This was my most disappointing visit to Big Dipper Creamery, only because they were out of Black Raspberry ice cream flavors. HOWEVER, what it did was to allow me to try others flavors. The strawberry and apple caramel flavors were also extraordinary! SO, even if they do not have your flavor of choice, you can be assured that whatever flavor(s) you select, YOU WILL NOT BE DISAPPOINTED!

This is our favorite local ice cream spot! Lots of excellent flavors to choose from. My almost 3 year old loves going there. We have tried many flavors and have enjoyed every single one! Portions and service are great!

I tried the non-dairy chocolate ice cream and was amazed to discover it was made with coconut milk! It tasted better than any chocolate ice cream I’ve had before or since.Great service, clean, and convenient location.

First time me and my partner were trying out this place and it was very packed. We saw a sign near the entrance with the flavors and there was one for dairy free and also gluten free options. I went to order and picked the first flavor but the second flavor I wanted was out. I couldnt see the sign anymore with how packed it was so I asked the worker what the other dairy free options were again. She informed me none of the ice cream was dairy free... I dont know what that sign was for, but it was extremely misleading. Since they already put the ice cream into the cup I just ordered it anyways. Since Im allergic I just saved the ice cream for another day for my partner. Giving 3 stars, because my partner did say the ice cream was good. Just disappointed about how misleading the sign was... :( So for anyone else with an allergy or following a certain diet theres no dairy free options here.

Simply the best ice cream parlor in the Twin Cities. The owners are a delight and are deeply involved in the community. They also hire the nicest high school kids to help run the shop. Nice people, great ice cream, and always a friendly welcome when you walk in the door.

Friendly staff and a huge assortment of delicious ice cream. Will have to come back to try more! Great portion sizes for the price, especially the sundaes!

This is our favorite spot for ice cream in Blaine, they have well marked Gluten Free options and usually have a dairy free option or two as well so all in the family can have a friendly treat! Lots of fun flavors and generous scoops and you can sample the goodness too if youre indecisive like me!

Ive been to many ice cream places in the area and this one is by far the best! They have over 40 different flavors of ice cream to choose from and endless toppings! My favorite is the banana split. You get to choose 3 different flavors of ice cream from their selection and 3 different toppings; its great for sharing. Cheaper and reasonable pricing than most.

I got 2 scoops, one of the bubble gum and one of the apple caramel. Really delicious!

Listen ice cream hands down is a 5! But the reason I gave 4 is because of price. I can get a pint elsewhere for $5-6. Not to mention they arent that generous in the pint. They could at least put a few scoops over ,no they literally fill to top so the top can fit. But again the icecream is amazing my personal favorite Beach Bum..

Its great to see employees wearing masks and gloves (sometimes). But, sadly, I didnt see any customer wearing one. It seems the management cares more about the customers than the employees. Better learn from other states...another shutdown of non essential businesses may be in the horizon......

I’m pretty confident this is the best ice cream I’ve ever had the pleasure of enjoying. I will be back weekly for sure. Extremely creamy and so many options. The only downfall was that they are working with peoples food and I didn’t see any masks or gloves being worn during this pandemic. I would only make that recommendation as someone who is considered ‘high risk’ it made me nervous.

Love this place!! Ice cream is second to none and when we want a sweet treat it is the preferred destination. Today I took my wife, kids and kids friends and enjoyed perfect ice cream on a hot day. After we finished enjoying our ice cream my 10 year old son asked the the young man behind the counter for a glass of water. To my dismay he said ”we could buy a bottle for a dollar”. I was dumbfounded as we have never not received a plastic cup of water when requested. I left feeling extremely discouraged and wondering if I would ever go back. As we packed into the car and we’re about to leave her comes the young man running towards us with a glass of water for my son. He apologized and stated “he was new and was not sure what the policy was on whether he could give a glass of water when they sell bottles of water”. My guess is the owner was on hand and overheard the conversation and immediately sent the gentleman out, through the emergency exit, with a glass in hand. I was so impressed with whoever was in charge to send their employee after us to apologize. They could have chalked it up as a learning experience but instead went the extra mile to right a wrong. Well done and expect to continue to see us again.

Delicious ice cream! We had them cater at our wedding July 2019 and it was a hit! Their ice cream cart holds 8 flavors of ice cream. We definitely should have had them bring more than one tub for each flavor, which is what they recommended, because it went so quick (we had 170 people). Great ice cream for a great price!

This is by far the best ice cream shop around! They have an amazing selection of flavors and awesome staff! Favorites in our family include Birthday Cake and Strawberry Cheesecake. Love that you can get a waffle cone with no up charge.

Love Big Dipper! The ice cream is really good. I love that theyre a local, family owned shop and make everything in house. I always prefer to support local vs chain shops especially when theyre as yummy as Big Dipper. They also have many flavor options too.

Tonight after dinner in this 18degree Minnesota cold weather. We are craving ice cream 😂!!! I have live so close to this place almost three years and tonight was our first visit. So fresh and not overly sweet. We had banana flavor for our toddler I had mint chocolate chip and my husband strawberry cheesecake with cone. Love how well portion there scoops are and friendly smiling girl who work tonight as well!!! It was so Awesome good ice cream!!! This will be our favorite many places to go!!!!

This place is a five minute walk from my home and we go often. The ice cream is so fresh and there are so much flavors to choose from. I love the blueberry flavor and mocha!

Felt like a family run home made ice cream place where the kids can run up and down the display case excitedly looking at all the different flavors. It was good, not commercial like most other options around, come here if you want something different. Friendly service.

Plenty of great flavors. Id put them up against Izzys any day. The summer-only Tropical (Orange/Pineapple/Coconut) or Carmel Apple are fantastic, but my personal favorite is the White Cherry (with or without nuts). If youre in Blaine for a game at the Sports Center, or for some other Im sure valid reason, take the short trip up and give them a try.

This place is great. They make their own ice cream and have tons of delicious flavors. We had their ice cream at my wedding reception and it was a huge hit. He staff is so friendly as well! We highly recommend this place!

Flavors are done well, there is great variety and they dont measure-down their scoops! Cones, hot-fudge sundaes and more. Its also a very family friendly atmosphere where you can enjoy your treat and play some games.

Being new to an area and loving ice cream can pose a problem, but thanks to a quick Google search and a coupon we got in the mail, we narrowed our search and went to Big Dipper on a date. We were greeted by the owners son, who treated us very politely and gave us samples of everything that caught our eyes. Know that you can request samples, and that they can give you two half scoops of different flavors for the price of one. Great selection, atmosphere, a loyalty punch card, and delicious ice cream awaits you!

They have a huge selection of ice cream. It always tastes fresh and smooth/creamy. Staff is always polite and helpful. A nice location at Hwy 65 and 125th in Blaine.

My wife and I drive 18 miles one way just to get their ice cream. We usually go at least twice a month, and in between visits we take home their 1 1/2 gallon buckets to tide us over. We were excited to go to Big Dipper last night. We were sadly disappointed in a couple flavors, peppermin5 and butter toffee. They both had a powder consistency. If you changed your recipe you should change it back. Liked the old version better and there were no toffee, or candy pieces in the ic3 cream. Disappointed
