What a great outdoor store and gift shop!! My sister and I came here for gift ideas for Fathers Day. She got a Montana logo t-shirt for her husband and I got an enamel mug decorated with colorful fish and a baseball cap with a Montana fly fishing logo for my husband. We both got a matching set of earrings from their beautiful selection of jewelry. The cashier offered free gift wrapping which we took advantage of and left completely happy with our purchases!!

All sorts of good stuff: maps, regular camping gear and food, skiing gear, you name it. They also have Montana apparel, fashionable clothes, kids toys and games etc. as well as energy snacks and huckleberry sweets.

Phenomenal experience. Went in for cross-country ski gear and was impressed by the expertise, experience and dedicated time that both Paul and Alex provided on multiple visits to get me set up with the right gear for me and my family. They have ski rentals, went over the technique, they have a used gear sale coming up, and they call their Helena store to see if it an item is available if they dont have it in stock. Their mission is to make sure the customer has a positive fun experience. Would highly recommend if you want personalized and confidence in your service.

They sell hiking, climbing, skiing equipment. Usually they have sales people that give good advice. Also a good place for recreational clothing and gifts. Kind of high dollar but if you wait for special sales or look for last years models you can get pretty good deals.

My wife and I go here frequently for small and large outdoor recreation purchases. Anything from disc golf to baby carrier hiking backpacks. They have great brands as far as I can tell and a good selection of gear for different activities. Definitely worth supporting this local business.

Rude customer service, You lost my business.To start off I was happy to see it busy this weekend, as the last time I shopped there it was a ghost town because if the covid. I am a believer of shopping local when I can, and have shopped here many times without any issues in the past. I understand the government mandate of masks but cannot wear one(and thats allowed for medical conditions). I was quietly shopping by myself with no-one near me when a woman cam up and rudely told me I MUST wear one. she demanded to know why when I said that I couldnt.She told me I wasnt allowed to shop there. My medical issues are private and HIPPA laws are there to protect that. Asking me to leave the store because of a medical issue is technically discrimination. I have no intentions to recommend your store anymore and will not shop there in the future. In this day and age there is no excuse for this.

Varied selection of outdoor clothing, shoes, boots etc. Annual Farm to Feet sock and Black Diamond glove sales especially helpful this year. Professional, courteous and helpful staff.

I went there looking for cargo straps. I forgot the brand name but when l said it was blue tbe guy took me right where l needed to go.The price l saw on them was quite reasonable. Will go back to get them.

Went to buy car top cargo carrier. They price matched another business sale price. Tried several on my car for fit. Installed on my car at no additional charge. Was very happy with the service and patience through the process.

I needed winter boots and I got them from here. Was very happy with the choices available but sadly didnt have my exact size. But still a good place for all your hiking and camping needs albeit higher price for quality.

Most amazing campstore ever! I came in with 2 campstoves, one I could not find a propane regulator for and the other was a coleman 425 with a clogged regulator. Paul went above and beyond to help me find the propane regulator whether they could provide it or not. Really above and beyond, really cared about my situation. He also guided me on my trip into Yellowstone as it is my trip. Showed me all the campsites a little more obscure where you can snag a nice spot without the hastle of the masses. Just finished first night in Carbella, very nice. Honestly, if you are not sure if you are fully prepared for Yellowstone, this is the spot. Highly highly recommend this place, best experience ever! One of the few locally owned sporting goods stores in town with great customer service. They carry premium products and not the cheapest, but I like that I can get help when I need it and they let you browse without badgering you if thats what you want.

We recently went in to rent cross-country skis, and the staff was very knowledgeable and got us all geared up for a fun weekend in the snow. I liked the skis and ended up buying some when we returned them. You can tell the people there are passionate about the outdoors lifestyle, and are very up-to-date on ski conditions / trail conditions in the region. Ill be back, for sure!

Great local store for outdoors great for camping and hiking. Prices can be higher but usually not by too much. Really enjoy the store and try and purchase from them as much as possible.

Hands down the most helpful store I’ve ever been to. My fiancé and I went in to buy a specific product and Janet helped us right away. Not only did she help us with the product we came to buy, but gave us great advice on just about everything to do with recreation in the area. 10/10 would recommend, and we are making this our #1 outdoor store.

Great place to go to get all of your hiking needs taken care of. I was in there this week and instead of trying to sell me a bunch of gear that I dont need they help me understand the gear I was purchasing I appreciate that the knowledgeable staff and I cant wait for my next visit.

My husband and I and our dog feel so at home in BASE CAMP. Its the products and the folks that work there that make this place a must stop in Billings. This is a high end store. The clothes are high quality, and there is good stuff to be found on their bargain racks. They also sell replacement parts for camel back systems, tents, sleeping bags, etc.

Great outdoor equipment and apparel store. Friendly and knowledgeable staff. Have rented snowshoes from here a couple of times and their rental prices are very affordable and the staff was very helpful.

Im not a fat person they have no XXL in mens. I went to look for something for my wife found a few things no XXL in her size either. Price is a little on the high side but they do have quality clothes. I also felt like they didnt think I had in money by them following us around store and their answers to my questions.

I came here for a map about 30 mins to closing time. There were a couple other customers which were trying on gear. I was about to check out a few mins to close when I heard one of the female employees say, its about time someone gets a watch. I presume it wasnt about me bc I was leaving, but still... I did also apologize for being there so close to closing time.

Has really nice and knowledgeable staff to help you make the best choices for the sports gear or apparel and footwear youre looking for. They have great end of the season sales too.
