So here are your expectations of this place. You may need to add a little salt and pepper to certain items because a lot of cliental is older and needs light salt. Easy fix, just add salt. We had great service from Tracey but I had a disgruntled person with me that was predetermined to not like the food. The food we had was good and I had no complaints about either one. My disgruntled person didnt like anything so to the owners Im sorry but I did leave Tracey a tip. The food at this place is good and isnt like the old Applebarrel food. The food is homemade for the most part and the owners do care about you when you come in and will do anything they can to make it right. If you havent tried them lately then please do so and also give The Great Oasis, thats in the same parking lot, a try. Both places have homemade and fresh food. I needed to make sure the owners know that I at least appreciated the food and service. Great people at both locations and I at least will come back.
The food was pretty good. We went on mothers Day so it was rather busy. I was satisfied, we started with fried green beans they were delicious, I had catfish & baked potato, the baked potato was hard. My son had chicken fried steak and his girlfriend had chicken tenders she did not like her tenders and my son said the chicken fried steak was pretty good. For the 3 plates, appetizer two teas and a water it was $54 before tip. I will be giving it another try probably when theyre not so busy.
Huge variety of choices. Breakfast, lunch and dinner available. The service abit slow. Waitress needed to check on us more. She was a little forgetful. Interior old and outdated but keep clean. The fried green tomatoes appitizer was not very good. The tomatoes were not cooked enough. They were also cut too thin. The cheese sticks were hot and tasty. The chicken crapes with hollandaise was ok but the sauce tasted off. Not my favorite. Too lemoney. Everything else in it was good. The french fries were not too skinny and cruncy and flavourful.
Servers are nice, tea was not fresh and they grill liver no flour just in case you have never had it that way. Not my favorite. We had a party of 6 and we were there at 630pm on a Sunday. It wasnt very busy. They sent out a plain baked potato no butter or anything to go on it and we asked twice for butter and finally had to use the butter that came with the rolls. The jury is still out it was my sons birthday dinner and he loves the one further into Tulsa. I think I will try that one before I make the final verdict. Also there is a strange smell.
Good home cooking comfort food. You cant go wrong here. Breakfast, lunch, or dinner never disappoints. We can take our family of 6 without breaking the bank and there is always something for everyone.
First and last time! Ordered biscuits and gravy, it was absolutely awful. The gravy was almost cold, sausage used in the gravy was old sausage patties chopped up,the biscuits were burnt and dry. They were not good at all. I actually trashed them instead of eating them. Dont waste your money like I did. Im heading to Quick Trip now to get some that taste better and are actually edible.
Took my wife here for our 10 year anniversary for breakfast! Wow!! We were impressed. Best cafe/diner we’ve been to in long time. Food was delicious. Server outstanding. And affordable price. Highly highly recommend!! Will be back!!
This particular Apple Barrel is always good with friendly staff and service. The food always comes out quickly with super big portions. Its all-American diner style consistent food. The breakfast is really good for a diner style cafe. They have many many options to choose from if you are the kind of person who likes options. Even if you are picky, there is guaranteed something on the menu for you ( note: vegan options). Its always clean and the staff is friendly. The owners are nice and work really hard. They really serve to please. They have everything from breakfast to dessert and more. This is always a solid choice for breakfast or family dining.
This was surprised me. The waitress we had was friendly and took good care of us. The portions were hearty even for lighter fare. I will be back if in the area.
This would be our second time trying Apple Barrel and we were still disgusted. The first time was the Tulsa location and we received turkey bacon that wasnt cooked in any way. The waitress swore up and down that it was and said we were wrong. Didnt offer to replace the meal or even take it off our ticket as my husband obviously didnt eat it. The second time we thought we would try the BA location and hopefully have better luck. NOPE. Not only did we receive the wrong food but the Turkey bacon was yet again, not cooked at all. I have cooked Turkey bacon countless times and I know what it looks like cooked. This is NOT it. As you can obviously see. So, I guess if you want to go just make sure to not order anything with Turkey bacon unless eating it raw is your thing.
This place takes sooo long😡 The food is okay if you actually like old traditional food. But the wait took 50 minutes for them to take our order and to give us our food. Dont go if you have no time.
Suggest The Hamburger Steak Smothered Onions & Mushroom Very Good Brown Gravy Add Real Mashed Potatoes And Choice Of Soup Or Salad. Chicken Tortilla Was Good As Homemade. Peach Ice Tea Good.
This location isn’t anything extraordinary but it’s not bad either. Some other locations are better than this one, but even their sub par days are better than some normal days at other restaurants!! Good place!
Came here for dinner last night. Food was bland with minimal effort put forth. The medium rare steak we ordered was cooked medium WELL and also lacking in flavor. Coleslaw tasted like it was turning sour or old. Won’t be back here for dinner. Prices were good had the food been better.
Food was good, but I thought the pie crust on the strawberry rhubarb pie was a little thick (for my taste). Service however was great! Nice staff, accommodated our questions about the menu and kept up on drink refills and clearing the table despite it being busy at the time. Kids ate up the spaghetti and my husband loved the chicken fried chicken. I liked the chicken noodle soup too.
Best apple pies Ive had since we lost my mother and grandmother. Worth every penny of the $25 cost. Its huge and mouth watering. And theyre home cooking style meals are the reason my wife and I go there when we need a date night.
First of all, the servers are always pleasant and cheerful, like they genuinely enjoy their job. Super knowledgeable about a large menu with many delicious options.The management team is always walking around the restaurant delivering food and coffee, while checking on people and asking how they are.The food is fantastic, and a great bargain. The sweet and savory is a favorite for my kids, which includes mounds of bacon, eggs, hash browns, and a ‘mini’ (it’s not mini) cinnamon roll, all at a great price!We can’t go anywhere as a family and leave this full and happy, with leftovers and not at a huge cost.Absolutely love this place!!

Thr store has a nice wholesome feeling and the workers are very personable and friendly. My parents and i enjoy breakfast here often because its just down the street. The only complaint is that the tables have ads all over them which is a little obtrusive, But I understand needing to pay the bills so I give it a pass.
This being one of several Apple Barrel cafes in the area, I will say this... theyre consistent with their food. The food is almost always on point (Ive had couple misfires), hot, tasty and filling.Service is always great, with the servers being attentive and friendly.On my most recent stop at this particular location, I was looking for a bite of breakfast while The Wife was having a minor procedure done. Since #CovidNonsense, I wasnt allowed in the waiting room, the building, and barely even the parking lot, so I needed something to bide the time.I ordered coffee and the Snow Ball, which is biscuits, eggs, sausage all covered with gravy and a side of hash browns. This is pretty much my regular ABC breakfast choice, and it always hits the mark.As with the other locations, service was great, to match the food.Theres a reason theres several Apple Barrel Cafes around the area.... its because they deliver the goods.

Why would you put a photo of a 2 egg, one meat, hash browns and toast breakfast but NOT list it on the menu? Especially when it has to be the most commonly ordered diner item in the world...we decided to leave and not done after paying for our drinks.
The food was ok. My issue was with the waitresses attitude. She used the we are short staffed excuse for every failure. Then she had an attitude the entire time. Even slammed our plates of food down in front of us.

Step aside Cracker Barrel, Apple barrel has entered the ring. Better food, friendly staff, prompt seating and youre not forced to walk through a retail maze of knick knacks to be seated or pay your bill. Also enjoy supporting local family owned businesses.
Food and service was amazing. Omletes, pancakes and hash browns were on point (our family shared). Do yourself a favor and get biscuits and gravy as one of your sides... youre welcome. 😉

Good place for some reasonable food ! Love their chili and burgers! Just dont expect anything too good from their pancakes. Not worth the dissatisfaction of wasting money. Also try their egg skillets they are amazing. Nice staff and good prices

Food was okay. My waitress took her mask off to carry our food and speak to us. None of the kitchen staff were wearing masks and I saw one man touch his nose without gloves and go back to cooking on the grill. I’m thoroughly grossed out and wouldn’t even finish my food.

My family and I fell in love with Apple Barrel in Bixby and were so excited to find out that Broken Arrow has one too! So last night we stopped in for dinner and they werent busy at all. Maybe 4 table had customers.. We walked in and were seated fairly quickly. Once we sat down we were NEVER approached again... We sat there for over 20 minutes without anyone even taking our drink order or acknowledging that we were there.. I tried to wave one of the waitresses down and nothing.. The waitress that was waiting the table close by saw us and never came over.. My family and I got up and left and again no one said anything to us. We were very disappointed in the Broken Arrow location... :(
Unique french fries were extra tasty. Dessert was awesome. We split apple pie with ice cream. Unenthusiastic server is the only reason we didn’t give 5 stars.Great prices...the amount of food you get is more than enough. I normally get a box to go. If you love chicken fried steak they have the biggest I have seen ever...fills the whole plate.

Terrible service and the food was cold. They served my daughter a rotten egg and all my food was cold. When I asked for the egg to be replaced. The girl brought a new egg but then said. Does this make you happy. I thought for a second because it came with annoyance, but I felt it was rude considering I didnt order rotten eggs or cold food and I didnt complain about that at all. They used to be solid but are really showing thier disconnection with customer service.

Used to be my family’s favorite restaurant. Service started going real bad about a year and half ago and we stopped being regulars. We would go occasionally but service never improved. Wife recently went there with a group of friends and said it was terrific. So today I go there for breakfast. Get seated at table waitress asks me what I would like to drink and what would I like to order. I asked for a menu first, I ordered breakfast with ham slice and sausage patties eggs over easy. Owner brought out plate and rapidly left. Eggs were over hard, no hashbrowns I had to get up and go to him and inquire if they did come with hashbrowns he agreed they did and said he would bring me some. A few minutes later he set hashbrowns down, But left before I could ask for butter. I again had to get up and go to kitchen after trying to get a waitress’s attention for several minutes. As I was putting butter on hashbrowns I noticed my sausages were links instead of patties. I didn’t care as I was hungry, butter wasn’t melting on hashbrowns so I cut up everything and mixed it all together. The ham, sausage,egg and hashbrowns butter would still not melt. So I tasted it food including eggs were room temperature toast was hotter then food. At that time waitress finally checked on me and ask if I was happy with how everything turned out . I said no and pointed out issues including the slabs of unmelted butter. As she offered to replace it but advised me that they were real busy. I said no just give me my check so I can go elsewhere to eat. I will not be back for a while and then if and only if there parking lot is empty. As I left waitress made sure to say “I hope you are feeling better” not sure what that meant but I took it from her tone to be sarcastic

I have five picky kids and everyone was able to get what they wanted and they all enjoyed the food.

My husband ordered a steak, medium rare. When he got it, the steak was basically still mooing. He sent it back and it took at least 10 minutes to get it back, and it still wasn’t right. My hamburger tasted like one of those frozen burger patties you can buy at Walmart. I will say the fries are good, the wait staff is amazing and it’s just about the only restaurant that still sells Pepsi.

The staff were all wearing their masks around their chins if they bothered wearing a mask at all. Our server didn’t have a mask on and kept reaching across the table and getting super close to our faces anyway. Kind of hard to enjoy lunch when I’m worried about getting covid from your staff. Won’t be coming back.

Wouldve left a 0 star if I could... customer service is sub par and I called for 7 minutes and he hung up on me when I went to place my order. Then the manager lady made excuses for why it happened and tried to say it wasnt their fault. Never going back

Me and a friend ate here. She ordered spaghetti and salad, I Philly cheese steak and tortilla soup. Spaghetti was upsetting, strange metal taste caused upset stomach after just 2 bites, Philly cheese steak very greasy over cooked bun not toasted and must ask for fries if you order soup or salad ,because you wont get any even if menu says order comes with it.

Horrible service. She forgot my pancake and then tried to give it to me togo. Never came back and checked on us. Had to get up and get a bottle of ketchup from another table so my daughter could eat her cheeseburger and French fries. Only had 1 cup of coffee because once she dropped off the food she never came back. I keep trying to give this place a chance but this happens everytime. We wont be back.
Food has gone down hill lately, but the service is always great.
