Takes the ignominious used car salesman epithet to a new low. Showed up ready to buy an RX 350 that ticked all the boxes. Was promised on the phone that this thing was super clean. Hopped in, drove great, was ready to move forward. But I started inspecting the outside, and there were a couple of significantly impacted dents and dings on the car. The rear fender seemed to be bent but was hurriedly told thats just a missing clip. Nope. Squatted down, the fender was buckled from impact. I was promised that all these issues would be fixed and was ready to move forward (though I was skeptical about one of the dents since it actually had been hit hard enough to bend the panel). As were doing paperwork, I ask to inspect the inside one more time. Again, Im dismissively told that the salesman walked the car and that the inside was clean and all good. Nope again. Pretty significant gash in the leather on the back of the drivers seat that was noticed the second the rear door was opened. The salesman of course acted shocked by this discovery. Needless to say I walked. Either the salesman didnt know his car, or even worse, was trying to shoehorn me into a damaged car at a premium price. The thinly veiled insinuation was then made that my expectations were too high. Call me old-fashioned, but when youre buying a luxury car expectations and level of respect SHOULD be high. Got it wrong again Lexus; horribly wrong.

Went in for a recall. Made appointment a week ahead of time for 7:30 on a Friday. Used the vehicle they offered while repairs were made and picked our car up a few hours later when they called to advise it was ready. Everyone was very courteous & friendly.

I shopped on line specifically looking for a Lexus GS F-Sport. In doing so, I found one at Lexus of Birmingham. Very clean, low miles, etc. I reached out via email and was greeted by the internet sales team with details and next steps. The team connected me with James Nelson who then set up the process for me to drive to Birmingham from Columbus, OH, meet up, test drive, get paperwork together, trade in my 2016 ES (for a very good price), and had me back on the road in a few hours. Full tank of gas and a fresh clean up. These folks even sent the floor mats that were missing from my vehicle to my house.Heres my point. The last 3 vehicles I have purchased were out of state from Lexus dealerships and worked through via the web. This experience, by far was the best and I would definitely work with the team again.

Ok, updating my previous review. I originally scored Tom Williams Lexus a 1 star because they closed for the weekend without calling me, leaving me without transportation. Since then, they have apologized several times and really gone out of their way to accommodate me. Im happy with the loaner, and they even offered to fully detail my car to make up for the mishap that occurred this weekend. Michelle communicated thoroughly with me afterwards. I’m very impressed with her sincere efforts. Everybody makes a mistake, but Tom Williams handled theirs with great care. Will definitely be going back!

We searched for a long time for a Lexus GX that fit our price range and mileage. We were so thrilled to find it in town at Lexus of Birmingham!! The staff at Lexus of Bham are all so friendly and kind, especially Berry. He answered all of our questions and had our car to us within the week! He is great and we highly recommend him!Though we love this place, we were not impressed with the interior detailing. There was still dog hair, dust, and even an old Tupperware under the seat from the previous owner. A week after we bought it, the brakes also started to squeal - even though we were assured they were in great working condition. We trust that Lexus of Bham would make it right but we just havent had time to make an appointment to get back out there and have them inspected.We took off the one star because of the poor detailing and squealing brakes, but we are still loyal to Lexus of Birmingham and trust their service. I was treated with the utmost respect and appreciation. I am a first time customer. I will certainly be back in the future and I highly recommend Clifton Payne Jr. Most car dealers give you the keys and your owners manual and good luck figuring out where everything is. Not with Clifton Payne. He walks you through the technical aspects of your new car and will answer questions long after you drive off of the lot. He has 30 years experience with Lexus. How many dealers can say that they have maintained their sales staff for that period of time. I am only beginning my experience with Lexus but Clifton says he hasnt ever had to apologize for a car that he has sold.

I inquired about a used car. The sale person sent me text message. I asked some questions and she answered them. A day passed by and I was going back over the car I had been considering. I wanted to check to see what kind of financing was available, so I messaged the sales person and she didn’t respond back. I thought maybe it’s her day off. When I visited this location on Tuesday and didnt get a good vibe, I should have followed my first mind which told me this establishment struggles with color. Staff in the lobby stared as if they were not use to African Americans coming inside the dealership. We got the feeling that on one wanted to be bothered. The salesman, Joe, seemed so unconcerned. In as much as I was given a card by Joe, on Tuesday, I decided to go back to the dealership. Huge mistake!!! Big!My brother and I were so disappointed when we returned on today. We even tried to request another salesman but that was brushed aside as we were told, Joe is good. I had my son, who I had planned on purchasing the car for, to come by and look at the car after he got off work. Well, he never got to see the car. Joe told us that the car was around back and the shed door would be up. We drove around the entire place and didnt see it. We decided to leave and as we were, we saw Joe coming back in the car. Really? Why not communicate better with us??My brother and I have purchased cars from the Mercedes dealership in Hoover and the one in Irondale and the service and treatment we received from them puts Tom Williams Lexus of Birmingham to shame. Its awful to see two dealerships that are within 5 minutes of each other are as different as night and day when it comes to customer service.Every low rating I have seen while looking at the reviews is followed by an invite to contact the manager directly. Why? What could he possibly say to undo the experience that we felt today? We were made to feel like we we were not welcomed at that dealership. In my opinion, he cannot say a word; however, he could start with training the staff to be courteous, to greet the customers, be fair and treat each person entering that establishment as a potential buyer. As it was stated many, many years ago and I quote, The time is always right to Do what is right. Key word being do. Tom Williams Lexus, what can you do to make a difference??? Waited 2 weeks to see a car that was featured on Carvana and other online sites. Picture was not the picture of car. Emailed online contact, and told him one car had gone through their 150 Inspections to certify the car I would get a email from online salesman. Well he emailed me Wednesday may 19 and stated car was ready. Told him I would be up Saturday morning. Well I drove 124 miles to Birmingham from auburn, just to see a car that had mower shaving on it. Dirty outside, inside dirty. Dog or cat hair throughout the interior and scuffs on hood, tires dirty, just not a way you would present a used $30k car to a buyer. Sad situation it was. I took 10 minutes looking at all the wrong things I saw about this car. My 17years in sales kicked in and I KNEW TOM WILLIAMS WOULD NOT HAVE SHOWN ME THAT CAR IN THAT CONDITION. SAD SITUATION FOR THOSE INVOLVED THAT CARED LESS ABOUT TOM WILLIAMS REPUTATION..NEVER GO BACK..MAYBE IT WAS A BAD DAY

Not what you would expect from an upper line car manufacturers dealer.Service writer needs some help in learning how to take care of customers. I guess because Im of African American descent my money isnt green. I walked around the lobby for about 5 minutes and nobody ever greeted me, which was okbecause everyone seemed occupied. Shortly after, the receptionist went to her desk, I asked her for assistance to look at a ES 350, she proceeded to say everyone was with customers and then pointed at a Nissan Versa and said, is this the car youre interested in? I told her no, an ES. She said she would send someone outside.Joe came out and was as uninterested in selling me a car as anyone Ive ever encountered. I asked him the prices of the two cars that I took most interest to (mind you I wanted to purchase TWO cars). He was extremely dismissive. When I realized that he didnt want to sell me a car, I asked, would you like for me to come back tomorrow? He said, that would be preferable as he disengaged me while playing with his phone.I walked out really disheartened and disappointed that my family was treated this way.

Very pushy and not very accommodating with my time constraints being that I’m a single mom that works full time. Tried to make me buy a car that they hadn’t yet fixed so they could meet the end of the month sales goals and seemed annoyed that I wanted it fixed first before I agreed to purchase. Messed up my paperwork requiring me to drive almost an hour round trip again to get it fixed. Not a great experience.

I have tried twice to purchase a used car from Lexus of bham and I will NEVER EVER go or look at anything they have. Worst customer experience Ive ever seen. They are all about the MONEY and thats all. Stay away. Now I did purchase from BMW and LAND ROVER and was treated fairly. Lexus did not even call me back about seeing if we could come to an agreement. If you see a car there dont bother they are the freaking RUDEST people I have EVER MET. I will go to Hennessy Lexus on Atlanta, very fine people there also if you notice they will not answer you back if it is a negative report to them. LOL

Not pleased. As U.S. Army Veteran & DOD Ret. I was very dissapointed due to the lack of communication, the vehicle inquiry process, and the sales consultant lack of knowledge or interest of the car. This is not our first time purchasing a vehicle. However, Our first and last time ever dealing with tom williams lexus. I have never experienced such unprofessionalism. I assume that educated established African Americans with car buying experience is intimidating. The inequity of treatment towards customers of color is OBVIOUS, BOLD, DIRECT and very unfortunate. I guess we should have used the Colored Entrance Only it is 2021. One gentlemen spoke today when we walked in, just one and this was the SECOND visit. The first visit was shocking enough, but we wanted to remain positive. CLEARLY, any Military Personnel, Fellow Gold Star Families and Veterans who wish to visit this dealer. Approach with caution. Keep an open mind, but watch for the dismissive attitudes and the I dont know reponses. Better yet, I strongly suggest shopping at a place that values respect, customer service, integrity, and fair business practices to ALL customers. Remember you are paying for a vehicle, not asking for a handout. So any/all questions you have concerning any vehicle, should be answered. BLUF: NOT impressed. NOT impressed with the sales consultant. Dealers atmosphere was very dismissive and unwelcoming. Dealer needs mandatory Ethics, Diversity & Inclusion training quickly!!!

I’ve been taking my car here for service since I moved to Birmingham over a year ago now. The customer service is always top notch. I will say I have a less common car, that also has aftermarket parts on it, so I’ve encountered some strange issues, but Sharon always does a great job to accommodate my needs!I brought my car in a few days ago because it was making a few strange noises, and they fixed up one of them right away, but I noticed another after I left. I called Sharon and she told me to bring the car back so they could take another look. She then arranged for me to test drive with one of their technicians (I believe it was Larry), so that I would be able to point out the noise to him. Once he heard it he almost immediately found the problem and they got me out of there in the same day with no extra charges since I had just brought it in.Definitely recommend this dealership and Sharon as a service advisor!

I set up an appointment in advance for my scheduled maintenance. A service member took my car as soon as I arrived, but it took 15 - 20 minutes before a service advisor called me to discuss what services would be performed and any problems I was having.The advisor indicated it would be about 1 hour for the service to be completed. I had already indicated that I wanted to wait.More than an hour and a half, my car was ready.

Went in for a recall at 7am on my 2019 NX that was supposed to take no more than 4 hours. I received a loaner and went to work. Hadn’t heard anything at 2 pm, so I called. Wasn’t able to get a human to pick up on the first call, so I called again and got to speak to my service tech whose update was she didn’t know when it would finish. I called back at 3:15 and spoke to her again and was told the car would be ready at 4:30. Got there at 4:30 and it wasn’t ready and she wasn’t sure when it would get done. Car was finally ready at 5:20…All this to say, I know delays happen when fixing cars, but set proper expectations for your customers, and don’t ever tell them the car will be ready at a certain time unless you know for sure.

My vehicle was towed to the Lexus of Birmingham dealership on 07/02/2021. My vehicle was almost immediately tended to by the service staff and the service representative Christina Rembert. Christina was incredibly kind, funny, and relatable. She made me feel very comfortable regarding my vehicle being assessed, and she offered any assistance that I needed. The two service guys (I cannot remember their names) who jump started my vehicle were very attentive in taking care of my vehicle. My vehicle had shut completely down, and none of my electrical functions were working. My vehicle arrived with the driver’s side window slightly down. These two gentleman recognized this immediately, and took extra steps to get the vehicle running (prior to the diagnostic being ran) so that the window could be raised to prevent my vehicle from being rained in. A brief description of these gentlemen is: a tall, very slim black guy with a slim face, and a shorter white guy with a ponytail and glasses. Big kudos to all three of these individuals, because they really renewed my faith in Lexus of Birmingham. I will definitely return for further servicing, as well as a future purchase. I initially came to Lexus of Birmingham in February of 2018 to purchase my FIRST Lexus after being a BMW owner for 9 years. The sales person that I dealt with, Joe Zeck, left me with a horrible impression of this dealership. He left me feeling belittled, and he was condescending. We had almost gotten to the final sale, before his poor customer service skills were revealed. As a result, I took my business to Nalley Lexus in Atlanta, where I was treated like a “rock star”. Following this experience I tried to prevent ever coming back to Lexus of Birmingham for any reason. However, I needed a local place to service my vehicle. As a result, I begin to deal with Ron Amerson as my service provider. Mr. Amerson has always been incredibly kind, funny, and patient. Needless to say, he was the first to restore my confidence in this dealership. And after yesterday’s visit, the three individuals that I mentioned earlier, solidified my future business with you all again. Actually, every time either me, or my husband have brought my vehicle in for servicing, we’ve always been treated kindly by all members of the service department. You all provide stellar service and have great people working in that department…….sales however???? I’ll reserve my comments 😊

Absolutely awful leasing experience!! I planned on buying or leasing another Lexus, possibly two (this weekend), but the salesperson and his manager tried to pull typical salesperson tactics that you would expect from lower-end car dealerships.#1. He only offered me payoff for my lease which only had almost half of the allowed mileage (18,000 miles when I was allotted 30,000). The car was in perfect condition and never wrecked. Then I told them I would go ahead and give them the keys and come back this weekend with my wife after we made a decision on which Lexus vehicle(s) we wanted to purchase/lease over the next couple of days.#2. Then more salesperson tactics came in to play where they tried to tell me the guy who can approve buying my lease, all of the sudden, just happened to not be in yesterday and that they could not call him! However, they kept pushing me to make a decision to put me into another lease which would allow them to take my car without this other guys approval. Total bull! They absolutely will give you the run around when it comes to buying back your car if you are not willing to buy or lease another car on the spot.Needless to say, never again will I buy from this dealership after being given the runaround and typical salesperson tactics!!Be prepared for them to reply to this review with some goofy excuse. I told them while I was there to be looking out for my 1 star review which would be coming there way and the salesperson and manager absolutely did not care!BY THE WAY, I took my Lexus to another dealership and bought something else and they gave me an extra $2k to boot on my car.Think hard before buying a Lexus from this dealership.

At this point, this is my last resort. I’m praying someone will finally contact me back after months of waiting to have a massive defect in the interior of all 4 door panels that was promised to be fixed in December of 2016 and still isn’t. I was told of 3 different “promised times”: January of 2017, Summer of 2017, and then by the end of 2017. I’m at a loss, and my next option is to reach out to corporate. I have left countless voicemails and left my name and number yesterday with no response. I pay good money for this car and have spent months and months driving around in a subpar vehicle. I’ll add pictures of this ASAP so everyone knows never to trust this dealership or their service department.

My Son Preston had a immaculately maintained 400 H. He took it in to be serviced for the hybrid components… Approximate $1200. About a month later, had hybrid issues again. Service department said potentially major issues… Quoted over 3000 of Labor... Basically I feel they took advantage of my son so that he basically would sell the vehicle to them for hardly anything. I have never had any service done anywhere that is over $3000 and I would think that they should have called me to explain why it would be that high... I am a Lexus fan but not of this service con job...

I just purchased my first lease thru Lexus of Birmingham, and they made the experience an easy and informative transition. I would like to send a big THANK YOU to Jerrod for his wonderful and informative customer service in helping me choose a car, but also getting me into the car I had picked out first choice. Him and Patrick were generous in allowing me to do my paperwork late that evening - so I could drive of in my new car for the weekend! Mediocre dealership. I have been a Lexus customer for years, and this is the worst Lexus dealership I’ve been to. Every time I call for service it takes years for them to simply pick up, and then I get transferred around until I end up getting someone’s voicemail. No one seems to be knowledgeable here.Not to mention I had a simple problem with my battery, I even thoroughly explained the problem to my service advisor, and still they had my car for a week, told me it was fine, the day I get it back it dies and I have to get the car towed back to the dealership. I will say after some long discussion with a manager they did cover the tow bill (they certainly didn’t want to), and that’s the only reason I’m giving 2 stars and not 1.Comparatively speaking, every other dealership I’ve been to has been so much better: always helpful, very quick to pick up their phones, and knowledgeable. If you’re going to get your Lexus serviced or purchase, find the nearest one to you that’s NOT this one.

Customer Service was HORRIBLE at Lexus of Birmingham. I made a 50 minute drive to test drive an IS because I am in the process of getting a new vehicle. We pull to the dealership and park. Theres a salesman assisting another couple so thats fine. Since we were so close to him I was expecting him to at least acknowledge us but whatever. After looking for about 10 minutes I decided to go inside the dealership to get a salesperson because I saw several looking out the door. I noticed the sign that said must have mask so I turned around because I didnt have one with me. A sales guy then walks out and walks right past us and doesnt open his mouth. I couldnt believe it. I will never spend my money in a establishment as such. I tried to call the manager and he never responded so heres a not so good review. Im highly disappointed in the service. Needless to say I went over to Audi and the service was incredible and I think I like the A4 & Q3 better than the IS now. I will be upgrading to one of the two soon.

Came in to look at a Lexus RC 350 F Sport. I was prepared to take delivery that day. Got pawned of from salesman to salesman. Salesman I ended up with did not even bother to do a presentation or demo drive. Never received a follow phone call or email. Guess I did not look like I could afford a Lexus. I ended up buying my Lexus RC F from a different dealer that gave me the VIP treatment. I will see what kind of treatment I receive when my 5k mile service comes up. At this point my expectations are very low.
