Several friends recommended Green Garage so I took My Mercedes SLK in for a simple problem. But the young guy in the office was not interested in adding hydro fluid for my convertible hardtop (I even had the fluid ) . He was really not friendly and tried to send me to another shop. Ill try Green Garage again when an adult is on duty.

Green Garage is excellent. The folks that work there are always so kind, efficient, patient and knowledgeable. They have always gone above and beyond to squeeze me in or to do whatever it takes to fix my car. I have a hybrid and it’s nice to have a garage that actually knows what they’re doing instead of someone just telling you they work on hybrids to get your business. We really love supporting local businesses rather than chains, and these guys at Green Garage make it easy. We have used a chain for oil changes before and ALWAYS needed something! These guys dont try to upsell, even when it would be easy to do so. We havent needed them for repairs on personal vehicles, only maintenance, but I trust them so much that we take work vehicles to them for maintenance, repairs, tires, everything! Green garage, these guys are great! I am a repeat customer. They have completed repairs or maintenance on our BMWs, the Mini Cooper, and our Honda Pilot. Never had any issues with any of the repairs. So the short story is I work on my car and have them service my wifes car. I do not want her stranded or put out in any way. They have always done quality work at a reasonable price and delivered on time. This led to work on each of the kids cars. Again quality work. Eventually they get my car too for the steering rack replacement. Always delivering good service at a fair price. Plus they are nice guys. Easy to talk with and personable. I hope you dont need a car repair but when you do, trust that these guys will tell you the truth, make safety first recommendations, and let you make the decision on what to do. They replaced an engine in my car for a fraction of the costs of the other places I got quoted from, with an engine the had a fraction of the miles and a year warranty. I have been going to Green Garage for over a year now and could not say enough nice things about this place. They are friendly, courteous, patient, and honest; I recommend them to ALL of my friends. When I got married, we took my husbands car in because I had such a great experience with them. We asked them to do a full workup and they identified that the previous owner of the car had been in a front end collision and we didnt even know! They explained each service and whether or not it was crucial, itemized each part they ordered, and even worked with me when I said I wanted to know which service to prioritize. I came by with a vibration in my car after going through a pothole hard - these guys got it diagnosed and fixed same day, reasonably priced and super courteous. Vibration totally gone.They also spotted that my battery had been installed incorrectly by the guys at Walmart while trying to diagnose the vibration and put a tie down on it to keep it in place same day, also at a reasonable price.Later I was confused by something on the invoice, and when I called in worried about something they had done, the shop manager took time to explain to me step by step what they had done and it made perfect sense. Literally could not be more impressed by these guys and will be going back whenever I need automotive help.

This is the only place I will take my vehicles to be serviced. They are honest, fair, and reasonably priced. The service is excellent and timely as well.

I have an older car from the late 90’s, and they handle it with a breeze. From a full overhaul of my suspension, to repairing oil leaks, and even just down to basic maintenance and oil changes, these guys will take care of your vehicles. Matt at the front desk will walk you through the process every step of the way, and keep things simple so those of us who are less mechanically inclined can understand. Overall, the service is top notch, fair, and quick. Cannot thank Green Garage enough for keeping my car running for years to come.

Honest, patient, and fair pricing. Called ahead to get estimate on repairs for my Prius (needed a new Odometer) and also had several issues too. For priced on everything and given an estimated time when they would be done. No hassle at all. Pay with cash instead of card for a lower price. Wish they had more staff so they could be faster with the process. Great place!

Reliable, fast, and friendly service.

This place uses text reminders for appointments, estimate, and invoice delivery. They diagnosed a few problems I had with my 150k car & advised on the what makes sense to spend my dollars on. (I have all my past service receipts, so I had an idea what they would come up with.) Matt was (masked) good at listening & relaying information. I did have to get part of the repairs done a few days apart due to limited parts runs by suppliers. Not their fault. Easier if you can leave the car early & pickup at the end of the day. They are pretty busy, so I may do the basic oil change & tire rotation stuff elsewhere.

They did a quote on my vehicle asked to see my quote from Range rover to determine what needed to be done. Nice customer service BUT IFFFF Range rover told me 1700.00 why would I pay anyone else 3700.00 for the exact same work and their the dealer. Much much higher

They didn’t solve my problem, so I’m taking it back to my home town where my mechanic has been working on it for years! They probably could have fixed it, but my guy knows the car inside and out. But Green Garage didn’t charge me a dime for all the diagnostics or trial and error- and it’s running way smoother now. They were also very easy to work with and I really like their front guy, Matt! He explained things well and was willing to put it in writing!

VERY LOW CLASS. TRIED TO SCAM ME! These individuals tried to take advantage of me and charge me well over $400.00 to put a new radiator in my Jeep Grand Cherokee. NO WAY. I took it to another mechanic shop and it turns out all I needed was a $24 radiator cap and that fixed the problem. This is something that any mechanic, regardless of the make model year etc of the vehicle should have tested for and realized. I want to make it absolutlely clear as day that I never needed my radiator replaced!! They just wanted my money!DON’T TRUST THESE GUYS because from my experience all they care about is taking your hard earned money by telling you that you need work that you do not. They do not care about getting to the heart of the problem and being honest. These young men do not know the first thing about business and cultivating long term relationships with customers built on honesty and trust. They are, however out to make a quick greed filled buck at the expense of YOU so if that is something that you desire, then just take your vehicle to Green Garage.

These guys are amazing. I do not live in Birmingham, but was staying downtown while my son had surgery at Children’s hospital. While we were there; my truck started making a really bad sound (water pump failure). Green garage was the closest place and when I got there it was apparent that they were slammed and would not be able to even look at my truck for several days. When I explained my situation, they not only looked at my truck right away, but they got it fixed in less than 24 hours. It is amazing to find people that still care! They knew that I don’t live in town, so the chances of gaining a new customer was low, but they went out of the way to take care of me and my family. They could have charged me anything they wanted to, and I would have paid it, but instead, the price they quoted me was more than fair. We are truly In their debt! If this is how they treat a stranger, I can’t imagine how well they treat their regular customers. I know that if I can ever bring my car here again that I will. Thank you again, Green Garage.

Absolutely fabulous experience for having just blown out a tire on a brand new car! Downtown Birmingham has horrendous potholes. Was making a turn and didnt see it, completely blew out my tire. Happened to pull over next to this garage (didnt even see them!) and when I was in the process of changing my tire an employee was nice enough to help me! In return, I walked over to the garage and they were able to get me a quote very quickly. Very reasonable price for parts and labor! They went and picked up the tire (thankfully it was in stock!) and had it on my car in no time! Altogether from the time I changed my tired to leaving with my new one, the process took at or less than 30 minutes. The staff was AWESOME! This is also a veteran-run business, which made me even happier! This place is absolutely worth your business, and I cant be more thankful for them being there in my time of need! Thanks guys!

Love these guys! on a referral from a friend of mine I called and spoke with Matt who was very polite and set me up to come in the next day to drop off some new rims and tires to get mounted. Chris, Mike, and Matt have all been wonderful! I, typically, perform most of my routine maintenance but was in need of a timing belt replacement. I took my car for an oil change first just to test the experience and work (which I found to be top notch). They have since performed the timing belt replacement and I couldnt be more pleased with the experience, the fair pricing, and my interactions with the personnel. I would highly recommend this location for anyone, but especially for women who might be unsure of where to go or who to trust for vehicle maintenance and repairs.

I can not say enough great things about this Auto repair shop. My car had been turning over slow and I was thinking it was the starter but everyone who tested it said that my starter was fine. I called and asked could I get an appointment so they could diagnose the problem. After telling them that it may not crank they made me an appointment for the next day. They quickly let me know it was the starter. They fixed it and charged a reasonable price. The were nice and professional. I really enjoyed the experience.

I took my car here because Ive been having issues off and on with my car starting. Although they unfortunately were not able to diagnose the problem by no fault of their own (like I said, my car has a mind of its own and only acts up occasional, not all of the time) because my car was deciding to run well when I took it in for it to be looked at. They started and ran my car multiple cars over the course of two days trying to give it every opportunity to act up but nothing. Even though they were unable to diagnose the problem, they had still put plenty of time and effort into my car so I was expecting to have to pay the standard $100 service fee for labor that every other mechanic charges. NOPE! Green garage told me that since they were unable to find anything wrong with my car that I didnt have to pay ANYTHING! Not a dime! I was shocked when the owner told me this. These guys are standup guys who are extremely professional and great to work with. Its hard to find good mechanics these days and Im lucky to have found this diamond in the rough! They were more than willing to work around my constricting schedule. I will definitely be back in the future! Keep up the good work guys!UPDATE: I took my car back for another problem it was having (my car is a 1998 so it needs regular repairs). These guys did not disappoint! I dropped my car off about an hour after they closed and was going to leave my keys in their drop box. However, Matt was just walking out of the shop to go home but he stopped everything to take care of me. The next day was a very busy day for them so he informed me that they may not have a chance to get around to looking at my car which I completely understood. To my surprise I got a call the following afternoon that they were able to look at my car and figured out what was wrong. He also suggested a few other repairs that he had found wrong with my car (things I already knew were wrong but I had been putting them off). He was completely honest with me and told me what he recommended I get fixed and what could wait awhile to get fixed. He was also having another mechanic in the shop look over my car to get a second opinion. These guys are some of the most honest mechanics I have ever met and unbelievably professional. I just cannot say enough great things about this place!!!

Would never fix a car there...I dont know about other people reviews but if you are looking to change your car oil or simple stuffs this might be the place for you like any other mechanic. I went there as my car AC wasnt working... long story short I had to pay around $500 and the car wasnt fixed... the guy was rude telling me your car had a high mileage so what do you expect... I expect to get my car fixed... I wouldnt deal with them nor recommend this place at all

Brought my car in for a rotor, caliper and brake pad replacement. Rarely do I leave reviews but I thought I would outline the exceptional job GG did. I expected my car to be in the shop for a few days, however, they had completed the job in less than a day. When I came in they were not quite finished and I was about to call an Uber home and instead they told me to wait 20 more minutes and they would have it complete. One of the parts on my wheel hub had gone missing either during the repair or test drive. After I had noticed and called they were incredibly quick to offer free of cost replacement for this part without me even having to ask. Rarely do you see customer service this great at a repair shop and I am overall very impressed with this experience.

Hello All. Please read this, particularly females, because most of the time when it comes to your car, we get taken advantage of. Ive already shared this information with my co-workers, and my family members; but I wanted to share my experience with others regarding the Green Garage. You know the saying, if youve ever had a bad experience, you tell everybody, including strangers; however, if the experience is great, you only tell a few -- what is up with that. I own a Red 1991 940 Volvo - Turbo and for years I have had it serviced at another local dealership. I had been observing the Green Garage and the clientele from a far (because after I park I generally walk past it most days on my way to work) for approximately 2 months. I reviewed the Website and decided to give it try for the following reasons: I read that the owner is a former military vet, and I believe we owe them for sacrificing; he opened the business with his wife, which means its a family business and hes not going to take advantage of a female customer or any customer. So, Im skipping forward almost a year later after having had my car serviced to tell you about the following incident. So during the week of 12/19/2016, I was preparing to leave for work and noticed a humongous oil spill [it had to do with the age of my car and the worn out part]. I took it in to Green Garage and Chris stated that hed work me in; I didnt know how serious the leak was and this vehicle was my only vehicle. I received a call later that afternoon from Chris about my car and he told me what the problem was, what the cost would be, and if I wanted to proceed? After I told him yes, he of course had to order the parts but he stated that the parts would be in the next day and then they would test it out and make sure the car was good to go. He told me to stop by after work and hed make sure I wasnt stranded. Everybody pay attention to this: Chris allowed me to use their loaner vehicle without doing a background check on me or asking for a valid address. He asked what direction I would be going just to make sure there was enough gas to get me home and back. When I told my parents, co-workers, etc., this part of the story, I had tears in my eyes. Why the tears, because Im a black female. I highly recommend the Green Garage. Chris and Mike are the best at what they do; theyre caring, theyre respectful, and they enjoy doing what they do, which is taking care of your car!!! Green Garage is only a few walking blocks from The Kirklin Clinic, the UAB Hospital, and the VA. Drop your car off and walk on into work; thats what I do.
