What a hidden gem. Went heat for the first time after driving by it for almost 10 years. I have been missing some of the best, if not, the best bagels in town. There bagels were fresh and their cream cheese options were fantastic.I ordered a Smoked Salmon and cream cheese Everything bagel and it was outstanding. The salmon is already mixed with the home made cream cheese and it was delicious. Definitely making this a place to stop by regularly. Strawberry cream cheese and peanut butter and chocolate chip cream cheese were also great!

If you eat dairy free and enjoy great tasting and high quality cookies and baklava, Marx Hot Bagels is the place for you. My granddaughters and I love these goodies. Stop by and give them a try. I keep mine in the refrigerator and they last all week. Great nightly snack.

Love love loved the bagels. Got two garlic, two onion and two plain. The tuna salad is super tasty. This is the closest thing to having New York city bagels on Cincinnati. Cant wait to get more!

Great experience! Fast service, good prices, and excellent food. They have so many varieties of bagels to try and they are actually in stock (unlike Panera). Try the pumpkin bagel toasted—my new Fall favorite!

Most unprofessional place I know was picking up an order and they said we are preparing it now and 10 mins later and multiple customers later still no order. I would not go to this place this is not my first bad experience tried to give them the benefit of the doubt but no its just unprofessional staff

No other place I’ll go for a good bagel in Cincinnati. I am the fourth generation to come weekly to Marc’s bagels. My great grandfather is posted on the wall!The staff are very friendly and helpful. The bagels are always fresh and wholesome. They even donate hundreds of bagels weekly to deserving organizations. I love Marc’s Bagels!

Tuna Salad on a Toasted Everything bagel. Pumpernickel salt stick and a cup of delicious vegetarian chili.

Not quite the same as before change in ownership. They say they kept the same recipes, but tuna is just not the same. They made a spectacular tray for 15 people that had enough food to really feed 20! Quite delicious! I will certainly order trays from them again!

A bit expensive for bagel sandwiches, but they are pretty tasty. If its busy, I sometimes feel rushed as theres usually a line. During Covid there doesnt seem to be long lines, but the food is still fresh and tasty.

Fruit bars dont have as much fruit. Sweet breads were dried out. I live to far to return.

Best bagel Ive ever had. Everything bagel + vegetable cream cheese was delicious. Husband had an everything bagel with smoked salmon and cream cheese, also excellent. If I lived locally, I would get these all of the time!

Lots and lots of great fresh bagels and spreads. Interestingly no meat options except for fish, so a thick corned beef with sauerkraut bagel is out, but Im sure youll find something you will like. The salmon and cream cheese spread is outstanding.

The Bagel shop is always busy..theres always a line.. Theres a reason for that..The Bagels are great. Im addicted to the everything Bagels..They are just the perfect density. Great toppings. Full of flavor.. And you have to get a tub of the Salmon cream creese..its the perfect topper(schmear). Its worth a few minutes to stand in line. So..go get a Bagel..or a bag..ThanksFred

These are the best bagels! Nice golden, crunchy crust with a good chewy interior. Marx has A huge assortment of flavors - all of the flavors are very tasty. Even though they were very busy, service was fast and friendly. The old style diner tables and chairs add a nice nostalgic touch to the atmosphere. They also offer a variety of drinks as well as pastries.

GREAT Bagel place in Cincinnati. Excellent everything bagel. AND they place a nice smear of cream cheese on it. If you live far away, you can freeze some and eat whenever. :D

I wanted to love this place - the space and the decor were promising (kind of “old school” and quaint, like the owners have been in business a long time, which inspired confidence).But (and you knew a “but” was coming!) the “everything” bagel that was served was barely edible- hard, dry, etc. It also should have been called an “almost nothing” bagel because there wasn’t much on it (see photo).I wound up throwing the bagel in the trash and headed to Breugger’s down the street. This is the first time I’ve ever thrown out food - I don’t believe in waste. Also: The bagel from Marx was about $1.50 more expensive than the other bagel shop- for exact same order.They could have been having a bad day. I would have brought the bagel back in to flag the problem to a manager (for their own sake, the sake of their reputation), but with COVID, I decided against going back in.

Had a whole wheat bagel with veggie sausage and egg. Didnt think Id like the sausage but its good stuff. They also have great baked goods. Ill be stopping again.

Great bagels! The assortment of flavors this place has is insane! The banana nut, and strawberry flavors are the best, in my opinion. The best part about this place is they have bagel sandwiches! In my last trip, I got egg and cheese on sourdough, and PB&J on banana nut. Love this place! Note: Personally I would recommend that if you’re gonna get bagels here, I would go early when they’re fresh. The past two times I was there, the bagels were pretty hard by 1pm. Otherwise, this place is amazing!

The store has been sold! Many of the same people still work here. But the menu has been cut back a lot. The 1 bagel I went for pf course was sold out. Which has only happened to us once that I remember. And that was over a holiday. The tuna melt is really our favorite for lunch.

Though I moved out of the area, anytime I am close by I have to stop by and grab a tuna salad on an everything bagel. It shows how reMARXable this place is when I recognize workers who have worked here since I was a kid! Keep it up!

Very fun local establishment...Fresh bagels complimented by a nice staff who care about service and food quality. I go there 2 to 3 days a week on my way into work, and its always a nice ay to start the day.

This is my first visit there - I had a high expectations to taste their bagels since they had an outstanding reviews on Google. Unfortunately, the customer service was obsolete - the gentleman who took my order, kept sighing because I wanted one bagel of each flavor, his attitude was murky from the start. However, I surely understand that one may have a bad day for whatever the reason is. Ancillary, I gave them two stars because all bagels that I ordered were very dry and hard to eat. I am not sure if this is their style of making bagels or if there were issues on that specific day that made them to turn like this. Anyhow, I gave these bagels to a homeless person. I’m disappointed that neither the food or service were up to par.

Such good bagels and so many options to choose from it’s perfect for anyone. Kinda random but they have the best cream cheese to bagel ratio and the tomato vegetable soup is so good with the little dried bagel they have for sides. I never knew strawberry bagels existed until now and such good Jalapeño cream cheese and bagels. Cute retro vibes and wall of history is pretty cool. Recommended for sure.

INCREDIBLE BAGELS!! I bought a dozen (baker’s ☺️). Put them in my freezer and I look forward to having one DAILY. The plain bagels I got were wonderfully imperfect, (I actually like them a little dark) and they have the perfect crunch when toasted AND a wonderful slightly salty taste on the outside and oh my god I just ran out... MARX NEEDS TO COME TO KY!! I live in northern Kentucky and work at the J. I’ll be stopping by after work very soon... YUMMY!!!

Food fantastic and service was excellent and efficient.

Havent been to Marx for quite a few months. I believe they were still under previous management/ownership. My impressions today include the following:The restaurant needs some cleaning. Especially the bathrooms and the glass in the entryway.The employees seem less attentive to detail. Straws, utensils and napkins had to be requested. Also, I have been eating here for over 40 years, and today I was disappointed in the tuna salad for the first time ever. The same quality ingredients were used, but the tuna salad had various sized lumps throughout, and this was not expected or enjoyable to eat. Hitting dry tuna lumps is not nearly as good as is a consistently well-shredded and mixed tuna salad.I know that the pandemic has forced a lot of changes on us, and am sure this has been extra tough on restaurant workers. I just hope that the place that sells something I crave enough to drive 25 miles to get can maintain some normalcy and doesnt make any big changes that will cause disappointment in the future.

Marx Hot Bagels is the place to be at lunchtime. They have a great selection of sandwiches also bagels and Hala and even smoked salmon and Herring in sourcream sauce or wine sauce. Plus a great variety of bagels you can purchase on your own. And excellence cookies.

Amazing food! I saw so many things I have not seen elsewhere, some of which are not bagels so that there is an excellent variety. I also witnessed some great and efficient service overall. Honestly, my observations came while working at this place. I only regret that I have no photos to add as I have not visited in a number of days.

Always a nice and warm place to come to. The food is always good and reminds of grandmas home. Staff is friendly and personable.

I used to lived in Cincinnati and moved to Indiana. I’m still love their bagels! Every time I go there and pick up my favorites bagels and bring it with me to home (2 hours away).

Best kosher bagels in town. If you havent tried them stop in theyre awesome. You can even stop in for lunch. Yes theyre open. Might go to place for bagels. Dont buy store-bought bagels theyre not the same. Kroger and Meyer dont even come close.

The tuna is superior to all others....If you havent tried it I suggest you do

Outstanding service and quality of food

I ordered carry out for lunch, Lox and Cream Cheese. It was delicious, the toppings were a bit over kill as you can see in the pic, and they charged me for capers. I was surprised, Bruegger’s doesn’t and their Salmon sandwich is cheaper. For two Lox bagels it’s was $22 at Marx. But perhaps it’s for all the toppings and the capers.I will have to do a side by side taste test of Bruegger’s vs Marx to determine if the hefty price at Marx is worth it.The dining room at Marx is a marvel of nostalgic pictures, posters and “stuff”. Their bakery looked pretty good and I haven’t found many places with fresh Challah bread. I want to bring my kids there next time, they’d like the old school counter seats and the quirky decor.

Fire bagel joint. I never got so much cream cheese on for an average cream cheese bagel order. Once we are breaking records this place must have the most signs per square inch. The jalapeno cream cheese made my mouth feel like fire. On the topic of fire, they serve fire tuna. Dont forget to try the strawberry and fruit bagels. Super friendly staff as well. Overall an above average fire experience.

Not as good as I remembered from the one in Roselawn years ago.

Food is good, but they are incredibly slow. Make sure you have plenty of time to stop in. It wont be a quick trip.

Great bagels, real people, fun place

I love stopping in on Monday mornings with my boyfriend. Its a thing we started awhile back. Not only do we get to have couples time but the bagels are the best in Cincinnati!

My first visit here. All I can say is WOW! Never seen such variety of bagels. I tried strawberry, blueberry, everything, pretzel bagel and cinnamon raisin. Excellent New York style! Be sure and try the Tuna salad with fresh celery and carrots which was outstanding. I hear the Egg salad is excellent as well but did not try it. Also had cinnamon Apple as well as little Lox Cream Cheese and they were equally tasty. Really wanted to try one of the many cookies but was still stuffed from Thanksgiving. Be sure and ask for Bridget. She was so nice and helpful and even gave us 13 bagels for the price of 12. They also have bagel sticks too.

If youre in the Cinci area, ya gotta stop by Marx! Amazing variety of bagels- I got the tomatoe one which went great with melted Swiss cheese and onions. The place is totally cool with pics, sayings, plaques, etc., going back to the 50s & 60s, with the best music from that era playing in the background. Great food... great prices... great spot!

We like a lot eating out. Last night we arrived in this magnificent place which friends told us about. We enjoyed a delightful evening there with exceptional dishes and a well-trained team and an impressive chief cook. We put this fine restaurant in our phone list and we will certainly come back very soon. We highly recommend.

I ordered a toasted sesame bagel with butter, but was given peanut butter on it instead... I was bummed, but I ate it anyway. There give you 13 bagels when you buy a dozen. Restrooms were nice and clean today! Fast service. Eating inside or outside at this location.

The bagel place is about the same as years ago especially when the bagel man ran it. The only concerns and problems that I have is now the people that work there can have an attitude with the customer and nothing is said to them about it. I was not a big fan of how I was dismissed today by one of their employees and was not given the opportunity to vet with a manager about it. It makes me wonder if I do want to come back.I had a few minutes to reflect back on what happened and one of the young ladies who is the lead person since the manager had to step out made it a point to come back to the table and apologize for the way that I was treated. now this is what kind of restaurant I remember. The young lady still needs to be taking in the back and explain how even though she might be new the customers here arent and she needs to be a little bit more attentive and listen to what theyre saying rather than just dismiss them. Heads up and thumbs up to the girl/manager or lead person that came back to talk to me. I will continue coming to one of my childhood familiar places

Cant believe we had never been here before! Expansive selection of delicious bagels and toppings. Staff is very friendly. Prices are low. The location has a retro diner feel. This locally-owned establishment is going to be one of our new favorites.
