, but they do not care. Absolutely ridiculous!!!!

I cancelled my ADT account back in June, not one time did the rep on the recorded line tell me there was a cancellation charge of 1 month. I told him I was relocating out the state and new people were moving into the house with their own security system. Again, not one time did HE tell me that I would be charged for July 2020. I was a ADT Customer since I lived in my house over 10+ years. The service and attitudes of the reps are unbelievable, they must be told by upper management to act this way. You now know why people are going to other companies. I decided to go with another company at my new house just because the way I was treated. I have launched my new company and will need security......I will not be choosing ADT ALL OVER $53.46 you will loose my business. I would like to speak with someone at the Corporate level ASAP!

Employee illegally accessed my credit report without authorization, company promised to submit request to remove from credit report, almost a year of complaints with no action.Had my account taken over by ADT Corporate, this office has not yet issues refund for payments collected for services not rendered.This office, against the promises made on recorded calls, has attempted to bill me $948.28, even though I still have an account with ADT.Horrible office, do not deal with them at all. Only deal with Corporate if you use ADT.In response to Adt’s response, recorded calls actually show that the employees from the office in Pennsylvania who had authorization Promised that only one inquiry would be completed for the installation/move. Your office then did exactly the opposite, without authorization accessed my credit reports. You also attempted to bill me a cancellation fee, for a service that is not canceled. Again recorded calls with employees at ADT guarantee that that cancellation fee will never be billed because my account was never canceled. Your office and staff are horrible.

First I had very bad experience with the sales person on the phone. Then with the installation. Today I had issue with the application, I called customer service and after 30min they where not able to help me. Also today I decided to test the alarm. After couple minutes nobody called me and I turned off because it was too loud.

ADT is a rip off. They don’t know how to get their act straight and have demonstrated how they can hold a customer at ransom when it comes to close an account. 3 different customer support agents tell different policies at each call and they all differ with each other. Additionally, how to be unapologetic and non-empathetic towards a customer is clearly seen from ADT. I feel they are the most unprofessional and unorganized company that should be black listed for their behavior. I’ve cancelled ADT and will advise all my friends to start looking at other options and not get into this misadventure while dealing with ADT. There are options and much superior customer service experiences that should be explored outside ADT.

I have never in my life been so let down by a company. They have managed to completely let down my family and I. I live alone in Houston and needed a reliable security system. I spoke to a sales rep on the phone.. I believe his name is Andrew. He promised us 3 cameras (no additional cost) with full service set up for $60 a month and $300 as an initiation fee that will be given right back. We set up a date for them to come out and look around... ended up saying we will only get one camera and the other 2 will be $700 for initiation If we want to set it up. We were so desperate that we agreed to just get the one camera in the front and everything else the system came with.The technician that came out to my house to set everything up (Jeffrey) didnt bother going through anything with us.. He literally set everything up and rushed out and just told us that it was a very simple process to get everything set up. Shortly after he left we noticed that the outdoor camera was not working at all. We called several times to try to get someone to troubleshoot but it never worked.. Later we found out that the camera that he set up for us was not meant for the outdoors. He literally put an indoor camera outside. What the heck!!! ???? Not to mention one of the doors sensors fell off at 3 in the morning waking up my neighbors and scaring me senseless!!We got in contact with the technician Jeffrey and asked for a managers number. Jeffrey ended up giving us a false number just so we can make it past the 3 days when we were bound to a contract.. This company is nothing but a scam and I will do everything in my power to let as many people know what they have done. Now they refuse their equipment back and want us to pay $1500. What a bunch of crooks. NEVER AGAIN!!! DO NOT USE THEM!!!!

My association has been a customer for 16years. Our system went down 6 weeks ago. After 4 hrs of phone calls and getting no satisfaction on fixing the issue and getting put off for months and no assurance they will show up then we decided to take our business elsewhere. Dont do business with this company! They do shady business!! I thought this company was good, since I had good experience with them in previous years, but not anymore. Eleven months ago, I called the company out to my property to REACTIVATE the account. The renters had left and we decided to fix up the place while it was empty in order to sell it. We didnt want the property to be vandalized while it was empty. The agent that came to the property to reactivate the account and install equipment knew this. When the sale of the property closed a month ago, I called to cancel the account. They congratulated me on the sale (how nice) and told me to expect the final bill. Since I had been paying about $54/mo., I was shocked when I received the final invoice for over $1000. I was sure that it was a mistake, but when I called about it they said I signed a 3-year contract. What??? We were selling the house; I never would have signed a contract. Im sure I signed the agents tablet when he was at the house, but you have to sign for everything these days. He DID NOT tell me about a contract, which he knew I would not have agreed to, and neither did the rep on the phone when I called to cancel. And when I called about all this, they were very smug. No regard for good business practices. I even submitted an email a week ago on their website to report deceptive sales (among their list of predefined subjects for reporting, by the way) and have not received a response. This is TOTAL BS and I am telling everyone about it. Crooks!

Im not a big fan of writing negative reviews. Unfortunately, ADT has given me such a run around on the equipment that they installed in my house that I have no choice but to point out the horrible service I received.ADT charged me close to $500 to replace some C02 detectors in my house. And, they did not program the new detectors into my Key Pad (which they where supposed to have done).Upon realizing this I called to have ADT come back to do the needed setup. They were a no-show for this appointment. So, I made another appointment. And, again they were a no-show for this second appointment.Then a day after the second missed appointment the original installed showed up at my house unannounced and began ringing and pounding on my door and continually calling my cell phone.Now mind you, I live in New York City. And, in NYC you dont answer your door if you not expecting someone. Especially if it appears to be a disgruntled worker that youve complained about.I called ADT and asked them to request that their worker stop ringing my door bell and calling me. Worst service ever. I waited until my 1 year term was up to cancel. When I tried to make my final payment they said it was on auto pay, they they have collections call me and wake me up at 8:00am. I call ADT back and they say I don’t need to do anything. I feel this company is being run by incompetent people.

Worst Experience EVER.After 12 years of service it has taken me countless 45+ minute phone calls and emails to cancel this service. And, Im still not certain its cancelled. The customer service is the worst. They shuffle you back and forth between multiple departments in a single telephone call. Additionally, they require a letter on company letterhead with a signature and a 30-day notice in order to cancel service. Even after supplying all thats required I continue to receive emails telling me they dont have enough information to cancel the service. The last customer service rep I spoke with told me I need to supply a reason for cancelling. Whose business it why Im cancelling? Ive been with you for 12 YEARS. Im not under a contract.Be forewarned. Do NOT use ADT Corporation for alarm monitoring services unless you want to be locked in for life.

Unprofessional! I called to get a quote for a fire alarm system for my Academy. They scheduled an appointment, but called me back stating that they dont secure Schools/Childcare businesses because they dont pay their bill. This policy obviously was created the moment I called, because there is nothing in writing on their website or anywhere, that states this information. I spoke to Paul Durant and he was absolutely the worst, so rude! He had no type of class or customer service skills. I sent an email to Tim Tickle the regional manager, and never heard anything from him. I also called to make a complaint, in regards to the customer service I received from Paul Durant and to address the issues of not being able to get a quote. Paul told me they didnt want to waste the gas to come out, which is mind blowing. Ive had other companies come out just to give a quote, not knowing if I will even go with their company. I was looking to pay for my equipment upfront, so not sure what the problem was (they didnt bother to ask). It doesnt make sense to refuse to put in an alarm system if a person will be paying up front.After reading other posts, they have the worst customer service, and many reviews speak to the fact that their equipment is sub par as well. I dont want to deal with this type of organization.IF YOU HAVE AN SCHOOL OR DAYCARE DONT WASTE YOU TIME TO EVEN GET A QUOTE BECAUSE YOU WONT PAY YOUR BILL!To be fair, I just got of the phone with Tim Tickle the regional manager, and he was very professional and offered to get them out to do the quote and provided me with his number, for future reference. He apologized for the customer service I received and seemed very genuine. I hope he gets some training for Paul Durant, to assist in his customer service skills. He may be a nice guy (I dont know), but he is a liability for the company as it stands.

The Worst alarm company bar none! We paid them to monitor our house and smoke alarms. The smoke alarm went off for no reason, so we had to unplug it. ADT said it had no record of the alarm going off, even though we are paying for them to monitor it.We simply asked for a credit for the fire alarm service, ADT is not delivering. They refused to do so. They said they must sent out a technician at $75 for a half-hour to fix their faulty equipment. We refused to do so and will be cancelling with this criminal company. ADT could care less about your security, it is all about the money!

If this could be a 0 I would. Had nothing but problems this this security system. 1st when a sensor broke they couldnt work with me for a time a tech could come out. I work in customer service and I have to work with customers availability. 2nd the alarm was always going off for no reason. Then on Christmas eve they emergency alert went off. Police came and knocked down our door. I was at the store and didnt hear my phone they had wrong number for my boyfriend which they said was our fault for them entering in the wrong number. The tech came out 2 days later and said the last tech programmed the system wrong. So for their faulty system they said they wont reimburse us for the new door. But they sure want their payments. Cant wait until my contract is up in May. They are so gone.

Any company that requires a written statement objecting to rate increases then does not provide a mailing address to which this statement is to be sent is engaged in questionable business practices.In the ADT contract section 3 allows the customer to object in writing to a rate increase -which will happen yearly without fail - but this same contract does not provide a mailing address to which to send this objection. In effect the customer is told they can object but ADT makes it impossible to send the required written objection to them. No address, no way to send the notice to ADT.If after the initial three year contract(trap) you wish to no longer use this company for your security good luck in trying to cancel. They require you to call their retention phone number - there is of course no record of this call for you to reference, so you wind up calling again and again while they keep charging you month after month. Sending a letter to their corporate office should be enough to cancel this continuation of a contract you want to cancel but it wont be enough. Best bet is to begin charge back disputes with your credit card company for each charge ADT places after you requested termination of your contract.I will never recommend this company to anyone. There are so many more options available that it would be silly to go with a company that partakes in such questionable practices.Stay away! Their system may prevent a burglary but youll be robbed regardless.IN RESPONSE TO JACKIE -All this apology and not one mention of the address or the reason why ADT requires written notice in their contract but wont provide a mailing address. I think my states attorney generals office would be better able to get this address information.

This is the worst, I mean profoundly the worst security company that people should ever have to deal with. I have contacted ADT services to install an alarm system at my home. I work far and didnt want my wife who just delivered a baby via cesarean, to be home alone with a new born baby. I contacted ADT for an Alarm system services. The tech came and installed the the system. Later, discovered that service was faulty and was working properly. I then came home to verify and contacted ADT in order to have a tech to come out resolve the malfunction of the system. ADT services provided a date and a time which between 8:00-12:00. We had a doctor appointment for my son the same day 1:00pm. At 12:15PM tech never showed up and we were never contacted by ADT as a courtesy. I personally called AdT to find out about the delay, I was told that Technician was down the street from my house and will be momentarily. Right after, I called the my son Pediatrician to reschedule the appointment. I was then lucky to be able to reschedule the appointment for the same day but 2:00pm. Again, no curtesy call from ADT and tech never showed up for the service call. At 1:45 pm , we left the house to be able to attend the doctors appointment. Until today (01/26/2020) no words from ADT for a system that was installed since 2017. We received runarounds and disconnected calls as customer service representative didnt want to deal with. ADT representative said , they are allowed three unsuccessful service calls before I can get out of the contract. I took my wife and kid with to where my job was located, which is 28hrs away from Virginia. I had informed ADT that I am going to take off of work and be home to wait for someone to decide not come again. Later, ADT referred my account to collection. When called Customer service agent either hang up or transferred the call to an unrelated department so they wont get involve in the mess. Today( 01/26/2020) I called ADT to resolve the matter, the attitude stays the same except they keeping on transferring the calls to other departments that has one nothing to do with the matter. It took me almost 8hrs of calling ADT until I was informed the account was sold to Mjollnir group. A phone number was provided to call. I called Mjollinr group and was informed that account was sold to perfection collection. When I called perfection collection, the automated says mountains solutions. Earlier in the day, I was redirected to defenders a 3rd party contractor for ADT, by one of the representative to resolve the matter. I was on the phone with a gentleman who informed me that I had 2 months left on the contract and the balance on the account was about 50.99 dollars, which I knew was wrong but I would have paid just to have my own peace of mind out of this mess. The gentleman told me to wait so he can check the balance on the account and transferred the call to different department. I have enough of this nightmare. Technology is so advance for people to deal with ADT. People do not install ADT system in your home, with the ideas to keep your family safe. In fact, you are not safe with ADT. The company itself is a fraud, all they do is to sign contracts to people and sell it to other company. When you have a problem with your system they will refuse to fix the problem. Please people , especially if you have kids, do not use ADT, the system doesnt work and so is the company. Is it sad, this is actually my first in my 40 years of existence to right a complaint about such company. I have received bad services from other companies but the treatment from ADT is unheard of. So people , i am warning you. Dont use ADT in your home for no reason. You are actually safer without it. God bless you!!!!

Completely not happy with this system. Manager told that I’ll able to see my to cars in a front of a house. But finally I can see only one car. And they advise only to buy another camera. My another camera catch leaves, squirrels...so during the day I have more than 200-300 alerts by sms and mails. When I ask to fix camera sensitive...they can’t. To change door bell...sorry no. Security panel with a lot of wires, and they can’t hide it inside the wall. And more funny if I cancel my account I should pay more then 700$$$ extremely not recommend this company

Brett Burge the salesman came over to our house on time and provided a detailed and excellent presentation of the services that ADT provided. We were very impressed with his knowledge of the products and the guidance and advise he provided to us. With this detailed information, we signed our contract to have the services installed. On the day of installation, Rich Rodriguez, the installer arrived on time with all the materials and did an excellent installation within a few hours without hiccups, and provided a great demonstration how to use the system. Definitely recommend ADT and Brett as your sales rep and Rich for your installation.

Worst alarm company ever - my alarm has never worked since they installed it. 5 different techs came out to fix it and were unsuccessful even though after each time they assure me the alarm works. I’ve tried to cancel my contract for 4 months now and no one has gotten back to me even though I give up an hour of my day every time I call them (about every 2 weeks). I even paid for new equipment the first time the alarm was installed. What a nightmare! I’ve never experienced such terrible customer service in my life.6/5/19 I emailed the contact below and have yet to receive a response - I have now filled w/ the BBB. I would really appreciate someone getting back to me.

BY FAR THE WORSE EXPERIENCE! I have been a customer since 2016 and have been mislead every single time I move! When I entered into the contract i was never informed that it is not transferable so when I moved from my apartment i ended up being forced to enter yet another three year contract with their partners Defenders. During one of my moved the person who came to pick up my equipment showed me how the equipment I had was not installed accurately which made me completely lose confidence in the system. The system would randomly shut off and beep in the middle of the night. I called to complain about it several times but it persisted. The system would randomly say that a window was opened when it wasnt. I expressed my frustration to the agents but all they do is apologize and say that I am under contract. Then i moved again and ADT transferred my service to my new apartment under the Life Sheild partners and yet under lifeshield I received a call from defenders saying that I needed to pay a termination fee with them! There has ALWAYS been a disconnect between their authorized contractors and ADT, and when I call the contractors they transfer me to ADT and it becomes a transfer game and pointing fingers towards who has access. I no longer have a need nor do I use the system but to cancel would be 1k. When I call to speak to management i get transferred around from ADT to life shield, have long holds and now apparently my only options is to either pay the 1k or keep paying for a monthly service that I am not using.THIS IS NOT THE BEST OPTION FOR ANYONE RENTING!

This company is a fraud. I installed a few months ago. I was told that I had 6 months to cancel with a refund. Come to find out that was a lie, they charged me an additional 800.00. I have been trying to cancel for a week, I have been hung up, told that the Manager has nothing to say to me, I have been transferred to other representatives without even knowing I was being transferred, told that there is no one to come get my equipment and if I send my equipment they will just send it back, I was told by one representative that he wants nothing more than to just leave me on hold all day- his name is Jay without an employee number. ADT is not even servicing my account, they have some whack job company named Defenders. ADT is a joke. I have had to reach out to my Attorney to contact ADT to get this service cancelled. Even if I wanted to change my mind at this point and keep the service, I could never deal with a company like this that allows this kind of treatment for Customers. They are billing the wrong card for service when I told them not to bill that card, but there is no way to actually speak with anyone worth anything to get anything resolved. I will FOREVER let everyone know how horrible ADT really is. HORRIBLE, HORRIBLE and more HORRIBLE. Awful company.

I canceled service after moving and they continue to bill me. They keep promising a refund, but they just keep billing me. I have called multiple times and they always promise a resolution, but never do anything. Stay far away from this company, there are much better choices out there.Update: After filing a BBB complaint ADT issued a refund for the months they charged after my cancellation. So the issue was resolved, its just a shame that I had to file a complaint to get them to do the right thing.

We were selling our old house and having a new house built. When i initially called ADT, they told me i could take all of my equipment and move the service to the new house. Then we called to start the process and we were told that the equipment must stay with the old house and they will discount new equipment for the new house. They would also waive the cancellation fee for the old house.After the fact, we were charged the cancellation fee on a card that ADT was not authorized to use. I fought to get the fee back. The manager i spoke with told me that as long as the new house gets ADT service they will not charge us the old cancellation fee, he did not say anything about it going into collections before hand.Now ADT is stating that our old account will go into collections for the cancellation fee. We are constantly being told different things by different people at ADT. None of them give you all of the information you need.ADT has some very shady business practices.

After all, they want you to complete the 3-year agreement you have with them to maximize their profit.So, they reduced my rate from $56.70 to $19.99 per month (plus tax), for six months. Pretty sweet, right?Well, guess what happened? Their billing system gave me the reduced rate for only 1 month. So, I waited until the six-months they offered me ended and I called them to tell them how their billing system made an error and that they should honor the special rate.The new customer service agent quickly tried to sign me up for the next 6-months for $19.99 to retain my loyalty. However, I made them a counter offer: Apply the amount your agreed to offer me but never gave me towards my cancelation fee, which was a hefty penalty (over $250). But, with my new adjustment credit of $220.25 I only had to pay $45.75 (see photo). But, this took 3 phone calls and an escalation to their Account Management Department in order to accomplish this.Also, after my cancelation I kept my security equipment I had pay for plus all of the cable installation around the house. Good Value!It goes to show you: any debt can be negotiated or cancelled in your favor, especially if a company is in the habit of enticing you with lower rates just to keep you paying month after month for an overpriced service.

I have been a client of Protection1 now ADT for over 21 years. I was relatively OK with their services. Something happened recently that made me want to cancel service. I had a sensor on a bathroom window which fell on its own possibly because of moisture. I did not call them right away to get it put back up as I wanted to do some work in the bathroom and it will be a waste of time. Finished the work, called them, sent a technician out for four minute and a piece of double sided tape. ADT billed me $135 for that!!!I called to inquire. The rep who helped was great. Brianna. She contacted the local office and they will not reverse the charge. I asked to cancel service. Due to my long time with ADT, I was switched to a manager named Lizzy. I explained the situation to her. She reversed the tech charge. She then offered a reduced monthly rate if I decide to stay. I informed her that I need to think about it. She said OK and made notes. On August 19th, my wife calls and cancels service. She spoke with Briana who took the order and told her that the amount due is only $54.80 due to the 30 day cancellation requirement. We asked for an updated bill. Never received one. Called twice and I was told each time that the cancellation has not updated yet. I decided to send in the check but I wanted to call and inform them what I am doing. Called this morning, spoke with Gloria who confirmed the request exists but not updated yet. I was switched to cancellation department and spoke with Sierra. Sierra told me that I was given the wrong information by Gloria and basically by every one I spoke with. That there is no cancellation request but she found a record of my calls to Brianna!!!! After spending 39 minutes on the phone with Sierra, the conclusion was that she was going to pull the call and see what was said and that she is going to reverse the credit for the Technician billing granted by Lizzy. and she will bill us for 30 days from today on top of that not from August 19th when we placed the cancellation call/request.I was also asked to call back on Monday to see what resolution they have.not only she lied several times, she was a bully and she was not willing to switch me to Lizzy to get more clarification. First excuse was she is not in and then she was in a different location.It seems to me that since Protection 1 was sold to ADT, the service and reps are useless with few exceptions. I advise anyone and everyone to steer clear from this company and their services as it is no more than a trap to get money out of you. I regret every penny I spent with them and I hope you will not make the same mistake

Below is the complaint I filed with the Better Business Bureau 12/05/2018. I was just notified by the BBB ADT has not responded to my complaint. Arrogance or Ignorance? Think twice before you enter into a contract with this company!We signed up with ADT November 2, 2018, mainly because that is what the previous owner used. ADT offered a promotion to us that included a ADT Pulse camera doorbell and a remote camera outside. I was pleased with the camera coverage of the ADT Pulse camera and told them dont worry about the remote camera. ADT claims they refunded the promotional price of the camera, $67.Since, weve had nothing but problems with the ADT Pulse camera charging. Typically, in the mornings we can access the camera video via our ADT app, however, by afternoon and evening we lose access due to low battery. On the ADT app, we consistently see low battery as an issue.Ive had ADT tech support out twice from their local office in Fayetteville. The latest visit today the tech said he was going to replace the ADT Pulse doorbell because it doesnt charge below 32 degrees. My thought process was, ok, the Ring 2 Doorbell doesnt offer the same camera view as the ADT Pulse so I will need the remote camera and asked ADT to honor the original promotional pricing for the camera. They said the promotional price expired and they would not honor it.After some research, the ADT Pulse doorbell is known to have issues charging at temperatures of 32 degrees or below and this has been out there for a while.Bottom line, I decided no to have the camera installed based on the ADT Pulse Doorbell, a known faulty camera. Now that they want to replace the ADT Pulse with a Ring 2, they wont honor the original agreement.I was on the phone with ADT this morning for 35 minutes and spoke with (5) different individuals, having to explain our situation to each one. The last person I spoke with, Brady, a supervisor at the local office in Fayetteville, could use some lessons in customer service. He was very condescending and did nothing to defuse the situation, on the contrary, he escalated it. Basically, his response was there was nothing he could do because we signed a contract. Heard that (3) times. There was absolutely no consideration for the faulty equipment installed by his office!!!

July 2018 I had been receiving false alarms. I called the 800 number, a girl told me if I wanted my system fixed theyd have to change me. At that time I said forget it, dont want the ADT service. My system wasnt working. I found a new company to service me. I sent emails back in the emails sent to me telling to cancel my account. Every email .I finally called, I was told I had to call back, they couldnt cancel my account. NOW, I called to cancel the system and I was then offered a new upgrade system. After I set up new service with another company . So they canceled. NOW I recieved a new bill for three months, of NO service. Spoke to a supervisor named Tressie on November 11 2018 9am, SHE WAS SO RUDE, SARCASTIC AND TALKED OVER ME, DIDNT HEAR ANYTHING I SAID, EVERY TIME I TALKED SHE TALKED OVER ME. I called ADT on September 2 to cancel my service (too expensive when compared to the competition). I was told they required a 30-day notice. My credit card account was charged for another full months service on September 13. I am now told they have a record of my call on September 2 but the cancellation was never submitted. Now the service is cancelled effective October 12, which by my account is more than 30 days from September 2. In my book, this is an unfair, abusive and deceptive trade practice. If I could give ADT less than one star, I would. Shameful.

SCARY situation and unreliable!!! We tried to secure our business with about half a million dollars worth of assets with ADT only to find out that there was an issue with our alarm system and we were not being monitered for over 3 months. We have been with ADT for over 5 yrs. How many times has this happenend before? We do not know. However, ADT does not have a process to inform the customer when the alarm is not working. We were never called or informed about this issue. We found out about this issue when our system started acting up. Horrible customer service representative and very unreliable service.

Had a guy name David come for a installation & he was extremely rude & clueless on what he was there for! No work order in hand which I mention & he told me they don’t give them work orders I have too tell him what I wanted which was a lie. I called the customer service line talk to a rep about it and asked for a refund where I was left on hold for a record breaking 1hr 34 minutes. After working out my house he got in the car & left called again to speak with a manager & be refunded my money manager was also rude said I’ll receive my refund in full in 3-5 business days, still haven’t gotten a penny back! Customer service is beyond trash meanwhile your trying to prevent robberies & you have ADT trying to rob you without a gun!

ADT did not at any point disclose 3 year contract period, and that you are forced to pay 75% of the remaining fees. The contract is show electronically at installation and I dont ever remember seeing 3 years. It is only now when I want to cancel that ADT is telling me Im bound to a 3 year contract.
