Great local music store that still sells used CDs and DVDs.

I wanted to sell old CDs, and they buy old CDs. They have a limit of 100 used CDs per day. Over 2 days I took in 200 CDs, and they bought 170 for a total of $80. Thats about 47¢ each. I honestly doubt that I could have averaged a notably better price if I had sold them elsewhere. So an obsolete technology that had been sitting in my basement for 20 years, which gave no value to my life, suddenly had a value of 47¢ each. I am satisfied.

Lots of great CDs, The guy at the front helped us find the J. Cole ones. A little bit more expensive that I was looking for, about $16 a CD but expected because they’re classics.

Was great at one point. Seems to be going more mainstream. In the past had a good stock of real punk and hardcore bands. Now hard to find new albums of bands such as Suicidal Tendencies, Madball, Ignite, Sick Of It All and such.

Love this place. Its my go to place for everything music! I highly recommend this place to anyone looking for rarity and reasonable prices. And experience a piece of yourself before everything online.

This cheapo is amazing and here is why, hugest metal selection in the state. I always find what I am looking for and what I never knew I was looking for.Their special ordering is great as well, when other places say they cant get this cheapo gets it 97% of the time, that other 3% is because it is out of print.Other then the metal section, the store is huge and houses a massive racks of modern rock, classic rock, and everything else. So if your looking for anything or nothing go here, you wont be sorry, also support local record stores because Amazon doesnt need your money when it comes to music and whats more fun then flipping through racks of great music?

Looking for a trip to the past? Cheapo offers a wide variety of retired media and memorabilia. It can be mistaken for a drug store or convenience store driving by because of the outdated branding. However, step inside and prepare to be amazed. They sell DVDs, records, cassettes, posters, and more. If they would invest in decent marketing, updated branding, and an updated website, I see this place growing since nostalgia has been a trending topic lately. Go, Cheapo!

Still a great store after all these years. If you still like to own your music and/or movies there is a better chance youll find what you want here than anywhere else in town - especially if youre looking for something thats been out for more than a month or two.I recently picked up a few 3D BluRay movies here used; this is about the only place in town that had any at all.They dont have a searchable electronic inventory but thats the name of the game here.

A majority of their new vinyl is warped because they have it carelessly leaning on other records in the bins.

An excellent store with a wide array of different media options although a bit more expensive than the other locations. For some reason this store runs a bit higher in their pricing though you might be able to find more at this location. Operated well with solid workers and organized extremely well.

Cheapos is a great place! Albums, cassettes and CDs. My escape back to the 60s, 70s and 80s.You wont be disappointed!

Due to staff at this location - I stopped shopping here years ago. The Snelling location has a much more welcoming vibe and staff treat people with respect. Cant recommend Blaine location due to the many bad experiences I had at the hands of one particular staff person.

This was my first time at cheapo , I went to the store located in Blaine. The store has a huge selection of vinyl , CDs , cassettes, movies , t shirts, and other misc. objects for sale. It had everything that I thought it would and more. The employees were very nice and hardworking. I will definitely be going back very soon! I loved it!

I never thought Id feel this way toward a music store but, with technology the way it is now it just isnt very convenient to go physically flipping through countless cds hoping to find a gem.It does feel good when you do find a missing artifact for your collection but it doesnt happen all too often. It is fun but the payout doesnt usually justify spending hours looking without much finding.The decline of ppl who actually buy physical music has made the selection of used material very slim as well. I know I wont ever need something so bad as to buy a new copy.This store is like some other stores, they have people there who may possibly help you with a question or ring your transaction up but, each time Ive been to this one staff kinda sticks to themselves. Not that Id expect a Bestbuy type of experience though, it is after all a dying format.So all that said. The basics.1. I do like the opportunity of looking at a product in my hand.2. The prices arent enticing enough to draw me back regularly.3. Not much for employee ambition.4. Ever present but expected smell of basement.5. They used to let you test used music, not sure anymore since anything can be looked up and played on your phone in seconds.There is more to say on how I feel but, this has been too wordy since the 1st sentence.Thanks for reading, if you did and.. Im amazed at the selection at this particular Cheapo Records. Thought it would be all Bon Jovi and Journey, but theres LOTS of good vinyl, and a TON of cassette tapes! Its great fun treasure hunting here.

Paid a couple visits here recently and thought their selection was great despite them having seemingly no Ramones albums. They have some cool shirts and posters in addition to the music. I did go here a few years ago, and got almost nothing for a big box full of used CDs, so that is an issue.

Very pleased with the helpful service as a first time patron and will definitely be back when I have more time.
