If you do not have to use them, then do not do so. I expressed to them that I believed I would need a replacement and not a repair and they repeatedly asked me: “Is it bigger than a dollar bill?” With no additional questions and no request for a photo or anything that could have made the process work. I knew it would need to be replaced and low and behold it does. I commute 45 minutes on the interstate and this windshield could crack on me as the damage is getting bigger every time I drive. They are not prepared to replace it and I am having to wait an additional four days to get it done and I have already waited three. Also, they ask you if you want contactless service then want you outside. If you are not going to do it why offer? Everyone I spoke to was rude and condescending. If my insurance offered somewhere else I would be there. I suppose since my insurance is reimbursing them and not me they find this behavior to be ok. Go elsewhere if you can.

My estimated wait time for windshield replacement and recalibration was 2-3 hours and I was out of there in less than two hours. All of the staff members were friendly and welcoming. My technician was knowledgeable and answered all my questions. I’m a high mileage driver and I’m sure I will see Safelite again soon. I couldn’t have asked for an easier process. Thank you!

I got a rock chip on my windshield and called Safelite to have it repaired. When I spoke with the lady she was very knowledgeable and asked all the appropriate questions to figure out if my CHOO was repairable or not. Come to find out mine was not. So she then asked all of the appropriate questions regarding my glass and the options I had to verify that I would be getting the correct windshield. I mean at this point I’m blown away!! I came into the shop to have my glass replaced was greeted by a happy smiling face and she checked me in, a technician came up and explained to me what he was going to do and described the process. Again blown away!! When everything was completed they brought my car around and walked me outside to verify everything was perfect! I will and forever continue to use Safelite as my repair/replace services! They are knowledgeable all around and care about their customers 110%

My seal had came loose on my windshield. Although Im not sure if it was the factory seal or not, they had me fixed up and out of there in twenty minutes.Ill be a returning customer.

I was surprised that the glass company my insurance Co told me to call couldnt help me replace a window? He recommended I start going to salvage yards? Im an older disabled woman who struggles to walk, drive a lot etc so going at to salvage Yards #1 has got to be a joke to tell a possible customer referred to you by the ins Co! I spoke to my agent & he said not to go with safelite & recommend another company that he said always handles the window claims themselves. Im very disappointed because safelite was my 1st choice before I turned in the claim. Good luck running a business this way

Wasted my time twice. Scheduled service, dropped my car off then went home. They called later to inform me that they had the wrong windshield so i rescheduled with the assurance that they would have the correct windshield. I dropped off again and was called later that they didnt have the right windshield again. They offered my $25 dollars for my trouble. I told them to keep it. Cant believe the incompetency of this place and lack of respect for my time.

I was canceled on multiple times and was not professional in the slightest. Safelite had JUST replaced my windshield and within 2 months it cracked again. Annoying and I’m sure the quality isn’t as good as they make it seem but that was out of there control. Anyways, scheduled an appointment and was canceled on because they over scheduled themselves. That’s fine I reschedule. Technician was supposed to come between 12-5. Heard nothing from them. 6:30 comes around and I get a call saying she’s running late...an hour and a half after the allotted window. I had to work at 7 so I told her don’t even worry about it I’ll reschedule. Rescheduled again. Got called a day prior saying they have to cancel my appointment because it was supposed to be cold the next day and they were worried about ice on the roads. My appointment was again between 12-5 and we never had any ice on the roads. By 12 it was in the 40s. Fourth time calling them, waiting on hold and scheduling an appointment. Was supposed to be repaired between 8-12. It’s 11 and I haven’t received a text, a call, an email, nothing. Called them, they tried calling the technician and the manager and neither are answering. I’m moving in 3 days and if they can’t get ahold of someone I’m not even going to bother having them fix it. At this point I’m done trying.

I had to get my car worked on three separate times to get the back windshield fixed, and I still have to wait to see if the defrost works when it gets cold. Worse experience ever. If smaller companies in their industry can work on Saturday, then they are in trouble. I need quality workmanship the first time, not a lifetime warranty with bad service.

Safelite in Homewood is the most unprofessional glass repair company we have ever had to deal with. We took our Acura MDX to their repair shop and we left with a wrecked car due to their service tech backing the car into the door. The tech said it was no big deal and it happens all the time. The manager was just as careless and unconcerned. The car was in the shop for over a week to get dents and body damage fixed and then Safelite gave us issues over the rental. Manager at Safelite is very unresponsive to calls and NEVER calls you back as he says he will. Safelite would be the last place I would take my car if I had windshield damage. Ask your insurance company for other options before going there.

Very disorganized. You cannot reach the store directly. The 800 number info is wrong. Not a good process…designed for very poor service.Vehicle not ready when promised. I was told it was ready via the 855 national number. Arrived 6 hours after I dropped it off (for a 2-3 hour repair) to be told they were just starting on it, so I’d have to wait 2-3 more hours. So while I’m waiting they get this review.Messed up my whole day dealing with this repair because they gave me the wrong info.Use another service if you can….they have a near monopoly with insurance claims and it shows.

When they arrived, the representative wasnt sure if he could repair it but said well see how it turns out? When he arrived it was a small dime, when he left it was a crack half the size of my hand. I called Safelite and they stated now I have to pay $500 to replace the entire window. Horrible customer service. Do not use. Truly disappointed.

Everyone at that shop, from the ladies at the front desk to the young man who replaced my windshield to even the other customers, were all salt of the earth people. They were friendly, professional, and prompt. Considering I had to drive over stripped, uneven lanes to get home after driving down the interstate 10 mi and nothing was dislodged, Id say they did a great job with the work, too! Would certainly recommend them to friends and family.

The lady at the front desk was so so nice. I felt like my business was actually appreciated rather than a burden. I chose to drive here an hour from home because my car needed a windshield replacement and which requires recalibration of the Honda Sensing technology mounted on it. I was pretty bummed it couldn’t be done in my home town, but I’m so glad I went with Safelite! My windshield looks great and sensing is working great so far!

I was able to book an appt online, without having to consult with anyone at all. I had the option to pay up front or wait to pay in person. Upon arrival, check-in was a breeze (provide name and a tech came out to greet me within the minute). Showed him the area to be replaced... he explained the time that it generally takes but that hed try to get it done before that and he was successful! While I was there in the waiting room, the receptionist (hate I dont know her name) was by far one of the kindest, sweetest, most professional service people Ive ever encountered. Not just in speaking directly with me, but all other customers face-to-face, on the phone and also with her colleagues! It was a joy just to listen to her interactions with others. Customer Service makes ALL the difference in an experience (chick-fil-a)! I hope to never have to use them again, but in the event that I do... I wont hesitate about it at all!

I have never found the need to review a company before.Read their replies to negative reviews, absolutely no accountability.We had two windshields needing replacement and they canceled both vehicles. We were gullible enough to make another appointment for both vehicles and for the second time they canceled with no advance notice. Worse yet a couple of hours beyond the appointment time, both car owners drove an hour on their days off to get the work done.Zero professionalism, in my opinion. I wonder if their corporate office teaches this practice?One star is too high of a rating, unfortunately they dont offer negative stars.

Not happy at all I came in with a dime size crack in my windshield, guy said yes it can be fixed, now they call and say it cant be fixed and there is a huge crack going across my windshield now, I should have just left it alone cause they caused more damage than i had and now i have to cough up 600 to get it fixed when it was free with my insurance before hand. I only came because my insurance suggested it, but my sister had the same issue with them before and I didnt want to come here.

I come in for my appointment to have my windshield replace that I called and set up a week and a half in advance only for them to tell me I have to reschedule because they didn’t have my windshield but all other parts.. that is unacceptable because I would have not been as mad if they would have called in advanced ... so now I’m going somewhere else. They are also over priced for no reason at all . Don’t recommend at ALL

This was work last year but just saw I didn’t leave a 1 Star yet (I’d leave negative if possible)They replaced a cracked windshield and it appeared fine. I didn’t know until I had water in the back seat floor something was wrong. I had it looked at elsewhere because I believe the problem to be from the sunroof and not the windshield at the time. Upon inspection from the other shop they had looked at the internals from where the windshield had been replaced and the front drain lines were completed caked off with with sealer from the shield and the other shop said it was the sloppiest / messiest work they had ever seen.Those clogged front lines caused the water in back to pool. I call safelite who begins to just blame everyone and anything but themselves. They said since I had another repair done it voided any of their warranties. No returned call from “management” I finally track down someone who says I can leave my car (my only daily driver) with them and they’d inspect the situation when they had time and see “what they could do” but also added to not expect much from that.The damage of my car was so far beyond repair from the water damage I had to trade it in for 25% of its Blue book TRADE IN value which was thousands lost all because of what had safelite done. Every month my new car payment is $115 higher than it should be from that negative equity lose these guys caused me to have. NEVER use them. Use ANYONE else.

I got my windshield repair and while doing it they ended up having one more crack alongside of the existing one.After that they told me they will fix it if the crack gets bigger and now they are denying.After calling them again and again they told me to send the pictures and i did it but its been a month they r ignoring.Why should i pay for their mistake and on top of it they talk very rudely.If they said they will do something they should have.My worsest experience is here.Still waiting for them to call.I wont suggest anyone to repair their windshield here.

Worst experience. I made an appointment to have my window repaired. The fastest they could see me was 7 days out. I made the appointment and told them my car would be in my driveway. The day before my appt, I saw there would be bad weather the day of my appt. They didnt call me. I called them. Ah! They cant come. The next available was two weeks later. Come on! Glass is a commodity. I will go somewhere else. Value your customers and you will keep them

Changed review after manager reply to tell my whole experience. First off though, Ive had 5 visits to their shop and 1 replacement where they have come to me. Waiting room is stellar free sodas, coffee, snacks, water, comfortable chair, ample seating.So I had a recent appointment. They had 10 people already there some being helped and it appeared they had one walk in. I was helped when I walked in and checked in. I waited 2 hours before anyone helped me, the employee came to get my keys and apologized for the wait and that he just didnt see the notification on his phone that he was assigned to help me...odd, but whatever I just wanted to get it repaired and get out of there. He took my car, he was able to drive my manual car thankfully. 10 minutes goes by and I went to smoke, thats where I saw him outside smoking behind their facility. We made eye contact and he slowly backed up behind his car so I wouldnt see him. He returns my car after ~35 more minutes. You could visibly tell and feel the chip was not fully filled in. I was tired of the long wait and left, figured Id dealt with them numerous times prior and maybe Im crazy. 1 week later I walk out to my car on see a foot long crack. I agree with the managers response, but in my opinion (with my lack of any knowledge for windshield repair) I believe the employee that helped me did a very poor job. I leave the 5 stars because I do think my 4 visits that were amazing make up for this one experience.

Went through my insurance to get a small rock chip repaired. They pushed it through safelite. Guy comes out, cracks the window even more, but assures me its good and is covered 100% under warranty if anything happens. Come out today and theres a nice big crack in the windshield from the fixed crack. Safelite says I need a new windshield and theyre not covering it. Never going there again! Ive had windshields repaired by other companies many times before, never had a repair do this.

Although our rear windshield seems to be working fine… when the technician replaced it, he got glass in the backseat and glass in a subwoofer speaker. This has caused some problems with the speaker. I would assume it was protocol to put something down in the backseat to catch any glass shards that fall.

They have a 5 hour window, which seems like a very big window, yet during the entire 5 hours I never heard from anyone and no one showed. No text to announce an ETA as the website suggests, no call to explain the absence. Bear in mind I left work to wait for them. I finally called to cancel and the lady simply said “Ok we will cancel”. This is my first experience with these folks. I can only assume they don’t care to have my business.

I scheduled an appointment for the technician to come to my place of employment today. I have a Mercedes, unfortunately Gary told me that I would have to have the entire windshield replaced. I cant say anything in regards to the work but Gary was very kind, on time, and helpful into what my next steps would be. If i do not use the Mercedes dealership to replace my windshield I will use this company because of how professional and knowledgeable Gary was.

Nice experience. I showed up around 830 on a Saturday for a tiny chip repair. Didnt have to wait but a few minutes. Waiting space was nice, clean, with comfy chairs and a good coffee selection. Office staff was nice and helpful. And, importantly, they fixed my windshield well.

It all started with a rock hitting my windshield and it was a few inches across. Then thanks to Alabama heat it just kept expanding to halfway across my windshield. I scheduled my appt for my off day. So that morning I got a call from the tech saying he was extremely ahead of schedule and would it be okay if he came early!! (that never happens) So Kevin comes about an hour earlier, fixes my windshield in about 45 mins.

Now , it’s more than likely the windshield crack but the repair didn’t help a ton and I can still see the damage. The repair is to keep it from spreading tbh. The customer next to me had the same outcome. These folks are wonderful and they are quick. I want so bad to give five stars but I feel the workmanship could be a little better. Thank you Safelite for your help. I do get the feeling many folks are difficult and don’t understand glass integrity and the owners explain it a dozen times a day - actually I’m going to five because I can feel the owner’s frustration in this arena and it is actually deserved.

It was very busy this particular day so there was a wait. I will say i got the windshield chipped at 1pm on the interstate and it was all fixed by 5pm on the same day! They even fixed two other spots i didnt notice but it was necessary and covered by insurance. I would recommend them.

I had my windshield replaced today. My car wasnt completed at the time specified, but my bigger issue is the lack of cleanliness. The lobby of the business is absolutely filthy. I saw cockroaches crawling across the floor. The mask ordinance wasnt observed by staff or customers. And my car, which is only 8 months old, was left dirty. There are foot prints on the doors and a grease stain on the passenger seat. Im not happy.

7-23-20 UPDATE: Safelite is now claiming that they didnt even replace a windshield on my car. Pretty sure I took my car in with a huge crack in the windshield, and left with one that wasnt cracked. Luckily, I have proof of payment and documentation that services were in fact rendered.We took our car in to have the windshield replaced and then recalibrated. After replacing the window and attempting to recalibrate it on two different dates, Safelite insisted they couldnt recalibrate it for whatever reason and we had to take it to the Subaru dealership. Safelite then took their $100 deductible from us and insisted that they were completely done with the car and its up to someone else to figure it out. Subaru then sent the car to a specialist, who thankfully, after days of trying to figure out why this car couldnt calibrated realized that SAFELITE installed the windshield incorrectly. So the specialist reinstalled the windshield. Surprise surprise, Safelites poor craftsmanship doesnt end there. Its then realized that Safelite cracked a camera lens and so now we are having to wait on that part to be delivered. I have been without my car for close to 3 weeks now for a CRACKED WINDSHIELD. I wouldnt recommend Safelite to my worst enemy, they are clearly neglectful and not interested in providing good work. Thank GOD for the other guys.

The tech that can out was nice enough. Considering he was only here for 5 minutes. He had to leave because I didnt have enough space in my garage for him to work. When I checked the no box for the question do you have a covered place? I would assumed that I would be told to come to the shop. But no they proceeded to send a guy out anyway. Then he call tells me I need a dry place for him to work. So went to my moms house, I clean out the garage. When he got here he says the garage is to small.There seems to be a flaw in the scheduling process. Thanks for wasting my time and your techs time. Ill find someone else to fix my window.

I had a great experience with the people here at Safelite! I originally made an appointment to have someone come out and replace my window but received a call that they were not able to get my part in time. To compensate they kindly took some money off my initial price. The next when they were scheduled to come out, in my confusion I accidentally cancelled my appointment. The staff there were extreme understanding and got me an appointment for first thing the next morning and took even more off my final price. All the staff I came in contact with were extremely kind and friendly, I will definitely come back if I need another window fixed!

FRAUDELENT Practices from Oxmoor Road location. Tech came to repair small crack. Cracked it even worse and said that it would be $380 for whole windshield. When he got off phone with supervisor Arron he said it wass $990. Tried getting in touch with someone ...noo e ill respond. Calli g my lawyer as well as BBB. Will NEVER recommend this company to anyone.
