I (thought) I needed a tire rotation,, an alignment, possibly balance of tires so I called and they were able to get me in the day and time I needed. I dropped off my vehicle, I get a call maybe an hour or so after dropping off my vehicle and was told they didnt do any of the above and my main concern should be on getting new tires then to do all of the above. Taylor was able to explain perfectly and answer all of my concerns, said he could even match tire prices if need be. MIDAS did not charge me for any of what they did (visual inspect of brakes, washer fluid etc) on account of my issue is my tread is at a 2. I will certainly considering coming back in a month for the work they suggested due to their honestly and not charging me for todays work. Thanks again MIDAS and Taylor, and the techs!

I had an unexplained very loud noise coming from the back end of my van. I called a couple of places but none could get me in. Called this location Taylor was able to get me in. Went in for an inspection. They proceeded to tell me my sway bar links were bad and it would be a few hundred to fix. So I went to my buddy who has been a mechanic on my type of car for 25 years. There was absolutely nothing wrong with my car just as I had suspected. I went somewhere else and it passed an inspection with flying colors. So I’m assuming this is one of those places that will always find something wrong with your car on an inspection because “that’s how they make their money”.

*Edit* I do want to say that the guy at the front desk is very friendly I just dont trust the information that he is being told to tell me. *** This place is walking distance from home so it is perfect for drop off and walk home. They caught my attention 1st when getting an oil change they told me it wasnt an option to not use synthetic oil for my car. Whatever, go ahead, then I went in for an inspection and my old truck odometer only lights up when it wants to. They said they cant inspect it unless they fix that which isnt true, I have had this truck with the same issue for years. I told them I would just come get it. Then they called me back saying that they found out they can do the inspection. Called me back again saying that I need lower ball joints. This seems strange because I just had another mechanic rebuild the front end last year for me. I picked the truck up and took it to my trusted mechanic who said the ball joints are fine and I just paid for a new inspection from them. It is very unfortunate because this Midas is so close and convenient.

They were great. Explained everything, very courteous and trustworthy. I will definitely use them again.

If I could give this shop 0 stars I would. They tried to charge me 1200 for JUST calipers, hoses, and a flush on the front. I haggle and said that was a bit steep, to which he welcomed me to beat his price by calling the apples to apples stores like Meineke and Firestone. So I did. And with every place I called they beat their price by a couple hundred. Found the same job at meineke for 720. I told him this, to which he calls meineke to chew them out and accuse them of price gouging, only to call me back and tell me he can no longer do the work. I told him Id let him do it for 800, to which he said he couldnt because hed be losing money. Whats even better is I beat his price with ANOTHER MIDAS. They will loosen bolts to claim something else is wrong, like what happened with the BRAND NEW control arm I put in which he tried telling me needed replaced. Never take your vehicle here. Even if its just for some routine brake work and especially if its something major. He will bend you over on prices and whats worse is they stripped one of the caliper bolts putting it back in, and over torqued all of the lugs to the point where my impact snapped the head trying to take it out. This shop is a nightmare. Never take your vehicles here. For the love of everything that is holy do not support this snakes business.

Just got an estimate on struts and the parts are 3 times more than Advance Auto Parts across the street. I went in for the 18.99 conventional oil/filter change. I TRUST J HOWARD AUTOMOTIVE IN INDEPENDENCE. 291 HWY AND TRUMAN ROAD. NAPA CAR CARE CENTER.

They helped me apply for financing to mitigate the cost of the repairs. Because my car is 19 years old with quite a few issues that I knew of before purchasing. I took my car there for an inspection because I have had good service from them in the past. This time, not so much. I noticed that I didn’t see any of the people I was used to seeing there but I wasn’t worried because my car was in excellent mechanical condition because I do all of my repair work myself. Then they failed my car for a serpentine belt saying it was “cracked”. I had just replaced that belt a couple of months prior to taking it in for inspection and the belt was in great shape. I have over 25 years of experience as a mechanic and knew immediately what they were doing. They get your car in knowing you need an inspection to get it licensed and hold it hostage until you pay them for repairing something. It’s absolute robbery. It’s shops like them that are responsible for giving mechanics a bad reputation. I will never take any of my vehicles there again and suggest others do the same.Similarly, a friend of mine took his car there for an inspection about two weeks ago at my recommendation and had the exact same kind of problem. They told him they could have it fixed for him that day at a cost of around $1,000 dollars. He took his car elsewhere and it passed just fine. Please beware!

Couldnt align my Ford E350 with a reading bed

Nathan Shepard, (the Shop Manager), was extremely professional and helpful. Brandon, (the Mechanic on duty), was very knowledgeable and helpful in understanding what they listed on the repair order. They walked me through everything and showed me each and every line item I had questions about. I could not have been more satisfied from the initial phone call to schedule the appointment through paying the bill at the end of the service provided. These guys are top-notch from start to finish!

Came in today for a basic oil change and the customer service was great. The guys showed me causes of concern I should keep an eye out for but didnt try to scare me into paying for immediate repairs. Thats the kind of thing that builds trust and more places should operate like this.

Will never take my vehicle here again. Made an appointment for this past Saturday and receive a call 15 minutes prior pleading for me to reschedule because everyone has decided to come in for service all of a sudden and it got very busy I had an APPOINTMENT, how are walk-ins going to effect you servicing my vehicle?Since it wasnt going to ruin my day I was friendly and said no problem lets reschedule for the following Saturday. I then had some free time first thing on a Tuesday morning prior to the appointment and the whole shop was empty with about five or six personnel standing around doing nothing so I figured Id stop in and see if they can service my vehicle quick. Same worthless employee that I had spoken to on the phone is at the desk, says uhhh durrrr, we have a person coming in on appointment right now, if he comes in well have to stop servicing your vehicle and do theirs....... UHHHH WHAT?@?!?!?! You have got to be kidding me, you make zero sense!! So appointments are kept for other customers??? Shouldnt you have done that for me for my APPOINTMENT?!?!?!This MIDAS is a JOKE!! Terrible customer service, lazy employees, and all around trash. This used to be a reliable place for service and now I cant tell you enough to stay FAR AWAY from this hole.

Got my timing belt and water pump replaced. Saved me on labor by doing them both. Brandon did a great job working on the vehicle and Nathan had excellent customer service.

I stopped in on a Saturday because all the other options were booked out for the day. To my surprise they were able to get me right in 😬. I’m guessing there was a reason they were super slow on a Saturday. I decided to get an oil change and have my tires rotated and balanced. Before they started the work they informed me I would need an alignment and to do the alignment I would need a few other parts replaced first, totaling $700. And wouldn’t you know they could complete the work before they closed which was about 2 hours away. That was my first red flag considering the parts needed for the work totaled about $60. $300 per hour for labor??Wow I’m in the wrong profession. I declined the service and took my vehicle to my trusted mechanic Monday morning. To my surprise my mechanic was able to complete the alignment with out replacing any parts. They wanted $700, my mechanic charged me $70. Buyer beware!!!

Its hard to find a good place to take your car and not get taken for a ride. I know enough myself to know when someone is being dishonest, and believe me, there are many of them around here. These folks are honest, knowledgeable and fair priced. They always get our cars back the same day we make the appointment.

I took my car in because somebody cut in to my catalytic converters trying to steal it and they told me it would be 1800$ to fix it so I took it to some one else and they welded it back for 40$ so beware theses guys will lie to you I will never do business with those guys again

I trust taking my vehicles here (plural). I always get great service (if it is not 100%, they make it right and fix it). They are fast and give me my vehicle the same day. If they are not equipped to fix it (our Audi TT) they are honest. I am happy here and they are my first point of contact for any issues I am having with my vehicles.

The manager Adam and his crew do great work. Im never disappointed when I come in to have my car service. I would recommend this shop to anyone in the area.

I have previously had good service at this Midas but recently took a car in for an inspection and I just had a suspicion that the guy was going to tell me it didn’t pass. Guess what, it didn’t. He explained the things that didn’t pass, told me it needed fluids also, (I didn’t let him know the fluids had just been checked 3 days before). Essentially around $500 in suggested repairs. I left and took the vehicle to the ford dealer had it inspected there and without telling them anything it passed. I then specifically asked about the list of things Midas told me were wrong and they said those things were fine.This was a new manager at Midas that I had never dealt with before as I said earlier I’d always had good experiences before this. I’d say be aware if you’re planning to take your car here.

I was traveling and experienced what I believed was a brake issue. I asked Siri for the closest Midas. These guys were great; got my car right in and within a half hour I had the diagnosis. After a couple of hours my cars front brakes were back to excellent working condition. They even gave me a coupon and a mail-in rebate.I traveled back home, which was 1,200 miles from this Midas in Blue Springs, MO without anymore brake problems.I cant thank these guys enough for their professionalism and prompted work.Nothing worse than being so far from home and have vehicle problems.Midas to the rescue!!

My breaks started grinding last night so took it in this morning. Despite having only two guys in the shop they got my car looked at really quickly. The breaks werent going to be too expensive. But the mechanic noticed my front struts were leaking oil (something I has suspected might be wrong as well.) The bill added up but they offer a really nice financing plan that made getting these repairs a lot easier on my immediate pocketbook.Overall, really great service and everything was wrapped up ahead of schedule. Staff was very friendly and knowledgeable. Will definitely head there again if I need more work done.

I give Midas two stars only because the gentleman were friendly however I went to get my brakes looked at and I was told that my front calipers needed to be replaced with my front brakes I was so happy to learn that this was covered under my warranty from my dealership but that is ridiculously high( THEY TRIED TO CHARGE ME $1000 THAT WAS FOR ONLY MY FRONTS) for a single mother or a single-family home they did offer a financing or something in that nature I dont know if I was potentially getting ready to be duped or taken advantage of out of my money because Im a woman and dont know much about cars but I know that I will never use midas ever due to this experience and I will let every household know thats on a budget or fixed income not to use this place its out of our price range

Midas has gotten a whole new management team this past April and they are PHENOMENAL! The past reviews serve no justice to the incredible customer service I received! I was in and out in 15 minutes for an oil change.

40% markup in prices.2014 Taurus. Rear rotors they charged $80 each side plus $110 labor.Oreilly and Napa were $53 per rotor.Front rotors machined they charged $110 labor.Total cost with tax was about $410 rounded to the nearest dollar.What a sham. I would recommend a car dealer at these prices.

I went for an inspection they failed my car because of a lose ball joint and wanted to charge me 500 to fix it!!! I went down the street to another shop and told them what midas said so they inspected my car again and said my ball joints were fine and passed my car. I just took my car to my mechanic after 3 months from my inspection and asked him to double check my ball joints just because I have kids in my car constantly. He said my ball joints were 100% ok!!! They try to rip you off I will never go to them ever again!!

When Napa brought the receipt in for the parts they were delivering I was able to glance at it. They marked up my parts 75%. They charged labor of $109.00 for an hour an 10 minutes which is reasoanable but charged $357.00 for pats they purchased for far less. Go somewhere else. If you don’t have just an over abundance of money, you won’t get much done here because they value their “lifetime pets warranty at a 75% markup. Ironically, Napa offers the same warranty on the parts if you just buy them direct from Napa. Don’t get shafted. Go somewhere else.

Treated me good, got my alignment done within an HR.

Went to take a rental car for an oil change using a fleet account. The guy at counter seemed lost and bewildered about how to do his job. Wasted what little time I had leaving me sitting there while he fumbled around trying to figure out what to do. Wasnt even sorry about it. Didnt get the oil changed because he never figured it out.

I can tell you that these guys really know what they’re doing. They will take the time to show you what you need and make you feel taken care of.
