Super cool place. Employees are helpful and laid-back. They have tapestries, body jewelry (including beautiful plugs), video games, incense, movies, music, novelty items... A surprisingly vast collection for a relatively small store (in comparison to some other geek/nerd supply stores). I bought my best friend a giant Zelda Windwaker poster here, and she loves it. Been a fan of this establishment for many years. Definitely worth a visit.

This is one of the best places to go for finding used media in the Twin Cities! Their prices have gotten much better than they were a few years ago. The only real downside of this place is if you are trying to trade-in products. They will not give you very fair/competitive prices for your trade-ins. The staff is good for the most part.

I just have to stop by this store whenever Im in the neighborhood- always puts me in a good mood as soon as I walk through the door. Tucked in a modest little strip mall, Discland has those little hidden gems as well as a nice, genuine, helpful staff. No pretentious hipsters here.They know their music, games, movies- everything. Stores like these are a dying breed. Support them if you have a few bucks to spare.

Had pretty much everything, super cool place. The staff is nice and helpful. The disk cleaning is cheap and very good. Id recommend this place to any person who likes retro gaming, movies, modern gaming and more.

Store closing sale unfortunately. Still have a large DVD/Blu Ray selection, but a lot of the gaming materials have been picked clean as of 3/17/18.This was a great spot for random movie and game finds, along with with friendly and helpful staff. Will be sad to see this place go.

Love this place. They had Final Fantasy 9, 7 and 8 all in one day and I got Crash team racing for free with some deal. Great service, looked through all my discs to make sure they were playable. Support this local business, better than Ebay by a margin.

The store is a retro gaming store, so its somewhat like a pawn-shop for gaming. While the store had a lot of items, the selection of favorite titles was very low, and the games were not sorted very well. I spent a long time looking through games simply because I wasnt sure if there was a diamond in the rough.They have plenty of hardware though, and you can get a replacement console or handheld there. The staff was friendly and welcoming.

Its a good place If youre looking for retro games, vinyls, or old dvds that you would have to order online, they also have a bunch of just random things to discover there. Theyre also really helpful when it comes to returns. My only complaint is they could do a little more research on some of the products theyre selling.

Always and awesome place to check out; plus Ive found some gems there like an original pressing of Dark Side of the Moon and an authentic version of Introducing... The Beatles, not to mention Im Ready to Die on vinyl. Love it.

Have been there a few times and a friendly staff but this last time really did it for me. I went to do a trade in and was offered $70 for a $200 system and $25 on $150 in games the prices they gave me were for in store credit. . (yes I did my research and these prices are what they actually sell for) Took it somewhere else and received 120 percent more then what they offered me. however the store is clean and family friendly. lots of prices on used systems and some games are high though.

Found an item Ive been looking for for a while and the item was posted in the cabinet at $69.99. When it was taken out of the cabinet the sticker on the back of the item (which couldnt be seen from the outside) said $99.99. When I asked the clerk about it, she said that $99.99 must be the correct price. She didnt apologize, didnt check the POS to verify the price, she simply dismissed me and the issue. I drove 50 miles to get there and its the last time I will.

I usually go to Discland for collectibles, video games, or just get bored and go. Ive been coming here since about 2008, so about 9 years and have never had a bad experience. When I find a game somewhere thats quite pricey, I go to Discland and get it for 20, 10, or 5 dollars cheaper for what other sellers are selling it for. They have great band merch, associates are friendly most of the time. I see the owner at concerts all the time, handing out his photography and Discland cards. Sweet store. Would put it in my top 5.

Sadly they are going out of business after the owner failed to sell off the business for the price he wanted. Thats a shame. I enjoy unique stores and found this place fun. Many people will miss it. Their prices on music CDs and DVDs where kinda high in an age where you can get a movie on DVD for a buck. BUT... if you needed a certain title or albums fast and easy, AND you didnt want to wait for it to come in the mail from an online store, than this store was your best bet. TV series box sets were hit or miss on value and availability. (-minus a star) for damaging the box sets with those cursed security devices. If you have ever been to HOT TOPIC and enjoyed yourself, then this was your version outside the mall. Discland you will be missed.

Only place in town that had an atari 7800 when I needed it to complete my collection. Went on in and the guy helping me offered to hook up the console so that I could test it before buying. Great customer service from beginning to end. If only you guys werent so far from where I live...

It is closed now. It was wonderful with everything you could ever want from Vinyl to games. It was part of music history and now closed down. Hopefully it comes back again someday

Stumbled upon this place while eating next door. Super cool stuff in there. Kind of on the expensive end, I typically buy my used video games on Amazon or ebay for up to half as much as they had in store. Had lots of old video games for my vintage counsel that is never heard of.

Ive bought some cool games from here in the past. My main draw to the place is their fun collection of nerd gear, collectibles, and incense.

This place is pretty cool. They have a ton of crazy things you were never looking for, but want. I think theyre closing which is a real bummer. You can find music, used games, consoles and a bunch of random things youd never think about.

I use to be a loyal Discland customer and I would go in to find deals on video games (which was awesome). Unfortunately just recently I went in to buy a video game that was marked at 15 dollars and I was going to buy it for that amount until Sam, one of the associates/managers of the store (who happens to be a nice, sociable, and helpful person) saw the price on this game and went and got Kyle (who is the owner of the store) and told him this game is under marked. Kyle took the game I was going to buy to the back to research the price on the game. He came back about 30 seconds later and told me it was now 40 dollars. I objected to his increasing the price as I was about to buy this game but he didnt seem to care. I therefore did not purchase the game. I have been going to that store for roughly 2 years (maybe more), and I have never had this experience at this store or at any store. I found what Kyle did was very unethical, distasteful, and very unprofessional. I will not be a returning customer.

Its unfortunate they are going out of business. We need businesses like this but thjngs have changed and I am sure its just not profitable anymore. Friendly staff, good parking. This place will be missed.

Love this store. Its hard to find a lot of places like this anymore, especially in the suburbs. They have EVERYTHING from CDs to records, DVDs, BluRays, even VHS at great prices. Im kind of hurt right now. I bought Pokemon Emerald for $60, which I was fine with. After beating the game I wasnt able to access certain features because the game I bought was an illegal copy. I didnt know until I beat the game then looked into it and the return policy was void.

Im from Fargo, ND and Ive been to Discland twice within the span of a year. I love going to Discland for a few main reasons. Theyre prices are fair. Sometimes slightly higher than would prefer to pay for used music CDs, but if your buying a disc they will typically check it for any scratches and buff it before you leave. The staff is competent. If you ask them to try to find you a game or a disc theyll try their damnedest to find it or otherwise offer to have it shipped in if its not in stock. The final thing ill mention is the variety. They have all sorts of media types. From Music, to DVDs, Cartridges of all types, and a crazy amount of retro gaming accessories to boot. If you are a geek/audiophile/gamer or just a human being in general you should check out Discland!

Ive been visiting Discland for over 15 years! Im always greeted by friendly staff and treated like a valued customer. This is an amazing place to find rare & current vinyl, cds, dvds and video games. This is my go to place for birthdays, weddings and the Holidays! Go check it out!

Lots of random stuff. Went particularly to check out their video game selection. Felt really sparse and overpriced (beyond normal). Music and video selection seemed much better though.

Terrible high prices. 5 -8 for used DVDs!?!? Used Blu rays 8-20 !!!! I once had to deal with a horribly pretentious and rude young Asian hipster that seemed like I interrupted her pseudo intellectual conversation at the front counter with another employee when I asked for help. She was very rude and this place isnt worth going to. Go to cheapo.

I love Discland. I think the best part about them is their employees, who are always helpful and friendly. On the rare occasions when they have not had what i was looking for, theyve always offered to have it ordered for me.The selection is very good, considering that it is predominantly a used store, and they typically have new games/cds/dvds on their release date...If its media, Im probably buying it from Discland.

They have good stuff there I been there since 2009 , Im surprised that they have a Xbox. I like the smell of the store strong they check the disc for scratches or marks super nice games and employees they also sell good stuff like toys, consoles,games, CD;s, movies,etc. Love this store

They also have the usual record store hippie fare and a gargantuan selection of Otaku and Nerd goods, from DVDs and BluRays to games and collectables!! Holy cow!!And...the prices! Ive never seen such amazing and low prices for goods of this nature anywhere. And the customer service is great; nobody heckles you asking if you need help finding anything...and everyone is super-friendly, too!!Skip eBay. Go to Discland instead!!

If I could give this place 0 stars I would. I brought an Xbox to the counter to sell it I told them it works but does not have the cables after 20 minutes the guy went back and ask the store owner who is a short guy in his 50s with a 5oclock shadow his name is Kyle,Kyle always has a 5oclock shadow and he is a man of low morales and corruption I found out from this experience and some other reviews on here even citing him selling illegal merchandise, which is against The law too make profit off of.The man at the counter told me 3 dollars without even testing it to see if it works. So asked if I could speak too the other guy who was back there (who is Kyle which I know is the owner of the store) the man at the counter kept on trying to talk me out of speaking with Kyle instead of just agreeing with it saying he will probably give you nothing. Then he got Kyle to talk to me Kyle said with the cables 5$ without the cables 3$ or 5$ dollars store credit. I said can you at least give me 5 $ so that I can get some food. He said no. I said this one does not red ring, are you not low on Xboxes? Kyle chuckled and said I got tons of them. Disk Land used to be ok I shopped their for 8 years and he must of recognized me? And To not even give up 2 $ out of his fat pockets for a man to eat? And with 5 $ store credit you cant even get a dvd. Then Kyle had the nerve after I politely excepted the 3 $ dollar to talk to his employee an Asian woman at the front counter, saying I only am interested in whats on demand so sorry(behind my back to her). I said to him I Heard You!! But he could care less. The Better Business Bureau, or the government needs to tax this place he is making a killing and giving no charity for the poor.(by the way that Xbox could have been broken but they are going to sell it anyway). Ill let you be the judge of this place but if I were you Id shop at pawn America about 13 blocks down on lydale where Its 1$ or 2 $ for an dvd supposed too 10$ and the video games are 5-10$ supposed to 20$-100$ and they dont sell anthing illegal.

Big selections lots of products... However dont shop here for anime dvds they maybe one of the few places left that carries anime in MN but the majority of whats on the shelf is bootleg.Rest of the store is fine, good employees, kind and helpful, just the one problem.

Absolute garbage. Games are offensively overpriced and often in terrible condition. I bought a DS game (overpaid, but whatever) and it doesnt even work. Take your business anywhere else. Seriously.

This place is great for your retro-gaming needs. I bought a TV Games unit, still sealed in box for 7 dollars. It was actually a Famiclone! Bought an adapter, and now I can play NES games on it. Ive bought games for PS2, Xbox 360, ColecoVision & Atari 5200 there, and will always shop again there. Even won a Halloween costume contest they were having with my Vault 101 jumpsuit.

Received good and knowledgeable service. I will be back!
